First seen on Breitbart, this promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel clearly describes Obama as being "Born in Kenya". What does this mean? Well for starters I guess it explains the Photo Shop Birth Certificate with information that doens't match that of other Hawaiian Birth Certificates from the same time. Was Barack Obama properly vetted? No...
Cheers,

JPMorgan Chase is engaging in investment banking. Investment involves risks. On the radio this morning I heard someone say that "something needs to be done about all these risky investments". This makes me really worry about what people like this think investments are all about. There is no such thing as "risk free" investment. If you invest your money, you are supposed to understand this means you may loose your money. Sure there are varying degrees or risk, but nothing is completely safe, not even burying your money in the back 40 or keeping it in a bank account. (FDIC insurance is only as good as the government guarantee backing it. So if you bank goes bust because your government goes bust, who do you think is going to give you back your $200K???) Gold/Silver, solid gold "actually in your hand", gold and silver may be one of the safest investments, but there is no guarantee of it's value. There is no, NO, NONE, Not a single investment that is 100% safe. If you get involved in a hedge fund and don't understand what is going on, you have no one to blame but yourself.

That all being said, I think it's also important to note that JPMorgan is still going to make Billions this year, so a $2 Billion loss doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I'm not prepared to say that it's not a sign of what's to come. I personally believe we have yet to see the real crash, and when we do, 2008 will look like peaches and cream.

(Ahhh, the good old days when the FED could just print more money and make everything well again)
Besides the fact that the GOP Candidate isn't decided yet, I want to take a look at Mitt Romney compared to President Obama to see if he really is better. After much investigation I've been able to list many of these.

President Obama and Mitt Romney have the following in common.

Receives many high dollar value donations from Wall Street executives.

Supports the war on drugs (Despite having used drugs in the past, Obama allows the war to continue)

Has supported some form of gun bans in the past.

Supports the idea of continued foreign aide

George Soros thinks there is little difference between the two

Support the IRS and the IMF

Supports the North American Union

Supports NAFTA

Supports the continuation of the TSA

Supported bank bailouts

Supports the continuation of foreign wars

Supports Agenda 21

Supports the Patriot Act

In favor of the NDAA

The major differences I was able to find between Mitt Romney and President Obama.

Mitt Romney is white and a Republican, while President Obama is black and a Democrat.

Cheers,
Sounds like a joke right?

You know how Illinois is so broke we can't pay our bills? Well I have a good one for you. I received in the mail today a nicely designed full color advertisement from the IDNR (Illinois Department of Natural Resources) urging me to get a fishing license. Now I'm an Outdoorsmen, or at least I like to pretend I have time to get away from a computer, so I kinda like the idea. Also, I'm one of the people who thinks government should be run more like a business so at first glance this was kinda cool, until I thought about it for a moment and realized they were advertising "statism". Licenses for fishing isn't very libertarian after all, even if it's not the worst statist offense in the world.

Here's the icing on the cake, the advertisement wasn't even for me, it was for the person who used to live in this house over 6 years ago, which is really sad because I've purchased hunting and fishing licenses since I've lived here. This means the IDNR is spending money sending mailers to people who have not done any business with them in almost a decade.

This got me thinking, should the State be advertising? The IDNR like most State's rely heavily on fees, so does it make sense to spend money, that we really don't have, in order to raise more money? I guess this tactic might be a Hail Mary for an actual business, but is it the right move for a State?

Cheers,

If you think of wisdom as book smarts, memorizing facts and data that can recited back on demand, then I think age is obviously a obstacle since many older people have trouble remembering your name. If wisdom is more about knowing and understanding the minutia of life, perhaps age does help play a role. Mature people have after all lived longer and so have experienced more, so they could very well have insight that younger people could not have.

This being said I should mention that some old people live both figuratively and literally, in bubbles. Some people can achieve age while never bothering to stop and consider an alternate point of view. Some people grow up, live and die in the same small town having never traveled outside their state. Others have traveled the world, fought in wars and survived great hardships.

This of course, doesn't mean that folks who have traveled the world necessarily have open minds, or that small town yocals have closed minds. The overall knowledge or wisdom one has probably is more connected to the sharing of ideas, than anything else. This means that sharing ideas is paramount to obtaining knowledge. Knowledge after all is nothing more than ideas that have been proven and dis-proven over time. Any scientist will tell you that a negative result is just as valuable as a positive one, even if the result is met with a less than enthusiastic reception.

