Build a Hotspot at Home

Development of computer network is now very rapidly, especially the development of Wi-Fi connection, many devices that require connection to wi-fi so that can be connected to the internet such as mobile phones and notebook. So when you say "Wi-Fi" today, you probably mean 802.11b, which is a subset of the general 802.11 standard. A standard means the technical form of something such as a message or a communication. In other words, a standard might specify how the communication is made.

In my home, I use DSL to connect to the internet. I place the DSL modem on the floor above my home not far from my PC. But when I buy a notebook that support wi-fi, I started thinking to share internet access through the hotspot, so with this technology I can use a notebook around the house even on the first floor.

To build a hotspot at home I decided to buy Linksys WRT54G because the price is affordable by my bag and it is very easy to settings. here the simple steps

Configure your router name and your local IP address at home.

Configure wireless SSID and channel that will be accessed from your notebook

Don't forget to activate the security mode that can not be accessed by neighbors. You can choose between WEP or WPA mode whatever you want.

Blogspot Templates Own Creation

Adsense for Domain settings using Free Domain

On my post about Build your own site with free domain name and free hosting I already explained how to create a free domain name at co.cc, and now in this post I will explain how to take benefit from the adsense for domains using a free domain from co.cc.
I will use a domain photography-resources.co.cc that I've created for example. here we go

Login to google adsense website
Select "Adsense setup" tab then click "Adsense for Domains" link
When adsense for domains menu appears click "Add new domains" link

On Add Parked Domains page as picture above type your domains in the domains list box, select Language for your domains then click Add domains button.
Adsense will give you some configuration value that you must configure at your domain registrar. if you will be using the free domain from co.cc, your registrar is co.cc. The configuration values such as picture bellow (you must click the picture to enlarge it).

Now go to co.cc domain setup menu select Zone Records to input values above.
Input values one by one

And finaly, all values will look like this

"It may take up to 48 hours for any changes to take effect in your users' accounts" said co.cc, but my domain is active in a time not more than 1 hour.

VPN server Settings in Mikrotik RouterOS

I use Mikrotik RouterOS as a gateway to the internet in my office. At the beginning I just open the firewall on the Mikrotik To control my office network from my home, But after I did some experiments with Mikrotik RouterOS and read from the Mikrotik website finally I found that Mikrotik can act as a VPN server, Its cool for me. If I connect to the office network through a VPN network is more profitable for me, because my computer at home can act as I'm working in the local network of my office.so I can take full control to my office network now.

On this posting I will share this VPN server settings in Mikrotik RouterOS at your office that can be accessed from your home. following this steps :

open winbox and connect to your router.

in the PPP menu at secrets tab select add button then type your user name and password, select service as pptp. local address is your local interface IP and remote address is IP for your computer at home it must have same netmask with your local address.

At your home computer (I use Windows XP) open New Connection Wizard then select connect to network at my workplace using Virtual Private Network Connection, type your Mikrotik public IP when the wizard ask you to type the host name or Internet Protocol address of the computer to which you are connecting. And finally type the username and password that you have entries in Mikrotik.

done.

It is very easy, isn't it ?

Problem With 2.5" USB 2.0 IDE Hard Drive HDD

I am very surprised this morning when I get my 2.5" USB 2.0 IDE Hard Drive HDD can not be explored in my computer. Every time I try to open it, windows XP sp2 always ask to format the hard disk, so I try to open it in another computer, and the results are still the same. I do not know why this suddenly occurred.

Every time I had problems with the hard disk, the first time I have to do is check with partion magic, then I starts to check it. But Partition Magic can not help me this time, after I try all his tools, my hard disk still can not be explored. I began to sweat this time, because all my important data in there. Finally as usual I started looking for the answer in google, and after trying some free software that I find on google I get TestDisk Data Recover which is able to analyze my 2.5" USB 2.0 IDE Hard Drive HDD very accurate and it is free :-). TestDisk Data Recover is able to restore my 2.5" USB 2.0 IDE Hard Drive HDD as one without losing data. I can now smile, thanks to google and TestDisk Data Recover.

My first experience in bloging

The rest time has come, and I can start writing in my first blog, and this is my first any posts. previously I would like to thank to the blog owner freetemplates.blogspot.com that give permission to download this nice template from his blog.
I'm not the person who likes to write as you will see from the posts how bad my writings, but I will try to learn to write well. I'm studying to become a blogger, so I need feedback from readers or correction.
Many ideas which in my head to write this on my blog, such as writing about a computer network, scripting, programming, hardware, internet and even about food etc just for relax :-). in the rest time, I will write all of that idea on my next posts.
