Hazel emailed me last fall to schedule their engagement session on Mackinac Island, but to bad the Island closes for the winter so we had to wait a few months! We were finally able to make it all happen a few weeks ago….and to Hazel’s surprise there still was some snow on the ground!! Win! Win!

Peter asked Hazel to be his wife in this exact spot over a year ago!

Still booking 2013 and 2014 seniors!!

Last month I got a call from Tara asking me to photographer her soldiers homecoming!  Tara was a ball of nerves just waiting for Erika to text her when she landed…..

But once Erika walked through the gate…..Tara was nothing but smiles.

Erika was only home for a week…..and they won’t see each other for another 15 months! Exciting because they will be getting married after that!

I finally had the opportunity to work with Tracie from You’re The Bride during a Styled Shoot in October. I could go on about the shoot but I think Tracie did a great job on her blog post…so I will let her tell you all about it!

Tracie from You’re The Bride explains the styled shoot, “Weddings are such a joyous and momentous occasion that we love being a part of. We wanted to create a unique style shoot that really inspired brides and had a deeper meaning. Our inspiration for this shoot came from the idea that weddings are “timeless.” The day remains in a bride and grooms memory for the rest of their lives, no matter the budget. A timeless wedding is classic, elegant, and full of wonderful memories, so why not make it the theme! We loved the idea of a “timeless” wedding in a place filled with history and character. We choose the library inside The Long Acre House in Farmington Hills, Michigan. We used elements of “time” by adding clocks to the napkins, cake, charger plates, menu cards, and timeline. The color palate was inspired by the tone of the library and the fact that we wanted a classic and clean look. The burgundy meshed well with the wooden fixtures, and the gold tones just brought a feeling of elegance to the room.”

This shoot was a bit of a challenge for me but I liked it! It keeps me on my toes. I walked into the shoot without knowing what the venue looked like (lighting and size) and this happens at most weddings. I feel it is the photographers job to walk into a room and know exactly what he or she needs to do to create beautiful timeless photographs. A big thanks to Tracie for allowing me to photograph it all!

a. Snail Mail! I mailed a package to a friend and she mailed me one back!!! It was quite the surprise! Thanks Stephie!

b. Adam and I love St. Patrick’s Day and that is no secret! This year we got our hand on this amazing two piece suit thanks to Marv! Yep, we rocked it!

c. EASTER PRETZELS!!!!  Yep once again my Aunt Laura and I took a whole day to make over 130 caramel chocolate pretzels. We even made some cute bunny cakes on sticks!

d. My niece and nephew from Colorado spent the week with us! It was so much fun spending time with them! I was super sick this past week…but tried to keep my mind over sickness and stay strong!!!  It was amazing spending Easter with all of my family. So cute to see my niece and nephews all play together! I uploaded a lot of pictures to my instagram from their visit.

e. Have you guys heard of Vine yet?! So far I really like it! It’s fun to make 6 second looping video! Here is a vine from this past weekend. My Vine username is mirandahopkins

a. I have been trying to stay true by sticking to Weight Watchers and weekly meal plans have helped me along with this site!

b. ZERO inbox. This is a huge thing for me to have accomplished. Google Gmail has been a godsend for my business but with so much free space comes junk and clutter! I finally organized all of my emails and folders eliminating the junk!! I wish I really had this patch! I would keep it on my computer screen always!!

c. Adam and I took my goddaughter, Ali along with our friend John and his little guy, Jack to see Sesame Street Live at the Fox Theatre! It was so cute seeing how excited the little ones were!

d. I hosted my first Valentine’s Day Brunch! It was so much fun! Here are the details.

e. I took a lot of personal days in February to spend time with my family and friends. It was so nice to just be. I was able to hang out with family and even attend some networking events without feeling so overwhelmed about taking time off.
