And, then there’s this, from Jon Benson, health and fitness author about the benefits of exercise. Not only for your body, but also for your brain. Take a look and pass it on. dmc

******************************************************************

Did you see the March 26th Edition of
Newsweek?

The headline didn’t surprise me. I have
experienced first-hand the results of this
“new discovery” for a decade.

“Exercise And The Brain”

The cover went on to say that exercise is now
proven to make us smarter. It may help fight
breast cancer and Alzheimer’s in the process.

These benefits were obtained in one study
with only three months of vigorous exercise.

Twelve weeks! Are you kidding me?

Oh, and one more thing –

This same exercise plan did was was
thought to be impossible: it grew new
nerve cells in the brain.

Let me tell you what that means –

You could get smarter as you get older.

You could reverse or stop mind diseases
like Alzheimer’s and dementia.

You could think ‘faster’ as well as clearer.

And, according to this same study, these
results happen “no matter your age.”

The conclusion?

“A strong and active body is crucial for
building a strong and active mind.”

This is nothing new to the great thinkers
and philosophers in history.

The Greeks believed in a marriage of the
mind and body.

Without a healthy body, a healthy mind was
impossible. Their artwork reflects this belief,
as do the works of Plato and Socrates.

But now we can measure this belief and
turn it into scientific fact. That’s exactly what
scientists as Harvard and UCLA are doing.

One of the key players in this mind/body
boon is IGF-1, a protein responsible for the
production of hormones, namely human
growth-hormone.

This is called the “anti-aging” hormone.
Perhaps now we know why.

The higher the levels of IGF-1, the greater
the level of another nifty chemical: Brain-
Derived Neurotrophic Factor, or BDNF.

BDNF appears to prompt the brain’s nerve
cells to spread out and communicate more
efficiently with one another.

So, vigorous exercise, like I describe in
Fit Over 40, stimulates IGF-1, which in turn
creates more BDNF…which makes you
smarter.

Wow.

And it gets better.

Exercise has been demonstrated to improve
memory. This should be a major “ah-ha!”
moment for any of you concerned about
age-related memory loss.

Exercise was shown to increase blood volume
in an area of the brain known as the dentate
gyrus. This suggests new cells were formed.

New “memory cells”, if you will.

This is TRUE “anti-aging” folks. We’re talking
new cells in our brains and greater levels of
the youth hormones…namely IGF-1.

The article went on to say this:

“Unlike neurogenesis, which can take weeks
to occur, these results (with exercise) appear
almost immediately.”

“Get off the treadmill…and within 48 minutes
your brain will be in better shape.”

I’m not making this stuff up, but it would make
for some killer advertising copy.

I highly encourage you to add these findings
to the long list of benefits brought about when
you take on the challenge and joy of the
Fit Over 40 lifestyle.

—– > You can learn more about it here –

Then, give the Fit Over 40 lifestyle a
try. Just apply my principles of Role
Modeling and exercise for 12 weeks.

The rewards are so vast, they’ll make your
head spin…and apparently your brain grow.

Get smart!

Sincerely,

This Free Fat-Loss Report From Jon Benson,
Must Know If You Want To Burn Fat Forever!

From The Desk Of Jon Benson

Susan had been struggling with her weight for more than thirty years. Since graduating from high school, Susan gained an average of five pounds every year. While this may sound extreme, it’s not—in fact, it’s becoming normal for those of us in industrialized nations.

At first, Susan wasn’t really bothered by this slow but steady increase in body fat. However, twenty pounds or so into the incline toward obesity, Susan started to care. Plus, just do the math: five pounds per year for thirty years. Susan was on the road to gaining over 150 pounds.

Susan started to panic, and that panic led to two decades of “dieting”.

Susan would lose twenty pounds in a few months. The weight loss was rapid, so her satisfaction was almost instant. Almost as instantly came her set-backs, weight gain, and final destination—heavier and “fatter” (literally) than when she started.

From there, depression began to set in. Again, this was gradual and hardly noticed, even by her husband Peter. However, Peter became as concerned for her mental health as he was for her physical well-being when Susan turned 40.

