• Under the Dashboard choose Plugins option.

• After that a page will appear with the heading Install Plugins option.
• Go to Upload option, click on it.
• In the next step, select the Ink Appointment plugin.zip file from the desktop and upload it.
• After uploading the file, click on the Install Now button.

• Click on Activate Plugin option to activate the plugin on your website, you can see the Ink Appointment plugin icon under your dashboard. See the image for reference:

How To Use Ink Appointment?

It has some of the basic inbuilt features that help you to customize your services according to your website niche.

Create Appointments:

It allows you to create your desired services specifying date, timing and pricing detail to display in the appointment form on your website. Follow these steps to create your services to display them on your website:

Go to Dashboard -> Appointments icon -> Create Appointments.

• After that Create New Service page will appear. Enter the name of your service and its price and then click on Add New Service button. If you want to add multiple services repeat the above step for the same. See below the screenshot:

• In the next step, set the date slot and time slot of your services. Just click on the Add Date Slot button to mention the dates and Add Time Slot button to mention the time duration in which the services will be available for customers.

• Drag and drop Ink Appointment Widget on any of the sidebar widget according to your requirement, follow the steps:?Go to?Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets.
• Visit your website where you can see an appointment form. Your Customers can fill the details in the form and book the appointment. See below the screenshot:

Payment Details:

This feature allows, displaying all the transaction details of your customers on the WordPress dashboard. To view the customer??s transaction details follow these steps:

Dashboard -> Appointments -> Payment Details -> Payment Transaction Details.

Book appointments:

The customers will be able to book their appointment for a particular service by selecting the desired services from the drop down menu at a particular time; only one appointment can be booked. If a customer wants to book appointment for more than one service then he/she will have to follow the same procedure. Once the appointment is confirmed, the customer will be notified by the email. All the appointment details will be stored in the admin dashboard. To view the details on dashboard follow these steps:

Dashboard -> Appointments -> Booked Appointments -> View All Recent Appointments/View All Past Appointments.

Settings:

This feature is meant to customize the appointment form on your site according to your website niche.

Payment Mode:

The Ink Appointment plugin provides three payment modes through which you can personalize your customer with the required option they want to pay through. It has following three options:

PayPal: When you set this option in Payment Mode field, you can receive customer??s payment through their PayPal account.

PayPal Sandbox: It is used in the testing process. Here admin can check whether the money transaction is occurring correctly or not.

Pay Cash Later: If you want your customer to pay cash after accessing your services, set Payment mode field as Pay Cash Later.

• To set the Payment mode, follow these steps:?Go to Dashboard -> Appointments -> Settings -> Payment Setting -> Payment Mode, select one of the options from the drop-down list and then click on Save All Changes button to save the changes .
• In addition Ink appointment plugin provides facility to the admin to set the currency according to their respective countries. It provides 24 options of various countries and its currencies.

• To set the currency option follow these steps:
  Dashboard -> Appointments -> Settings -> Manage Currency -> Set Default Currency. See the screenshot below.

Step#2  Now the new field is added in the Lead Capture Form as you can see in the image given below.

You can further edit/delete the field by just click on icons under Field Edit and Action option.

Step#3 In the next step, you can click on Lead Form Settings to manage it. Enter suitable Lead Capture Form Heading so that it catches the user attention very well and give valid email id to receive mails from Lead Capture Form. You can give multiple email ids also by just adding a comma with space in between them. By default the Captcha is activated, you can deactivate it by putting it off and then click on save option.

Step#4 Lead Capture Form is now created and you can include it into any page of your website. Go to some page say Users Contact Page of your website and click on the Lead Capture shortcode icon.

You can also place the widget in the footer area, it will appear like this in the front end.

InkMember: It’s the first and foremost feature which enables you to add multiple content product which you will declare as members access content only. Therefore, it will be blocked in front of general visitors. You can add products in the following manner:
Go to Dashboard -> InkMember option -> InkMember.

