This is a guide for buying a heating pad to relieve the pain in your back. Weather is soreness from exercising or coming in from the cold many times the muscles in the back can cause pain. You can use either moist heat or dry heat to help penetrate the achiness in your muscles. Most important thing is that you have to choose the correct heating pad. A heating pad this that is more geared to to for treating pain in other areas of the body. The question is how do you determine the correct heating pad.

There are many different designs for heating pads. Heating pads for your shoulder or your knee are not going to be shaped in the manner that is best for your back. A rectangular flat heating pad works best for large areas of the body such as your back. Many people try to get by with a smaller heating pad but all that does is focus on a small area of your back it is not ideal to cover a larger area. A heating pad can also be used for creating warmth and relaxation over large areas of the body. It doesn’t necessarily have to be used simply for aches and pains. You may want to just use a heating pad for sitting at your work best just to cover your backside to make it more comfortable for those many hours sitting at work.

There are several types of heating pads that you may consider. Each one of the following heating pads are effective but they work in different ways. The first are electric heating pads electric heating pads come in rectangular designs and they contain coils that are part of a wire that is plugged into an electrical outlet. The convenience of an electric heating pad is that you can turn it on or off or set it low or high with a dial this usually connected to the court some of these heating pads also have a safety mechanism that will cut them off after a certain period of time which allows you to have comfort and safety.
There are microwavable heating pads on the market that are mostly used for relaxation. What is interesting about the microwavable heating pads are that they usually contain grains, beans, or rice that generate heat after being placed in a microwave. They also have the interesting characteristic of being suitable for aromatherapy. You can enhance your relaxation with the microwavable pad by adding aromas such as vanilla or lavender to the pad to enhance the end experience.
The last type of heating pad are chemical heating pads. Chemical heating pads are usually the ones characterized by being disposable. They don’t need a source of heat in order to create heat. They can be made of charcoal, iron powder and salt and they usually activated by oxygen. Chemical heating has are usually the cheapest of the three.

When considering moist heat versus dry heat the pads characterized by moist heat usually generate a much deeper heat into muscles and as such many medical professionals prefer them. The reason that they are more effective is because the moist heat usually heats deeper and increases blood circulation. Moist heat heating pads create a very relaxing experience and seem to be more effective at rejuvenating aching muscles.

The heating pad recommended in this article, the Sunbeam 912 XpressHeat Heating Pad, Extra large, is the number one seller on Amazon. It heats up very fast and it has an integrated micro plus cover that is machine washable. The key point is that it has a moist heat option for deep therapeutic therapy in treating your back pain. The pad is extra-large more than enough to cover a large area of the back for most people. It has six heat settings more than enough to cover your choice of how warm you would like to have the heating session set. As I said before it is fast it will heat up in as little as 30 seconds.

If you are going to use the moist heat option it is probably a good idea to include an information relief cream such as Penetrex. This cream is a pain relief therapy that can be used along with moist heat therapy to relieve inflammation. It is great for relieving tennis elbow pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, back pain, fibromyalgia, and shin splints. Check out all of these items on Amazon.

Heating pads are available for anyone to purchase. There is no regulation that says these people are able to purchase the heating pad but these are not. Individuals will buy a heating pad to help when they have injuries to the back and when their muscles ache from too much use. A heating pad can help the painful area by applying deep penetrating and safe heat to the area that is hurting. When applying the heating pad to any area of your body, make sure to start on a low setting and increase the heat as necessary. This will help you to avoid injury to your skin.

Don’t Reach for that Heating Pad!

In many cases the affected area experiences inflammation, stiffness, and swelling. Because the use of heat therapy is comforting to most of us, we tend to reach for it first. However, while it may relax the muscles (thereby easing pain a bit), heat therapy does nothing to address the swelling associated with your body’s metabolic response to trauma. As a result, inflammation increases once the heat is removed and in many cases the pain returns even worse than before….More at John Aaron Wellness: Don’t Reach for that Heating Pad!

Electric heating pads are great to help with achy muscles and painful areas in the lower back but they can also be dangerous to some people. The EPA has set standards for safety but when individuals do not follow the directions, they can lead to house fires, electrocution, or burns to the skin. The EPA also states that using a heating pad has contributed to diseases such as leukemia, and cancer.

When individuals trust sleeping with a heating pad they are putting themselves at risk. When a person first turns on the heating pad and places it on their area of pain, they usually want high direct heat to the area. Sometimes the person will fall asleep with a pad on too high. Burns and possible blisters to the area are a direct result of leaving the heating pad on the skin too long. There is one possible way to help keep the skin from burns and blisters. Layering a towel between the skin and heating pad will allow the heat to radiate to the area of pain but not allow the pad to be directly on the skin. Another good way to avoid blisters or burns from a pad is to place the heating pad in a pillowcase. A towel or pillowcase will keep the pad from lying directly on your skin.

