Buying Impressionist Cityscapes

I have been looking for impressionist cityscapes in various mediums to decorate my home. I prefer to hang art that was created in the last fifteen years. There are so many great artists to choose from.

I have decided that I want to have three impressionist cityscapes painted in acrylic. I will be buying one called Stormy Desert that was painted by an artist named JoanAnn. The piece is painted on a 40″ X 30″ canvas and has flowering cactus plants in the foreground.

The next impressionist cityscape painting I plan to buy is called Tuscan Waterfall. The piece is a triptych and is on three gallery wrapped canvases. The artist lives in Tennessee and supports herself with her art.

The last acrylic impressionist cityscape that I plan to buy is called Autumn Dream. Autumn is my favorite time of year and the painting captures every color of autumn. The artist painted the sides, so there is no need to have it framed. I can’t wait to see this hanging in my home.

I have found only two impressionist cityscapes that I liked in the Gouache medium. The first was from an artist named Joe Wojdakowski and the subject is an area located in Wells, Maine. I’m not sure why I am so drawn to this particular impressionist cityscape, but I am and plan to buy it.

The other Gouache impressionist cityscape that I plan to buy features Big Ben in London. The artist is an Englishman named Alasdair Rennie. The scene is rainy and I like it a lot. It reminds me of my time in London when I was a child.

The first oil impressionist cityscape painting I bought was called Koi Pond Reflections. I’ve seen this artist’s work before and I always really like it. The painting was completed using brush and knife. The painting has not arrived, yet, because the paint is very thick and needs to complete the drying process undisturbed. I cannot wait to get it!

I really like having various styles of impressionist cityscape paintings. I don’t just like variety in the mediums; I like variety in styles and influences. I really fell in love with an oil impressionist cityscape painting called En Sendero that was originally purchased in Oaxaca, Mexico. I purchased the painting for just over three thousand dollars.

The oil impressionist cityscape painting of Paris that I want was painted by a well recognized painter Radik Atoyan. He is Armenian and signed the painting in his Armenian language. He has a unique way of using color that just makes his painting look special.

I have also been interested in watercolor impressionist cityscape paintings. There is an original painting that depicts an urban rainy night that I think would be perfect for me. The painting just makes me feel good to look into.

I made a purchase not long ago that was painted by an Israeli artist named Yosef Kosssonogi. The use of color in this watercolor impressionist cityscape is so vivid. I could not wait to hang it on my wall. After the shipment arrived with the painting, my brother came right over with a level to hang it.

I found a painting that reminded me of a vacation I took to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The impressionist cityscape painting was created by Adam Maeroff and I think that it is the perfect painting to complete my collection.

Buying A Swimming Pool

Buying a swimming pool can be quite a difficult decision indeed, especially when you are trying to decide between an in ground pool or an above ground pool. Each one has something to offer you and your family, although there are also differences, which you should know before you make that final decision.

The shape with your pools is important. In ground pools come in oval, kidney, and square shapes. Above ground pools on the other hand are only available in round or oval If you have a large family or a lot of friends who like to swim, you’ll want to get a shape that can support a lot of swimming.

Size is also important, especially for families. Above ground pools are much smaller than in ground pools. Pools that are in the ground are a lot bigger, and offer you several different sizes to choose from. They cost a lot more than above ground pools though. Above ground swimming pools use less water, although they will also limit what you can do in your pool.

If you like to dive, you’ll have to get an in ground pool. Above ground pools can’t have diving boards, as most are only 6 foot deep. This isn’t a good diving height, which is why you won’t be able to dive with an above ground pool.

Buying an above ground pool will save you a ton of money. The money that you save, can be used to add to your pool area, such as a deck or privacy fence around your pool. If you choose to buy an in ground pool, you’ll spend a lot of money. You won’t need a deck though, as they are easily accessible. If you add a privacy fence to your in ground pool, it won’t have to be near as high as it would with an above ground pool.

Installation is also a consideration with your pool. You can normally install above ground swimming pools by yourself with little to no help, in a few hours. In ground pools on the other hand, take several days to install and they must be done by a professional. This can get costly as well, racking up a hefty bill before you realize it.

Making that final choice really comes down to what you hope to get from your pool. If you need a lot of space or want to swim laps, an in ground pool is your best choice. If you need a smaller pool for yourself or your kids, an above ground pool would suffice. The choice is entirely up you though, and what works best for you. If you are on a budget or don’t have a lot of money to spend – you would be better off going with an above ground swimming pool.

Build A Worm Breeding Farm

Breeding earthworms in the fruit and vegetable garden is a low-priced and easy way of recycling food and garden waste. Worm breeding is a good process to make fertilizer for gardens. The farms for worm are perfect for people who are living in flats with small backyards. In the worm farm, a special type of earth worm is cultivated in the warm and moist environment. The common worms are Tiger Worms, Red Wrigglers and Indian Blues. The population of the earth worm gets doubled in every two to three months.

Materials needed to build a worm farm:

1. A place or box for the worm farm. It can be polystyrene or wooden boxes that can be bought.

2. Minimum of 2,000 worms.

3. Worms will breed and multiply to more then 8,000 worms in 6 months.

4. Newspapers.

5. Bedding material in a container with a blend of decomposed compost, straw, grass clippings or shredded paper or leaf mould.

