AS you guys know, I am not very experinced when it comes to life, I recently have learned that there alot of things that I take for granted, for one, my confidence, I am confident in the online world, yet I am not in the real world. This saddens me.

But I will have to make due with it. So I hope you guys will join me as I get ready to write CXC in May/June and as I attempt to make your blogging life much easier

Impacting Negatively

On Your Blog? Nope. If your blog has content worthy of being read, then it will get around. Your Readers on the other hand. You will lose. Yes you will lose. If they see that your content isn’t being updated then chances are they won’t check back, or they will have other feeds above yours. Or worst yet, the unsubscribe. This mustn’t happen.

Cost Effective Solution

When you are looking for content for your blogs, you should take into account your readers tolerance. Some have high tolerance for insanity and some of them doesn’t. Basically what I mean is that many readers come for only one thing and one thing alone. They don’t really care about what else you have to offer. Unless you can persuade them otherwise.

If you want, you could always hire a couple writers to keep the content fresh if you can’t. But if your like me, and have no money, then you could always convince them to put the content on your blog, and have a link back to their blog.

But you see the problem, right? You get the content you need, just to survive, but you also send traffic that way. It is actually a good thing. By showing support actually you build networks, and by building networks, you can help yourselves when you help others. Same principle as having a friend. You help them, they help you.

Now if you decide that your going to do everything yourself, with no help, then you should start brainstorming.

Brainstorming Tips/Ideas

Before brainstorming it is a good idea to remove all distractions. Everything from the sounds of your home/office to the melodies of the birds singing (don’t shoot them with a shotgun though).  If you need music and such to concentrate, then by all means concentrate. If you intent to brainstorm several complete full ideas, then your going to need a couple hours, or more. Ensure that you have time on your hands.

1. Reading Tutorials – You would be surprised the amount of ideas you can derive for content from these even so simple tutorials
2. Read Other Blogs – But don’t steal their stuff or ideas. The way of writing, their writing tips, etc.
3. Reading In General – This actually works No serious.
4. From Your Everyday life – Yes, even though your life may not be like some rockstars, if you still have a life and this life still shows somethings that are worth taking notice of. I cannot tell you how or where or when, but when life gives you these little tips, you will know.

I hope guys are able to take these tips and expand them for your own blogs (not the article mean people ). I hope they will be useful to you. Just remember brainstorming, is like living, its going to take a while, but your going to love what happens

As for the site itself, posts every couple days, I really need to make this a habit. It is alot of work, I don’t like to put up stuff, when I don’t have stuff to back it up.

This was just a quick update, so you guys would know, that I’m alive.

You should know, that your WordPress Blog has two faces, the Visual Face and the Tech Face. We always take of the visual face vefore anything else as we like to present ourselves well. We must remember though that without the code, our visual presentation means nothing.

So here are 4 tips for keeping WordPress Blog In Good Shape.

1. Repair Databases – Inside your phpMyAdmin, you should check all of your boxes and hit the repair function, this will ensure that your tables within your databases are always ready to be called upon.
2. Trim Databases – Often your database may contain tables with content that is old and not necessary for the functioning of your site, such as StatPress information, trackers, etc. These should be cleared every month or so.
3. Keeping Your Database Backed Up – Yes, I shouldn’t have to tell you, but you should back up your database at least once a week, your never know what freak of nature will take all of your hard work and pour it down the drain.
4. Separating Your Blogs – Be careful when hosting several different blogs, especially platforms on a single database, some platforms may or may not have the same table name, and even so, a slight mix up on your path may mean suffering for all of your blogs. I host all of my sites on different MySQL databases (partially because most are huge.)

In addition there are many other things you can do to ensure a faster, more efficient database, but I am not a database tech. I hope some of tips are useful to you all.

As a blogger, you lose before you gain. If you spent alot of money behind a domain and a hosting plan then you will be losing money the first 6 months or more. Only when you have acquired a good base of readers, then you will be able to move above the losses incurred. Eventually at some point you will start to see profits and rewards from all of your hard work.

I know how hard it is to gain readers and how much trouble it is to start off. Sometimes a year or 2 may pass with no significant increase in the subscribers or readers or even page views. This will always be a problem, many bloggers have removed this as a threat to them via advertising and the works. As I said before, in order to gain, you must lose. There’s something you should remember. Not all of your projects will be successful or even be recognized, the important thing is that you worked on it with all that you had and you still are. You never forget what what you are going for.

Tips That Help You Mange Your Time

1. Watch The Clock – Ensure that the time you set aside for a certain project is done. If you set aside a couple hours every other day to write a post then ensure that you write a post at that time and at that time alone. Don’t move into your other projects time as it can often lead to you missing the deadlines for the projects. In addition to that if you are depriving your other projects of time then you essentially deprive it of becoming your first-rate work and you will have to settle for second-rate work, nobody likes second-rate or knowing that their work is second-rate.
2. Stop With The Negatives – Something that you see all though your life, negative things often influence your thinking, at some point or the other it is responsible for you losing, sleep and valuable time. If you often find yourself with people who express negativity then you in turn express some of the negativity. This will impact on how you write and do your projects.
3. Plans – Often missed, as it puts you a supposed ‘rut’, but if you let your work sneak up on you then you will always be a second rate, and never be able to let it go.
4. Make Time For Your Own Insanity – I listen to music and reflect and think about the future, lame I know. You need to find that thing that allows you to lose yourself for a little bit. This keeps you sane. Whether it be playing games, making music or writing short novels, anything you can lose yourself in ensures your insanity never takes over.
5. Social Activity – I included this one because I like to be socially active, I like to meet new people and find new adventure, you never know who or what you will discover. A New friend, another muse? A partner? There is always something in the world that can be derived from social activity. Maybe if you look out the window, your break can be found?

