I interviewed Tony Pisculli about the "Magic Spreadsheet" the only thing in the entire history of history that has gotten me to write every day since Dec. 3 (nearly 24000 words). I've written on sick days, travel days, residency days, and holidays. It may not work for everyone but it's sure as hell worked for me. I had a great time at blogworld/BEA last week. New York remains awesome. I also met with my editor and team at Orbit, which was a fantastic experience.

I found out that the audio captured at Balticon for ISBW 252 was lost in a great fire. Or something great. Anyway, it's gone, which leaves the question, do I leave it for the world to remember, or record something and call THAT 252?

I'm catching up on interviews, future weeks will have John Scalzi, Adam Christopher, and more.

This one was tough to do. I'm pretty closed to as privileged as you can be (I'm a female non-Christian, that's about it), so the chances to offend/get something incredibly wrong are large. But that's the point. People are afraid to write about other races, other genders, other sexual orientations, other ages, other nationalities, because they're afraid to get it wrong, afraid they will offend someone. But it needs to be talked about. It needs to be written about. It makes you a better writer because you work will better reflect the world we live in, and it will make your work available to a wider audience.