“I began to witness the loss of a life. My wife, who I loved, was becoming someone else. This was not the person I married, and that frightened me…as horrible as that may sound, it is nonetheless the honest truth.”

Peter went on, saying, “I loved Susan, and knew there had to be an answer. Her weight was affecting our marriage mostly due to her ever-increasing lack of energy, her loss of interest in our love life, and periods of seclusion. Her body and her mind was becoming her worst enemy, and I was at my wit’s end on what to do about it.”

Does Peter and Susan’s story sound familiar to you? Perhaps not to you personally, but does it remind you of a friend or loved one?

If you know someone who needs some
answers to fat loss at any age…answers that offer
more than hope…you have my full permission to
forward this Special Report to them

The wonderful news is that Susan, like thousands of others, found her answer. She’s living The Fit Over 40 Lifestyle, and enjoying every minute of her journey. Like all of us, she still has her ups and downs (yes, I do as well), but the ups far outweigh the downs…and the progress is steady, not ”perfect“.

However, the results are lasting.

Best of all, the Dieting Demon is no more! Susan, and so many others, replaced ”dieting“ with a new way of looking at food. She replaced inactivity with ”fun fitness“, and began the process of role modeling (the lifestyle technique from which Fit Over 40 is based).

She is now back to the weight of her senior year of high school, and far more fit than she’s ever been.

Today, I felt a desire to share some of my favorite lifestyle fat-burning strategies with you. I trust you will find these tips and techniques helpful in your own quest for a fit, energetic, leaner you.

Secret Number 1 To Burn Fat Forever:
Think Like A Thin Person!

People who struggle with their weight have specific thought patterns toward food, social activity, and their ability to manage their environment.

Think about it. Have you ever met anyone whose only problem was that they could not control their weight? If you dig deeper, you will usually find patterns of thought that reveal themselves.

A study published in the July 2006 issue of Archives of General Psychiatry found that depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders were about 25 percent more common in people who were obese.

Now, the question we must ask is this: is the obesity causing the depression, or vice-versa? From a guy who went through the worst form of depression, I feel I can speak with some insight on this matter. I am beyond convinced that my obesity in my thirties vastly contributed to the onset and severity of my six-year battle with severe depression.

I am not saying it was the only factor–
merely the most important.

One of the reasons I feel this way is the fact that I’ve seen what a change of body and mind can do for a person with depression. Remember, the vast majority of diagnosed depression is referred to as “mild” depression…yet it is becoming more and more common to treat even mild depression with drugs.

About 3% of the population will experience a more severe form of depression known as dysthymia. Dysthymic depression can lead to “severe” depression, and at that point medication is usually demanded.

Notice that there is usually (not always) a progression from mild, to dysthymic, to severe depression. This is the pattern I followed, and the pattern usually observed by therapists. Yet study after study shows a strong correlation to elevated blood sugar and mild to moderate depression.

A Western diet can elevate blood sugar dramatically, as well as insulin (also connected to depression) and serotonin (a ”mood“ neurotransmitter.) So, we see some cause and effect: a poor diet can set up the biological conditions that will foster the onset of depression in those genetically susceptible to it. Even in those without such predispositions, poor diet and lack of exercise alone can cause serious depression.

However, we seek to go beyond “depression”.

We want to look at how thin people think —
not only about food, but about life itself.

Here are the top eight mental strengths, as noted by psychologists, that people with healthy bodies and clinically normal body weight exhibit:

A decreased reaction to social and environmental changes; more excitement and less fear;

A sense of adventure and possibility for their lives;

A feeling of being sexually desirable and capable;

More apt to take acceptable risks;

Socially comfortable (I refer to this as being comfortable in one’s own skin);

Less likely to demonstrate self-destructive behavior;

A feeling of acceptance around younger people (i.e. they feel young themselves);

And, perhaps most important for our goals: a tendency to bond within healthy and animated networks

That last one was a bit tricky for me, too…but it’s important. Basically, this refers to a mindset that finds comfort in bonding to people, not food or drink. The bonds a healthy person forms tends to be with other healthy people, not with inanimate objects, be they food, video games, or constructs of their imagination. Again, these are tendencies, not hard and fast rules…but the patterns are noticeable.

