was 18 when she started creating lipstick. "I couldn’t find any I
liked," she says. "I wanted lipsticks that gave me the look of the
1940’s. Rich, opaque and filled with pigment." Her line, <a href="http://www.lipstickqueen.com" target="_blank">Lipstick Queen</a>, is total glamour, and her inspiration board is awesome and fascinating.<br />
							<br />
							For spring, I'm loving her <a href="http://www.lipstickqueen.com/product_frame.htm" target="_blank">Shine</a> line of hard-core gloss ($22). Inspired by <a href="http://www.lipstickqueen.com/productpages/shine.htm" target="_blank">the sexual revolution of the 1970s</a>,
Poppy says these glosses are designed "with an extra surge of female
prowess." They come in Saint and Sinner colors, and I tried out Gold
Saint, which gave me an amazing golden sparkle -- perfect for
non-lipstick wearers who just want a super-shiny pout.</span></span></span>

<br /><span style="color: #2f4f4f;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">
							<br />
							I also experimented with Lipstick Queen's <a href="http://www.lipstickqueen.com/productpages/fame.htm" target="_blank">Pop Art Gloss</a> ($18, pictured), inspired by the Pop Art movement and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Warhol" target="_blank">Andy Warhol</a>,
who predicted in 1968 that "In the future everyone will be world-famous
for fifteen minutes." There are 15 shades in this line, one for each
minute of fame that Warhol mentioned. I tried "8 minutes," a
delightfully in-the-middle strawberry color. This one has no shimmer,
no stickiness -- just pure, popping color.<br />
							<br />
							Check out all of Poppy's products <a href="http://www.lipstickqueen.com/productpages/products.htm">here</a>. She even has a sheer black gloss and lipstick called "Black Tie Optional" that I'm dying to try soon. I just can't get enough.</span></span></span></div>
