A new application called “YourTube HD” has reached Cydia app store that can save high-quality streaming videos from YouTube into your jailbroken iPad. This application can be purchased from BigBoss repository for $2 premium. If you haven’t already, you can jailbreak your iPad by following this guide.

According to the committee, the power consumption of a device is very critical for their customers and end users. The advancement in DDR3 memory standard will provide a more environment friendly solution cutting 15% power and cooling cost of memories. “The JEDEC DDR3L standard defines an energy-efficient solution that benefits the environment, manufacturers and end users,” said Robert Feurle, Vice President DRAM Marketing, Micron Technology.

Some manufactures are already using 1.35V DDR3 memories but in limited supply. Hopefully after this publication, major manufactures will move towards DDR3L standard. The app comes at a price of $1.99 which is worth spending for something that removes you out of your misery. Here’s a guide to install the app on your iPhone/iPod Touch device:

What you need to have:

1. Jailbroken iPhone with Cydia installed
2. Internet access on the device
3. $1.99 for ScreenRecorder

What you need to do:

1. Open Cydia and allow it to load data
2. Click on Sections tab and then click Utilities
3. In the utilities section, you’ll find ScreenRecorder package
4. Complete the purchasing procedure

Recording video is simpler than it may seem, open the ScreenRecorder app and touch the record button. The app will exist and start recording the screen in the background after 5 seconds. To stop the recording reopen the app and click Stop button. You can locate the recorded video at this location: /var/mobile/Media/ScreenRecorder. Verizon executive director David Clevenger said: Technical trials are staged [and] tiered in accordance with industry standards. They’re [now] completed. The so called Gorilla Glass Screen is the strongest screen among all cellphones and tablet devices. You can see the toughness of the screen in the video below. For iPhone 3G:

• Download the iOS 4.0.1 for your iPhone.
• Now update your device to the latest firmware 4.0.1 using iTunes.
• Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Windows or Mac.
• Run Redsn0w and give it the path to the IPSW file for iOS 4.0 which can be downloaded from here.
• Now proceed with the setup and select “Install Cydia’.
• Turn OFF the device and plug it to your computer and select ‘next’.
• Press the POWER and HOME button simultaneously to enter into recovery mode.
• Now press the POWER button and while pressing, hold the HOME button. Now release the POWER button and let the installation start. The jailbroken iOS 4.0.1 will now install which you can verify later.

Let’s take a look at Apple’s response after accepting the bad reception problem in its new iPhone 4

First solution: “Just avoid holding it in that way”

These are Steve Job’s words. As he further elaborated that every handset has a sensitive point; it’s how you grip the phone. You should just avoid holding it in a way that causes the bad reception. I don’t know much about the anatomy of a handset, and neither do most of people but, I have used dozens of smart phones, and it never occurred to me that my way of holding them in a particular way might have resulted in a bad reception. I still wonder how a billion dollar firm can end up suggesting a solution like that.

Second solution: Use a 30$ dollar bumper to shield the antenna

This happens to be the second solution that came in the mind of smart officials of Apple. One can avoid the problem by the use of different casing to shield the antenna and avoid its direct contact with the hand. Recently, Senator Charles Schumer, a Democrat from New York wrote a letter to Steve jobs asking him to come up with a proper solution to the reception problem.

In his letter he also mentioned that “The solutions offered to date by Apple for dealing with the so-called ‘death grip’ malfunction – such as holding the device differently, or buying a cover for it – seem to be insufficient.” And also he asked for a “clearly written explanation of the cause of the reception problem and make a public commitment to remedy it free-of-charge“.

Third solution: iOS 4.0.1 update

Yesterday apple released iOS 4.0.1 update as a solution to the bad reception problem. Again this wasn’t very effective for the problem, as the update only changes the way the signals bars are displayed. Apple said it was “Stunned” by the wrong display of the signal bars, there was a mistake calculating how many bars to display. While owners of the iPhone 3GS reported that an earlier update to their handset operating system has caused the occurrence of the dropped calls even more, as the phone reboots in between the calls.

Fourth solution: Apple Conference

Apple has called a press conference today and it is expected that Apple will provide another remedy for the eternal bad reception problem of iPhone 4. Event will take place at its Cupertino, California, headquarters at 10:00 am (1700 GMT).
