<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Keeping it simple brings better results </strong></span></span> <span style="color: #008080;">~  this is something that has been known for centuries.  However, in our  modern western world we have come to believe that more is better and  having your hand in many pots will bring you more success.  Not so! When  you simplify and focus on just a few things you will receive much more  success and you&#8217;ll even receive it much faster.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>This works extremely well in business.</strong></span></span> <span style="color: #008080;"> One  of the biggest downfalls that I have found with Advisors is they try to  do too many things at one time and end up with no real focus and  therefore mediocre results.  They have no real focus in their practice  and business and no focus on a daily basis. They are overwhelmed by  doing loads of tasks and not getting results.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>The answer is to simplify.</strong></span></span> <span style="color: #008080;"> Simplify what you are focusing on.  Simplify your business model, your goals and how you run your day.<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><em><strong>The truth is that this business can be very simple and it&#8217;s actually a lot easier than you think to receive success. </strong></em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><br />
<strong><span style="color: #008080;">One of the main reasons Advisors run around like crazy doing loads of tasks</span> </strong>getting  mediocre results is that this is what they have been taught.  Many  firms focus on tracking tasks not results.  Also, in the old school  model tasks and multi tasking was King.  In this new era we have found  the way to get real results is simplicity and focus.  Again it&#8217;s an  ancient knowledge coming around to our new era.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>What are some of the things you can do to bring it back to simplicity?</strong></span> <span style="color: #008080;">Here are just a few of the things I teach the Advisors inside the Inspired Advisor Masters Circle and in my Laser Coaching. </span><br />

<li> <span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Choose an asset range that you specialize in</strong> working with and stick with it</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li> <span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Have easy to use systems and processes that are </strong>repeatable and time effective </span></li>

<li> <span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Make everything super simple</strong> ~ your target market, your client attraction system, your daily  schedule your weekly and yearly goals. So many times I see Advisors get  hung up on making goals for everything and trying to do it all!  Stop  that <img src='http://www.inspiredadvisor.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> and make it simple do things in 3s. </span></li>

<p><span style="color: #008080;"><span style="font-size: medium;">As you may know, I train in the sport of Triathlon.  Yesterday when I was  out on my bike for a 20 miler I was reminded of an important life  lesson.  I was headed for “the hill”.  I’ve heard of this “hill” before  and since I’ve never been on it I kind of made it into a much bigger  hill than it really was ~ in my imagination. :-)  When we got to the  hill I quickly shifted to just focusing on the moment and to just keep  going.  Before I knew it I was at the top and feeling great!</p>

<p><span style="color: #008080;"><span style="font-size: medium;">When we focus too much on the future we tend to make  “perceived” obstacles much harder than they really are.  Sometimes we  even make up obstacles that aren&#8217;t really there. Stay focused on the now  and don&#8217;t make up obstacles!</p>

<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>If you are looking to receive a different result than you have received in the past then you must do something differently. </strong><br />

<span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Albert Einstein talked about this concept a lot in his life.</strong> If you want to receive a different result then you must DO something differently.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Here&#8217;s an example for you.</strong></span></span><span style="color: #008080;"> </span> <span style="color: #008080;"> <span style="color: #008080;"> If you are not  already bringing in the lots of the ideal clients that you really want  then you must do something differently AND take action differently then  you have in the past.<br />

