OK that was cheesy sorry. Anyway, some changes are on the horizon. I have a little too much free time right now, so I’m going to implement some changes to the blog. The free version of WordPress has served me very well, but there are some fun things I want to do and can’t on this version. So I have found a wallet friendly host (with Renee’s help) and will be making the move as soon as I figure it all out. So please stick with me as I get all of this going. Hopefully I won’t screw anything up too badly in the process.

But, since times are tough and businesses are closing left and right, I feel that if you’re going to spend money to eat out, it’s a great idea to support the local restaurants. OK this is a really rare deal so if you want one of these I would order it now! There’s been som speculation as to whether or not the price of the Nintendo DS Lite will come down now that a new model is being released. From what I’m reading it doesn’t sound like it will come down very much from it’s normal price of $129 because the new version will be about $169. Dell Home has the Colbalt/Black and Crimson/Black on sale for $104 with code. If you use a Dell Preferred Account you will save an additional 3%. With tax it is about $109 shipped.

Life without TV (sort of)

I’ve toyed with the idea of cutting my cable completely off or almost off for a long time. Losing my job made it instantly more appealing. So, as of yesterday I have about ten channels. I prepared my children and they took it pretty well. My younger son didn’t quite understand what I meant, but he got it pretty quick. Interestingly enough, I’m taking it a lot harder than they are. I reminded them that they could watch some of their favorite shows on the internet and that they would still have PBS which is their favorite anyway. They haven’t asked to watch anything on the computer.

I ended up watching two episodes of House that I’d missed because I couldn’t deal with daytime talk shows and wasn’t motivated to do any house work. Tonight they didn’t even ask to turn on the TV and instead sat right down with a book. They do that a lot anyway, but the TV was always on for noise.

So, as most people who make this choice find, it’s not so bad. I can’t promise you that once my financial situation improves I won’t turn it back on. I probably will. I really miss Bravo and their shows aren’t always on the web.

It’s called The Disney Keys to Excellence. While it sounds really interesting at $399 I won’t be able to make it!
