The Instantiate Podcast crew interview Matthew Landauer from OpenAustralia.org. OpenAustralia.org uses Hansard (the transcripts of proceedings from parliament) alongside information about our members of parliament, allowing users to follow political issues or topics they might be interested in, track and follow members of parliament (including your local member!) as well as giving people voice - by allowing users to comment and debate on issues with other site members.
In this interview we discuss how this project first started, the technology used to develop OpenAustralia.org, technical challanges faced, the use of OpenSource in the site as well as looking ahead at what is planed for OpenAustralia.

After a well deserved (or not) christmas break, we're back with the first Podcast of 2009 with some debate on a few "key points" in the news over the holiday break... Yes that's right, while you we're eating pudding and getting drunk, we were keeping our eye on what's hot in tech! (...and eatting pudding). With expert commentary from previous special guest turned Instantiate regular Abhinav (representing New Zealand nerds) Shaun heads discussion on what 2009 will mean for privacy on the web, including the Australian Governments propsed Filtering system. Sherif heads back to school in the hope of scoring a free laptop (as part of a new government proposal), but quickly comes to question whether it's such a good idea! Then we wrap up with John's site of the week, looking at the new Aussie startup jobfeedr.com and close with our hot predictions for 2009... You heard them here first!!.
