Youth Festival Lacks Enthusiasm - Indore

Only a few participants reached from dozens of colleges in the ongoing youth festival in Indore. District level Inter College youth Festival set off on Monday but the irregularities prevailed even this year, too. Colleges did not receive information in time. A university level competition will be conducted on 27th of November where students from various districts would participate in. The festival is usually conducted in September month which is taking place too late this year.

Colleges Denied Permission for Local Admissions - Re-counseling Confirmed : Indore

The High Court has denied permission of admissions as local level to colleges and has instructed them to conduct counseling in stead. The High Court, in a decision on plea of private colleges to conduct counseling on their own level, has denied the same. The court has allowed them to conduct re-counseling from 23rd to 27th of November, though. Colleges had also complaint that they are not allowed enough propagation at counseling centers therefore students do not come to know about new colleges. The court has liberalized on this issue and has allowed the colleges to advertise on their own expenses so that they can inform the prospective students about their qualities and attract them.

Colleges Oppose New MBA Syllabus - Indore

All the colleges together have mooted out their antagonism against new MBA syllabus released by Devi Ahilya University, Indore. Colleges are against release of new syllabus one and half month after the start of new session. They have registered their anger against late-latifi of university. Study had begun in most of the colleges after MAT counseling on 25th September. But the university has issued intimation about new syllabus only on 3rd of November. Many of the colleges have already bought books as per old syllabus. As per the rules the university should have issued new syllabus much before the start of session but it has delayed the decision by 2 months. Colleges have already completed upto 2 units from old syllabus by now.

A high profile officer of Indore Municipal Corporation along with his family has been registered for demanding dowry from his daughter in law. Rajendra Nagar Police has registered an FIR against ex Removal Officer of IMC and existing inspector of Indore zoo Dr. Rajesh Kothari and three other members of his family against dowry extortion. Their daughter in law has lodged this complaint against them. Rajendra Nagar T.I. Jayant Rathor informed that a case has been registered against father-in-law Dr. Rajesh Kothari, mother-in-law Sudha, husband Ravish and brother-in-law Nishant Kothari against Dowry extortion, on complaint from Shilpa, on Sunday. Shilpa complains that the family has been tormenting her for 4 years for Rs.5 Lakhs. She had also been expelled from the house around three months back and has since been living in a flat in Manorama Ganj.

The fear is prevailing in Indore Forest Department after an expose of some officers being involved in unlawful activities to tag illegal Sagwan wood as legal. Forest Depo's DFO L. Krishnamurti has appointed SDO Abhaykumar Jain to conduct a probe in the matter and submit a report within 7 days. In past a large quantity of Sagwan wood was seized from Wood Cutters in Dewas. They showed the wood having bought from Indore. Which raise the doubt as to why the wood was brought from Indore when it is easily available in Dewas? The whole matter came into light when officers checked their TP. In TP it was written that 895 pieces of wood were brought by a mini truck from Indore but the fact is that this quantity can not be loaded in a mini truck. Besides, vehicle numbers are also not genuine. No vehicle owners were found on given addresses when checked. This is a hush-hush activity of employees of Dewas and Indore forest department, who jointly have been trying to protect the culprits.

Indore Waiting Water - Narmada III Phase Delayed for 6 Months

Another of their tall promise, to bring water to Indore by December�09, through Narmada III phase, has failed again. The Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gour, after reviewing the facts and figures of the project, has accepted that it will take approx 6 months more before water can be brought to Indore. Suspecting the implementation of Code of Conduct many of the constructions, including Intek well in Jalood, have been released to public use on Sunday, which in fact are of no use without water supply. Mr. Gour was accompanied by Mayor Dr. Umashashi Sharma, Shankar Lalwani and Water Works Inspector Devkrishna Sankhla.

Chairman Praveen Damle informed that the entrants will be allowed on first-come-first-served basis. Dengue Epidemic in Indore - 15 Days 250 Patients

12 new cases of Dengue were reported on Saturday. According to officers number of Dengue patients is receding in the city but there has been 250 cases registered for Dengue in last 15 days. Some of these patients are from Indore while many are from near by villages. With this, the total has crossed the figure 2300. There are many patients whose pathological reports are not confirming the disease to be Dengue but they have been hospitalized with the similar symptoms. Doctors are treating them suspecting it to be Dengue. Earlier, the health department had declared that the number of Dengue sufferers will decrease with the temperature i.e. in winter but 193 Dengue positive cases have been found only in last 10 days. MGM Medical college lab has confirmed 147 samples as of Dengue. Civil Surgeon A. P. Shrivastav informed that number of Dengue patients has lowered now.