There are other dangers to watch out for when plugging in that heating pad. The pad should never be in use in the same area with oxygen tanks. Explosions are possible if the heating pad is close to where you store or use oxygen tanks. Faulty wires or tears in the heating pad can also lead to electrocution. Make sure you check the wires carefully before plugging in to any electrical outlets. Keep the pad and electrical wires away from water. Water and electrical wires do no mesh and can cause fires or electrical shocks.

Diabetics should stay clear of heating pads. A person with diabetes is susceptible to diseases such as peripheral neuropathy where they cannot feel the nerves. They will not know how hot the pad actually is and tend to burn themselves. The same is true for individuals that have paralysis or loss of feeling.

Heating pads are wonderful when you have an area that is in pain. Be sure to use all safety precautions when applying a heating pad to any area of the body. Being cautious will decrease the chances for injury. When you use them correctly, they will help ease the pain in lower back areas or other extremities.

Far Infrared Therapy Effectiveness

This offers a safe and more effective alternative to traditional heating therapy methods. It does this by penetrating deeper into the soft tissue under the skin. Infrared is a deep spectrum of light that is able to travel through solid surfaces. This means it can penetrate skin easily and provide a soothing relief for tired and aching muscles. Physical therapists also use far infrared heating pads to treat damaged muscles and joints. Their ability to travel deep into muscle tissue speed up the process of rejuvenation. The infrared technology allows for significant results at a much lower temperature than conventional heating pads. This is safer for the skin and the tissue beneath it. Consumers and professional spas are adding the far infrared spa option along traditional spas because they allow people to stay in the sauna longer, enjoying more profound benefits of healing and detoxification.

Heating Pads

The technological options offered by far infrared therapy come in many shapes and sizes. Heating pads, massagers, mattress pads, seat covers and saunas are just a few of the options available to consumers and professionals alike. Far infrared therapy in all its forms will become more widely available as its benefits gain in popularity and scientific credibility. The safer method of heat and massage application allow for more prolonged use and personal enjoyability. Infrared light when combined with heat amplify the therapeutic effects. Both perfection and specialization of the technology are improving product designs and putting downward pressure on prices. People can enjoy these benefits in their homes comfortably. Professional spas also offer a variety of options with multiple therapeutic and rejuvenation techniques.

Those suffering from the common aches and pains inherent in going through daily life will certainly enjoy the ease and comfort of using far infrared heating pads for back pain. These pads can rest against skin surfaces longer because infrared carries the heat energy farther into the tissue at much lower temperatures. This maximizes safety and effectiveness at the same time. Falling asleep with the heating pad on will no longer result in burns the next morning. Increased blood flow to aching or damaged muscles increases the rate of healing and relief. In the now generation people want fast solutions and ease of use. Far infrared heating pads provide the instant solution. Comparative in cost to traditional heating pads, infrared heating pads offer a more advanced and healthier technological solution.

Therapy Saunas

The far infrared sauna is similar in design to traditional saunas. These new sauna options are available in all shapes in sizes, suitable for individual use or larger groups. They are found in homes and spas around the country. These saunas are not just for the wealthy. Models range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Traditional saunas can reach average high temperatures of around 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Doctors warn against spending too much time in these temperature conditions because doing so can cause significant added stress to the heart and blood vessels. A far infrared sauna operates at a much lower average temperature level, allowing for extended use and greater detoxification benefits. Muscles have longer to relax and tissue is cleansed with soothing infrared and lower constant ambient heat.

The Heating Pad as an Alternative Health Treatment Tool

A Far Infrared Heating pad is not widely known about as an effective remedy for chronic back pain. The reason for this is because the technology, as a back pain relief treatment, is relatively new and still relatively unknown. Before you read further it is probably a good idea to get up to speed on the treatment. You can find out more by going to this page.

Pain is one thing that many people do not wish to have or entertain. Though the pain thresholds of people differ from each other, it is still something that people would want to avoid. But then, pain cannot be avoided forever. An example would be the stress due to the lifting of heavy objects from one place to another. Sooner or later, back pain will be felt, as well as pain in other areas of the body. This is where the HealthyBack Institute comes in. The heating pad for back pain is recommended because it is readily available as well as easy to use.

For Product Details of the FIR Heating Pad by HealthyBack Institute Click this link

Many people suffer from back pains at almost any given time. Most would not like to take medications to stop the pain but are unable to work due to the pain. The use of backpain heating pad has been recommended by a lot of medical professionals as a non-pharmacological way of dealing with the pain. The use of heating pad for backpain is commonly used by many people because it is non-invasive and cheaper compared to the regular intake of medications. Heating pads are also reusable and could be used for other body parts as well.

