It is once again Veteran's Day and while I love having the holiday off from my day job, I love everything our veteran's have done for us & our country more! Thank you for your service!

Unfortunately I don't have the 'Courage' or 'Service & Sacrifice' stamp sets (although I keep thinking I should purchase them one of these days). So instead of leaving you with a stamped project, here's a scrapbook page from the My Digital Studio software of me & my step-daughter at her graduation from AIT in Virginia a couple of years ago now.

Quilted Thanksgiving

Here's a great project courtesy of Marci Baldwin that was posted on the demonstrator-only side of the Stampin' Up! website:

I've been so busy getting ready for workshops & classes along with thinking ahead to Christmas that I haven't had the time to just stamp for fun! That will change soon though, so watch for more projects made by me next week. In the meantime I'll make sure to post other people's projects for you!!!

Instructions

1. Cut two tags from the same color card stock using the Sizzix Big Shot and the Two Tags Bigz die. Fold at score line and adhere together to form tent using Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive.
2. Adhere strip of Merry Moments Designer Series paper (2-3/4" x 1") to Very Vanilla card stock (2-3/4" x 1-1/4"), and adhere to front of tent.
3. Stamp Sparkly & Bright image in Chocolate Chip or Old Olive ink on Very Vanilla card stock, and punch out using 1-3/8" Circle punch. Punch scallop circle from Chocolate Chip or Real Red card stock. Adhere stamped image to scallop circle, and adhere to tent using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Pull taffeta ribbon through holes at top of tent and tie in bow.
5. Accent images with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.
6. Fill cellophane bag with candy. Fold in half and insert in tent.

Since it is Halloween today, here's one last Halloween project for you this year!

This fun wall hanging was one of the projects in my last Big Shot class. These classes are filled with awesome projects month after month and are quite in demand so start thinking now about signing up for my next round of classes starting in January! I am also thinking about adding some specialty Big Shot classes where we could get into sewing and other fun things so watch for more details on those in the new year. I just need to get past the holidays first before I get working on all of those details!

Joy Blocks

Here's a cute idea for the holidays! These wood blocks can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog & are so easy to decorate.

Instructions

Score Old Olive textured card stock vertically at 2-13/16" and 5-3/4". Score Old Olive textured card stock horizontally at 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 6-1-4", and 9-1/8". Remove left side and right sides of card stock down to first row of three squares, creating an upside down "T."
Lay Décor Elements Décor Block on card stock, and adhere. Wrap block, adhering each side.
Repeat steps one and two for remaining blocks.
Round corners of Whisper White card stock pieces using 3/16" Corner Rounder punches. Decorate as desired using Holiday Mix Décor Elements and embellishments.

Spooky Spider

I did these fun glass canisters as a class last year and remembered that I still had a couple of the Spooky Spider Decor Elements leftover. So I made these today and plan to keep one here at home filled with Halloween candy and donate the other one (also filled with candy, of course) to the United Way auction fundraiser that they do at my day job. I was volunteered (ahem...Melissa!) to come up with some donations, and this will be one of them. The other will be a basket of stamps, paper, ribbon, etc...with a Christmas theme.

These are really easy to make. You simply apply the Decor Element to the front of your jar & tie your ribbon around the lid. Decor Elements are very versatile & definitely not just for your walls! Here's a perfect example of how to use them 'outside the box' a little bit.

Make Merry Card

Here's another card courtesy of Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator website. It's so great to have all of these ideas right at my fingertips!

Instructions

Dry emboss Kraft card stock using Sizzix Big Shot and Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions embossing folder.
Ink branch image using Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin' Write markers. Stamp image on Whisper White card stock. Stamp bird image in Soft Suede ink above branch image.
Punch two scalloped squares from Real Red card stock using Scallop Square punch. Adhere to back side of Whisper White piece to create mini scalloped border along right edge.
Adhere Whisper White piece to embossed piece.
Adhere left edge of ribbon to back side of embossed piece using hot glue. Wrap around front of card stock, and secure using hot glue.
Adhere embossed card stock piece to card.
Begin folding ribbon over in an accordion, securing each fold with hot glue. Adhere right end of ribbon to card.
Stamp "Make merry!" in Soft Suede ink on Crushed Curry card stock. Adhere to card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tie crochet thread through button in bow. Adhere button to card.

Christmas in October

We woke up yesterday morning to this:

Did you notice that the leaves are only starting to change on this tree? I was not very amused! But within hours it melted and we didn't get any more snow today. Though the last forecast I heard mentioned 2 - 4 inches tomorrow :-(
As much as I am not ready for the extreme cold and snow, it did make me start thinking about my Christmas cards! I really like this one that I put together tonight, but it won't be my card for this year. Maybe one of yours?

I have no pictures for you tonight - sorry! I'm busy with stamp clubs this week and I am putting together my final project for the 12 Weeks of Christmas campaign.