Maybe, life gets easier? It is up to you in the end, now go out there, find yourself, find your muse and return and give the people what they want, and keep time for yourself.

Now as it turns out many social networks are now reskining their faces and hiring newer and newer programmers to to design and program a whole new range of features for their ever evolving platforms.

This brings me with a point that I am sure you have asked yourselves at some point in your internet/blog journey. You see your blog is not just a personal diary, that you run to when you have a problem or a little piece of the blogosphere that educates on a matter (s).

You see your blog a sophisticated piece of technology that needs to be at the top of its game to fully give you the chance of making it. It is here by the means of thousands of hours of programming and it is the result of many programmers, sometimes one, sometimes hundreds. It is tailor-made to fit a general range of entities, that you fit into.

If you all have noticed, this site runs on WordPress 2.8.4, and this is good, and when a new update comes out I try and upgrade. However, many social networks are taking this to new heights and integrating one another VIA API’s and such. This isn’t all that bad, but one has got to look at the downside, a constant bombardment of Twitter updates on Digg or Facebook? Really?

You gotta look at what’s happening, there are so many things with the internet, that are all combing, maybe we don’t want to? When a site changes too much there tends to be quite a bittersweet following, although it is mainly bitter.

A site that changes too much, kinda owns you at the end of the day, new technology is often unstable, and can cause many problems with existing technology.

However, it is currently WordPress 2.9-rare which means that it is a pre-alpha WordPress.

They are currently finishing up the programming on the new features, and eliminating bugs.

There are a ton of new features in the new WordPress 2.9 that I can’t wait to get my hands on!!

I decided to run around the blogosphere earlier and to my dismay, the blog that caught my attention, was pretty much none. There was no blog that I would care to spend my precious time on, let alone explore the site. They were so unappealing, that I couldn’t stand them at all.

So what I am telling you in essence, if your blog is boring, then your blog is boring. It will not be able to retain the users and readers long enough for them to unintentional aid you.

So how do you get you blog not to be boring? Well let’s take a look into the cause first.

1. Your Design – a unattractive design catches the eye quicker than the content. So even if you the best content in all of the internet, if your design sucks then so do you, and your blog.
2. Your Ads – Go ahead water-down your site with hundreds of ads and links, see where that gets you. If you site contains too many ads, it becomes intrusive, and it prevents you from building a true and loyal readership.
3. Your actual writing style – Now don’t get me wrong, its to be unique. This help separate you from the pack. But there is something as going over board. Your spelling can become annoying, how you phrase things etc.
4. Your Comprehension (Big word?) – If your readers cannot understand what you write and post about then what hope is there for them to return? Will they return to read your nonsense?

So now that we know some common mistakes, don’t you think it is time we fixed these little problems? That, are in fact, not so little?

Your Design

So how do you fix a design? If you are a small blogger, or a newbie, this will be very difficult as you have no budget. You can either consult another blogger, or ask a designer, who may charge you. However, if you have some CSS or HTML knowledge then you can make it yourself (You also need PHP to code a WordPress Theme).

Now let’s think about this for a minute, how do you want your visitors to feel when they see your website? Happy? Sad? Serious?

There are color schemes and layouts that reflect all of these, upon viewing.

If you are running a WordPress blogs, then a quick search on Google will help you find a theme to match your site.

Your Ads

Your ads are you main source of income, but your visitors didn’t come to see your ads, they have come to see your content, and if your content is obscured by the advertisements that you place on your site, then they will click it. (They may, hardly likely) Even so, a site with too much ads, often tend to load slowly and take away from the messages that the author is trying to impose on his readers. Long story, short. Drop the amount of ads you have for content, when the time comes you may slowly reintroduce ads into your site.

Writing Style

Now as I said before, your writing style is just as you signature, it is your own unique way of identifying with the world, and who you are. Your style of writing is always bittersweet. Some may like it, some may not. You choose a writing style and you move 0n. Once selected it becomes you.

There are however exceptions, there is always ways to piss people off. If the style isn’t clear to the reader then you lose a valuable subscriber.

Your Comprehension

Comprehension is one’s ability to understand an extract, etc. Now put simply, is your content easy enough to understand? Do people have confidence in you to teach them what they don’t know?

You content should be easy enough to understand, and shouldn’t contain too much terms that a reader is unaware of, if your post must contain it, you should specify and allow a link to a definition.

Conclusion

Being a boring-ass writer sucks, and you need to spice it up quite a bit. From your design to your actual content. There are many mistakes, and sometimes they are not all bad. However, as I said before, there are times when we do over do it.
