Information/instructional design can take on forms such as charts, tables and instructional materials. The design of these forms can be improved through analysing the needs of the user in relation to an objective, to see whether the design satisfies the needs and the intended message is recieved by the user.

Interactive design - Great web design examples

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 170px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbXrjublxjIka_0IXeRynitApCV7o6t1TpH6Wm0nfVC5MN0TbBMTaoYuU-7mxE8hH7l-dXlXOyc_4knKx_aaqqZo5ObEkGIGomL2_KIyua36wqwtaD7dUlFSIAu2J4dF8g6zo42-AGZv8/s320/tigi.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314142733442768370" />
http://www.tigihaircare.com/consumer/en-AU/home/default.asp

Interactive Design - Definition

According to Gilian Grampton Smith
"..interaction design is shaping our life with interactive technologies—computers, telecommunications, mobile phones, and so on. If I were to sum up interaction design in a sentence, I would say that it’s about shaping our everyday life through digital artifacts—for work, for play, and for entertainment."

Interactive designers design how interactive technologies, or computer-based systems behave. In order to create good interactive design, one needs to think about the user of the particular system as it involves the experiences of the user and the quality of how the user and the system interact. Good interactive designs have to have a level of usability, aesthetic qualities, communicative qualites, sociability and navigationability suitable for the user. Designer Bill Morridge's ideas about creating good interactive design include the use of prototypes in order to understand and investigate whether the users are pleased with the design which in turn allows for improvements on communicative design ideas and concepts for the system.

works cited:
Interactive Design.17 Mar 2009. <http://www.designinginteractions.com/> .

Web 2.0 - Examples

Wikipedia - The community contribute information and have the freedom to share information about certain topics.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

Facebook - emergred with the rise of mass social media, it is a social network
http://www.facebook.com

Flickr - is a web-based community where people can post up their photos, view others photos and print them from anywhere.
http://www.flickr.com/

Web 2.0 - Definition

Web 2.0 is a term that is used to describe a second generation web, it is defined by a web that incorporates a set of principles and practices. These principles and practices include; a web that is more dynamic rather than the static web that is described as web 1.0, a decrease in institutional control over the web, an increase in the encouragement of creativity and interaction of the community, a large collaboration of different web technologies, mass social media and web-based communities and mass publishing. In a conference between O'reilly Media and MediaLive International the phrase "The web as a platform" was first heard, this is another web 2.0 principle, where the community add value to the web and can control their own information.

works cited:
"O'rielly, Tim". What Is Web 2.0: Design Patterns and Business Models for the Next Generation of Software.