Parking Problem - Notice Issued to Sayaji Indore

Actions will be taken against 8 different organizations that have been using their parking space for some other residential or commercial activities, next week. Indore Municipal Corporation has already issued notices to them. Now the hammers will be hurled upon their illegal construction. IMC�s city engineer N. S. Tomar informed that 8 complaints were received from 4 zones wherein landlords are using their parking lots for commercial purposes. Actions will be inflicted after receiving reports from building officers. Mr. Tomar informed that Hotel Sayaji has also been issued a notice in this respect. They have been asked to show cause within a week. The hotel has been using its lawn without getting the map amended from IMC. Hotel management says that it has moved the lawn a little further. However, the action will be taken after receipt of a written reply from the Hotel management.

Bio-Technology Park At Depalpur, Indore

A biotechnology park will be developed with an investment of Rs.200 Crore at Depalpur. The state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan made this announcement on Friday in Town Hall. According to officials the park will be developed on 72Acre land for which a Mumbai based company, named Delight, is conducting survey. The surveying company is expected to submit its final report to the State Government by the end of November. After that construction design work will be carried out. The project has officially been approved at department level. All the Herb developers, Pharmacy and other biotechnology companies will be invited to establish their factories here.

NSS Students Performed Cleaning at Old GDC Indore

It was an irregular scene at the Old GDC campus for people who had always seen the students only studying there. Students were seen performing civil services at the college. These were NSS students who, on the eve of foundation day of Madhya Pradesh state, were offering voluntary cleaning services in the college premises. The students first cleaned their hostel buildings then made the whole college premises into a polythine free zone. The students also took oath to spread awareness among all cadres in society to preserve environment and save water.

The residents of village Magarkheda, at Sanwer Road, Indore have caught Naved, s/o Iftar r/o Ranipura Indore, red handed hunting peacocks there. The residents handed over the killer to the Police. Police has captured one .22 pistol and a motorcycle from him. Police has handed over Naved to forest department on Thursday. The forest department has registered case of illegal hunting against him. The residents of Magarkheda had caught Naved on Wednesday evening around 6pm when he was killing peacocks in the area. He had fired on a peacock that died there and then. People, hearing of gun-shot, gathered there. Naved tried to escape but was caught by the crowd. He even threatened people but in vain. He has accepted the crime which he had indulged in for his own taste.

Indore Municipal Corporation : Vandalized

15 masked motorcyclists raided IMC. It was Thursday afternoon, around 3pm, 15 masked men mobbed into the IMC office and vandalized each and everything there. They disrupted cabin of Upper Commissioner Mr. Vivek Singh and 4 other adjacent cabins. They turned all the furniture up-side down and broke all the window panes, glasses, and even computers. The event took place within an hour of MLA Malini God�s complaint against Vivek Singh�s conduct. Mrs. God had gone to meet the Mayor Dr. Umashashi Sharma in Elevated bridge case. She was accompanied by business persons from Jawahar Marg; who are opposing the construction of bridge. During the meeting Mrs. God did not like Mr. Singh�s comments and left the discussion in between. Just after half an hour of her reaching home, some 15 persons raided the IMC office and smashed each and everything they came across. They were inquiring about Mr. Singh whereabouts during strike.

London Dreams, a foolish film : Masand review, IBN LIVE

Cast: Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan, AsinDirection: Vipul ShahLondon Dreams, directed by Vipul Shah, is a frustratingly foolish film about foolish people. It's the kind of film whose central conflict could be instantly resolved if the characters concerned simply sat down and had a chat. Ajay Devgan plays Arjun, an aspiring pop-artiste obsessed with performing before a cheering crowd at London's Wembley Stadium. He becomes jealous of his devoted best friend and band-mate Manu, played by Salman Khan, who is evidently more talented than him, but nowhere near as focused or ambitious. Arjun decides to sabotage Manu when the latter's popularity threatens to outshine his own. Now here's where a heart-to-heart might have helped. Had Arjun explained what this Wembley fixation meant to him, Manu would have graciously backed off and let Arjun fulfill his childhood dream, and we'd have been spared the agony of watching the rest of this uninspiring drivel. But director Vipul Shah and his writers are in no mood to do us any favours. London Dreams is packed with unintentionally hilarious gems like that back-story involving Arjun's grandpa who committed suicide out of shame for getting stage-fright at a packed Wembley concert. Or the ridiculous incident at a show where Manu must take over vocal responsibilities after a blast of confetti practically chokes Arjun into silence. The idiocy, however, doesn't end there. In his attempts to shame Manu publicly, Arjun uses his connections to get Manu hooked onto drugs. A buxom groupie urges Manu to down a couple of tequila shots with her but replaces his salt with cocaine. Before you know it, Manu has acquired quite the appetite for the addictive white powder, practically chomping it down like dinner. If that isn't silly enough, there's a crude scene later in which Manu chases after the said girl to find out who she's been taking orders from. The pursuit ends in a dark London alley where the girl gets down on her knees pretending to do the unmentionable so as to mislead Manu's girlfriend who's been secretly following after them. Wait, there's more! Expect to howl hysterically when Arjun snaps off his belt and whips himself mercilessly to banish all thoughts of romance or lust towards the band's lead dancer Priya (played by Asin) because nothing and no one must distract him from his musical goals. Too generously inspired by Milos Forman's Amadeus for it to merit any comparison with last year's Rock On!, Vipul Shah's latest is a clunky melodrama that's as loosely directed as it is scripted. The film goes for broad humor, over-the-top emotions, and basically chooses loudness over subtlety. That works for Manu's character, with Salman Khan playing him all loutish and lovable, but in the case of Arjun, Ajay Devgan comes off too passive with a performance that is mostly internalised. When Arjun does reach boiling point however, it results in an awkward pre-climax scene in which he lectures a packed concert hall and is understandably pelted with plastic bottles as punishment. Of the remaining cast, there's not a kind word I can say for Asin, who practically lit up Ghajini with her ebullient charm, but disappoints here with unnecessary over-acting in a thankless role. Ranvijay Singh and Aditya Roy Kapur, reduced to mere sidekicks in the band, show up at regular intervals, usually to utter some inane dialogue like, We'll rock it dude! For its dim-witted writing and sloppy direction, London Dreams is ultimately a tiresome watch. I'm going with two out of five and at best an average rating for director Vipul Shah's London Dreams. If you must, watch it for Salman Khan who's turned buffoonery into a bonafide acting style. It's the only thing that'll make you smile in this sad, sad film.

