It is very small, it works fast and can be used on all Windows versions (9x/ME/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008(R2)/Win7), even though Peeking requires Windows 2000 or later.

It is not a 100% copy of the Windows 7 features, but rather an improvement!… The Shake function shakes the window for you and the Peek function allows real access to the desktop instead of just showing it. And it’s also an improvement of the Show Desktop icon in your Quick Launch Bar or the Windows 7 Show Desktop Button: contrary to the original one, this one only minimizes windows and leaves Sidebars and Gadgets and such in peace.

On top of this, version 1.50 added an all new function, called PeekTop: this only Peeks through “Always-On-Top” windows that might block your view and it makes the active window semi-transparent, so that you can work with it and read what’s underneath at the same time.

Q: Help! The theme isn’t applying and I am getting a grey basic theme!
A: Make sure to patch/override your uxtheme.dll file using UXStyle or UXtheme Ultra patcher.

Q: Will there be a windows 7 version?
A: Probably not, since I no longer have Windows 7 on any PC

Q: Will there be other colors?
A: Maybe, although it’s not planned

Q: The up arrow icon is so ugly, why don’t you change it?

This is a new version of this tool that will change your Windows 8 Start Screen background picture.

This tool doesn’t need to edit your imageres.dll file anymore.

• • You can set your desktop wallpaper as background picture (not support for multimonitor, it just uses the main monitor’s desktop wallpaper)
• • You can select your pictures from any folder and set it as a sequence of background pictures.
• • There is a blur effect available, it is slow and slower on bigger resolutions, but it might work for you.
• • Tiles opacity can now be changed (not perfect though)
• • You can revert to default background

• • You can choose a picture and select the area to be shown as background picture.
• • You can set the StartScreen transparency
• • You can set the rows of you tiles (limited by your screen resolution)
• • You can run it on startup hidden, so you can see your custom background as soon as this tool starts

On screen resolution change, StartScreen remains with the previous background picture using the screen resolution (if application is not running), but the tool will fix it as soon as it detects resolution change.
