When you start with all grain brewing you need a good recipe, there a literally hundreds of all grain brewing recipes that you can choose from. It is important that you choose the right one because you do want your first all grain brew to be delicious. The best thing you can do is ask a experienced brewer, your own home brew supplier for instance. But when you need one right now, we can give you one recipe in particular that is really excellent!

This is one of the best all grain brewing recipes by far. I found it on the Brewery Lane website a few years back and it is still my favorite. You will need:

1/2 oz Goldings Hop cones (flavoring)

1/4 oz Goldings Hop Pellets (finishing)

3/4 oz of Goldings Hop Pellets (bittering)

5 lbs of 2-row Canadian malted barley

1 tsp of Burton Salts

1 cup of crystal malt

3/4 lbs of sugar

2 packets of dry ale yeast

Always use good and proper cleaned all grain home brewing equipment. All that is further more needed in the producing of this all grain beer recipe is by using a step mash, and after that sparge and also add the Burton salts to the wort. This blend must be taken to a boil after which the bittering hops have to be included. This mixture ought to be boiled for approximately one hour, and then the flavoring hops, then boil for an additional ten minutes approximately. To finish off merely add the sugar, boil for around five more minutes, switch off the heat, and force cool by using a plate wort chiller. Next the yeast needs to be re-hydrated and also put into the aerated wort. Ferment as normal. Spg. 1.040. So, here you’ve got one really good all grain brewing recipe, that you can try out. And I guarantee it will be one of the best you have tasted.

When you get some more experience you can even make your own recipes, you just need to keep in mind that there are some basic ingredients you will always need to use. To get some ideas you can look at some other all grain brewing recipes online. There are many folks that look on the poplar brewing forums and some of my all time favorites are found there. So give it a try and have fun brewing.

For people that love creating home brews in the comfort of their own home, nothing makes them happier than having the right type of homebrew bottles to create their home brew creations. And plastic beer bottles are the best choice you can make. Having the right plastic beer bottles can make or break a home brewed beer, causing frustration if the wrong bottles are chosen. There are many reasons why choosing plastic beer bottles is important to make your home brewing creations a success, so the choice that is made should be carefully considered before making a final decision.

Controlling the Temperature

Choosing the right type of plastic beer bottles for your home brewing needs is very important because the right bottles can control the temperature that the home brew is being stored at. For most types of home brewing, keeping the home brew ingredients at a consistent temperature is very important to the quality of the home brew because it inhibits the growth of foreign agents within the brew and helps the brew maintain its color.

Some of the less expensive types of home brew bottle are made from thin glass that is not very effective at controlling the temperature of the home brew. This can cause items to cool too quickly or allow too much light within the bottle which can ruin the brew that has been created. That is why plastic beer bottles are colored and make a much better choice. Many cases of bacterial and viral intestinal conditions are caused by home brew being improperly stored or cooled.

Ease to Sterilize

Some types of home plastic beer bottles are much easier to sterilize than others, so you may want to consider purchasing a type of plastic beer bottles that are simple and quick to sterilize. There are some different types of plastic beer bottles available but the consumer must be careful to choose a type that would be best for the use they intend to use it for. It is also important to choose a type of plastic beer bottles that is thick enough and that it will not be easily damaged during storage.

The type of plastic beer bottles we recommend are considered to be best for use with home brewing equipment because they are designed to be easily sterilized and keep the brew at the proper temperature to inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Making home brew is not as difficult as some people make it out to be. In fact you can make it as difficult as you like, but making home brew is not going o take up the entire day. Here are some of the most common tips that can help you making home brew for yourselves and your families.

Making Home Brew Tip 1 – Choose Your Ingredients Wisely

In many cases, the easiest way of making home brew is to take a brew that you currently enjoy and change the ingredients that are present in the brew to make the brew easier to create. For example, if one of the ingredients in the home brew needs preparation before adding it to the brew mixture, the person may be able to find the ingredient in a store already prepared in the manner that it needs before being added to the brew. This allows the person to save a great deal of time in the preparation of the home brew and the end result will taste very close to how the recipe should taste at completion.

There are certain ingredients that work better for making home brew than others, especially when it comes to creating a particular flavor. It is very important for you to choose the right ingredient for the home brew and look up which ones will work well and which ones are difficult to use for beginners. The ingredients that are considered to be good for making home brews in their natural state will often be listed on websites giving tips on making home brew to help the person improve their creations.

