Life has taken a 180 degree turn at the end of last week & been insanely busy with work ever since. Been sketching non-stop -- have concepts and drafts floating in my head 24/7. Minds sure like to create!

Freelance life is almost predictably unpredictable -- just when I thought I couldn't be any busier, Ernie (bless his heart) brought me three new accounts over the weekend. Kind of makes up for a snail paced last week when both of my projects were delayed by several days… you win some you lose some I guess (I sure prefer the 'winning some' part).

In other (non)news, inspired by some old Pakistani jewelry I happened upon in an old box a week ago, I've been feeling a tad more colorful than usual. I tend to tire of bright colors rather easily, but after a whole week my current love for blue Asian knick-knacks is still undying (though I think it's time to retire the blue nail polish).

And that's all the time I had for blogging today.

Small talk is such a great way to give my currently overflowing mind (working on several concepts at once does that) a little break but I'm afraid it's time to get back to work. I'm out the door to a meeting, then back to more sketching and hopefully in for a good night's sleep.

Such a strange week

Time is moving at such an odd pace this week. Like I am in a different time stream or something. It's been overcast, with the lack of sunlight making every hour of the day feel the same, creating sort of an off-beat mood which (I think?) I like.

Otherwise not much is new, I am about to make a cup of jasmine tea here then go meet Ernie for a cup of coffee.

Been drinking a lot of tea lately. Tea & rain go well together.

This particular jasmine tea is so great. So aromatic!

If I had to give up coffee that's what I'd be drinking all the time. Or chai with cinnamon:

For the record, nails & chai aren't matching on purpose (duh) -- other than that I've been loving everything coffee-colored lately, and that does include nails.

Love browns so very much.

And grays. I imagine grays and browns are to me what pink is to most of the female populace.

What a slow week. Been feeling so old (found my very first gray hair the other day so I guess I am officially old but that's not what I am talking about… just this general sluggishness the week's been). Looks like the sun is out this morning though, hope it dries up the seats on the patio by the time I get to the cafe.

Muggy days, clothes small talk

Every year, just as the weather starts getting this muggy, I question my sanity for choosing to live down here [F l o r i d a ].

(A gallon of ice tea + multiple showers + industrial strength talcum powder do get you through the day just fine though.)

Found an unopened pack of tanks left over from a couple of years ago.

Sure hope they still sell these: best colors ever!

The discovery of these tanks, coinciding with this sticky weather has rendered me completely uninspired to wear anything else.

Swapping out shoes, bags and sunglasses is about as creative as I have gotten lately:

That old world travel feel!!!

Just a glance at these sends me off to so many worlds all at once… sleeping under the stars with my old friends (those were the days), reading Herman Hesse, my good old hitchhiking days, a Singapore Sling on the veranda of the Raffles, reading Kipling, Asian villages, monasteries, living out of a suitcase… what are these bags doing to me? I love them so much!!!
