Their new five track album kicks off with the feet-tapping single “The Way We Touch,” a song with a punchy beat and vocals that bring to mind Amy Winehouse or Adele. San Francisco trio Drop City Yacht Club know their band's name is confusing, but it represents their genre-fusing sound, which they describe as "somewhere in between the Beach Boys and the Beastie Boys." To speak to their musical duality, the group combined "Drop City" (the name of the first rural hippie commune) and "yacht club" (an expensive, stuffy playground who owners of luxury boats).

"You hear [our name] and it's not supposed to make sense," says member Kristo. "Our music is all across the board, there really is no formula. If you know what Drop City is, a 'Drop City yacht club' shouldn't make sense either. It represents the duality that we have musically."

Their genre-blurring sound is best heard in debut single "Crickets"—a hip hop/pop/R&B hybrid featuring "Birthday Sex" crooner Jeremih. It hit the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs earlier this year.

As we gear up for the release of "Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000-2013", we wanted to let you know about some limited edition items we will be making available exclusively through three different choices of bundled packages. Some of these items include a green marble/double-vinyl version of the record (w/ mp3 download card), a cassette version (yes, a cassette version), a full-color album artwork lithograph, artwork themed merch, and a discography poster depicting all of our releases so far. 

We also created a limited edition Live From The Honda Center 10" picture disc vinyl that captures a live performance of our MC5 cover "Kick Out The Jams" featuring Tom Morello and MC5 guitar player Wayne Kramer. Side two is our cover of "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" (joined by Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem as well as Kramer and Morello).

Keljet is Teun Pranger and Koen Mestrum, two high school friends from Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Their motto “Party Party” is reflected in all aspects of their music through up-beat remixes and originally produced tracks. The duo has gained worldwide attention in a short amount of time throughout the blogosphere. Multiple Keljet songs have vaulted to the #1 spot on Hype Machine's “Most Popular” chart, including their remix of The Temper Trap's “Love Lost” which has had over 2 million plays on YouTube. 

In 2012, Keljet achieved a new milestone with an official remix of Don Diablo's “Silent shadows” on Columbia Records, a guest appearance on Kiss FM and features on Ministry Of Sound Radio. Apart from the continuous flow of bootlegs and remixes, Keljet released numerous originals on labels as well as free downloads including recent collaborations with several international artists such as X Ambassadors and AVAN LAVA.

On July 27, Michael will perform at the sold out FloydFest in Floyd, VA, but you can see Michael perform at the Newport Folk Fest on July 28, in Newport, RI.   On July 29 Michael will perform in Central Park in NYC at New York City’s Summerstage music series.  Michael is thrilled that his last stop in July will be July 31 when he headlines at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.