Making Home Brew Tip 2 – Use The Right Brewing Techniques

Many home brews fail because, although the person is choosing home brew ingredients, they are not brewing in a way that allows it to retain its best properties. Home brewing is not difficult to accomplish, it just requires the changing of some common techniques that many people do not even think about. By changing the way that you choose to use the home brew system, you can make almost any ingredient combination a success for making home brew.

One of the biggest things to remember about making home brew is that the additional ingredients that are used to flavor the brew can alter the brew in different ways. It is best to avoid using ingredients and techniques that you are not sure of if you are making home brew because these items can actually change the brew while it is brewing. Many of the people that are routinely making home brew find that certain techniques work the best for them when making home brew. And you can learn from them on online websites and forums.

Brewing technology changed considerably over the centuries and even today varies from brewery to brewery. But, in general, almost all beers contain four main ingredients: barley, hops, water, and yeast. It does not matter if you are brewing lager beer, ale or something else you almost always can divide the brewing process into for steps: malting, preparation of the wort, fermentation, and maturation.

Brewing Lager Beer: Malting

During this stage, barley is sorted, weighed, and purified of foreign matter. Afterward, it is steeped in water, a necessity if the barley is to germinate. The germination takes between five and seven days at a temperature of about 58 degrees Fahrenheit [14°C]. The end product of this process is green malt, which is transported to special ovens for kilning, a drying procedure. The moisture in the green malt is reduced to between 2 and 5 percent to stop the germination. After kilning, the sprouts are removed from the malt, and the malt is milled. It is then ready for the next step.

Brewing Lager Beer in the factory Preparation of the wort.

The milled malt is mixed with water to produce mash, which is then gradually heated. At certain temperatures the enzymes start to convert starches into simple sugars. This step lasts more than four hours and produces the wort, which is then filtered to remove impurities. Next comes the boiling process, which arrests the activity of enzymes. During the boiling, hops are added to the wort to provide the typical bitterness of beer. After some two hours of boiling, the wort is cooled to the required temperature.

Brewing Lager Beer in the factory: Fermentation.

This is probably the most important stage of the Brewing Lager Beer process. Simple sugars contained in the wort are, by means of the yeast, converted to alcohol and carbon dioxide. The duration, one week at the most, and the temperature of the process depend on the type of beer, ale or lager, being produced. The so-called green beer is then transferred into tanks in a lagering cellar to mature.

Brewing Lager Beer in the factory: Maturation.

During this stage, beer acquires its typical taste and aroma; released carbon dioxide also gives the beer its sparkle. Beer matures during a period that can range from three weeks to a few months, depending on the type of beer. Finally, the finished beer is packaged into casks or bottles and is ready to be sent out to its final destination, perhaps eventually reaching your table! But which type of beer would you like to try?

Brewing Lager Beer Yourself

There are many different beers and they have different procedures of being fermented. When you are brewing lager beer, you need to put in a lot of time and effort. If you are going to take the chance of experiencing brewing lager beer at home, you will experience an enjoyment in drinking your own home made drinks from brewing lager beer.

WHAT is often the dream of a really thirsty man? In many lands, whether a laborer or a businessman, he may think of a glass of his favorite golden beverage. He may imagine the rich, white head of foam and the delicious bitter taste. He may then say to himself, ‘What I would give for a glass of cold beer!’

Beer is almost as old as mankind itself. For millenniums it has kept its popularity, and in many areas it has become an integral part of local culture. Sadly, especially in some European countries, beer has become a source of problems for those who overindulge in it. However, consumed in moderation, its unique qualities and flavor make drinking it quite enjoyable

It all started in 1295. The king of Bohemia, Wenceslas II, founded the town of Plzeň, and shortly after that, he granted 260 of Plzeň’s burghers the right to brew beer. Initially the burghers brewed the beer in their houses and only in small amounts, but later they formed guilds and founded breweries. In time, however, the economy and culture in Bohemia declined, and this affected the brewing. Ignoring the approved technology and using their own recipes, the brewers often produced a distasteful brew that was not worthy to be called beer.

At that time, two types of beer were produced in Europe. Top-fermented beer was brewed, especially in Bohemia, while a bottom-fermented beer, of far better quality, was popular mainly in Bavaria. There was a huge gulf between the Bavarian lagers and the Plzeň beers.