<strong>If you are &#8220;stuck&#8221; in your business and are not making the kind of progress </strong>that you truly want to be making THEN you must take action and do something differently.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="color: #008080;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Another example, just saying I want to bring in 25 new clients in the next 8 months is not specific enough.  You need to commit to ~ I want to bring in 20 new clients in ____ asset range of ______ target market (demographic) by _______ time frame. </span></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The secret is ~ YOU need to be specific about YOUR goals and what you really want.  Don&#8217;t water it down, be honest, clear, write it down and then go for it.  When you write that goal down you will then commit to making it happen and your mind will start working on a plan to get you there. </span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>When you are working on building your business</strong> finding the larger clients can feel very very daunting! Most FAs feel this way if they have not done it already&#8230;..that is totally normal&#8230;&#8230;but&#8230;.it doesn&#8217;t have to feel that way. I can tell you from first hand experience I have found it much easier to work with 500K and 1 million plus clients than the ones below that. I have also found it a lot more simple and easy than you would think to find them and bring them in. <strong>Yes&#8230;.I actually just said it is not as hard to find them as you may think.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>Here is why.</strong> <span id="more-73"></span><strong>The people who have 500K and 1 million plus</strong> are big referrers and they gather in places communities &amp; Institutions, clubs, stores which makes it easy to find them. Also, we know that they usually do certain kinds of work, for example like business owner or higher end professionals. If you haven&#8217;t already you should read the book, <em>The Middle Class Millionaire</em>.</p>
<p><strong>When I personally made the shift in my business, which was luckily early on</strong>, I came to realize that it was my confidence and my own beliefs that were limiting me from building a whole practice around this asset size. I was under the impression they were harder to bring in and get more of&#8230;.I was under this impression because other FAs in my office told me so! I could have just kept believing this for years unfortunately.</p>
<p><strong>I did not have the luxury of believing them for long because I was a single Mom</strong> with a baby. So I took the attitude, what the heck I have to try something in order to bring in a lot more in assets and truly be successful!  If I just sat around and believed these people in my office then I was certainly doomed for non-success.  AND that was not acceptable for me.  I then just went after the 500K plus right away with no turning back and nothing to fall back on and soon after that moved it to 1 million plus!</p>
<p>I prospecting in and around places that these families were. Private Schools, Art Galleries, Clubs etc. I made it clear to everyone that I met that this is what I was best at, working with families who have assets of over 500K.  WOW I can&#8217;t even begin to tell you how fast the assets came rolling in!  It was amazing.</p>
<p><strong>This was a simple shift in mindset.</strong> If I had stayed listening to advisors around me then I would not have had that huge success!<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Also, remember you are not necessarily looking</strong> for clients who have no FA you are looking for clients to move from another FA over to you!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>What I am about to share with you is the basis for serious client attraction.</strong> It will take a little thinking and some courage but it&#8217;s extraordinarily powerful.</p>
<p>For real client and asset attraction take off your image filter.  You may have heard for years that image is everything!  You may have been told you need a certain image in order to impress or bring in clients.</p>
<p><strong>Here is the real answer to attracting clients</strong>&#8230;you need to take off your image filter and let the real you come through.  So much has changed in this new world of financial services globally.  One of the biggest things that has changed is that people now want real and genuine people.  Thank goodness!  They do not want companies they want people and they want people who are for real and are not afraid to be themselves with their clients.  This is all a part of the ethics, trust and transparency that is evolving in business and magnified hugely in our field of financial services.</p>
<p><span id="more-25"></span></p>
<p>The challenge is that most financial advisors have been programmed to portray a certain image and to filter their genuine selves.</p>
<p><strong>When you shed the filter and let yourself be real and transparent with your clients and prospects you will </strong>attract so much more than you can imagine.   As a financial advisor I was dedicated to being the real me and it attracted a lot more larger clients into my business.  When I would get a referral the referral would tell me that the client that referred them said I was real, down to earth and told them the truth and that they trusted me a lot.</p>
<p><strong>Why is it so powerful.</strong></p>
<p><strong>People can intuitively tell if you are </strong>being genuine and when you are being genuine your passion and trust comes through.  Remember being unique sells.  When you show that you are not afraid to be yourself and let them into your world you are building such huge trust that it transfers into a highly powerful force of client and asset attraction.</p>
<p><strong>I will be teaching some specific ways</strong> in my upcoming Masters   Circle calls that you can take your image filter off and attract tons of clients with who you &#8220;really&#8221; are.  However, for now here are some important tips to take with you.  If your question is ~ how do I show that I am genuine and real and unique ~  then this will help you.</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>Use      Social Media to connect with your clients and prospects so you let them      into your world that includes your family and friends.  My personal favorites are Facebook,      Twitter and LinkedIn. These are great for advisors</li>
<li>Use      video on your website or on YouTube to speak directly to your clients and      prospective clients. AND most important don&#8217;t try and be perfect, just be      yourself.</li>
<li>When      you send out your newsletter or emails share something personal ~ you can use      the example of my newsletters.</li>
<li>Consider      doing audios to post on your website or link to your newsletter.  Hearing your voice is valuable.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Concept to ponder</strong>:  You do not need to be perfect.  Just be your genuine self.  I promise you that is what people &#8220;really&#8221; want!  It may feel uncomfortable at first because our business has been so different in the past BUT it&#8217;s hugely valuable to get going on it.  Soon you will feel the clients and the assets coming towards you and the greatness of it all is it&#8217;s coming towards the &#8220;real&#8221; you.</p>
<p><strong>Your assignment:</strong></p>
<p>Write a list of all the places you can share more about <strong>you</strong> and be real and genuine.  Begin with the tips above but add to them in your practice.  Write at least 5 ways.</p>
<p>Now before you get started imagine that you are speaking to a friend or your closest client.  When you write, speak or share personal stories pretend that you are speaking to your closest client or a good friend.  Your prospects want to see you like this too!</p>
<p>This is real client attraction.   Remember it will take some trust and courage in yourself but WOW the results are amazing.</p>