In my opinion there is no doubt that the younger generations can learn a great deal from those who have lived. The only problem I see is that many times, it's like pulling teeth trying to get some of the older folks to share. I've touched on this before, somewhere along the line it became a "rule" not to discuss politics and religion and in some families and circles, this morphed into a "rule" where no one shares any opinions or anything that might cause someone to be uncomfortable. How is the younger generation to learn anything if ideas, opinions and world views are not shared?

Of course this isn't the case with everyone, sometimes you can't hardly get a word in edgewise with some folks. They want to capitalize all your time with stories about the old world, the war or back when they had to walk to school up hill both ways. They might not know who won the world series last year but they can tell you in great detail each and every single mistake and misstep John F. Kennedy ever made. Or they might be to tell you each and every team ever to have any success at all while competing in our national past time but not have a clue who their Senator or Congressman is, or even if they voted for or against the latest piece of landmark legislation.

Sometimes skills and abilities are handed down from generation to generation. The Fathers and Grandfathers, The Mothers and Grandmothers, teach the younger generation about the skills needed in life. Sometimes these skills are lost because they want more for their children, because after all women shouldn't be stuck in a kitchen and young men shouldn't be forced to work with their hands, that's grunt work... All to often prejudices are inherited from the older generations. But acceptance is also learned. There was a time in the history of our great nation when blacks couldn't see a doctor because many simply wouldn't trouble themselves to help a colored person, while some treated these minorities with the same respect as anyone else.

A very telling piece from our American history is that back in the very early days of our country even before the republican form of government that we now hold dear is that both young and old, rich and poor alike were very knowledgeable and literate. Education was a key ingredient in the American Experiment, at a time when the percentage of literate people in Europe was very low, early Americans took great pride in making sure everyone could not only read and write, but understood what freedom meant. Having read from the same books and sharing ideas across the board led to people being able to compromise and grow. Even people who didn't agree were able to come together.

The only way for us to grow as a society, is if we continue to share opinions and ideas. It's important to note that several of our founders did not like each other very much, but they respected one another, so much so as to risk their lives for one another. None of this would have been possible if we simply refused to share ideas and opinions. This means that the younger folks need to listen and learn what they can from the older generations but it also means the older generations need to keep their mind open to new ideas that the younger folks bring to the table.

Where does this leave us, are old people really more wise or not? I think the answer is simple, it depends:-) An idea isn't necessarily correct just because it comes from someone who has achieved an advanced age just as an idea from a young person is not wrong simply because they have not lived or experienced any hardships in their life.

Cheers,

The simple answer is no. The only person I and many if not all of my fellow Ron Paul supporters will vote for, is Ron Paul. I highly Doubt Paul would support Romney, he's not a party hack and he knows how much credibility he would loose if he did such a thing. Paul stands by his principles, he's done this for 3 decades so I don't think he would start towing the party line now. Republican is not better than Democrat, Freedom is better than tyranny, so supporting Romney in any way would be akin to giving your jailer a rope and asking him to tie you up and hang you. Romney is not for small government, he is not for fiscal responsibility and he is not for free markets, he's a crony capitalist and a statist, pure and simple. He's proven this with his past legislative actions. Paul on the other hand has proven that he will stand, alone if necessary, for what is right.

Some Christians like to say that it's not important what a person does when people are watching, but what they do when no one is looking. Flip that in reverse. Paul has stood alone so many times when everybody was looking. He did the right thing when so many where doing the wrong thing. He's stood for our rights, our freedoms and the U.S. Constitution, when others were poking fingers at him, and making jokes about the Constitution being "outdated" and "obsolete". He’s the only one who understands non-interventionism and proper use of the U.S. Military. He doesn’t believe in any foreign aid, while others pander for votes by giving money away like we can just print more. (Oh wait, they can)… Ron Paul should be the natural choice for TEA Party minded people, but instead, their judgment has been clouded by so many other issues that have nothing do with anything and in some cases, fly’s right in the face of what they claim to believe. Ron Paul would be Obama's worst nightmare in a general election, because anti-war and civil liberties, liberals would take a good hard look at Paul and realize he might be the real deal. But go ahead and choose Romney because the, (“R”) after all is more important…

How could I vote for anyone else? I can't.

