In the case of u/uno_name_left, it's demonstrated immaculately, with this particular person asking cat parents to send him silly pictures of their cats, and he… well, you know how it is. Silly cats must receive a silly art treatment. Especially if the picture contains cat bums and tails.

But with all honesty, as hissterically hilarious as it is, it's not surprising to us. We already know that the online feline family is funny, because cat people are seriously the funniest people online. Or this very round void cat who was rushed to the vet only to receive the diagnosis of "fat cat", sending the feline-loving folks online into a series of joke-making that had us holding our stomachs in laughter. One of our favorite things about cats is that nothing stops them from creating chaos. Nothing at all.

Cats adapt. That's one of the coolest things about them. They have one goal in life. That goal is chaos. And they chase that goal without letting anything get in their way. Absolutely nothing can stop them from committing crimes. A cat with three legs will use all three of them for chaos and not even notice it's missing a fourth. A blind cat will use its super hearing to commit the purrfect crime, especially if it includes screaming and running over our stomachs at 3 AM. You would think that a broken leg would put a paws on feline shenanigans like these, but no, not even that can make it happen.

This is something that has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt on r/cats when Bug's story was put up. Bug, as he was being rescued from a drain pipe, sprained one of his paws, and the vets had to put him in a cast. Cats who are abandoned do not usually find homes within the first 24hrs of their stray life. Largely due to the fact that they are frozen with fear and usually hiding themselves really well until they feel somewhat safe enough to move about. But in this story our rescue is swift and immediate.

You see this story from Reddit's r/cats subreddit is a wonderfully special example of what can happen if a rescuer can get to an abandoned cat fast enough. Now, when we say fast enough we mean within seconds of the dumping happening. Otherwise the cat will likely run off to hide as detailed above.

So of course it is the case that most of the time it is unfeasible for a rescuer to turn up right as a cat is being abandoned. But in this story we are lucky enough to actually see this act of purrfect timing in action and how it was able to save a scared cat from succumbing to the streets and had him placed in a warm and loving home with fluffy sheets instead. A truly happy ending to make up for a sad and sorrow-filled beginning.

Cats adopt their humans. In the cat community, this is not merely an idea- it is a statement of fact. You may think, when you walk into a shelter, that you have some choice in the matter, that you get to decide, but no, you don't. You may never get to the shelter in the first place, because a cat will decide to adopt you when you're on a walk outside. You never know when or how it will happen, but once it does - once you are chosen, resistance is futile.

Countless times, we have seen people who "hate cats" get chosen by them and fall in love. They may resist for a while. They may try to hold onto this idea of cat hatred. But cats don't give their humans a choice in the matter. Cats adopt, and we adjust, and then, we realize just how lucky we are to have been chosen by them. Here is a list of appropriate things to throw away in a garbage bag: Food scraps, wrapping paper, empty chip bags, scribbled-on pieces of paper, popped balloons, pens that ran out of ink, and your cat's fur after you brush them. You know what's not on this list? A cat. Or a kitten. Or any living creature, for that matter. We'll never understand people who think it's okay to throw away a kitten in a garbage bag and just leave it there. We're not big on punishment, but if there was any action that deserved a harsh punishment, it should be that one.

Discarded like trash, a newborn kitten was thrown away with its umbilical cord still attached, according to our cat lover's story in Reddit's r/Kittens subreddit. The rescuer's quick thinking saved this kitten's life, by bringing to a veterinarian quickly and getting it on kitten formula. It's now two weeks later, the kitten has finally opened her eyes and is now curious about her new home and the hoomans around her. Thankfully, for Harley (the kitten), this story has a happy ending, but this isn't the case with every discarded cat or kitten.

We wrote an article a few days ago about Turkey and its relationship with its stray cats. The cats there are treated with respect, and they even have laws protecting them from crimes against them caused by hoomans. How did they manage this? By declassifying cats as "property" and reclassifying them as "living beings". It's crazy to us that still, in 2026, this isn't the standard everywhere. They may not speak the same language as us, but they still feel and they do not deserve to be discarded like litter.

We hope that one day soon, cats will have hte same universal protections everywhere, and purrhaps, people will learn to be a little kinder.

Cats are fabulous, and so is Pride Month. Coincidence? We think not.

