Some people give the the looks of “as-if-I-can-crash-a-plane-by-using-my-laptop” and the other just give me the typical “Oh”. Some people give me the looks “that-is-a-green-occupation” and some other just give me the typical “Oh”

Software Engineering itself is a harsh field, that consists of computers, cubicles, lines of codes and many sad overwork nights.. that the harsh part that many of this blog reader could relate to, and bout the good parts.. many of you would just close this page if I start to explain the magic of suddenly dissapearing variables, the horror of bugs, the exciting feelings related to line of codes that can solve many people problems, the orgasmic feeling of finding O(1) algorithm for a searching function. (see.. I only mention the outlines, but the thing you can think of are “Close.. close.. close damnit!”).

OK I’ll give you something you can relate to about this good part of being Software Engineer. It is the feeling of a father (or mother) when they see their child graduated and become someone good. Yup exactly that kind of feeling! How you ask? well Software Engineering is a combination of product and service industry, we dwelve alot in the making of a Software that we hope it can help people, easing their life, relieve them from problems and give them a good night sleep (I know that is a very idealist point of view) but have you ever trapped with hundreds of data and how Excel can give you a good night sleep? or how you want to manage an online store without the hassle of creating static contents and track many of Invoices and POs? or do you can imagine how celebrities without Photoshop?

I don’t write Excel nor Photoshop, but some of Softwares that I wrote has grown somewhere and help people from their problems (or still give them the same problem with at least a better User-Interface ) that one of the good feeling of being a software engineer.

Yeah.. that’s what exactly what I do.

Aku tahu itu menyebalkan, dulu pernah muda dan memiliki banyak teman-teman yang kebahagiaan-nya didikte oleh orang tua, dan mereka bercerita kalau itu sangat menyebalkan.

Dan aku bersyukur kalau orang tua aku menyerahkan semua keputusan hidup sama aku sendiri, walau kadang-kadang mengarahkan yang terdengar seperti usaha untuk meng-override pilihan hidup itu.

Cuma dalam kasus dua adik kecil itu, betapa aku ingin ikut campur dalam keputusan penting di hidup mereka, karena menjalani hidup 10 tahun lebih awal dan merasa mengetahui hal-hal penting soal kehidupan. Apa yang baik untuk mereka, apa yang buruk dan apa jalan tengahnya.

Keblaguan, Hanya karena lahir 10-20 tahun lebih awal

Mencoba membuat jalan yang mulus untuk masa depan mereka, memikirkannya dan mengarahkannya, pendidikan apa yang mesti mereka ambil demi cita-cita mereka. Tapi salah satu dari mereka hari ini gagal, dan aku sedih.

Tapi itu membuat aku menyadari sesuatu…

Adik-adik-ku lebih tahu yang terbaik untuk mereka, Tuhan lebih tahu jalan untuk mereka dan plot atas rejeki masing-masing, bukan aku yang tahu.

Mereka lebih tahu apa yang bisa bikin mereka bahagia, bukan aku.

Dan jalan yang aku buat didepan mereka itu tidak boleh dipaksa untuk mereka lewati, karena merekalah yang akan menjalaninya, dengan kemampuan dan hati masing-masing. bukan aku yang melewatinya.

Mau aku membuatnya semulus mungkin atas idealisasi aku soal kebahagiaan, yang harus menjalani jalan itu kan mereka.

Aku hanya orang ketiga tunggal yang melihat dari jauh bagaimana mereka harus menjalani hidup ini, dan mengajarkan mereka bahwa hidup punya banyak kejutan.

Aku harus berhenti mendikte kebahagiaan mereka , dan mulai mengamati mereka dari jarak aman, dan siap-siap menangkap kalau mereka jatuh.

Itu saja aku rasa, dan ini sebuah janji

Dan sang dinosaurus-merah cuma dengan keterkejutan bertanya “Serius?”, “Beneran?”. di twitter mendengar pengumuman saya yang berencana untuk liburan ke Jakarta.

Jakarta ya?