Cheers,

Here is the picture that the Main Stream Media has been showing you for days now of Trayvon Martin (13 or 14 as pictured)next to George Zimmerman (Conveniently in the Jail Orange Jumpsuit)

I wonder if public perception on this case would be different if the media were instead reporting that Trayvon was actually on top of Mr. Zimmerman, beating him before the shots were fired and in stead showed this picture of the two side by side.

The Ugandan LRA leader Joseph Kony is the latest African tyrant to make headlines. Apparently he's doing some awful things in Africa including using children as soldiers and sex slaves, none of which is a new phenomenon. Of course that doesn't make it good, or even ok, but these types of crimes have been going on all over Africa throughout history, Kony is only the latest tyrant to use his power and influence over the people.

Now let me be on the record as saying that I do not support Kony in any way, I'm simply asking whether or not we should be involved.

It has come to my attention that a movement has started, a movement to find and eliminate Joseph Kony. If this movement was made up of freedom fighters, mercenaries and guerrillas volunteering to go help find this man to bring him to justice, I would have no problem with it. My issue is that this movement is designed to use the Children of America and the world to force military intervention in a foreign country.

This movement has urged the use of propaganda in order to expand the message. As a political activist, I must agree that this tactic makes sense. What troubles me is that it's being used in our public schools, without any consideration to the causes and effects that have come in the past and will likely come in the future if we continue on this path of military interventionism. When in our recent history has it been acceptable to use students to advocate war? The video which has been shown in our schools says "we will fight war". Now, I'm sure this can be dissected many different ways, but the context in this video is to get U.S. Involvement, so what do you think that means? Really, what does “military advisers” mean?

I'm also deeply troubled that this video and movement is exaggerating the current impact of Kony, since his forces have been greatly reduced in recent time. Are the children being told that the United States has been giving the poor people of Africa hundreds of billions of dollars a year and much of this money often goes to people like Kony. Are the children being taught that the U.S. has often been involved in situations around the world helping people, only to have those we helped turn into the likes of Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden and Joseph Kony. Today, they ask for Military Advisers, but we all know it turns into weapons and troops in no time, once we find a political excuse to be involved and this movement is doing exactly that, urging involvement in yet another foreign conflict.

Just a few short years ago young people in this country took to the streets to fight against the war in Iraq. Now our young people are being used to urge the deployment of military assets in a foreign land. Is this still America? I feel like I've woken up in an alternate universe where now U.S. Military involvement has become the norm instead of the exception.

In closing I want to say that I would be thrilled to have more young people involved in the political process. I would be thrilled to have young people really care about what's going on in the world and especially in our own country. But it troubles me when I see children being used as pawns for political gain. Stopping one man will never end the atrocities, only freedom and individual liberty can do that.

If you're a parent of a child in school, I would urge you to investigate the use of this video and to discover the intent and to get an explanation as to it’s use as curriculum. Especially since one of the primary functions of this movement is to raise addition funds for "Tri" with the sale of bracelets being targeted at the kids, which we all know are particularly susceptible to peer pressure marketing.

Cheers,
I think it ought to be changed to, You can fool most of the people most of the time.

U.S Budget Watch recently released a report showing that the Debt will increase under Romney’s, Gingrich’s, and Santorum’s tax plans. The Report shows that only Ron Paul's plan will actually reduce the deficit. Today Rush Limbaugh told his audience to ignore this report because the non-partisan group is schill for the Obama administration. How low with the establishment go in order to stop Ron Paul?
The Council was able to vote on this even though there was very little discussion on the topic during the committee meeting. More disturbing is the fact that Rickey Williams proposed an excellent idea to increase the fee for only the next year in order to give the city more time to investigate alternative options. This was supported by Bill Black, Steve Foster, Ken Davis and Karen McMahon but failed since the rest of the council thought it was a superior idea to strap Danville citizens with another new rate increase over the next 5 years.

