Experiencing Shen Yun

It was a peaceful night at my aunt’s home, and I was watching Shen Yun Performing Arts on DVD. I quietly listened to the music that sounded like music endowed by Gods. I enjoyed each graceful dance that appeared just like beautiful fairies descending to earth. I experienced on a deep level the semi-divine culture with its history of five thousand years. Tonight, I was experiencing Shen Yun. My soul, which had long been submerged in the dust of this world, had a moment of peace and was reveling in the purity and finesse of Shen Yun’s music and dance. I was in a pleasant mood with a relaxed mind.

I watched the unique charm of classical oriental dance. The performers, exuding beauty and kindness moved gracefully, performing each dance as wonderfully as the heavenly wonderland it came from. The vivid and rich varieties of dances exhibited historical legends and tales. Behind these classical dances is the deep inner meaning of ancient traditional culture.

I listened to the wonderful blend of music and the beautiful low and high tones of the traditional bel canto. Be it the pure music or the graceful dances, every element of Shen Yun expresses the pure beauty and compassion of a divine culture, passed down over a historic period of five thousand years.

However, think about the current world where moral values are degenerating. Why has this world become so dirty and so dark? It is because people’s minds have been flooded and dazed with desires for fame and fortune. They are scrambling and intriguing over self interest. They are forsaking compassion in favor of indulging in worldly desires for material possessions. This is the result of the cruelty of the evil forces so brutally suppressing good people who have compassionate minds and thoughts. They have brewed up an evil storm that has shrouded the whole community in a haze of darkness.

Experiencing Shen Yun not only relaxes our physical body but also purifies our thoughts. Although society has become dirty and dark with many people confused and following a degenerate path, compassionate people have insisted on appealing for compassion from the bottom of their hearts. They have been making efforts to influence people to improve their morality. No matter how the evil forces persecute them, these kind people are firmly holding to their beliefs like the pure and elegant plum blossoms withstanding cold winds and snow to bloom with the flower of truth.

Please keep in mind that this earth, where many immortals have descended, still needs our sincere compassionate people in order to remain. The dawn will break through the darkness and justice will ultimately prevail over evil. The truth will eventually be exposed to the world. The divine culture, passed down over five thousand years will return. Sincere and pure smiles will appear on the faces of all compassionate people. The bright lights of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance will shine on the motherland.

Produced by Alex Da Kid, "C'mon Let Me Ride" features a verse from rapper Eminem and is expected to be released on December 11th, 2012. The single is said to be playful sexified record in which Eminem will 'sing' the hook to Queen's classic "Bicycle".

The talented and 'dark' Skylar Grey played her first UK show ever last night (August 22nd) - The Wisconsin singer hit the stage at East London's XOYO to present herself first as the mastermind behind the brilliant choruses in the hits "Coming Home", "Words I Never Said", "I Need A Doctor" and "Love The Way You Lie" (see above) and immediately after doing that hot medley, the Interscope Records artist introduced Skylar Grey, the solo artist. The Alex Da Kid protegée sang her singles "Dance Without You" and "Invisible". I have mad respect for Skylar, her talent as a vocalist and songwriter is undeniable. She was born to do this.

However, I do feel a bit worried about her current situation. She chose to release the risky "Invisible" to be her official debut single. The song is beautiful, with deep lyrics, and well-sung by Skylar, but to the ears of today's listeners who are more attracted to the electro beats, euro-pop sounds, or the crooner style of Bruno Mars or the relatable heart-breaking lyrics of Adele, Skylar's "Invisible" may find it hard to find its place on today's music tastes. "Invisible" is way too radio UNfriendly, and might get boring after a few listens. Interscope should have guided her better and advised her to release something more in line with her previous works with Alex Da Kid; with a cool production, mesmering verses and explosive 'victim' chorus.

Irish rock band The Script have premiered the music video for "Six Degrees Of Separation", the second single from their third studio album aptly-titled "#3"...Watch it now above!

I like song, and especially its lyrics! But I don't think it will achieve half of the commercial success of "Hall of Fame" - which despite being released fourth months ago it's still doing extremely well on the charts across the world. "Six Degrees Of Separation" simply isn't that radio-friendly and marketable in the end IMO. As for the new single's music video. I think it's weak. The 'performance' concept seemed like the easiest choice, and the video clearly deserved a brilliant story-line to make justice to the lyrics.