• You can see a InkMember panel where Add Product option is given, click on it.
• InkMember add product panel will appear where you can fill the required details starting from the Product Name where you can give the name to your content.
• In Billing Option admin can set either as One Time Purchase to receive whole payment once from customers or can set Recurring Subscription to receive payment in installments.
• In the Currency field sets the currency according to your country from the drop-down list. There are 24 options available here.
• Next, define the exact price of your product in the Product Price text box.
• Set the subscription duration for a product from the Subscription Period drop-down list. The duration can be set in days/week/month/year/lifetime. See the screenshot below:

Note: If you choose Recurring Subscription in Billing Option, then you have to define the amount of the first installment in the First Price field and the duration in which it should be payable in the Payment Period field, select one of the option i.e. day/week/month/year  from the drop down list . Then define the price of second installment as well as the time period in which it should be paid in Second Price and Second Period field respectively.

• In Number of Payments you can define the number of installments in which you want your customers to pay the remaining payment partly. For an example If the product total cost is 200, then the recurring subscription payment is set as given below in the screenshot:

• Like this you can add multiple products and make product list of your own essential contents for the paid members only.

Procedure To Show Notification Of Restricted Content On Your Web Pages:

Once you create a product list, you need to put it on the front-end of your website to make your customers aware about your special content products. You can do by following these steps:
Go to Dashboard -> Pages -> Add New.

• Firstly, give a suitable title on your page. As you move your cursor to the bottom of page you can see a list of content that you have created in the InkMember add product panel.
• Check off next to the content options you want to notify to your customers and then save all the updates. For the reference see the screenshot below:

•  Now visit your website you can see the result below:

• If you want to show some description part to the users then you can write that part outside the shortcode. Remember to unchecked the membership ids otherwise the whole content will be protected.
• Now click on the shortcode notification icon, you can see a small Membership Shortcode window appears, enter id of the product you want to insert in your web page  next to Enter Membership Id:, then click on Insert button.

• As you can see on your dashboard, a shortcode will appear containing the membership id of the content. You will get more clear idea in this screenshot:

• In the next step, put another shortcode to display Checkout Now button in the front-view.

• Save the updates. You can see the final front-end view down in the screenshot:

• An InkMember settings panel will appear. Give the email address of your PayPal account  in PayPal Email text box. At this you will receive customer’s payment notification.
• Set the Sandbox Mode as No from the dropdown if your website is live as online or set it as Yes if you want to check the flow of a payment transaction is occurring smoothly or not. In this mode you will act as a dummy customer. See the Screenshot below for the reference:

Transaction:

This is one of the very important and excellent feature which helps you to keep the complete record of transaction details of your customers. Therefore, you find a clutter-free method to maintain the huge customer record on your dashboard through you can view the payment information very clearly.

How To Use Infobar Plugin?

Infobar plugin encapsulates three most important features which helps you to create a brief potential messages. The features are listed below:

• Notification entries.
• Notification types.

It allows you to customize the text color/font size and, change the height of the Infobar, Set the cookie enable/disable and many more things according to your requirement. Take an insight look of the features below:

Notification types:

Under the Info Bar icon it is lined up after the Notification entries but it performs a very important functionality i.e. To create your own essential announcements according to your prerequisites.

Note: Infobar plugin include three types of notifications by default. So when you activate the plugin, you can see the notification list under the Entries table. See below the screenshot.

• To create your own notification follow the steps given below:
  Go to Dashboard -> Info Bar icon -> Notification types -> New/edit entry.
• Give the title to your notification in the Notification name field.
• In Notification size give the size of the text font which will be appearing on the Infobar. Just type the number 10,15 according to your requirement.
• Give the background color of the infobar and font color of the text in Background Color and Font color field respectively. Just give the color name as blue, red, green etc.

• Click on Save button. You can see the new notification title name in the Entries table.

• In the next step you need to import your notification you have created from Notification types to Notification entries. To do this follow the steps given below.
  Go to Dashboard -> Info Bar -> Notification entries.
• A Notification entries page will appear, you can see the sub-heading Content input under New/edit entry, give the suitable name to your notification bar in Name field.
• In the Content text box type the message/content you want to display on your website. In the next step import the notification you have just created in Notification types.
• You can see the sub heading Bar type settings under New/edit entry -> Content input.
• Select the notification from the drop down list in front of  Notification type field.
• In Bar color give the color name, the background color you want to give to your notification bar.
• In Font color give the name of the color, you want to show text color of the notification bar.

Note: The background color and font color you are going to give in Bar color and Font color will replace the background color and font color that you have  given in Notification types window. See the screenshot below for reference.