Beberapa bulan yang lalu saya ga pernah bisa memikirkan kalau Jakarta akan menjadi tempat tujuan favorit saya untuk berlibur, awh come on macetnya, polusinya, trafficnya, transportasinya.. jakarta keras bung!! masa dipake liburan! tapi semenjak ada dinosaurus-warna-merah yang masuk ke dalam hidup saya, lirik lagu ini mengalun tiap saya berpikir “Jakarta”

Ah.. kalau dia sih mudah menjadikan tempat saya her favorite place, Bali gitu loh! digigit dinosaurus merah

Okee.. ga cuma bagian gesture sederhana untuk bikin dia spesial aja sih, I admit I miss her (padahal baru ketemu bulan lalu..) Now.. Now.. Kamu tahu bagian merindukan itu tidak ditentukan oleh berapa lama saya ga ketemu sama dia. Tapi ditentukan oleh di tiap hal-hal kecil yang saya lakukan, saya memiringkan kepala ke kanan dan membayangkan andai ada dia disisi itu, nah.. kalau sudah kaya gitu.. dokter manapun bebas mendiagnosis saya dengan kangen stadium tinggi.

So daripada kangen berubah jadi kangker, mending ke Jakarta aja kan? kebetulan beberapa hari sebelumnya dinosaurus-merah cerita kalau dia pengen nonton “Oceans” nya Disney tapi ga ada temennya yang mau nemenin.

Makanya dia ga percaya waktu saya bilang mau nemenin…

Perjalanan itu dimulai jum’at malam, dan Hotel Daan Mogot tempat saya selalu menginap kalau datang ke Jakarta selalu setia menyambut saya. Seakan-akan sudah menjadi rumah ke-3 selain Bandung dan Bali. disambut oleh hujan deras yang bikin saya ber-melankolis semi excited karena besoknya akan ketemu dinosaurus-merah.

Dulu saya suka amazed sama orang yang jatuh cinta, maksudnya bagaimana perasaan yang mereka rasakan sama seseorang bisa setara sama ke keluarga dan sahabat. Padahal orang itu mungkin baru sebentar bergabung dalam hidup, padahal keluarga dan sahabat sudah ada disana selama bertahun-tahun

Dan begitu melihat dia tersenyum di sabtu pagi yang indah, perjalanan 1200km itu worth it!, dan itu membuat saya berpikir

Ini ya.. sesuatu yang orang2 tulis dalam novel2 itu, yang mereka filmkan dalam film2 itu, yang dinyanyikan dengan nada, yang dibacakan dalam syair2..

Perasaan sederhana yang akhirnya saya rasakan.

Bandung

Well, semua begitu mendadak… jadi ga bisa merencanakan banyak acara khusus sama temen-’ade’-sahabat-saudara di kota kelahiran tercinta itu, tapi tentunya jalan-jalan shopping sama kuliner sih sudah menjadi sesuatu yang wajib dilakukan..

Sedikit menyesal karena pancake, batagor, mie ayam, baso, surabi keju, roti bakar, masakan rumah, sambel spesial, stik NHI dan beberapa makanan lain nampak menambah cukup banyak lemak di perut

Dan ada satu kegiatan yang kayaknya worth-to-be-posted terjadi…

Malam minggu di SMUN 19 Bandung

Sahabat gw mengajak gw untuk main ke SMUN 19 Bandung tercinta di malam hari karena kebetulan saat itu sedang ada program pelantikan Palang Merah Remaja di sekolah.