Indore will Ride in Chariots Again

History repeats itself. Chariots would again be running on roads of Indore. The Traditions and Cultural Conservation Society Intek is considering use of chariots to attract tourists. The chariots and charioteer would be presented to the city in a new make-up soon. The adorned horses and beautified chariots would be running on the roads of Indore with tourists. The charioteer age-old callings �Babooji hat ke� bahan ji bach ke �bachchaa baju ho ja�� could be heard on roads again. This will be common scene in Indore soon. The efforts to rejuvenate charioteers and provide a comfortable and entertaining way to reach tourist spots in Indore have begun. According to Himanshu Dudwadkar of Intek, the chariots would be decorated beautifully and the charioteers would also be adorned in proper uniform. He further informs that there are 40 charioteers in the city this time and all of them are suffering a bad business this time. This of the organizations� effort will help them boost their income too.

MBA Seats Lying Vacant in Indore

Final allotment of seats in MBA, MCA and Pharmacy colleges has been declared on Thursday. Likewise Engineer, these fields of education are also lacking sufficient students. Colleges could not collect students even after fourth round of counseling. Even Admission-without-entrance-test could not attract sufficient students towards MBA courses. 11057 seats, out of total 28120 seats, are lying vacant in MBA, MCA and Pharmacy colleges in Indore. Colleges are demanding permission to conduct local counseling now. But the experts believe that there are not sufficient students, hence seats can not be filled this year. This is the result of uncontrolled approval to new engineer and management colleges in the city.

4000 Plot Owners Will Have to Wait - Scheme 133, Indore

Questions are being raised on IDA Board�s decision. Why the scheme was revived and then closed? IDA�s decision to suspend scheme no.133 project has caused more than 4000 of its plot applicants to go through a long process to get hold of their plots. Neither commissioner nor IDA is in position to declare how long the process might take. All have confirmed that, to avoid irregularities, the priority list will be made public before plot distribution, though. But, as an exception, the 14 private plot owners who already have their land here can get their plots within 4months. This scheme of IDA has more than 90% residential use. But, the way private plot owners have been allotted land it seems that a big joint commercial activity would take place here. Records reveal that the 8 out of 14 existing plot owners are somehow related to each other and have bought adjoining lands with serial Khasra no.

Jawahar Marg Indore is going to get an elevated road - a flyover - and the project has got an approval too. Some people are excited about this but some are worried. This new flyover over Jawahar Marg indore will connect RajMohalla directly to Patel Bridge via the elevated road. The estimation for this bridge completion is about 2 and a half year. The percentage of people directly travelling from Patel bridge to Rajmohalla is very less as Jawahar marg is usually more of a connecting road for the internal colonies in this area.Jawahar marg connects bombay bazaar, Narsinh bazaar, malganj, rajwada, sanjay setu, nandlal pura, railway station, siyaganj, patel bridge, sitlamata bazaar and many other Indore markets. Jawahar Marg is the lifeline of this area of Indore and a long development process of 2+ years is going to affect many businesses in this area. A Team from University of South Florida Visited Aurbindo College, Indore

Medical Committee of India (MCI) has issued notices for MD (Emergency Medicine) course. Aurbindo Medical College of Indore has also started preparation for the course. A team of delegates from South Florida University visited the college in this respect. The visiting team consisted of Dr. Boni Arqula, Dr Sunil Khetarpal, Dr Mamta Swaroop and Dr. Sagar Galvankar. They were here to train the college faculties in Trauma and Emergency Medicine. The visiting team also advised on introducing new course and reconstruction of Casualty Department.
