Clyde is a busy camel come the holiday season, which got started on Friday night at Caldwell's Winter Wonderland tree-lighting. "I'll take him almost anywhere we're invited," says owner Gary Drake, who bottle-raised Clyde since he was six weeks old — Clyde is 10 years old now. Clyde was curiously and gently interested in anyone who was interested in him.

The sunset creates a geometric pattern reflected in the University Quay building on Broadway Thursday evening. Photographing this building is a lot like shooting the Grand Canyon – you never see the same color or light no matter when you shoot.

I was reminded this weekend, amid our spectacular fall weather, that all the glorious colors and cool mornings and the rich blue skies have a cost: raking up all those darn leaves.

They don't call Boise the "City of Trees" for nothing, and the leaves aren't just going to rake themselves. This rake was poised at-the-ready in Boise's East End.

HONOLULU - When Boise State plays four time-zones to the west, it presents a unique challenge challenge in getting photos back to Boise in time to make printing-press deadlines. On Saturday I had until 10:30 to make the first deadline. That’s less than an hour-and-a-half to shoot, download, edit, and transmit all the photos the paper needs (around 10) for Sunday’s edition.
