We are the only award in the world that judges photography on commercial value, and have the simple aim of unearthing fantastic imagery and getting it onto collectors' walls.

We differ from other awards because we are a business who’s key focus is photographic talent that sells. Judged by some of the industry’s most respected names, the award aims to discover, celebrate and nurture talent by signing the winners to one of our two specialist print sales galleries – Photo Democracy and Chris Beetles Fine Photographs, London.

We are looking for photographers who are passionate about what they do, and who make exceptional photographs. The quality, execution and concept must be of the highest quality. You can enter any 5 pictures that you like, from a considered conceptual series to a collection of unrelated images. Most importantly, we are looking for photographers who produce work that collectors would dream of having on their walls. All genres of top quality photography are welcome, from travel to still life and everything in between.

The Photo Democracy Award respects the applicant’s rights and does not claim copyright for works the applicant submits to this contest. The applicant will retain full copyright in each entry .

Entry fee is £20 (approx. 30 USD). This covers your entire entry, you do not need to pay per picture. Eligibility The Photo Democracy Award is open to any photographer worldwide. Prize • Chris Beetles Award : 1 artist to receive £2000 (approx. 3,000 USD), representation by Chris Beetles Fine Photographs, Mayfair, London and have their work featured in the magnificent annual ’The Photographers’ exhibition.

Images that inspire the viewer to want to travel to unique and beautiful places across Asia & Oceania; Images that make you want to pack your bag, jump on a plane and disappear to an exotic island, a mountain range, or a jungle. We want images that show us something familiar, yet with a new perspective, and give the viewer a ‘sense of place’.

The Eyes on Asia Awards does not want photojournalistic, gritty and/or troubling images. There are other contests covering those topics. We do not aim to make political statements or to focus in on the misery of others. While we look certainly for high quality photography, this is a contest that likes to celebrate travel and the beauty of life. We do not want to show the dirty and troubled side of a country, which in many cases you certainly may also find if you look for it.

Some of the changes are directly caused by human activities, either of entire communities or persons who sometimes change the world on their own - architects, politicians, engineers, literally changing the world we see, or, like artists, writers or journalists are changing our view of the world. A newborn child or a child leaving the shelter of parents change the climate in the family, as well as teachers and unknown heroes.

Our planet is changing due to the impact of space radiation, meteorites, it is changing due to human influence, is changing over Time... the theme of PhotoVisa 2013 is not only climate change, but the times in which we live.

Photography and Photo-series are judged in three categories:

• Microclimate. Man. The Changes.

What is a human today? In what ways the look and lifestyle of our contemporaries have changed, what are the factors that change the human way of life in our time? How the events of everyday life are perceived by our contemporaries? In what way the inner world of a person is projected in visible surrounding space?

• Social climate. The Changes.

Changes taking place in today’s society. Events; the activities of groups of people, photos of activities and its results, in the form of visible traces of modern society.

• Macroclimate. The Changes.

Change in climate and landscape of our planet. Harmonic and destructive impact of the humans on the Earth’s biosphere.

Single photos (no more than 15 by an author) and series that include no more than 15 works are accepted for the contest. One author can submit no more than 15 works. All rights for the works submitted belong to the authors of works.

There is no entry fee. Eligibility Photographs taken not earlier than in year 2009 by photographers of any age living in Russia or abroad are accepted. Prize Selected works will be exhibited at the International Festival of Photography PHOTOVISA in Krasnodar, Russia.<div class="feedflare">

Bop Decameron is a title which highlights the relationship that the book has had with Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film in 1970, in so doing it goes beyond the common notion that few of us are aware or know of the work by Certaldo’s famous writer - apparently this was the reason why Woody Allen gave up the original idea of titling his film Bop Decameron.

Celebrate the seventh anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Boccaccio with a series of contemporary artworks which tribute the writer and poet, in particular, contemporary themes present in his work ‘Decameron’. The object is to take stock of how artists today interpret the relationship between text and figure, in full respect of their independence and capacity to make research. How can the themes present in the hundred novelle of the Decameron speak ‘to’ or ‘of’ our time?