6. Scraps from the kitchen like fruits and vegetable.

7. Bricks for the support purpose.

Proper technique:

It is better to select a shady spot outdoors for the worm farm. It should have good drainage system. Tree roots or grass runners can attack the open based worm farms. To stay away from this type problem, it is good to place the worm farm on a plastic sheet.

Now wrap the container with a few sheets of dampened newspaper. Fill the container with bedding mix that is damp but not wet. It is significant to make a bedding mix that is not as fresh like the main food source. The ideal food for this type of well-rotted compost is garden waste.

Support the container with bricks to make sure that the drainage holes are clear. Now, add the compost worms and cover the container. Keep on putting fruit and vegetable scraps every week. Cover the food scraps with some compost or soil after feeding the worms, to evade attracting vinegar flies. Keep on adding water every few days. It helps preventing the worm farm from drying out. It is vital to keep the worm farm moist. The worms can die if it dries out. At the same time, the worm farm should not be soggy.

Spring is a time of renewal. It is the time of year when people across the country begin shaking off the final dregs of winter, opening their windows, and hanging clothes on the lines to dry. It is the time of year that many people associate with cleaning but very few associate with home decorating. Sadly enough there are very few times of year when it is more appropriate to decorate your home. Face it, for most of us, this is the only time of year that we are actually happy about cleaning.

During the summer months we clean because the kids (young and old alike) are constantly tracking dirt, mud, grass, and goodness knows what else into the house. Cleaning in these days is a chore and yet we still manage to bring out the patriotic colors and celebrate America in style. Goodness knows how with all the extra cleaning that is going on and the nearly double amounts of lemonade and iced tea being consumed daily. Still we manage to decorate and take great joy in doing so as if some right of passage has been achieved by our home decorating efforts.

During the Thanksgiving and Winter months we clean house because we have no choice. Friends and family will be coming over and they expect our homes to be well decorated and clean. This I must tell you is quite the accomplishment with the rush of the holidays afoot and yet somehow we manage to muster up some Christmas cheer when others are around while playing Mr. Scrooge when it comes to running the mop and the broom around our rooms.

Spring is the one time of year in which our cleaning efforts are nothing short of inspired. Yet it is also the spring that often eludes us when it comes to inspiration for decoration. Perhaps we are too tired from all of our cleaning efforts to seek the inspiration to decorate. If this is the case with you, then my hope is that some of the ideas mentioned below will help bring some serious decoration inspiration your way.

1) Flowers. Spring is the time of flowers. They are all around us. Use fresh cut flowers and candles to create beautiful arrangement and centerpieces throughout your home.
2) Candles. While briefly mentioned above they deserve their own spot among the top five to say the least. Candles can be soothing, relaxing, invigorating, inspiring, beautiful, elegant, and simply smell good. Candles are great no matter what time of the year it is however, if you select candles in bright spring colors and fragrances you might be amazed at exactly how uplifting these candles can be.
3) Towels. Yes I said towels. In your kitchen and your bathrooms you need bright, bold colors that signify spring, birth, and renewal. These little touches can make a huge difference in not only your attitude about cleaning and decorating but also your attitude about cooking.
4) Fragrance. While most people do not realize that the fragrances we use in our homes is a type of decoration. It makes our noses happy to some degree but also the potpourri and candles are often decorations in and of themselves. Put out bowls filled with brightly colored and lightly scented fragrance balls, dried fruit, and other delights. Gourmet potpourri can be found in all kinds of gift and fragrance shops and is a rather inexpensive way to add a fragrant touch to your home decorating as well as the fragrance of your home.
5) Fruit. Have bowls placed throughout your home filled with fresh fragrant fruit. Not only does this add yet another layer of fragrance to your home but it is also visually appealing and edible. There are three checks in the ‘pro’ column for this simple decorative step and I have yet to find one in the ‘con’ column unless you consider the fact that it must be eaten before it gets too ripe.

Moving when you work from home is a slightly more complicated – the home office is doubly hard to move – you’re moving your work place AND your house.

So what can you do to make the move easier?

Moving your home office, like any other move, is all about packing the non essentials – if you aren’t using your printer much, go ahead and box it, and some paper up – keep it handy so that you can pull it out and use it if you need it. If you do use it, but not your USB, or other parts of your computer often, consider packing them away as soon as you can.

You can also take this chance to clear out or decide whether anything is needing renewed. Got cartridges of ink that you want to recycle? Take them back or get them refilled as soon as you can – then pack em away – its one less job to deal with – and it will save you money if you use them to be refilled (if your cartridge supports that)

You’ll also need to consider how you’ll fulfill your duties whilst working from home – will you be able to work on your laptop? Or will your Internet connection be completely non-existent for the next month, whilst you close down one house and settle into a new one.

You’ll also have to consider shipping issues – if you collect items regularly, you’ll need to make arrangements for them – if you’ve got stock that’s regularly sent to you, what will happen in the ‘grey’ area between your old house and new house, if there is one?

Moving your home office can be frustrating, and tiring, but well worth it in the long run – that corner you claimed in a rush when you started working from home could become a well planned nook in your new house, with a little imagination.