It is not unusual for an ordinary person who lives an ordinary life to be sick. Because of suffering, people try their best to avoid illnesses. That is why we have so many pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals. There are three main ways to prevent or treat illness: Western medicine, Chinese medicine, and Qigong (cultivation).
Western medicine is currently the primary, or the most popular method of the three, to treat illnesses. Western medicine consists of a set of clinical theories and a suite of treatment strategies ranging from injections, pills, surgery, radiation therapy, etc. By treating the symptoms, Western medicine offers direct and sometimes mechanical treatments to treat a patient. For example, fever meets with antipyretics, inflammation with antibiotics, and a tumor often with surgery.

Chinese medicine, on the other hand, after flourishing in ancient times and declining in modern times, is now on the path of resurgence. Instead of taking the direct cause-response approach like that of Western medicine, Chinese medicine diagnosis views the human body as an integrated system, using such traditional knowledge as the Meridian system, Yin and Yang theory, and the theory of the Five Elements theory. With a systemic and integral understanding of human health, doctors of Chinese medicine highlight variables that include living in harmony with the environment, and the relationship between mind and body.
For example, physicians of Chinese medicine see that strong emotions, such as anger can cause liver damage, while panic damages the kidneys. Therefore, effective prevention and treatment of illnesses involves not only medicine but also self-adjustment, ranging from controlling mood swings and a bad temper, to choosing a balanced and harmonious life-style, and with these changes, Chinese medicine diagnostics may have a more profound efficacy than Western medicine.

I have a good friend, a college professor, whose menstruation suddenly stopped. She felt uncomfortable and went to see Western medicine doctors many times. The doctors considered it a gynaecological problem and prescribed a number of different medicines. But the treatments did not work. Later, someone recommended to her an experienced elderly doctor of Chinese medicine. After examination, this doctor attributed her malaise to inadequate stomach blood supply. He prescribed Chinese medicine and it worked immediately. This may appear unusual—that the cause of a gynaecological symptom could be found in a stomach issue. But from this, we can see how a doctor of Chinese medicine with a deeper level of understanding health and illness of the human body can provide an alternative remedy with a successful outcome.

Qigong, a seemingly modern term, actually refers to cultivation practice that has a history of thousands of years. When neither Western medicine nor Chinese medicine works, people tend to seek out Qigong. For beginners, Qigong may seem to involve movements or a type of exercise that regulates Qi. A deeper understanding, however, indicates that illness has its roots in karmic retribution created in the past. Therefore, to fundamentally cure an illness, one needs to eliminate, or more accurately, pay off these karmic debts, or past misdemeanours. In addition, one is required to be benevolent and truthful, as well as tolerant. These three virtues provide the most fundamental way to cure illnesses.

I saw one medical case in Taiwan where a middle-aged woman had breast cancer with ulcerations. After she began practicing the meditation system, Falun Gong, one day during sitting meditation, she saw a silver fish with deep hatred for her. It turned out that in the past she had killed this particular fish and the fish hated her so much that it had showed up as an illness in this dimension.

But, since she had begun cultivation of the three virtues, the Buddha Fa resolved the problem the fish had with her, and as a consequence, in this dimension the pus stopped, the ulcer improved, and her illness disappeared.

Another story I know is about a medical doctor who lives in the U.S. He studied Chinese medicine in China, Western medicine in the U.S., and later began to practice Falun Gong. After leaving the hospital, he opened a private clinic. His charge for each patient is as follows: Western medicine, $200; Chinese medicine, $100; and teaching Falun Gong exercises, $0. When asked why these three prices, he replied, “If you come for a treatment using Western medicine, I have to be fully responsible for your health, so I charge full price. If you come for a treatment with Chinese medicine, I take only half of the responsibility, since the other half comes from your own actions—whether you can follow a good life style that I recommend for you. If you begin to learn Falun Gong, however, you will be able to take care of your health yourself, so I will help you for free.”
From this example, we can see three levels of treatment. If you truly want long-term health, which would you choose?

The lawsuit filed by Burnett against Jepsen claims not only that the songs “sound similar,” but also focuses on the song structure as well as the “vocal motif” that “Good Times” allegedly stole from “AH, It's a Love Song.” The lawsuit claims that, in the beginning of Burnett's song, she creates an original motif that is “has a catchy pop vibe that both draws people in and sticks in people's heads.”