•  Click on Save button. You can see the notification title name listed in an Entries table under the heading Notifications entries. See below the screenshot to get more clear picture in your mind.

 Note: When you have multiple notification in the Entries table, the Status of the notification that you want to display on the website should be Enabled, and Status of the other notification should be Disabled.

•  In the next step, visit your website, you can see the required Infobar button up above the fold. See the screenshot below for reference.

• Click on the Infobar button, you can see the sticky rectangular strip with defined text and color gets appear on the front-view, above the fold on your website, highlighting the required information. See below the screenshot.

•  If you want to show some mini icon along with the text you can do it in the following manner:
  Go to Dashboard -> Media ->  Add New.

• Click on Add New, Update New Media window appears.

• When you will upload the image you can see the icon image on the Upload New Media window, click on the Edit button.

• You will redirect to the Edit Media window, copy the File URL.

• In the next step, insert the File URL.
  Go to Dashboard -> Info Bar -> Notification types.
• Below the Entries table click on the required notification you want to show the image icon, paste the File URL of the image next to an Icon path field. Click on save button.

• You can see the icon with notification under the Entries table.

• Now you can visit the site and see the change.

 Settings:

In Settings you can customize your Infobar in every possible related to setting cookies, changing the height of Infobar button and Infobar height itself.
Go to Dashboard -> Info Bar -> Settings. A Notification Settings window will appear.

• In Bar type, you can select the Inline option if you want your infobar to to move along while scrolling the page or you can choose Fixed.
• In Insert type choose Header if you want to display infobar at all the pages or posts or choose Widget if you want display infobar on every web page but not the homepage of your website.

Note: To insert Infobar with the help of a widget you need to set Infobar widget in the Widgets window.
Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets. 

• Drag and drop the Infobar widget under the Primary Widget Area and update the changes.

•  Visit your website you will see infobar will display on all the web pages except the homepage.
• You can set the height of bar and button in Bar height and Button height field respectively.
• In Bar announcement text, you can write a few groups of worlds to be displayed on the left side of  infobar on your website.

•  You can change the settings of cookie with the options highlighted below.
• In Close/Open button positions option, set the position of Infobar button either on the left side of the webpage or at the right side.

•  If you want to create a good looking text in the updated editor as given below:

• For the above editor set Enabled option in the MCE Enabled Editor field.

Before you proceed further to the solution of the above issues, let me clear you one thing i.e. the above issues can be fixed up through the internal files of the theme which are not present in your dashboard. You will not get js directory in your dashboard. All the above mentioned issues can be handled through js directory in which files like custom.js, .po, images are present.

The internal files of the theme present in the theme directory can be modified through Notepad++ or through any other resource. Through this approach, after modification of the files, the users have to save the files again and replace it with the existing ones. As a result, they have to update the theme every time they make any changes these internal files.

Sometimes the users find this procedure a bit time-consuming process and also become concern about the risk of being losing some of the important changes in the theme.

Being considered this as a basic issue, our Support team has found out the easiest solution to these common issues so that it will become easier for the most of the users to make changes to these internal files at run time (i.e. through FTP).

Now, the users can directly make changes to the internal files of the theme like custom.js, .po, images through FTP at the run time and upload it on the server. It is a time saving process and it hardly takes few minutes to get executed. Moreover, the process is very simple and there is no risk of losing changes. It will also avoid the repetition of updating the theme several times after making the changes.

Note: The user can edit the internal files of the theme like custom.js for removing the cufon, adjusting the slider speed, changing the font size, font family, font color, make editing to the images directly through FTP.

In the following post I will be providing the step by step procedure which will guide you how you can edit the internal files of the theme through FTP.

Steps To Edit Internal Files Through FTP

• Make sure you have FTP or any other resource installed on your machine.
• Open FTP.
• Mention the following details and click on the Connect icon.
  Host: ftp.yourwebsitename.com
  Username: yourusername@webstename.com
  Password: yourpassword

• Now open your website on FTP and get into the wp-content folder of the theme.

• Click on the theme folder and select your theme which you want to edit.
• Once after selecting the theme, you can edit custom.js file through FTP.
• Follow the steps
  Your Theme directory (through FTP) –> js directory –> custom.js

• Now right click on the custom.js file and click on Edit option.

