            <description>(Kansas City, Kan., Sept. 28, 2012) - The U.S. Air Force has agreed to pay a $12,823 penalty to the U.S. for Underground Storage Tank (UST) violations in 3 Nebraska counties. The violations occurred at Air Force facilities in western Nebraska.

In addition to paying the civil penalty, the Air Force is required to conduct a tank tightness test to determine if one of the USTs is leaking. The Air Force is unable to account for 1,490 gallons of diesel fuel in that tank.