Not only is June "National Cat Adoption month", but it's also Pride Month. The one month a year when LGBTQ people celebrate with parades, parties, and demonstrations all around the world. They may look frivolous and flamboyant on the outside, but their history is much harsher. It all started in June 1969, when police raided Stonewall Inn in New York City. The LGBTQIA+ community rioted and protested for days after, leading to the national recognition of our community and what we call Pride Month today.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, "But what does this have to do with cats?", and we have the purrfect answer. There are many documented cases of gay relationships in animals, most notably in sheep (where around 10% of sheep are considered gay), and also in penguins! We also have some purrsonal evidence to submit - one of our cats is gay. Even after being sterilized, he's only been interested in men. He hisses at anything female, and is suspiciously sweet with other male cats and hooman guys. What other explanation can there be other than that he's a little… you know.

But even if your cats aren't gay, they can still support their LGBTQIA+ pawrents. They love them more than any other hooman, and below, they're purroudly representing them with all the gay apparel their pawrents could find.

Remember that Pride Month is about inclusivity - it's not about excluding those who aren't part of the community. It's about love, acceptance, and being fabulous. The fact that both cats and Pride Month are fabulous is too close to be a coincidence, if you ask us. We think they've always been supporters, now we just have the social media posts to prove it.

Monday meowrnings are the purrfect time for cuddling your cats. Your alarm goes off, you groggily wake up and feel your cat's fluffy body curled up against yours. You hug them closer, and realize you can't find their head. After rubbing the cobwebs from your eyes, you see that they are relaxing in the shape of a twisty-bobcat-pretzel. If they can manage to be comfy like that, then we can stay in bed for a few minutes longer, right?

One of the most hissterical parts of being a cat owner is finding your cat sleeping (or even relaxing) in pawsitions that are not hoomanly pawssible to relax in. It's a running joke in the cat community that all of our cats come in both liquid and solid states, meaning that they can randomly become thick, normal objects to lift, or basically just a sack of bones and fluids. In their liquid state, we often say that they have noodles for bones because their bones seem to bend in any direction without any resistance. The only bad part is you don't get to choose when your cat is in its liquid or solid state, it's some sort of inner meowchanism that our hooman brains can't comprehend.

Because of the fluid state of our felines, we often find them looking like we didn't read the instructions properly when assembling them. More than that, they look like a hooman chiropractor's nightmare. Their spines are purrfectly flexible, with nearly double the number of vertebrae than we hoomans have. Even though it's relaxing for them, it can be slightly stressful for us. When you can't find your cat's head and can only see limbs, you can't help but think the worst for a few seconds.

We always say the one thing that could make every purrformance better is a cat, but this ballet performance of Romeo & Juliet in Turkey actually got one.

Turkey has the most wonderful relationship with its country's cats. It's the ultimate destination for cat lovers (and for hair transplants, but that's a different story). The citizens there love and care for the stray cats, and there are even lots of laws protecting them. Community animals in Turkey cannot be captured or put down, they must be fed, sterilized, and then returned to their neighborhoods. They're a part of the citizens' lives, and it's not abnormal for them to randomly join into the hoomans' activities, but one stray orange cat decided that it was his turn in the limelight.

Whether by accident or on purrpose, the little orange stray found himself on stage during a ballet purrformance of Romeo & Juliet. The dancers, unphased, continued on with the purrformance as if nothing was there, which is not something we could do if a cat was trying to eat our hair while we were resting on stage.

Some argue that the brain cell-less kitty interrupted the purrformance, but we think he enhanced it. If you think about it, there were probably lots of stray cats during that time period, so it seems more historically accurate that a cat would wander up to a poisoned Romeo, and loaf on him while he was still warm.

One thing is fur sure, though, is that this cat stole the show. The video of his star purrformance is going viral on X right now thanks to @Yoda4ever 's post depicting the whole thing. Purrhaps this is the key to getting more people into ballet performances nowadays, simply add cats and see how the audience and dancers react. We might be on to something!

Senior cats deserve a home, too.

We get it, everyone wants a kitten. They're tiny, they're floofy, they're playful, and purrfectly adorable. Kittens are great. But, they also make a mess of your house, keep you up all night for at least a few months, and can be a handful, to say the least. Not every home environment is suitable for kittens, also. Do you travel a lot? Work long hours? Like to make spontaneous plans? If so, then a kitten isn't for you. But what do you do if you still want a cute kitty to cuddle with?

There's one simple answer: adopt a senior cat. Senior cats can be alone for long periods of time, are often quite independent, but still love your companionship. Most of the time, they just want to eat in peace, sleep, and give you love. They are more grateful than kittens, who are still learning about the world and will never really understand the difference between the shelter and your home. Senior cats, however, will thank you every day for taking them out of the scary, crowded shelter, into your quiet and loving home. That's never more apparent than in @seniorcatmk's Instagram post.
