Lyrics Born’s New Online Radio Player, LBFM, Will Feature Exclusive Mixes, World Premieres, a Personal Playlist Chosen by Lyrics Born Himself, Multiple Channels and Much More!

Lyrics Born’s new single, “Oh Baby,” is available exclusively on LBFM and is the latest track from his forthcoming new album, AS U WERE, slated for a Spring 2010 release. The eclectic song continues to build upon LB’s pre-album-launch campaign which has already spawned videos and singles for the tracks “Funky Hit Records” (featured on YouTube) and “Pushed Aside, Pulled Apart” featuring Latyrx partner, Lateef the Truthspeaker (premiered on URB.com.)

LBFM is a fully embeddable flash player which can be added to websites, blogs, Myspace pages and more. The new online radio player adds to the MCs extensive online presence which currently includes pages at Myspace, Facebook and Twitter (which he personally updates himself) as well as LBTV, a weekly internet video show featuring artist interviews, live footage, behind-the-scenes moments, studio exclusives and more! Dirty South hip-hop trio CunninLynguists have announced dates for their Strange Journey U.S. Tour in support of their upcoming release, Strange Journey Volume Two.

After a hugely successful European run spanning 10 countries this past spring, the U.S. portion of the Strange Journey Tour will extend for 5 weeks with fellow road warriors Grieves along with DJ/producer Budo, Los Angeles-based artist and frequent QN5 collaborator Tunji as well as Sweden’s own international hip-hop icons Looptroop Rockers, who will be taking part in their first-ever full U.S. tour.

Featuring strategic guest spots from all over the map, the release Strange Journey Volume Two picks up where Part One left off — chronicling the life of the weary traveling musician with cuts like the sleepy Seattle lament “Close Your Eyes”, featuring Geologic of Blue Scholars, Grieves and Macklemore and the Cali banger “Running Wild” featuring Evidence of Dilated Peoples and Bay Area rap legend E-40. When Kid Sister announced this show on her Facebook, we hadn’t even heard about it, but snagged tickets online the same day because intuition was just shouting that it would be a fun time. Kid Sister–aka Melisa Young–and Flosstradamus–J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci): are you kidding us? Our expectation for the show could not have been more accurate!

Detroit Bar isn’t a huge venue in terms of space, but it’s big enough and the vibe there the whole night was awesome. We arrived early: before the place had even really filled-up, and it was still entertaining to start the night by listening to good music as the TV screens played clips from the 80’s. Not much time passed before the place was packed and everyone was dancing.

This was the best show that we’ve been to in months. It’s not purely about the music, of course, but it’s also about the crowd. Not only were the performances great, but everyone at the event was pretty chill. You know those times you’ve found yourself out and there’s some belligerent drunk guy trying to start beef with you over nothing, or when everyone’s so hung-up on looking cool that they are kind of awkward and don’t even seem like they’re really having a good time? Well, this night was the opposite. Most everyone seemed like they were just busting loose and enjoying themselves. For that reason it was a memorable night. Okay, so you may have noticed the annoying feedback in the series of clips. Oh well, just like love, shows aren’t perfect. Kid Sister handled it in a breezy way though, and honestly, the energy during the show was so intense with everyone all hyped-up by the performance that it wasn’t all that noticeable.