Now, all this is fine and dandy, but how do we go about applying these patterns of thought to our own lives…especially if we happen to be currently overweight or obese?

Here is the very best way to being, starting today, to “think like a thin person”. I cover dozens of other ways to “think thin” in my book, Fit Over 40.

Let’s start with one simple exercise. I want you to take five minutes, three times a day, for the next 30 days, and read something to yourself. This is something that you are about to write.

I want you to take out a sheet of paper, and write down the things you “wished” you said to yourself every single day.

These may be things like:

“I feel wonderful about my body and the way I take care of it!”

“I am really looking forward to a lean and healthy meal tonight.”

“There is nothing I cannot do…the world is an open canvas on which I can paint my own reality!”

“I enjoy food…but I LOVE my family and friends.”

Do you see the pattern shifts?

People who struggle with their weight say things like, “I LOVE ice cream.” You do not love ice cream…and, if you try to say that you do, I will suggest you marry ice cream tomorrow in a formal wedding ceremony. Prove your love to the world!

Now, thin people may say, “I love burgers,” or whatever…but you do not have the luxury of taxing your subconscious mind with literal lies.

This exercise teaches you how to think truthfully. If you commit to this exercise for just five minutes a day, morning noon and night, for thirty days, your mind and your body can be empowered to change forever.

Trust me…I did it myself. I went from obese and depressed to medication-free and lean, and continue to progress every day. And, I’m about to turn 43 this week (October 14), so no excuses about “age”! My book blows all that away.

I lost every excuse I ever had for being super-fit at any age when I read Pax Beale’s story. At 74, Pax looks better than I ever have…yet in his 60s, he had two massive heart attacks and bypass surgery, costing him 75% of his heart! He literally “rebuilt” his heart and his health…and he tells you the story in his own words in Fit Over 40.

Secret Number 2 To Burn Fat Forever:
Don’t Treat Your Body Like A Machine!

We’ve all heard the expression, “That guy (or gal) is a machine!”, whenever someone does something “super”. In reality, we’re not machines. We’re far more complicated and dynamic than any machine that will ever be. And, you must honor this “dynamic” and fluid system of yours when it comes to how you eat and how you exercise.

Again, I give dozens of strategies for this in my book, Fit Over 40, which you can get at http://www.fitover40.com/go/fitover50

However, this is one of my favorites — you must adopt what I call a “fluid cycle” when it comes to diet and exercise.

One way to do this with your diet is to cycle your carbohydrate intake throughout the week. This serves many purposes. First, it creates “caloric staggering”, or consuming higher and lower calories in a given period of days. This tricks the metabolism into thinking it’s “not on a diet”…and in reality you are NOT dieting. You’re consuming far more healthy, energy-producing food.

(If people worded it like that, don’t you think there would be far more successful “forever fat-burners”? I certainly do!)

Obviously, you have to begin with a healthy diet. “Healthy” will vary depending on your metabolic type, as covered in Fit Over 40).

The good news is that I have a tip on
how to start if you’re currently eating a
diet of fast food, or simply wish to
tighten things up a bit.

Don’t rush: just find one recipe you like and add it to your menu every other day for a week. During the week, locate a second recipe (think simple) that’s comprised of lean protein, vegetables, and healthy carbs, and consume that on three alternate days.

You now have one super-healthy, fat-burning meal in your schedule every day except for one. (We’ll take that one day off and eat freely…just don’t overdo it.)

Repeat this process for three more weeks, and you’ll have a great menu of foods you can choose from — and you don’t have to dive right into a “diet” (a healthy meal plan, in our case.)

Remember: you didn’t learn to drive in a day. You didn’t learn to type in a day. Why are you trying to learn how to eat in a healthy, fat-burning way in a day? Sure, read my book. Read a lot of books. But take your time. You didn’t arrive in your present condition overnight, so let’s stop expecting to change it overnight.

Most people will stop their healthy eating habits or workout plans if they’re too stringent or severe.

