To insert a simple HTML Coding for an image that links to a website (when the image/photo is clicked it directs to another website or another page of your site), the following is a general pattern:

1) [ YOUR SITE / LANDING PAGE URL HERE ] will be your blog's URL/address; when people click on the image they will be directed or brought to your site.

2) [ target="_blank" ] will open a new window to your site when the photo is clicked. Change 'blank' to 'top' if you want them to open in the same window.

3) [ ALTERNATE TEXT ] is the text that will appear in case the photo URL is not loading yet, because sometimes photos do not load always due to bandwidth reasons.. so, think of a text that will represent the photo or your site (usually it's the website name).

4) [ IMAGE URL HERE ] is the file address of your image. Your image/photo should have been uploaded in image hosting sites like flickr, photobucket, picasaweb.

5) [width="420" height="137"] adjust your image or photo size by changing the width and height values; if you want to use your original uploaded image size, just remove the whole code [width="420" height="137"].

Notes:

a. if you are inserting a photo/image from your computer to your blog post... after inserting the photo/image, go to "Edit HTML" tab and change the URL next to the code href=" , as in Step 1 above.

b. if you are inserting a photo/image in the sidebars or top/bottom bars of your blog specifically in blogger, you can either insert through the "Layout", then "Add a Gadget", choose "Picture" and enter the data asked; or choose "Java/HTML" gadget and enter the HTML code as in the pattern above.

A sample image/photo HTML coding below directs users to the site, "You're Beautiful Episodes", when the image is clicked. Notice the values/parameters I entered in blue text. The original image size is 500x400 pixels, but I made it 50% smaller, maintaining the WxH ratio as to not distort the image.

To stop auto posting/publishing Facebook applications recent activity feed to your News Feeds, just follow the steps below:

1) Click the Account drop down menu located at the top right area (as per new FB Home Page, updated February 2010), then, go to Applications Settings, as shown below.

*Application Settings - Recently Used page (as in the snapshot below) will then be loaded, listing all the applications you use in Facebook (example: Farmville, World Cafe, Mafia Wars, etc.). The application with the "X" button at the right column are those applications that you've previous approved to be bookmarked and have access to your data; clicking the "X" button will stop the access to your Facebook data and the application will be removed from your profile, bookmarks, and Applications Page (in the list below).

2) In the Applications Page, click Edit Settings of the application you want to stop posting /publishing recent activity feeds. The Edit Application Settings pop-up window will then show with the Bookmark Tab as default. You can also uncheck that option if you like to remove the application from your bookmark icons.

3) In the Edit Application Setting pop-up window (as shown below), click the Additional Permissions tab, then UNCHECK "Publish to streams". That action will then stop auto posting/publishing of a Facebook application's recent activity feed to your News/Live Feed.

How do I buy an item on Ebay?

I found item I want, now I guess the dumb question is, if I want it, just enter the minimum bid and wait? Not that I forsee it but can I withdraw my bid at some point?

Well, first thing first --- create an ebay account.

Search for the item you'd like to buy or bid.

You can directly by an item if it has the "Buy Now" bottom.

You need to bid on an item when it displays a "Minimum Bid" amount.

Tip: do not right away bid at a higher amount when the bidding end date is still far; this is to control the end bid at a lower price, unless, you want to secure your bid to get the item.

I haven't tried withdrawing a bid, but I'm sure you'll get a bad rating if you don't pursue or buy your item if you won the bid. I have tried though, to contact the seller days before the end date and informed him that I cant continue bidding and ask for an apology. He acknowledge and accepted my reasons and just relist the item again for bidding, without giving me a bad rating.

To add pictures to your Facebook Profile Pictures:
From Facebook "Home" page...
1. Click your profile picture.
2. Click "View Photos of Me" located just below your profile picture.
3. Browse down to the bottom of page and click "Profile Pictures"
4. Click "Change Profile Picture" (don't worry, it won't delete your existing profile picture).
5. Browse down and click "Browse" tab at the Upload Picture section.
6. Locate the photo you want to add; then, check box for "I certify that I have the right to distribute this picture and that it does not violate the Terms of Use."
7. Click "Upload Picture" tab. It automatically make the newly uploaded picture your profile picture.

I just bought a used laptop and its full of files, how and which can I delete?
So I bought a laptop today and the guy who owned it completely filled the c drive with folders inside of folders. Some of them seem important, but its hard to pick out which ones I actually need, I dont even know what half these programs are. But I dont want to end up deleting something and not being able to use the computer. Is there a way to just completely delete everything that isnt necessary and start over with a fresh clean windows vista??

Uninstall programs that you don't need through the Control Panel, and always choose to Completely Uninstall so it will automatically remove all the related files and folders. With regards to the personal files of the previous owner, just empty the My Document Files (Videos, Music Pictures and Document Folders). These folders are basically non system files. Music and video files can also be directly deleted from Windows Media Player Library, by opting to delete completely from computer.That's the safest thing I can do, when you can't opt for OS reformat. Well, upgrading the Hard Disk Disk Drive capacity can be done in different options:

1) Replacing your Hard Disk Drive to a bigger storage capacity 250GB~max available), but you need to back-up or save your files in order to transfer them to the new one.

2) Some units have the expandable features, where you can add Hard Disk Drive without removing the existing one. Usually you can see an extra slot in the casing for additional drives.

3) Buying External Disk Drive with even much bigger capacity, and not having to remove your exisiting files.

It will then depend to your preference, but if I am to choose, I'd opt for the External Disk Drive, since it would also offer great flexibility and hassle in installation coz it's just a plug and play function. Reducing file size of pictures/image files is needed in uploading activities that require file size limits and even when saving downloaded pictures/images from High resolution digital cameras.

First, determine your picture/image file type – Bitmap (.bmp) & PNG (.png). You can verify this by browsing to your picture/photo files. If your default files do not show the .bmp, .jpg or .png strings as shown in the sample below,

then, do the following:

a. Right-Click the file and Left-Click to choose Properties.

b. Check the file type as shown below:

Reducing File Type Size without Reducing the Image Size:

a. Right-Click the file, go to Open With option, Left-Click to choose Paint (see sample below).

b. In Paint environment: click File at Menu Tab --> click Save As –> Choose “JPEG” at the “Saves As Type” drop down list –> browse the location to save the reduce file – Click Save (see sample below) .

Take note that the above steps is only to reduce file size by converting .bmp and .png files to .jpg file type, without reducing the image size. If your image/photo size is too big, then, you might as well just reduce the image/photo size first, before reducing the file size as described in the above procedure.

I had this error right after I downloaded or updated the Vista SP1 from Windows Update. Luckily, the steps below worked for me. Before you try to follow these steps, first, read carefully the instructions. I have added snapshots of how your window will look like at every step. Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. To resolve Error Code 39, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:

1. CLICK START button, TYPE regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs List.

*If you are prompted to for n administration password or confirmation, type your password, Or click Continue.

2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Caution: There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values as in step 3 below. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data is CDROM.

3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.

4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.

5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.

6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.

7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Note: After you remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry entries, you may lose functionality in certain programs such as CD recording programs. In this scenario, you must reinstall any affected programs. If the problem recurs, contact the program vendor to determine whether an update is available for the program.