<p><strong>YOU are your biggest asset in branding. </strong> The you that is unique, genuine and natural.  I know, I know, for most advisors this is not easy.  We are so used to giving off a certain image.  Well I am here to tell you that doesn&#8217;t work anymore in this new era of global business and especially in advising.</p>
<p><strong>You&#8217;ve heard me say that 21<sup>st</sup> century client attraction is all about being genuine, natural and uniquely YOU. </strong> You&#8217;ve heard me say that this new era of financial services (globally) is &#8220;really&#8221; different and that people make their decisions very differently on who they will entrust their money to and whose advice they will listen to.  Well here&#8217;s how it work with branding.  In a previous lesson I showed you how branding is YOU.  It&#8217;s not your company and it&#8217;s not your team&#8217;s name it&#8217;s YOU.  That&#8217;s how it works these days and that&#8217;s how clients come in these days.  Let&#8217;s look at the old vs. the new.  The new being what works NOW to attract a lot more clients a lot easier.</p>
<p><strong>In the old days many advisors branded themselves as institutional with really large teams or what looked like in their branding as really large teams. </strong>They branded themselves as a larger company or relied on being with a larger company as their brand.  They tried to blend in to a professional veneer within that world of columns and old school banks and money management firms.   Their websites were (are) steel buildings on institutional virtual pages where everything smells and feels like large institution even if they are a small team.  Very little can be found about them, who they are and why they are unique.  In short there is NO personality to them!  This is a HUGE issue in our new era of advising.</p>
<p><strong>The advisors that are winning today in this new era do everything from a genuine transparent and natural branding point of view. </strong> It&#8217;s much more real and much more relaxed.  They are not afraid to let people know who they are and most of all let their unique personality, experiences and excellent judgment shine in their branding.  YOU are YOUR biggest asset in branding!  I can&#8217;t say that enough.</p>
<p><strong>The bottom line is!!  People NOW, more than ever before in our history, want to work with &#8220;people&#8221; not institutions. </strong> They want to work with people who are unique and genuine.  People who they have the opportunity to get to know in more than JUST business!</p>
<p><strong>This is not just financial services there has been  a lot of talk about this in the world of global business and branding. </strong> Today I am showing you two wildly successful commercials to show you what I am talking about.   These are two of the top rated ads running on TV right now.  Totally cool ads!</p>
<p><strong>This Intel ad has &#8220;nothing&#8221; to do with a product or how well it works.</strong> It has everything to do with its personality.   It shows its personality in a BIG way in this commercial.</p>

<p><strong>This Travelers Insurance ad (one of the most popular on the air right now) is all about personality and as far away from institutional as you can get!</strong> No product or service!  It shows people real life stuff that has nothing to do with institutions.   You are brought into a home, a neighborhood and a pet&#8217;s life.  By the way the dog that was used in this commercial is a rescued dog.  Now how cool is that.</p>