Ease into it, but ease with a pattern.

Once you’ve got at least three healthy meals per day, six days per week, under your belt, you can begin to apply the principle of the Fluid Cycle.

Simply choose to begin your week with two days of low carbs. Some people do great on very low carbs (under 50 grams); others will need closer to 100 grams. Choose these carbs from unprocessed sources like vegetables, brown rice, yams, and whole grains.

On days three through six, increase your carbs to “moderate”. This is your baseline meal plan. On day seven, eat freely (an “off” day.)

Look at the options that are now open to you! Two days per week, you can enjoy some fattier sources of protein (say, beef or lamb.) For the middle of the week, you’re eating lean proteins, moderate amounts of healthy carbs, veggies and healthy fats. (Always drink plenty of water…on every day of the week.) Then, at the end of the week, you have a “free day”, where pizza is just another food you consume. It’s part of the plan.

(Note: if you’re a vegetarian or vegan, no problem. I have alternatives in Fit Over 40 from role models who are living a vegan and/or vegetarian lifestyle.)

Using this structure, virtually no foods are off-limits. The timing is everything…and by using this cycle, you will never feel deprived, knowing a change of pace is due up in just a matter of days or hours.

This respects the fluid nature of the body. Trying to eat the same things day-in and day-out is enough to make most people run for the hills. Exercise is the same — and that’s why most people fail to stick with a plan that works.

I cover how to do this with exercise, the critical component of any life-long fat-burning plan, in my book, Fit Over 40.

I’d like to share just three of the hundreds of tesimonials I have received over the past 5 years…

“The Fit Over 40 e-book makes a mockery of the ‘experts’ who continually say that once you’re over 50 you’re on the scrap heap! How many lives could have been saved and improved if the truth had been known?”
— Margaret Norman, Central Australia

“I have downloaded your ebook and may I say, there is enough inspiration and advice in there to last me forever. Roll on the years, I don’t care. I will just keep pushing back the ages!”
— Chris J Smith, Geelong, Victoria, Australia

“Jon, your book is going to have a huge positive impact on a lot of lives. At age 73, I embarked on a body restoration program using the approaches you and Tom Venuto espouse. I intend to promote your message of hope that says to me: It is never too late to reverse aging.”
— Frederick Colbourne

Secret Number 3 To Burn Fat Forever:
The Magic Of “2 and 20″

This is short and sweet — and it’s a secret I’ve shared with thousands to get and stay lean.

Every morning, before you do anything short of what nature calls you to do, I want you to drink TWO 10-ounce glasses of pure water (cold is best), and follow that with TWENTY minutes of brisk motion. Brisk walking, a small in-house stepper, rebounding, biking — anything that gets you moving for ONLY TWENTY MINUTES.

(Now, if you choose to go longer…say, thirty, forty, or even sixty…I won’t put up a fuss. But twenty is your goal.)

That’s it — you’ve just done your fat-burning exercise for the day. The only other exercise you have to do is “anabolic”, or exercise to build lean muscle. That gives you the sexy shape we all want.

The good news is I have a system that allowed me to develop a fitness model physique (not to be a braggart, but it’s a fact) by training only two to four days per week in the gym. That’s all you need. Granted, this is not your “typical” workout, but it’s one that anyone can build up to fairly quickly.

There’s too much to cover in this Special Report to go in to great detail, but this workout, along with literally 50 others, is in my book, Fit Over 40.

If you own my book, re-read my first five chapters as “homework”. Recall where I came from (obese, nearly dead, depressed, etc…), and refresh your mind on what I did to overcome it to reach my peak shape at 40.

Then, read the 52 stories of people ages 40-80, and see how they workout. You’ll notice most (not all) of them train only three-five days per week in the gym. I managed to do even less — and get stellar results. I tell you how in my book.

Conclusion

I truly hope this Special Report has helped inspire you, and give you the push you need to make the changes in your life you desire to make. I also hope you’ll share this with friends — I don’t care if it gets passed around. Perhaps a few people will buy my book…some will not, and that’s fine. I have a passion for helping people, so it’s all good.

