For starters, it is a natural extension of content marketing and it is NOT a bad thing. It’s really just another smart way to do SEO right. To newsjack is to contribute to the conversation on highly visible breaking news relevant to one’s own industry.

How To Newsjack:

1) Pay attention to breaking news

2) Identify the keywords being searched for related to the breaking news

3) Produce high-quality content relevant to your business incorporating the keywords you have identified

4) Syndicate content quickly so that it can be found by other media outlets

For instance, if breaking news is “President Obama Releases Budget”, you can write about how the new budget may affect your specific industry using the keywords you’ve carefully researched. Then people who are searching for the news might see your content and become interested in your business!

Newsjacking leverages breaking news and the search demand on the corresponding keywords to gain visibility in the search rankings. Give it a try!

The post What is Newsjacking? Panda is a project Google runs to find duplicate content across the web and remove it from their search results. It will now become a constant part of Google’s real-time algorithm. This means that Panda’s impact on your website may be harder to detect.

Cutts explains, “Rather than having some huge change that happens on a given day, you’re more likely in the future to see Panda deployed gradually as we’re rebuilding the index, so you’re less likely to see these large scale sorts of changes.” First released in February 2011, Panda is Google’s algorithm aimed at surfacing high-quality sites higher in search results.

For more information about the history of Panda, read this Search Engine Land article. We will continue to stay ahead of the curve and keep you in the know about how changes in search engine marketing may affect your website.

The post March Madness: New Google Panda Refresh Sweeps Over the Internet appeared first on SEO in Miami, FL.

Did You Know That 50% of Businesses Still Don’t Have a Website?

Web Design in Coral Gables

web design Coral Gables

Web Design Fort Lauderdale

Web design Miami

Website Designers in South Florida

50% of businesses don’t have a website! More than 800 companies were surveyed between December 2012 and February 2013. Of the 800 companies surveyed, 71% of businesses plan to increase their digital marketing budgets and those businesses plan to increase their budget by 28%, on average.

What does this mean for you? Online marketing is an important marketing channel and will be growing in importance throughout 2013. Interestingly, among the various online marketing opportunities, content marketing is the big winner. 70% of businesses surveyed are increasing their content marketing budgets, putting content marketing in the lead. SEO and email marketing are close behind content marketing with 65% of businesses increasing those budgets in 2013. Content marketing and SEO work hand-in-hand to earn new customers for you.

Another fun fact: According to eMarketer, a top marketing industry data compilation company, worldwide online sales reached the $1 Trillion milestone in 2012. What’s more, eMarketer predicts that e-commerce sales will grow to $1.3 trillion in 2013.