The hook of Jepsen's song is another source of contention, according to the lawsuit. In “AH, It's a Love Song,” it's four measures that are repeated to create an eight- measure section. The hook, in its entirety, is repeated twice in the song although the pitch sequence is repeated throughout the song. The pitch sequence, 5-3-5-3-2, in Burnett's song along with the original motif were copied in “Good Times,” the lawsuit alleges.
Along with copying the original motif and pitch sequence, Neville Johnson, Burnett's lawyer, argues that “Good Time” also copies the melodic contour, rhythmic construction, timbre and rhythmic context of “AH, It's a Love Song.” Burnett has extensive history representing artists like the estate of John Lennon, as well as Yoko Ono and Nancy Sinatra.

Burnett's song is by no means obscure and has been available for sale digitally and has also been featured in MTV's “The Hills” and “Friendzone.”

While Burnett is suing for copyright infringement, she also notes that, since “Good Time” was a Top 10 hit, many people are accusing her of stealing Jepsen's and Owl City's song.

Burnett is seeking damages, part of the profits from “Good Times” and a “constructive trust over all profits and royalties collected and held by the Royalty Distributors" from ASCAP and SESAC, which collect licensing fees for songs and then pay the artists royalties for the song's use.

Dana Falconberry has a new album and a badass name that sounds both like it would hunt you from the sky in an open field and taste delicious in a cobbler. We’ve got the track “Petoskey Stone” from Dana’s recent album Leelanau for you to download.
Originally from Michigan, Falconberry has been making waves in the Austin scene for some time now. Leelanau was recorded in a converted church in the area, and maybe it’s just the strings or maybe it’s the chorus of “ahhh’s” or maybe it’s the idea put in my head by the press release, but there’s something very ethereal or holy or even “old soul” sounding about this song. There’s a deeply aged richness too it.
The song in no way sounds old or regurgitated itself, but it has that quality of antique wood and quality craftsmanship. You’ll get it when you hear it, and say, “oh yeah, I think you really can hear the old wood in the studio.” For all I know, they may have lined the studio with new, still green plywood, but you’d never know it from listening. Regardless, grab the song now:

26-year-old pop singer - who actually looks 16 - Carly Rae Jepsen has recently world premiered the official music video for her new single "This Kiss", a catchy modern disco-pop number produced by Carly's boyfriend Matthew Koma lifted from the Canadian's major label debut album "Kiss"...Watch above!Directed by Justin Francis, the concept for the "This Kiss" music video is... girls night out! Carly and her girl friends put on their best clothes, get pretty, and get to this super hipster nightclub on a Fiat 500 (I can't at her using the same freakin' car from the 'Good Time' clip LOL) where they'll party like there's no tomorrow.

So...not a bad music video, but I expected something a little better. Carly looked good, and the lighting effects were nice as well as her performanc

e scenes, but I just expected so much more. I'm still loving "This Kiss". I don't know why it's taking so long for it to smash in the US! British acts Ellie Goulding and Little Mix invaded 'The X Factor Australia' on its latest results show episode on Tuesday (October 30) with live performances of their newest singles...Watch videos now!
Sweet Ellie treated her Aussie fans watching Channel 7 with an almost-flawless performance of "Anything Could Happen", the lead single from her sophomore album "Halcyon". Didn't really like the stage props 'X Factor Australia' gave Ellie - they looked cheap - but in any case she rocked the performance with her angelic vocals.

I said 'almost-flawless' before though because I've heard Ellie sing "Anything Could Happen" better in other performances so it was an 8 out of 10 for me. I know she can give me more.
As for Little Mix, they simply nailed their performance of "Wings". They looked so comfortable on stage, kind of like 'home' actually. I mean it was an 'X Factor' stage in the end. All four girls sounded great even though there was a lot choreography and moving around the stage. Very good!

I vote little mix I think they deserve it the most I cant wait for there album to come out.

I like the cheeky concept and it certainly shows all ND members had fun on the shooting. By the way, how stunning does Gwen Stefani look!?. Gurl has without a doubt found the elixir of eternal youth. That face! As for 'Looking Hot', it's a good song, much better than previous single title track "Push and Shove" and let's hope it becomes the 'savior' single of the album, cause so far it's not doing that good (or as expected).

New Music: Amelia Lily - 'Shut Up' [Full]

This may not be as compelling or a timeless pop hit as "You Bring Me Joy", but Amelia Lily has certainly proved she's no one-hit wonder with the premiere of her new single - the 2nd from her upcoming Sony Music UK debut album - the also Xenomania-produced dancefloor-filler "Shut Up"...Listen above!
I'm loving the 'anthemic' feeling of this song. Xenomania are obviously digging Amelia Lily as they're giving her some bangin' dance beats! "Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You’ve Got)" - full title - was premiered recently via a 'lyric' video posted on Amelia's YouTube VEVO page, but the actual single won't be officially released in the UK till January 2013, according to industry sources. "Shut Up" is giving me everything I need right and more. It's made for the radios, and the clubs, it's catchy, it's in-your-face, it's marketable, and I bet the live performances will be crazy hot. So looking forward to that debut CD, Amelia!

