What a sizzling performance from the master batsman Adam Gilchrist. With his bat firing away like Sehwag and co were left licking their wounds. Gilly blasted 50 off 17 balls and set up a victory for the Hyderbadis. His final score was 85. He snatched away a victory from the undefeated Daredevils who had score a respectable 153. After the loss of two wickets for 0 runs the delhi team looked to be on a sticky wicket. But they recovered – Sehwag and Dilshan did a good job too. But everything was reduced to nought with the blitzkrieg that Gilchrist unleashed on the hapless Daredevils bowlers. No guesses for who won the man of the match award. It was Gilchrist’s show all the way.

Almost ending the dreams of a semi-final berth for the Mohali team. Chasing a very modest total of 119, Yuvaraj and co could manage only 92 for the loss of 8 wickets. The Chennai team is assured of a semi-final berth. Delhi are already through to the semis. Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians are also out of the semis along with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers still have a game left and depending on who wins the final line up will be known. The Mohali team still have a slight hope of scraping through to the semis.

At last the Kolkata fans got what they wanted for so long. A victory from their beloved team and they got it.

Mumbai panicked and Rajasthan took advantage to post a win. Chasing just 146 the Mumbai Indians needed just four runs off the last over sent down by Munaf Patel. Instead the last 3 batsman ran themselves out and got just two runs for all their troubles. It looked silly in the end that top class cricketers can make such a hash of things expected from gully cricketers. The result Mumbai team lost a crucial match and the Rajasthan Team gained a breather. They snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and that should give them a lot of confidence and high and may very well be the turning point for the team’s fortune this season. Munaf Patel the final over bowler should be given credit for this.

The Chennai Super Kings lost in a sensational match as a resurgent Royal Challengers thrashed former season’s runner up to win by two wickets. It was one of the worst days in the office for the Chennai Super Kings and certain wake up call for the teams batsman. They set a low target of 129 for the Royal challengers. Inspite of the low target the Bangalore team managed to get itself into some problems before Ross Taylor the hero of the last match and Virat Kohli steadied the innings and took them close to victory. When Taylor fell with it fell to Vinay Kumar to guide the side to a nervous win.

Deccan Chargers Hand Crushing Defeat To Rajasthan Royals

The Royals haven’t found been at their all conquering best this season. Deccan Chargers made tentative start losing 3 wickets but Dwayne Smith lusty hitting (he made 47 runs) helped the team post a reasonable target of 166/7. At one stage the Chargers were 83-4.

In return Rajasthan Royals team were never in the hunt losing regular wickets and looking quite unlike the Champions that they are. Hope for a better performance next match.