Just know this: you can think, eat and train like a lean, healthy, vibrant, muscular person at absolutely any age, period, end of story! No one, repeat no one, has ever read Fit Over 40 and doubted that — and I don’t see how anyone could, given the fact these are people just like me and you.

Some are genetically “gifted”, but most are not — in fact, many were worse off than I was when they started, and older, too!

Don’t let age or “past failures” stop you from living this life, the only one you have, to the absolute fullest. My friend, you cannot do that if you don’t feel great about your body. This is not an issue of vanity, although we all want to look nice — this is an issue of energy, freedom, and responsibility.

We owe it to ourselves and those who love us to have the energy and the mindset to live for the ages. Your children, loved ones, friends, and even those you may never even meet, will all thank you for it.

Start burning fat forever — and start today.

Sincerely,

Jon Benson
Creator/Co-Author, Fit Over 40

P.S. I wanted to share one more fabulous story with you from a reader of my Fit Over 40 newsletters. This is shared by permission…

Jon…I must say that I’m really enjoying your newsletter and I can’t wait till I can get your book. I was so inspired when I first saw the article about getting fit and healthy when you are over 40 especially the section about a man with MS, I’m just 51.

The reason I say this is because I was diagnosed with MS about 2 1/2yrs ago. This is a sickening disease but made even more frustrating when you know my physical history. My life has always been about fitness and health, I’ve done nearly 1000 skydives, I was an active hang glider pilot, a SCUBA diver and a qualified pilot this was my life before being diagnosed after experiencing changes in my fitness and coordination until physical effort was impossible.

Several months back I was so inspired by the article that talked about your book that I started working out although the effort I was able to make can only loosely be called working out.

I’m determined to get back what I’ve lost although the medical profession will say that’s not possible.

The effects of MS became so bad that I lost my job but as my fitness has improved so much in the last few months I’ve now started a new job (software sales) and no-one at the company realizes that I have a serious illness.

I now work out with a genuine intensity (I actually sweat with effort!) I daily ride 10 or 20 miles and use free weights, not quite the poundage that I used before but not that much less and I’ve lost 22lbs since January.

I can honestly say that your article inspired me so much, I’ve also improved the alkalinity of my diet so my pH balance is a healthy 7.3 which is a world away from the 6.0 when I first tested 9 months ago.

Thank you Jon for your inspiration and guidance.

How about sugar cravings…the dreaded
“sweet tooth” that makes your life anything
but sweet?

Yeah, I know all about it.

I had intense sugar cravings and night-time
food binges for years before I discovered
a lifestyle-based system of living fit.

Over the years, I noted 9 tips in particular
that really helped me over the periodic
urges to keep eating sugar and snack
late at night — the two “diet-killers”.

Would you like to learn how to conquer them
without supplements, or dangerous-drugs?

Then you’ll enjoy today’s Fit Over 40 Q&A.

————–

> Q:

“Jon, I’ve just about had it. Every time I start
doing well on my dietplan, I get these massive
urges to binge on food…especially at night.

“My sweet tooth feels like it’s taken over my
entire mouth!

“Is there anything I can do about this? I really
want a lean and healthy body for the first time.
I know if anyone can answer this, it’s you.”

– Cindy Smith (last name changed)
Toronto, Canada

> A:

Hi Cindy;

I feel your pain…and yes, there is are many
things you can do about food-cravings.

The first tip I suggest is so simple most people
will never believe it works:

almond butter.

Or, raw almonds if you cannot get almond butter.

Just a teaspoon will put your cravings to rest
for up to three hours.

I’ve used this tip more times than I can count.
It has saved months of hard work by allowing
me to continue on my preferred nutrition plan.

Remember: you can always eat the foods
you desire — just do it on your own schedule.

>>> NOTE:

I cover eight other really easy tips for
conquering food cravings in my -freee-
e-book, “9 Tips for Overcoming Your
Food-Cravings.”

I give this e-book away when you pick up my
Fit Over 40 Success For Life Kit.

Go see — > “Fit Over 40″

Keep me posted!