What is so special about the FIR heating pad from the HealthyBack Institute? It is by far the most innovative type of pad because unlike others, it heats up really fast. The penetration of the heat is also deeper, unlike the ordinary ones that only penetrate up to 2-3 millimeters of the skin, not deep enough to help alleviate the pain. These pads will not overheat and the temperature could be regulated as to the tolerance of the user. The results are superb because the relief lasts for up to 5-6 hours! It is made of a flexible type of material, making it perfect not only as a backpain heating pad, but for other parts of the body as well. Since the Far Infrared heating pad contains jade stones, the blood circulation vastly improves when it is used.

A lot of people who have used the this heating pad from the HealthyBack Institute say that it is truly remarkable since it could help improve the range of motion of the joints. They also feel relaxed when the pad is in use. When this heating pad for backpain is compared to other pads, this is definitely the best and the most cost-effective of them all.

Evaluating the Best Mattresses for Back Pain

Buying a new mattress to use along with your regular back pain treatment can be very helpful. The hard part is picking out the best mattress for back pain. There is no definite answer to the question of which one is the most beneficial because everyone’s needs are different. Knowing a few of the key features to look for can be helpful. The best mattresses for back pain are neither too soft nor too hard. Too much either way can cause stress to the lower back and increase severe back pain.

The best mattress for back pain will provide the spine with the correct amount of support. Finding the right support can help or even prevent back problems from occurring.
The mattress needs to give enough support to the heavier parts of the body, and also to the natural curves of the spine. This will decrease back spasms. Attention should be especially paid to the support given to the hips, shoulders, and head. A good pillow will add even more comfort. A common mistake made when bringing home the best mattresses for back pain is placing it on an old bed. When possible, purchase new box springs as well as the mattress. Old springs can diminish the amount of support received. Older springs in general will not work very well when trying to correct back pain.
Space can be another concern when looking for the best mattress for back pain. Queen or King sized ones are better for sleeping two to a bed. People can move up to 60 times per night. One needs enough room on the mattress to do this freely.
Above all else, the best mattresses for back pain have to supply one with comfort. This is done by firmness and what the mattress is made of. They can be composed of air, foam, water, or traditional springs. The only way to know which is best for you is to actually lay on them, and try them out.
To stop back pain before it starts, one should periodically replace their mattress. Don’t wait until the spine is already sinking into the mattress. By this time the needed support has already left it. A new mattress will last five to seven years on average. Everyone’s needs change with age. As one gets older they should reevaluate their mattresses. The parts of the body may change when it comes to what areas need the most support.
The best way to judge how well a mattress is holding up is to go out and look at new ones regularly. Try the new ones out by laying on them. This lets one compare their current mattress to the feel of a new one. Many are surprised at the difference in them.Any time back pain is experienced, the mattress should be examined. A new one can be extremely helpful in pain management. You might find it gives you much better results than grabbing a heating pad for back pain.

I really like this heating pad, the TheraPad XL Heating Pad with infrared heating definitely beats the other ones I’ve tried so far. Definitely considering it a keeper. At first I thought that the heating pad would be a bit too heavy, but the weight was actually really comfortable.

One of my favorite things about the TheraPad XL Heating Pad is the nine levels of far infrared heat. It’s perfect for me since I can accommodate its heat level depending on the severity of my back pain. Another big benefit is the 10-hour automatic shut off. I don’t know how many times I’ve fallen asleep with other heating pads even though I know I’m not suppose to fall asleep with one on. With the automatic shut off, I don’t have to fear when I’m getting sleepy.

This video addresses one of the key environmental features of this product that we all should be concerned with (that I didn’t think of before but now its got me thinking). Shield Life makes the TheraPad XL Heating Pad :

Click Here For TheraPad XL Heating Pad Product Details

The biggest feature that really puts my mind at ease after purchasing this little baby is its EMF filtering technology which eliminates 99% of EMF. Because I use heating pads in almost a near daily basis, the possibility of EMF affecting me has been nagging at my mind for a long time now. I love how I don’t have to worry about those things anymore, the extra peace of mind I received from this product has definitely been priceless.

And before anyone says that EMF has not been shown to negatively affect body functions or increase risk of cancer, there has been data that shows that exposure built up over time can cause damage in animals. As I already mentioned before, I use a heating pad very very often for a prolong period of time, so this definitely makes me think twice. It’s one of the reasons that I believe this heating pad definitely beats out all others I’ve had. Also, though tests haven’t confirmed an EMF/cancer connection, it still hasn’t been completely ruled out. For me, I’d rather not take that chance, and I’m hoping others wouldn’t take that chance as well.

Another major feature is that the TheraPad XL Heating Pad uses far infrared heat. This means that the you can be under its heat for hours on end without feeling like you’ve been burnt. This means you can get a greater degree of heat penetration, which is great for arthritis and chronic pain.