Artists are called to investigate the relationship between written text and images, new ways of telling stories in figuration, so as to once again make this book contemporary or illustrate a version of it which is more connected to our world today. Artists participating in the call should create works which update themes typical of Boccaccio’s world. The fame and good fortune of this book can be renewed through the creative use of the figure, but also through the many possible reductions or reinterpretations in film, just as the title of this call suggests.

There is no entry fee. Eligibility Bop Decameron is an international call, open to anyone wishing to participate regardless of age, profession, gender, either individually or as an artist group. Prize An exhibition of 10 works selected by an international jury will be held between July and September in the prestigious and historic rooms of the Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo Alto, Italy. The selected works will become part of the public art collection owned by the city of Certaldo, which already contains more than seven hundred works by international and Italian artists.<div class="feedflare">

Amsterdam Animation Festival 2013

The KLIK! foundation is a national and international force in provocative quality animation. With the festival as KLIK!’s flagship, and other exciting activities happening in its wake, we bring our passion for and knowledge of animation to a wide audience. With different themes each year we’re not just entertaining our visitors, we’re also trying to make them think about larger issues at play in society.

KLIK! treats animation as an independent art form instead of treating it as a genre of film and aims to make the medium of animation, in the broadest sense of the word, accessible to a wider audience in fresh and exciting new ways to stimulate the emancipation of the medium as a fully realized art form. To this end, KLIK! has organized the annual KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival since its inception in 2007 and a host of other activities throughout the year.

KLIK! aims to show that animation is much more than the simplistic or childish medium that high-brow culture purports it to be. Animation is more than film, it is a unique art form with its own visual grammar and endless possibilities and purposes.

Films can be submitted in these categories:

• Short Animation Competition
• Student Animation Competition
• Commissioned Animation Competition
• 3-D Stereoscopic Animation Competition

Your entry will also automatically compete for the Amsterdam Audience Award, the Young Amsterdam Audience Award and the Political Animation Award.

A maximum of 3 separate films may submitted per filmmaker.

There is no entry fee. Eligibility Entries are welcome from all over the world. Prize • Short Animation - 1,000 Euro (approx. 1,300 USD)

Our goal is to focus the world’s attention on this exciting, emerging genre of fine art that can travel across borders effortlessly and be enjoyed in a wide range of venues – from galleries and museums in the world’s biggest cities to outdoor public spaces in urban and rural environments.

Work submitted for this competition must be created, at least in part, on tablets, digital cameras, smartphones or computers . Traditional work can be part of the creative process, but the output must be digital rather than physical.

The competition aims to reach a growing, global public that is increasingly interested in art created with the latest technology. We intend to promote the most compelling work of well-known artists working with this technology as well as young artists who would otherwise not have access to a global audience.

It is our belief that the power of art can promote both change and social progress. In addition to accepting entries from anywhere in the world, we will also seek out artists in low income and conflict-affected countries and communities. To assist in this outreach, we are working with Peace Direct, a registered charity, which has links to local arts and cultural groups in many of these areas.

The Lumen Jury is seeking fine art of exceptional merit, originality, and artistic talent created in part or in full with the use of an app or software. Artists may choose to create their entries through the use of graphic design, animation, illustration, digital photography and/or non-narrative time-based work.

Entry fees are US$40 for two jpegs with a file size limit of 1MB or, if an entry contains moving elements, two URL links to time-based work with maximum length of 30 seconds. If selected for the short-list, artists will be invited to send their work at its original size and/or length. There is no limit to how many times you can enter.

The Lumen Prize Exhibition has been launched by Treberfydd Foundation Ltd, a not-for-profit company registered in Wales, UK. Any surplus, after costs, will go to Peace Direct, our partner charity, supporting its vital work with local peacebuilders around the world. Artists working in certain countries where Peace Direct is active will be able to enter the contest for free . Eligibility Entries are welcome from anywhere in the world. Prize This year, entrants will be competing for a prize fund of US $5250 as well as a place in the Lumen Prize Exhibition.

The Lumen Prize Winner will receive US$3000. The runner-up will be awarded US$1000 and the third-place Finalist will win US$750.

People’s Choice of US$250 will be awarded to the winner of an open vote of the 100 works chosen for the Lumen Online Gallery.