—————————————-
Quote of the Week
—————————————-

“Hey Jon,

“It’s been a year and 4 months since I picked up
Fit Over 40. I finally went to my doctor this week
for a cholesterol check.

“He’s the guy who wanted to start me on statins
two years ago, and when I balked he claimed
that only “heroic efforts” (regarding diet and
exercise) would lower my levels.

>>> “Guess I’m a hero now!”

“The office just called and my total cholesterol
went down from 284 to 215, LDL (bad cholesterol)
from 199 to 133, and HDL is now 68.

“So I don’t need statins.

“She said the doctor was very impressed. Plus,
my BMI is down 10 points and although my weight
is only down about 20 lbs…I added at least 5 lbs
of muscle mass.

“Thanks Jon! Your book, your story and your
advice played a really big part in my success,
and now I have the numbers to back it up.”

*****************************************************************************

The headlines read:

“Health Costs Will Surge Without Better
Prevention”

Not “may surge”…WILL surge.

By prevention, they mean exercise and
savvy nutrition — not killing yourself in a
gym or on a treadmill and starving.

That never works. I’ve said that for years.
I show you what ‘does’ work in my book –

Fit Over 40
(In case you don’t have it yet)

Here are some excerpts from the CDC’s
latest report.

If you ever thought that exercise and
good nutrition was just about health,
hold on to your wallet.

“The cost of caring for aging Americans
will add 25 percent to the nation’s health
care bill by 2030 unless people act now to
stay healthy.”

That’s a direct quote.

This means more taxes for everyone.

This means our kids will pay through the
nose for our poor habits.

The article continues…

“Currently, 80 percent of Americans 65
or older have at least one chronic disease
that could lead to premature death and
disability.”

The vast majority of disease is preventable.
That’s right — the vast majority. Why?
Because the majority is self-induced.

Most people are sick because they do not
take proper care of themselves until it’s
too late.

The good news is sick people can feel
better through exercise and proper eating.
The better news is healthy people can add
years to their lives and save billions in
government spending…

…by eating right and exercising.

>>> There’s a pattern forming here

“Given the demographics, the economic
impact on healthcare will be enormous,”
said Dr. Richard Murray, a vice president
at Merck & Co. Inc., whose foundation
funded the study.”

“If people adopt healthier lifestyles, they may
not develop the expensive, chronic diseases
that raise health costs sharply, such as
diabetes, cancer and heart disease.”

Wow…the Top 3 killers! All decreased and
even stopped in their tracks by something
everyone can do.

Everyone, at any age.

Fit Over 40 — > for proof

The report concluded with this statement:

“We have the opportunity for prevention,”
Merck’s Murray said. “We need to be serious
about it.”

Listen: exercise and nutrition does not need
to be tedious, but it does need to be taken
seriously.

Most people will wait until life takes a bite out
of them until they get off their tails and take
action.

The shame of that is they are missing out life
by missing out on the joy of being fit and
healthy. There’s nothing like it.

Now you have one more reason to start now:
the future of our economy depends on it.

Just remember: it can still be a lot of fun.
And it should be. I’ve shown you 52 people who
made it fun, ages 40-80.

>>> Read more about them on my website –

Fit Over 40

Have fun, help prevent disease, and save
some bucks. That’s a win-win-win.

Sincerely,

10 Fatloss Questions You Should Be Asking
( Part 1 )

———————————————————————-

There’s stuff you know.

Then there’s stuff you don’t know.

But the key to success in anything is the discovery of one other variable:

The things you don’t know you don’t know.

Think about that.

So many people ask me questions like…

– How can I get rid of my stubborn bodyfat?
– How fast can I do it?
– What’s the best dietplan for me?

These are good questions, don’t get me wrong.

But there are at least 10 questions most people never know to ask.

It’s the stuff they didn’t know they didn’t know… make sense?

Today we’ll cover 3 of the 10…

     HIDDEN QUESTION 1:
“What’s The Best Dietary-Fat To Eat To Get Rid Of Bodyfat?”

Sounds nutty, doesn’t it?

The media loves to deceive you when it comes to dietary fats… and I’m here to set the record straight:

You absolutely must consume dietary fat in order to burn-off your bodyfat.