An important turning point came in 1839. About 200 of Plzeň’s burghers decided to do something about the situation. They founded the Burgess Brewery, where only bottom-fermented, or Bavarian-style beer, was to be brewed. The famous brewer Josef Groll was called in from Bavaria. He immediately set to work to produce a typical Bavarian beer. The result was very different—but also far better than he had anticipated.

Groll’s experience coupled with fine local raw materials helped to produce a beer that took the world by storm.

Although you need many different items for a home brewery setup, the home beer brewing equipment that you need is not that expensive, running under two hundred dollars for a basic brewing kit. The home beer brewing equipment set up does not have to be fancy; it just has to have the basic materials to allow the beer to ferment properly a good recipe and it has to be properly bottled. When you have the right home beer brewing equipment then all you need is to pick the type of beer recipe that they desire and start cooking!

Beer Brewing Equipment

The first item of beer brewing equipment that has to be bought is of course the brewpot, which should have at least a sixteen quart capacity. This is a special pot that must be made of either stainless steel or enamel-coated metal so that the beer does not brew and end up picking up the flavor of the pot. This ensures that the beer will have the pure flavor of the recipe rather than having a strange taste from the pot it cooked in.

The next beer brewing equipment item needed is the primary fermenter which should have a capacity of seven gallons at least. This is an important piece of beer brewing equipment because it is the place the beer starts to ferment in. The lid to the primary fermenter must fit tightly on it so that it locks out all air. These are usually made of plastic and have to be bought specifically for this purpose to work correctly.

The next beer brewing equipment item needed is the airlock and stopper which are used to help the carbon dioxide escape from the primary fermenter during the fermentation process. This is an important piece of beer brewing equipment that must work properly so that the air from the outside does not get in while the carbon dioxide is escaping out of the fermenter.

Other beer brewing equipment needed to create a home brewery setup is a plastic hose, bottling bucket, bottles, bottle pushes and bottle cappers. These items need to be kept extremely clean so that the beer can be safely and cleanly be transferred from the fermenter into the bottles where they will be sealed for consumption. Glass bottles are the best to use for the bottling process and should be a dark color so that the light does not affect the quality of the beer. One other beer brewing equipment item that is needed for the fermenter is a thermometer that can stick to the side of it, such as are used on fish tanks.

You can buy all this beer brewing equipment separately or you can buy it all in a good home brewing kit. Everything you need is in it and it can be used over and over again.

Beer is both relaxing and intoxicating it is a product that has already marked its place in society as one of the most preferred beverages. The different tastes of beer is appreciated by many, and that it is the reason beer and home brewing have become more and more popular the last 10 years. Its influence has already seeped down even inside every home through the cultivation of simple procedures for home brewery.

With this process, each desiring person and enthusiast can now make their preferred beer product, quality, and distinctive characteristics based from what they actually want. With the effectiveness of this concern, the normative tradition over the production of beer product has been transcending creating the new level of home brewers.

A Home Brewers Interest and Passion

In the past, the tasks of making beer products are only limited within a specific group of people termed dominantly as brewers who dedicate their lifetime efforts, actions, and interest towards the field of making top quality beer product. This has continued in the present however, most people manifesting this concern mainly operate in influence of their economic pursuit. However, there is always this significant portion in the society composed of individuals interested in field of beer production solely as part of their passion. They are viewed as the home brewers.

Home brewers are mainly characterized as people highly enthusiastic about the product that they are engage in small-scale production not for economic pursuit but mainly for their passion of experimenting, developing, and creating beer products based on their preferred quality. Home brewers exert much interest, effort, and resources towards making products that are made with high standard of enthusiasm which they can proudly say as their own creation.

These home brewers mainly work in home micro brewery they personally established operating towards small-scale production catering only to what they want and what they need. Because home brewers are not concerned with issues of prices and market value, they always pour down significant amount of effort mainly for enhancing the quality, taste, aroma, and flavor of their beers achieving the highest possible quality for it or at least satisfying their personal craving.

That is why beer brewed by a home brewer is usually much better then the beer products you can buy in the store. The home brewer added effort, dedication, excellent ingredients and quality to the mix and when you taste such a beer we are sure that you can taste this.