Jadi gw pikir ini adalah kesempatan bagus untuk memfoto estetisme SMUN 19 di waktu malam dan mencoba memfoto wilayah-wilayah yang terkenal horor

Nah, lucunya waktu panitia “Pelantikan” lagi rapat, kita alumni-alumni yang iseng-iseng dateng dipanggil untuk ikut memberikan masukan tentang bagaimana program “Pelantikan” yang baik dan benar

So somehow kita merewrite rute Jurit Malam yang tadinya mudah, singkat dan padat menjadi sedikit menelusuri sawah-dan-hutan, dari acara yang direncanakan cuma 1-2 jam menjadi semalam suntuk tanpa tidur. Memperbanyak pendidikan “mental” dan materi-materi “kebersamaan” yang memang sedikit memberikan tekanan batin hehehe

Ah, kami memang alumni yang moderately kejam. But they’ll thank us someday

It's 01:00 in the morning

Nah keterlibatan gw dalam acara ini tidak direncanakan apalagi besoknya gw mesti took-a-flight untuk kembali ke Bali, so bisa dibayangkan gw yang pake setelan yang sungguh sangat Urban (gw pake washed out jeans, jaket semi resmi dengan bahan jas, tas selempang jeans dan sandal) mesti menembus sungai, hutan dan sawah di jam 02:00 dini hari demi mensurvey rute yang akan dilewati ade-ade calon PMR itu

Hope you all grow into a strong PMR :)

Tidak tidur sama sekali, melihat mereka dimarahi, dibentak, diuji level solidaritasnya, dan bagaimana mereka mesti memegang prinsip mereka di situasi lelah, tertekan dan disudutkan. I’ve been in such condition, and walau pas menjalaninya gw misuh-misuh, tapi many years later semua itu ada gunanya, it define who you are

It was fun dan besoknya dengan sangat mengantuk terbang kembali ke Bali dari Jakarta.. back to reality

Bandung

I finally can go home to Bandung, and meet my family kinda miss them, specially my brother and sister.

Well this brother of mine having this “deciding future” stage now, since he is about to face the most dreaded-evil-system human can build (UAN .red). So I have to be there to guide him in these

And this little sister of mine, kind of refuse to talk to me on the phone, my mom said she having some problem at school or something. Knowing her that she is as special as me in thinking and took problems. I have to be there and teach her bout our special life too

Not to mention I have a new nephew, someone who for all my life being an older sister that God does not give me, now is having a baby girl. Gotta took a picture of her.

And my sister ask me to propose for a good name. Hmm I think I’ll propose

Excessive Energy

And I guess I have too many excessive energy, my hand cannot stop hitting stuff. Back then when I was in college and senior high, I have this favorite brick wall on my way home for me to hit by bare hand, at first I somehow broke my arm, and it’s kind of habitual thingy now. Guess this is because those martial art I took when I was young.

The brick wall itself are now destroyed (no.. not my fault.. I think..), and recently I destroyed my 2 year old wardrobe >_<

Some people reading this will think that I am abusive or something, well.. cannot prove the otherwise to you.. but know me better, you’ll know I am not

Disappointed

A bit pissed-off, when someone on the place you work for these 2-years did not do anything related to your urgent request to took leave. But then it subsides, since my leave finally approved. I am going home today

And last week was MCP Exam time, it’s kind of hectic since I have so many tasks. But somehow I manage.. and it’s kind of easy have I tell you that I tend to be lucky in multiple choices? yeap.. I am lucky with multiple choices. And lucky to have you friends that foolinnocent enough to think that I am smart, while I just merely lucky menjuwa lagi.

Ah, and I took IELTS simulation last week, and somehow it’s not in multiple choices. So I am not sure bout the result though, I have a huge confidence on it though.

Papaya

And yes, I’ve diminished my fear of Papaya, by eating it. Some people ask why did I fear of Papaya in the 1st place? It’s was a complicated occurrence happened 10 years (or so) ago. So It was started on a cold morning of Bandung..

Sel penangkap partikel bersiap jika saja harumnya sempat singgah. (Partikel itu adalah harum favorit)

Dan semua jaringan bekerja maksimal jika saja dia membutuhkannya sewaktu-waktu sehingga energi harus selalu dikirim tiap detiknya untuk mempertahankan tubuh ini tetap hidup. (pertahanan hidup yang menyebalkan, tetap favorit)

Jadi itu alasan kenapa jantung berdetak lebih kencang ? (dilema bagi sistem tubuh tentunya, dilematis getir favorit)

Itu cinta ya? (bukan pilihan tentunya, menyakitkan nampaknya? dan selalu favorit)