There’s an old saying: “Fat burns…but in the presence of dietary-fat.”

It’s true.

There are actually two “Best Fats” you should be eating:

Coconut Oil
CLA

Coconut oil is ideal to cook with. Use that in place of all the starchy foods you may be eating. You’ll get leaner faster… and you’ll be a ton more healthy too.

Coconut oil keeps you satisfied longer, lubricates your joints, and yes… actually helps you get rid of stubborn bodyfat.

Use 1 tablespoon per 50 lbs per day, but be sure to decrease your starchy carbs (breads, rice, potatoes, etc.)

CLA is a form of (gasp!) transfat… but it’s a healthy form that helps your body get rid of bodyfat. You can only get it in supplement-form… well, that’s the best way.

I personally take 4 grams per day. Jarrow is my favorite brand. You can get it at most health food stores.

I cover several other fats you need to eat in my video and book, found here:

     HIDDEN QUESTION 2:
“Why Is Cardio Bad For Me?”

Okay… that’s an over-statement. It’s not ‘bad’ for you… it’s just not nearly as ‘good’ for you as the media and magazines want you to believe.

Especially if you do it the way they suggest: Too long, too frequently.

Do it the way I suggest and watch what happens.

First, spend 80% of your exercise time doing ‘resistance’ training, not cardio… but rest very brief between sets.

My newest update to “7 Minute Muscle” is called “7 Minute Body”. It combines both “7 Minute Muscle” and an additional 100 or so pages of in-home ONLY workouts.

That way you can train in the gym… or in your home… and get it done in 7 to 14 minutes a day. Done!

You will be shaping your body and burning-off some major calories at the same time… all without boring cardio.

Then when you “do” cardio, do it the way I detail in “7 Minute Body”… use the 9-minute GXP Cardio Workout.

Add simple walking to this several days a week and your cardio is set.

GXP works because it is progressive and does not over-tax the recovery system. You warm up, then hit about 85% of your max effort, then cool down.

But the key is ‘when’ to do it… and that’s covered in my book.

I still enjoy sitting on my bike and watching TV, but I do that just to burn-off those last bits of bodyfat. Most of you do not need to do this.

It’s a waste of time for the masses… but resistance training is not.

Oh, one more thing: Runners have a far higher degree of heart attacks than non-runners. So cardio ‘can’ be bad for you if you over-do it.

NOTE: You can pick up “7 Minute Body” at 77% off…
but only if you get EODD…

     HIDDEN QUESTION 3:
“How Does Pizza Help Me Shed Bodyfat?”

Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?

Think again.

My dietary plan not only “lets” you eat pizza (or whatever your favorite foods might be) every week, several times a week… it DEMANDS that you do it.

What the…. ?

Yep. Here’s why.

First, I have you eat less on certain days and certain times. If done the way I suggest your metabolism (the rate you use fat, energy, etc.) will not slow down that much.

Then… at a specific time… boom! You eat a lot more food… and the best way to do this is eating your favorite foods.

First, they usually have more calories.. duh! Second, you’ll ENJOY the freakin’ process! Most “diets” fail because people hate them… too restrictive.

So I created my System from the ground up to ensure I never got bored with my eating… and the extra cals from pizza (or my favorite… Mexican… or Key Lime Pie… yum) actually boosts my metabolism sky-high.

Here’s an example:

Last week I ate the normal Every Other Day Diet-way… for me it’s the “Extreme Plan” (there are 4 Plans, each for different goals.)

So, after several days of lower-cal, lower-carb eating, I ate about 5000 calories of Mexican food (so good!) But the TIMING is crucial. You just can wing it. Don’t worry… I tell you exactly when to do it.

The next morning I saw more of my abs.

I went back to EODD-style eating, which I love btw… and then later had some Key Lime Pie… and what do you know? Leaner the next day.

Now I’m doing this as I “peak” — I have to be in top shape in December. The only time I stop this is 4 weeks prior to a photoshoot… but unless you want to be 5% bodyfat (and you probably do not) you never have to stop it.

Works like a charm.

Watch this and find out why:
