If I don't address you plainly with some insight or truth or proclamation or teaching, what help am I to you? If musical instruments—flutes, say, or harps—aren't played so that each note is distinct and in tune, how will anyone be able to catch the melody and enjoy the music? If the trumpet call can't be distinguished, will anyone show up for the battle? (1Cor14:7,8 MSG)

Hi Danie & Roddy - awesome thoughts. If we don't speak with the distinct sound that calls people to an intimate encounter with God ... then why bother. Every attempt to simply improve behavior has already proven to be worthless ... temporal. I'm reminded of Heb 6 where its says: " ... although you should be teachers by this time, you have need again of milk .... because you grew dull of hearing"
Time gets extended when one is dull of hearing ... time gets canceled in the moment one hears accurately. Jesus once said: 'this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing'- the fulfillment of scripture has much more to do with how we hear than pre-determined dates.

Andre – nothing is as beautiful, and as great as the truth. Amazing how the truth can transform a person. From the beginning the same Word not a different or new Word. The exact same Word God’s perfect law, the law of liberty, the law that set’s us free, and if you do what it say’s and don’t forget what you hear, you shall be blessed in your doing. Seeing in it the face of your birth and restored to the original. I love it, to know I will find delight and affirmation in my action
(James 1: 19-25 my beloved scripture from Hermanus school)

Love and blessings to you and Maryanne

I have been immersed in the book of Galations lately and been amazed how toxic legalism is when into gets into the viens of the church . I have been amazed to find that its not sin but legalism that is the enemy of divine encounter and the operation of the supernatural Legalism as it pervades our lives clearly causes the actvity of the holy spirit and miracles begin to diminish and vanish from the experience of the believer. The reason i share this Andre is there is something about the hearing of faith that you speak of , that connects with the currents of heaven . It would appear that Paul,s aggressive defense of the un-diluted gospel of Grace was to preserve the church from drifting into mixture which eventually neauralizes the hearing of faith prevents us moving deeper into the realms of glory . No wonder to preserve the chuch in the freedom of the spirit and fruitfulness Paul has to take a defiant stance and boldly declare we did not give into them even for a moment that the truth of the gospel might remain with you . I hope i have not departed too much from your subject matter , it was your reference to the hearing of faith and my understanding of its crucial nature to divine encounter that prompted me to share these thoughts .....The whole article was a blessing and opened up so many avenues of reflection for me ...Thanks ....Roddy

It must man's most important activity, to simply behold Him, the "Truth that makes us true". Moving on past the obsessions, passions and interests of the flesh and mind - nothing else can so satisfy and energize our lives as Him. Not knowing the light, the majority of men have accepted their state as the norm - but when we see them we see Him and ourselves and the love of God compels us to share. Thanks Andre! Beautiful!