So in all, you should definitely give this product a shot. Its put me at ease and have given me the pain relief that I so wanted to achieve.

The Case For Mary’s Husband Using the Thermophore Automatic Moist Heat Pack

My husband suffers from chronic neck and shoulder pain stemming from a car accident he had years ago. He uses heating pads on an almost daily basis to help loosen up tight muscles and alleviate minor soreness.

We have learned over the years not to skimp out and buy the cheapest models available, as they tend to heat up so hot and so fast when they first warm up that they can burn you – and several have left scorch marks on the plastic!

When it comes to something as important as pain relief, you really do tend to get what you pay for. When you are pain price is no longer a concern. Good heating pads like this one heat consistently without any fluctuation.

Another great feature is the automatic turn off function. The last thing you want to happen is to fall asleep with the heating pad on you and wake up with a burn. Often, if you are in pain you may be taking pain relievers or muscle relaxers and you may become drowsy while using a heating pad. By getting one with the automatic shut off, you can rest assured that you can fall asleep without any worry or complication.

The washable flannel cover on this model is great, especially if you use your heating pad for messy injuries on occasion. When you use a heating pad as often as we do, clean-up is an essential option. The size of this also just right for a section of the back, the neck or wrapped around an arm or leg.

Investigate Before Settling On the Best Mattress For Back Pain

For many people, finding the best mattress for back pain is crucial to getting a quality night’s rest. Those who are afflicted by chronic lower back pain have trouble locating a pleasant placement and will devote hours fidgeting, looking for a little comfort while they sleep. They may discover that their mattress is either too soft or way too hard and it can create problems for their partners’ sleep habits too. This is the reason there are so many various kinds of mattresses available today.

The initial thing an individual with back pain should do is speak with their physician and find out whether they have any recommendations on the best mattress for back pain. An additional option is to talk to others who have suffered equivalent medical issues. Most likely they have already discovered a mattress which has helped with their back pain. There are internet discussion boards that serve people that have chronic back problems and they will have the ability to offer strategies concerning how to get a full night’s sleep. One more thing each individual ought to take into consideration is their own individual tastes in mattresses. Some people realize that firmer mattresses help reduce back pain, while some favor a softer mattress.

A trip to the nearby furnishings store may help in finding the best mattress for back pain. Larger furniture warehouses have many different manufacturers of mattresses and make it easy for customers try them out. Just lie back and determine whether it could be something that one could see themselves sleeping on every night. Consult with the seller and see if they could have some recommendations on choosing one that helps with back pain. Reveal to them what helps with getting to deep sleep and what needs to be avoided. Following that, they should be able to assist in finding the best mattress.

Although chronic back pain can impede a few typical activities, it should not detract from receiving the rest each and every individual needs to survive. After a little analysis, finding the best mattress for back pain relies on personal desire. And the right mattress often means the main difference between a restless night and a restful sleep.

Author: Rickey Boo

Back pain is one of the most widespread ailments in the planet today. If you’re suffering from sciatica or different varieties of normal back pain, you do not need to continue to live with the pain. Sciatica relief will be achieved in a few easy steps when you are taking advantage of the information offered through the Back Pain Advisor.

Why Back Pain is Persistent

Chronic back pain will obstruct with your every day routine and rob you of quality time with friends and family. The Back Pain Advisor will explain three steps toward consistent back relief that is based on natural healing methods. You will know why your back continues to ache and what you can do to break that pattern of pain and experience real sciatica relief. You will additionally learn how to eliminate common back pain problems that individuals tend to overlook when they are seeking back pain relief.

How You’ll Achieve Back Pain Relief Naturally

When you understand the causes of back pain, it is a simple thing to counter those causes and get rid of the pain. This system is so simple to understand and use that you could experience back relief in as little as 1 day. The five steps toward sciatica relief are based on the natural structure of the spine and also the way that it’s intended. You will learn what you’ll be able to do to relieve specific stresses which will lead directly to back pain problems. Since you’re treating the basic causes of back pain, you will be able to eliminate the pain permanently.

Restore Balance

Every system of the human body is designed to work best when it’s in balance with the other systems. That balance may be a key part of the back relief methods utilized by the Back Pain Advisor. Spinal imbalances can twist the spine and cause chronic pain which will not go away till you restore the normal balance once again. This technique will teach you ways to take care of spinal balance and avoid back pain for good. The methods are simple to use and provide nearly immediate back relief.

Targeted Back Relief

These sciatica relief methods will also be used to focus on explicit types of back pain. There are steps that you’ll use to treat upper back pain, lower back pain, or any different area of the back that’s directly suffering. Understanding the overall structure and balance of a generally functioning spine permits you to focus on your pain relief efforts in the region that’s causing the most trouble. Back relief pain can change your life as you handle every new day with out the back pain that has slowed you down and kept you from performing the things you enjoy.
