It’s a guilty pleasure of mine watching Project Runway. Especially when I was still working for one of the country’s biggest names on fashion merchandising. It was one of those times when I learned that it would be awesome to have a versatile piece in your wardrobe that you can use from day to night, with a change of accessories of course.

This is something completely unrelated to that, only that the new series of Pinky:St features one girl with different clothes she would wear on different days.

She goes to school five days a week, stays at home on Saturdays and lounges out with friends at a coffee shop on Sundays.

Pinky:St Series 9 Singles, photo courtesy of Pinky:st.てなに？

What’s different with this new series is that they are now being sold in singles, probably to market it more as you can change clothes with her other versions. As past series show 3 different girls with a second set of clothes, this set shows one girl with a different expression each single pack. This will also be done for the upcoming Series 10. I’m not too fond with that idea, as it’s almost the same price as the former sets with a change of clothes. But they’re still so cute I couldn’t resist and looking forward to Series 10

Creating model-kits. Gundam model-kits.

At first, I was apathetic to what the hubby does whenever he browses the Gundam section of the toy store. I would be at the other end of the toy store looking for items that would fit Akihiko. But after he finished an SD version of the Gundam Leopard, I wanted to try it for my self too.

Gundam 00 was my first try (pictured above) and I was hooked! There’s a sense of accomplishment building a kit and you can customize it if you want to. It somehow brought me back to my college days, building things from scratch by hand, sanding and painting them. It’s definitely something different being away from the computer for a long while.

So now, I’ve already finished the SD of RX-93 Nu Gundam (with so many mistakes, I’ve learned so much), and already started on 1:144 scale of Freedom Gundam (whose face paint I am so very proud of). Also, 1:144 of both Over Flag andW-Gundam Zero Custom are already lined-up. And am also hoping on getting a couple of more kits before the year ends to send as gifts. I am still learning, but learning a lot.

This may be another step in my ascension (or descent, whatever) in otakudom, and my hubby is yet the one to blame. But I’m loving it.

If budget permits, we’ll go again this year. So I’m crossing my fingers.

EDIT, 2 hours later: I spoke with my financier, and looks like the trip is a go ^__^

A yearning two years in the making? Most probably. My feed reader is saturated with subscriptions to different doll blogs, as well as friends‘ who got into it. But back then, the urge wasn’t so strong, so powerful enough for me to actually buy.

Then, Seiran came along.

It was around this time last year, his photo appeared when a couple of friends posted updates on upcoming releases. And seeing him, my heart skipped a beat.

I think it was the period costume. The bow and arrow. The aura. But I fondly remember seeing his pair of eyes first, calling out to me and reaching out to me.

Cliche it may be, but that’s how I felt. And by golly, at that time, I knew I had to have him.

And on November last year, my beloved (now husband) gave him to me as a gift. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Do I sometimes regret getting him?

The amount it self could have bought me something else, like an early RAM upgrade for my MacBook or add it to my savings. He also now terrorises Tumblr and accuses me of being an evil handler and calls me an old bint. (He calls hubby Otou-san. Why not call me Oka-san at least?!)

But when I turn and look at his eyes, all of those mean nothing.

I regret nothing.

Yes, it’s a kid’s watch, but who the hell cares? It fits me well! (I even had to unhook some links since it was a bit loose).

The great thing about this watch? The fun elements of LEGO are intact. I can add or subtract links as I see fit. I can even arrange the colors if I want. I can also change the ring around the watch from this one to a different color.

Maybe when I go to Singapore later this year?

So yeah, looks like my wallet will again weep as he finds out I’m collecting another kind of toy. Oh dear.

The Charlie’s Angels and their alternate styles! Here’s Angel #1 flaunting her jacket and boots.

Angel #2 only wants to show you her camera.

Angel #3 is pouty with her dress.

And I want those shoes!

Akihiko, the resident otaku.

He’s actually too much of a pretty boy to be an otaku, but he actually is.

Rotch pointed out that the Anime Festival Asia 2009 website is finally up and running! So I immediately went to take a look at AFA09.com.

Nostalgia hit me as gratuitous large images from last year’s event, seeing MAY’n, Aniki and the booth pictures. I quickly signed up for the subscription and added their Facebook page and Twitter account as well.

What surprised me and made me squeal when I went to the website was seeing my name (or at least this site’s name) in the marquee of random testimonies from visitors and guests alike.

Unless some other person in the Philippines is claiming to be Inanimate, which I doubt, it really made my day.

I’m just glad November is a bit far off so I can really save up for it! And I yes, I really am itching to go back!