• Remove the following code to disable the cufon from your website.

• From the same file, you can manage the slider speed.

• For editing the images, you can select the images folder under the themes directory.
• You can right click on any image which you want to edit and download it on your machine. After editing the image through Photoshop or any other tool you can upload the image on the same location from where you have downloaded it.

Note: The name of the image should be same. Otherwise the image will be uploaded on the server but it will not be displayed on the website. So make sure you have not change the name of the image after editing it.

• For editing the .po file, you can open the language folder under the theme directory. Just do right click on the default.po file and download it. You can then follow the procedure of editing the .po file and then upload it on the server.

• For changing the color of the theme follow these steps.
• Through FTP, open the theme directory for which you want to change the color.
• Theme Directory –> css –> color

• Now download the file of color which you want to edit.

• Open the file in Notepad++ editor.

• Change the color code (hexa code) and images according to your requirement. At last save the file and upload it to the server. This will change the color to your desired one.

That’s it. You have made all the necessary changes to the internal files just within few minutes. This approach is far better than the earlier ones that involve repetition of saving this and those files and uploading it on the server.

If I flashback to our early days, it wasn’t so easy. We created our first theme ColorWay and when I lauched I was very excited that someone will come immediately and purchase my build item. In reality no one actually came, I learned it the harder way that probably it is easier to code than it is to sell. After our first theme launched we waited anxiously for about 2 months for any kind of sale. The day when the first sale happened which was of $45 believe me I was jumping up and down. I was so excited, I can’t forget that day.

When it’s your first sale from your venture even earning 10 dollar is success and I felt that success for the first time through that sale.

After that I focused our attention on making even more awesome products and tried everything to acquire new customers. The time was very exiciting because I was learning a lot as I am growing.

Definition: When you upload images in WP account then a media or image link is created along with it. Other webmasters can use this url or image link to display your images on their websites. This is what we called Image Hotlinking.

The drawback: You may be sucked up by the webmasters who use hotlinking with your images and I am 200 percent sure it uses your server bandwidth every time, whenever images are rendered from a hotlinked site. Worst of all, it might cut down your web page loading time.  

Solution: Hotlinking can be prevented only by altering a file present in your server account. This file can be found with the name .htaccess, just go to your server’s cpanel and search for a .htaccess file.

In case of HostGator server account you can navigate in a way stated as below:

C-Panel > Files > File manager > select .htaccess (right click and click to edit)

Tip: Don’t forget to backup your file here (you can copy paste these codes into a notepad and save it with the .htaccess name). In case, if any mishappening is done then we can replace it up with our backup/restored file.

Selecting Modes of Payment: There are three types of payment packages available under GeoCraft theme:-

• One Time Payment Package: Once the listing owner chooses this option the listing will be published as a paid listing for a period of time mentioned in the theme options. When the listing expires it goes to the draft mode where it can be reactivated again.
When the time period of listing expires, listing owner will get an email notification to reactivate his listing. Also he can choose to feature his listing on homepage slider/category slider by paying an extra amount.

• Recurring Payment Package: If the listing owner chooses this payment package then as long as the listing owner pays, the listing will be active. The time the listing owner stops paying his listing will be expired. Also with this package, the listing owner can choose to feature his listing on homepage slider/category slider.

Customizing the Fields on the WordPress Directory Website: Follow the steps and customize the listings, lead capture form etc. as per your requirements.

7. Features Updated in Geocraft Version 2.x.x

Home Page Map search feature –

Homepage Map search functionality provides search results customized to the user’s location. You can list any kind of entity or activity on a Global or Local basis. This advanced, customizable, and speedy search feature drop a pin on the map during the” create a listings location process” it shows the precise location of the business. Searchify click on it’s marked location on map and system provide search results related to it’s location and explore listing without page reloads.

To Enable this feature, you have to create a proper Javascript Map API key with your domain authentication from here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

Since Google has recently updated its Map API and it will work only with a proper Map API key and use it in the specified area as shown below:

Geo-location search on/off feature – The theme gives you ability to turned on/off Geo-location feature from the theme option panel. If you don’t want this feature you can simply turn it off.

