• Your title tag should include your keyword phrases within a readable sentence to avoid this problem.

• Make your title appealing to humans!

Don’t forget that even if you get that top listing in the search engines, our listing still needs to say something that makes the surfer want to click your link and visit your site.

• Since the length of your title tag could cause some engines to crop it, we suggest place the keywords at the beginning of the tag when possible to decrease the risk of having them cut off.

Each page of your site should have its own title tag with its own keywords that relate to the page that it appears on.

5. Optimize the Meta Description Tag

• Give appropriate descriptions (as some search engines display this description in the search result), make it more appropriate to your site. Put only targeted keywords in description. Do not stuff the description with more keywords. Restrict the number of words in this tag to 10 to 15 words.

• Place the most important phrases at the start of the description, so, even if any search engine omits some part of the description, the important phrases will be displayed.

6. Optimize the Meta Keywords Tag

The importance of Meta Tags is debated these days. So this is an optional extra.

Tonight, my new Twitter friend and follower @AlohaArleen was twooted from Twitter for too many tweets! (wow… that was too many “tw’s” in one sentence!) I have to admit it was funny when it was first announced because I really didnt believe it was true. However, when AlohaArleen came back she did indeed say it was. Thankfully, it was only an hour long twooting she received.

Huh? Too many tweets? On Twitter? You’ve got to be kidding me…LOL

I also found this really cool place called Twitter. Now if you thought a baby blogging was strange, wait till you see this place. Mom says I squawk when I want to say something, but over at Twitter, you will see that everyone tweets!

Twitter is a place that anyone can use to quickly leave a short message about exactly what they are doing at that moment. I read about people eating dinner, visiting friends, watching television, and other updates such as blog posts, new website offers, and all sorts of interesting stuff. I started the challenge after my blog had already been set up. I felt it was important that I now go back and teach the rest of you exactly how I got the whole thing started. It really is pretty simple so follow along with me so you can get started too. These are the steps I took to create my self-hosted wordpress blog.

#1. Register a domain name for your blog. This helps brand your name and/or niche better than using free hosted domains. My parents prefer to use GoDaddy. You can too.

#2. Use your new domain name to open a hosting account for your blog. One of the best hosting services available for a reasonable cost is HostGator. They give you unlimited usage for your blog and have a great customer support division if you ever need help. They also use cPanel which is perfect for setting up your word press blog quickly.

#3. Once you have received your welcome email from Hostgator, it will tell you what your nameservers are for your domain name. These nameservers are important and tell the world wide web where everyone can find your domain. So log into your Godaddy account, select Nameservers from your domain menu, select Custom Nameservers and enter in the two names Hostgator provided.

#4 Wait about an hour and you then should be abot to log into your cPanel. This is the control panel that you will use for your hosting account. Hostgator will have let you know what your login details are in the welcome email you received.

#5. Once inside your cPanel, look down the list of icons until you find Fantastico or Fantastico DeLuxe near the bottom. Click this to see the list of scripts that can be added to your website. Find ‘wordpress blog’ on the list and click. This will bring you to an installation page that will, within 2 clicks of your mouse, install wordpress on your domain name.

Follow the simple instructions provided, click install, and voila, you now have your own self hosted wordpress blog ready to start making money!

I was feeling a little icky today. Getting a cold when you are only 3 weeks old is not very much fun. Mom seems to have trouble wiping my little nose and I have no clue what she means when she tells me to “blow”, but I guess I will learn that at some point since it seemed quite important to her that I try. (Dad told her she was nuts.)

So here is what I did today:

1. Posted my new blog at Digital Point, asking for people to review the theme I used, the content, and the perspective it was written in. I didn’t get alot of posted feedback, but I definitely received a good amount of visitors.

Hot Tip: How can I tell I received visitors you may ask? Easy! A little trick I learned from watching dad is to add the WassUp plugin to my blog. This nifty plugin shows me all my traffic and updates the stats whenever I wish.
