Harlem Republican Club Central Supports Huckabee Show

Last week several members of the Harlem Republican Club Central gave support for the Mike Huckabee show. Huckabee always searching for real down home Southern cusine was delighted with the large turn-out of Harlem Republican Club Central members .

Form Governer Mike Huckabee hosts "Huckabee" on FOX News Channel, which airs on Saturday evenings. A significant part of his adult life was spent as a pastor and denominational leader.

He became the youngest president ever of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, the largest denomination in Arkansas. Huckabee led rapidly growing congregations in Pine Bluff and Texarkana. He said those experiences gave him a deep sense of the problems faced by individuals and families.

Republican National Committee Invests in Northeast

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced it is transferring $100,000 to the New York Republican State Committee.

"The RNC is proud to make an investment in our state parties and hard working grassroots. These funds will be used to show our commitment to re-establishing a strong GOP presence in the Northeast. Our party is devoting the energy and resources necessary to win the special election in New York's 20th Congressional district," said Chairman Michael Steele.

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement tonight:
"Watching President Obama address our nation--and feeling the pride that is in every American's heart--it's worth pausing to celebrate our nation's achievements. Yet even as we mark this historic event, we recognize the deep problems that continue to face our nation. Republicans are eager to work with President Obama on the challenges he discussed, especially restoring fiscal responsibility and growing our economy.
"After last year's State of the Union, then-candidate Barack Obama asked the nation to imagine a time when a President's agenda would draw standing ovations from both sides of the aisle. That sort of bipartisanship is an admirable goal--and one that unfortunately continues to elude Washington. The Democratic leadership in Congress must be willing to work with Republicans to stop out-of-control spending, promote the creation of jobs, and to keep our troops properly funded.
"Now would be a good time for this young Administration to ask the Democrat leaders in Congress to actually consider working in a bipartisan way to solve the real problems Americans are facing.

The new face of the National Republican Party is Michael Steele

It's official. The new face of the National Republican Party is Michael Steele, a 50-year-old African American, the first in the history of Abraham Lincoln's party.At a time when Barack Obama is serving as the first African American president in history, the move is an interesting play to corral minority voters who will be crucial to a Republican comeback.
But Steele is actually a Republican. A foe of abortion, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland and native of that state regaled the Republican Convention in St. Paul, Minn., last year with his calls for offshore drilling. He got the whole convention floor to chant, "Drill, baby, drill," a call that echoed on the campaign trail whenever vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin referred to it.Michael Steele, who has argued the party needs to broaden its reach, won 91-77, in the sixth round of voting during the session in Washington after the three other candidates had dropped out. The last guy standing was Katon Dawson, chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, who belonged to a whites-only country club for years.
"As a little boy growing up in this town," a beaming Steele said in accepting the appointment, "this is awesome." _________________________________________________________

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Leaders of the NAACP on Saturday called for the firing of the New York Post cartoonist whose drawing lampooning the federal stimulus bill has drawn charges that it's racist and encourages violence toward President Obama.

Speaking at the civil rights group's annual meeting in New York, NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous said that if Sean Delonas is not fired, the group will call for protests of the paper and Fox television affiliates, which are owned by Post parent company News Corp.

"There is consensus that if the Post does not ... get rid of the journalists who are responsible for this bit of hate speech seeing the light of day, that we will move this from a local, regional issue to a very national issue," Jealous said.