In March the Gasoline Tax increase goes into effect and now if you use the yard waste program, you can look forward to a $5 raise to your $20 sticker fee. If you’re like me and constantly wondering how the government keeps growing and taxing us while refusing to cut and live within its means, then you’ll no doubt see this for what it is, another effort by local city government to keep expanding. The only way we will ever correct the financial problems of this great nation is if we can control the purse strings at all levels. It’s not just those in Washington D.C. who have eyes bigger than their stomach it’s also those who control small town America. The main reason this is so frustrating isn’t because I think $25 is to high, but because there is little or no interest in finding others solutions to the problem. We simply can’t keep on like this.
If you live in the Danville, IL area and wish to join
Like in Iowa, no South Carolina Delegates have been chosen yet. All the networks are still choosing to report this information wrong when they show Gingrich with all the Delegates. According to the resolution signed by the South Carolina GOP in August 2011, the County's will have Conventions in March and April, followed by a state Convention in May to chose the actual delegates. Their system as a 50% penalty, any candidate with 50% of the primary would get 50% of the delegates but no one got 50% so the delegates should be proportional to who's still in the race at that time, and those delegates would not necessarily by bound to vote for that candidate in Florida at the national convention.
If you live in the Danville, IL area and wish to join

Pushing Santorum or Gingrich is a joke.

The war goes on, Newt Gingrich beating Romney in South Carolina is actually a great thing for the Ron Paul campaign. The delegates are getting split which means it'll be difficult for Romney, or anyone to get enough, which could result in a brokered convention. Santorum and Gingrich both have little money or organization to continue much farther and probably won't even be on ballot in all the states. Gingrich is missing from the ballot in 2 states and Santorum will likely be missing from 4 state ballots or 565 delegates worth. This is a two man marathon between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul.

Ron Paul has grassroots support in many states, so South Carolina and Florida won't hurt his campaign much at all. He will be in the race all the way to the convention and hopefully steal the nomination right from under Mr. Perma-smile when his people realize they cannot win without Paul's support.
If you live in the Danville, IL area and wish to join

The Iowa system is complicated. Here is how the delegates are selected.

Precinct caucuses will elect delegates on March 10th's county conventions, which in turn will elect (from their pools of delegate-attendees) delegates to congressional-district conventions and the June 16th state GOP convention, which will in turn elect Iowa’s delegates to the Republican National Convention.
Most importantly, perhaps, Votes for county-convention delegates aren’t too competitive on caucus night, and more attention is paid to national-delegate selection at the later convention votes.

Iowa will eventually elect delegates to the Republican Convention, but only a small percentage of the total 2,286 or 1.2%. And even these are “unbound” delegates, which means they can change their allegiance when they get Tampa in August.

To the best of my knowledge and research, this is how the Iowa system works. I know I wanted to get to the bottom of it, I'm sure some of you did as well.

Cheers,

Rick Santorum says he's a fiscal conservative, but is he?

Just a few notes about Santorum.

Sen. Santorum voted for the bridge to nowhere.

In 2003 he voted to extend Medicare drug benefits to seniors, a vote that conservatives have come to characterize as irresponsible. Santorum admitted to making a mistake on Medicare during a ”Fox News Sunday” appearance.

Santorum a lawyer, didn't even live in the district, or the state he was elected from. He lied about his residency. How's that for honesty?

Rick Santorum claims to be a Strong Pro-Life advocate but he personally endorsed Arlan Spector in 2004. Is Spector a Strong Pro-life advocate?

Spector

Voted NO on restricting UN funding for population control policies.

Voted NO on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP.

Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

Voted YES on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines.

Voted NO on barring HHS grants to organizations that perform abortions.

Voted NO on prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortion

Arlen Spector also helped get ObamaCare passed.

Learn more about About Rick Santorum here.

Even for rape and incest and even for saving the mother’s life. None of them justify abortion in Rick Santorum’s opinion.

Santorum’s views are unapologetically black-and-white. He advocates that any doctor performing an abortion under any circumstances should be criminally charged.

Unless it happens to be Rick Santorum’s wife, and she might have died if not for her 20-week-old fetus being “partial birth” aborted.

In October, 1996, his wife Karen had a second trimester abortion. They don’t like to describe it that way. In his 2004 interview with Terry Gross, Santorum characterizes the fetus, who must be treated as an autonomous person, as a practically a gunslinging threat, whom the mother must murder in self-defense. Karen has had to justify her decision to save her own life by explaining that if she died her other children would have lost a mother.