If you want to display pins on your Home Page map then, you need to add Listing Locations with proper Google address which gets populated in Location Address field as shown below:

Claim listing feature –

This feature gives the ability to your users to visit and claim their free and premium listings. Don’t wait for business owners to come to you! Persuade them to sign up for this claim a listing features. Supply your site with lots listing and mark these listings as “claimable”, then let business owners claim and pay for the listing. Claim Listing feature allows your visitors to become an owner of item by getting themselves register and they’ll be able to edit this item.

This is the easiest part of the process. It’s so simple that you can do it in about a minute. First, choose any existing listing in the WordPress admin. You can find all listings by going to “Business Listings” in the sidebar admin menu and then click the listing of your choice.

Or you can find the claim listing option when you go for editing a listing. simply check the “Yes” box next to “Users can claim this listing”.

Now scroll back to the top of that page and click the blue “Update” button. That’s it! The listing is now available to be claimed.

New Listings –

If you’re creating a new listing, you can follow the exact same process to make it claimable. Also, when importing listings, there is an option to ‘Mark All as Claimable’ in the importer. After this, you can see a ‘Claim Listing’ button at the bottom of that listing as you can see below

As you click on ‘Claim Listing’ you have to login to the page to claim it. You can either Login or Register for an account (for new users).

Then click on continue

After you confirms that you wants to claim the listing, you will be taken to the pricing page. At this point, it’s just like purchasing a new listing. You can select from one of the packages available

Once you clicks the “Continue” button, you’ll be passed off to the payment gateway. After finishing his payment, the listing goes into pending mode.

Approving the Claim –

Once you have claimed the listing and done the payment. This puts the listing into pending status. Although you can see the listing in the dashboard, you cannot edit the listing. You will need to approve the claim in order to make the listing active.

To get to the screenshot above, you can click the “Quick Edit” link on any listing. If you approve of a claimed listing, just change the status to “published” then click the “Update” button. The listing is now active and it has been assigned to the user who has paid for it.

8. Have Queries?

Here are some general queries which may arise in your mind-

Q. What is the difference between a free listing and a paid listing?

Build an efficient business listing website. A free listing is a regular listing. This listing has no blue box in its background and no premium tag. The leads for the free listings are not viewable on the listing owner’s dashboard.
On the other hand, a paid listing gives more exposure. The paid listings are shown under the premium listing menu item. A paid listing has a special blue background color with featured tag. It also has the lead capture option and all the leads data is viewable on the listing owner’s dashboard. It shows multiple images (while in case of free listing, it depends on the site administrator whether he wants to show one or more images on free listing).
Also through the “GeoCraft custom field” setting, the site administrator can decide whether he wants to display business listing data like phone no., website, email etc. on a free listing or not.

Q. What does the “premium on homepage slider/ category slider” mean?
Paid listing can be made premium by listing owner on homepage slider/category slider by paying an extra amount. The free listings cannot be made a premium on the slider. However, the site administrator can make the free listing as premium on homepage slider/category slider through admin dashboard.

Q. What are the motivators for listing upgradation from free to paid?
For upgrading the listing from free to paid, various motivators are available like:
• Paid listing has the lead capture system.
• Paid listing shows multiple images.
• Paid listing shows complete business details.
• Paid listings are included in the featured listing menu item.
• Paid listing can be made a premium on homepage slider/category slider.

Q. How the listing is upgraded?
A listing owner can upgrade his free listing into a paid one through his Dashboard. Under the dashboard, there is an option of “Edit Your Listing” and at the bottom of the same option, there is an “Upgrade” checkbox from where the listing owner can upgrade a free listing into a paid one. Once the listing owner marks that upgrade checkbox he can choose his payment package from the available payment packages and after that, the listing will be a paid one.
Whereas, an admin can upgrade the listing from free to paid through “Business listing” option on his Dashboard. Under the business listing field, there is an option of “Listing Type” from where an admin can convert his free listing into a paid one.

Q. How to list your business In Directory WordPress Theme?
A site owner can list business through “Add New Listing” or “Add Listing” option. The listing owner will have to mention the following things in his listing:
• Category of business listing.
• Details of listing (location, map, address etc.).
• Uploading images for business listing.
• Entire contact information (contact name, website name, phone number, links to social networking sites, email etc.).
• Listing description and time duration for business listing.
• Type of payment package.
Note: The number of images shown on the listing will be decided by the admin.

Q. How the listing import/export feature works?