Nothing had us seeing Red at the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards—but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy plenty of surprises! From who didn't win the night's top honor to the most wince-worthy jokes to what was left unsaid, we've broken down the event's most shocking moments. Be prepared for five spit takes: Best & worst moments of the 2012 CMA Awards

1. Taylor Swift Goes Home Empty-Handed: Despite being the butt of one of the night's big jokes (more on that later), the record-breaking pop star—wait, country-pop star—failed to capitalize on any of her three nominations, not even for Best Musical Event, for her song from The Hunger Games! Sure, she was between albums this past year, but her Speak Now Tour was a raging success. And was there anyone in Nashville last night who's made more headlines than Swift? Now, don't tell us that the CMAs are all about the music or something!

2. Swift Rebuke: Minus a very strange joke about trying to induce labor for pregnant Sugarland belle Jennifer Nettles, hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood let their fellow artists be and kept most of their punchlines pegged to current events. They even danced "Gangnam Style" for way more than the allotted time it takes to make sure a gag doesn't get old. But Taylor Swift's latest breakup took center stage: Paisley marveled over the Schwarzenegger-for-Swift trade made by the Kennedy family and then went on to talk about them "never, ever, never, ever, etc" getting back together. "Maybe she'll write a song about it," Paisley got in one last dig. "She'd never do that," chided Underwood. Yeesh, excuse Taylor for breathing! Shocker? 3. Blake Shelton Steals the Show: We've never seen anyone so stunned by his own good fortune. The Voice judge (he called it his "side job," FTW) walked away with a leading three wins: Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (he accepted with wife and Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert to make for one of the ceremony's most emotional moments) and—the big enchilada—Entertainer of the Year, his first time winning the CMA Awards' top prize and easily the most jaw-dropping moment of the night for him. Kelly Clarkson Goes Full Country: We've seen this before, with Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Gwyneth Paltrow and other stars from different genres who end up stumbling upon a country-friendly hit and decide to stay put for a spell. And Clarkson had that big, Grammy-nominated hit in 2010 with Jason Aldean, "Don't You Wanna Stay." But now she's landing nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and channeling Dolly Parton on the very "Islands in the Stream"-reminiscent "Don't Rush," her new duet with Vince Gill. Hunter Hayes Forgets Someone: After Carrie Underwood made a big show of introducing her adorable touring partner, Hunter Hayes, before his first-ever CMA Awards performance, it seemed only reasonable that he would return the love at some point. So after the 21-year-old "Wanted" singer had accepted his statue for New Artist of the Year, we flipped back and watched again, thinking we had to be mistaken. But we weren't. He forgot to thank Underwood! Good luck packin' those arenas on your own, kid.

The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville hosted the 2012 CMA Awards - fully known as the Country Music Association Awards - on Thursday, November 1, that saw - very deserving in my humble view - married couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert take home the big awards of the night and also a great number of stellar live performances by A-list solo singers and groups...Watch videos below now!
If I had to choose my favorite performance at the 46th CMA Awards ceremony I'd go with Kelly Clarkson's. You know I love the woman. Her breezy rendition of her new country single "Don't Rush" was exquisite! Stunning also live on the Bridgestone Arena stage were; Hunter Hayes, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean. So many great voices!

It's all happening cause of Owl City and Carly's recent hit pop collaboration "Good Time". This Allyson person is saying that that song copies a "unique vocal motif" from the track she released in 2010 as stated in the lawsuit she's filed in a California federal court. She's also suing Matt Thiessen and Brian Lee - two named co-writers of "Good Time". Hmmmm....I guess another sign to certify you've 'made it' in the industry is to get sued...right Carly?. Plagiarism lawsuits are no extraordinary thing in the music business. In fact, they're more frequent these last years. Yet, the most-relevant cases brought to court in the last times have been dismissed. And I think this will be same for Owl City and Carly's. Please listen to Allyson Nichole Burnett's "Ah, It's a Love Song" in the YouTube video below and let me know if you find a real similarity (Come On!). Oh, and what is she asking?. "Plaintiff is thefore entitled to a constructive trust over all profits and royalties collected and held by the Royalty Distributors...". You wish, girl!