I've been hearing people say Michelle Bachmann is a Constitutionalist and it makes me cringe a little. Sure Michelle Bachmann might say the right things at times but does she vote that way? Does she have the Constitutional fortitude of Ron Paul?

H.R.3159 Ensuring Military Readiness Through Stability and Predictability Deployment Policy Act of 2007.
Michelle Bachmann voted against beleagured soldiers while Ron Paul votes yes.

H.R.1255 Government Shutdown Prevention Act of 2011: Bachmann, yes. Paul, no

A Bill that would Prohibit TSA from using full-body image scanners as "mandatory or primary" screening devices: Look what Bachmann and West just voted against: Amash/Chaffetz Amendment 2 to H R 207, which prohibits TSA from using full-body image scanners as "mandatory or primary" screening devices. In other words, they can be used only as an option during secondary screening. The amendment failed.
Bachmann voted no, Paul voted yes.

Ten percent across-the-board cut to the Department of Homeland Security's budget: Rokita of IN Amendment 1 to H R 2017 The bill reduces DHS spending only to FY 2009 levels. It failed 110-312. Bachmann voted no, Ron Paul voted yes!

Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2007 - Expands the types of whistleblower disclosures protected from personnel reprisals to include disclosures without restriction as to time, place, form, motive, context, forum, or prior disclosures made to any person by an employee or applicant for employment, including a disclosure made in the ordinary course of an employee's duties, that the employee or applicant reasonably believes is a violation of any law. Backman voted no, Paul voted yes.

H.Con.Res.28 Directing the President, pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution, to remove the United States Armed Forces from Afghanistan
Bachmann voted no, Paul voted yes.

Bachman votes for Internet Censorship: H.R.4279 and H.R.4061 Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2009, Sponsored by John Conyers, (D-MI)
Bachmann voted yes, Paul Voted no.

Bachman voted for almost unlimited Presidential war powers while Ron Paul voted no.

And let's not forget the icing on the cake. The TEA Party Caucus leader Michelle Bachmann voted for the Patriot Act, legislation that takes our freedom and throws it out the window.

Is she really a Constitutionalist?

Cheers,
Can we believe the Newt Gingrich who is currently in the public view? I keep hearing people talk about how well he debates, marveling over his speaking ability and his cuts back at the Media. Is he a rock solid debater? YES. The following is a text book definition for the Concept of Debate.

A debate is, basically, an argument. That is not to say that it is an undisciplined shouting match between parties that passionately believe in a particular point of view. In fact the opposite is true. Debating has strict rules of conduct and quite sophisticated arguing techniques and you will often be in a position where you will have to argue the opposite of what you believe in.

Pay special attention to the last part there. A person who excels at Debate must be able to turn on any issue at any time no matter if they support an issue or not.

In 1997 Gingrich opposed the Brady Gun Control bill but he supported instead the idea of instant verification which relies on the Government having our biometric information on file in order to own firearms.

“I think we prefer to go to instant check on an immediate basis and try to accelerate implementing instant checks so that you could literally check by thumbprint… Instant check is a much better system than the Brady process.” — June 27, 1997

Gingrich's idea of less government, is more government. Newt Gingrich thinks the Federal Government should have our biometrics on file, this could mean fingerprints, Retinal scans or even our DNA. In other words Newt Gingrich thinks Gun Owners should be treated the same as Felons in the United States of America. Is that who we want as President?

Recently Gingrich was quoted as saying, "There is no difference between left wing social engineering and right wing social engineering." But let's look at a presentation Gingrich made while still a Representative. Newt Gingrich listed his primary mission as being the "Advocate of civilization", "Definer of civilization", "Teacher of the rules of civilization" and the "Arouse of those who fan civilization". He then goes on to say, "This retains a primary focus on the elected political power as the central arena and fulcrum by which a free people debate their future and govern themselves."

Does that sound like someone who isn't concerned with any kind of social engineering? It sounds to me like Newt thinks highly of himself. But don't take my word for it. He wrote this about himself, “The most serious, systematic revolutionary of modern times.”

Yes, Newt Gingrich is an excellent debater and that is precisely why I will not support him for President.

Cheers,
