One of these principles is the principle of cross-specificity training. The concept of cross-specificity training is not a new principle in the field of strength and conditioning, rather it is a principle that has been applicable in strength training within sports for many years. As the acceleration of strength training, conditioning, and golf fitness occurs within sport of golf, it is necessary to revisit this principle and the application of it to the golf swing.

Cross-specificity training is a reference to the similarities between a training program or exercises and the athletes chosen sport, which in this case is golf. Cross-specificity training can be defined as training the athlete to the anatomical positions, biomechanical movements, and physical requirements of the sport. The goal of cross-specificity training is to impart a transfer of training effect. A transfer of training effect is the degree to which a conditioning program directly affects performance of the athlete during competition.

Understanding the basic definition of cross-specificity training we can begin to dissect the requirements of a conditioning program in the adherence to this principle relative to the sport of golf. The first step in this process is a biomechanical analysis of the golf swing. The golf swing in general requires the kinetic chain to execute a series of biomechanics movements in a specific order and with timing. If the order or timing of these movements is altered the execution of the golf swing will be adversely affected.

The adverse affects relative to the execution of the golf swing are commonly referred to as compensations. These compensations lead to a direct effect on the distance, direction, and flight of the golf ball. As a result, it is of great importance for the golfer to execute the biomechanics of the golf swing effectively and efficiently.

In order to execute the biomechanics of the golf swing efficiently and effectively one must keep in mind the physical component attached to this formula. This physical component is your kinetic chain. The kinetic chain compromised of the skeletal, muscular, and nervous system of the body supports the execution of the golf swing. In the most basic of terms, it is the golfers body executing the biomechanics of the golf swing, and if certain physical parameters are not present within the kinetic chain, the golf swing will be negatively affected.

To ensure the golfer has the ability to perform the biomechanics of the golf swing correctly, it is necessary to develop specified physical parameters within the kinetic chain. Certain levels of mobility, flexibility, stability, balance, strength, endurance, and power are needed in order to achieve a biomechanically proficient golf swing.

Now that we have a basic understanding of the biomechanics associated with the golf swing and the physical requirements to support these biomechanics, we can begin to develop a cross-specific training program for golf. Referring back to our definition of cross-specificity training, the requirements of such a program are developing the kinetic chain to the anatomical positions, biomechanical movement patterns, and physical requirements of the golf swing.

Empirical evidence suggests the application of cross-specificity training for golf commence with developing the physical parameters within the kinetic chain, and then proceed to developing movement patterns within the anatomical positions of the swing. Basically, it necessary to develop the physical foundation(mobility, stability, power) required of the golf swing before the introduction of modalities requiring the golfer to perform exercises in the anatomical positions utilizing movement patterns associated with the swing.

The simple way to look at this concept is move from general to specific. Develop fundamental levels of mobility, flexibility, stability, strength, endurance, and power prior to moving towards advance training techniques requiring a physical base of flexibility, strength, and power.

The first step in this process of developing a physical base for the golf swing is an understanding of the basic mobility/stability pattern of human movement. This concept was first noted by physical therapist Gray Cook and strength coach Mike Boyle. This principle states efficient movement within the kinetic chain of the human body occurs in an alternating pattern of mobile joints and stable segments. If this pattern of mobile joints and stable segments is altered, dysfunction in movement patterns will occur, and compensations in these movement patterns will be the result. The table below provides a joint-by-joint view of this pattern with the human body.

Mobility/Stability Pattern of Human Movement Table:
Foot-Stabile,Ankle-Mobile,Knee-Stable,Hip-Mobile, Pelvis/Sacral/LumbarSpine-Stable,Thoracic Spine-Mobile,Scapula-Thoracic-Stable,Gleno-Humeral-Mobile,Elbow-Stable,Wrist-Moble,Cervical Spine-Stable

As you can see from the above table efficient human movement occurs within this a feet to fingertips alternating pattern of a mobile joint followed by a stabile joint throughout the entire kinetic chain. It is obvious joints such as the elbow and knee are not rod like pieces of iron that do not flex or extend, but rather these joints are stabile in terms of limited degrees of motion.

Relative to the golf swing the mobility/stability pattern of human movement allows for the execution of a biomechanically efficient golf swing, resulting in the creation and transfer of energy through the kinetic chain. If the mobility/stability pattern is dysfunctional relative to the golf swing, the execution of the swing will be hampered, development of speed will be limited, and the transfer of speed to the golf ball will be compromised.

Once we understand the mobility/stability pattern of human movement the process of developing a cross-specific training program for golf can begin. The first step is assessment of the golfers current levels of mobility and stability. This process is completed through a series of physical screens. Once this information has been gathered we can then begin the development of the strength and conditioning program to address the mobility and stability needs of the golfer.

The second step is the development of a strength and conditioning program to clear any mobility restrictions and stability deficiencies within the kinetic chain. This step may require the assistance of a medical professional, but at the very least it necessary to implement a program addressing these needs of the golfer first.

A mobility and stability program will address the deficiencies of the golfer in a systematic format. A systematic format allows the strength coach to progress the golfer when ready and measure results. In addition such a program will allow for the introduction of more cross-specific exercises for golf to be implemented once the client is ready.

To summarize, golf fitness training should adhere to the principle of cross-specificity. Cross-specificity training for golf will train the athlete to the anatomical positions, biomechanical movements, and physical requirements of the sport. It is extremely important for any golf fitness training, golf exercises, or golf fitness programs to adhere to this principle. Certain steps can be taken to be certain the golf fitness program or exercise is in line with this principle. The first step in this process is assessing the golfers current levels of mobility and stability. The second step is the introduction of a strength and conditioning program to clear any mobility restrictions and stability deficiencies. Once this step is completed, the strength coach can then begin the introduction of more cross-specific training modalities into the golfers program.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Sean Cochran
Sean Cochran is one of the most recognized golf fitness instructors in the world today. All to often the golfer will neglect the physical components relative to the execution of a biomechamically efficient golf swing. Rather than develop the physical requirements of the golf swing, the golfer will spend an insurmountable amount of time practicing and money on golf lessons with minimal improvement.

The common thread in such instances is physical limitations in the areas of mobility, flexibility, stability, strength, and power limiting the ability of the golfer to execute a biomechanically efficient golf swing. The golfer must remember it is the kinetic chain of the body executing every phase of the golf swing, and in order for the athletic movements of the golf swing to be performed efficiently, certain physical parameters must be evident within the kinetic chain.

If the golfer is lacking in the physical parameters required of the golf swing, compensations in the execution of the swing results. These compensations lead to swing faults such as a loss of club head speed, poor ball striking, inconsistencies, and poor play. To prevent such a situation from occurring and provide the golfer with a physical foundation to execute the golf swing, the introduction of golf fitness exercises can be of great assistance.

Golf fitness exercises as with any sports-specific training program have the goals of developing the physical components within the kinetic chain required of the athlete's chosen sport. The end result of the implementation of such training modalities is a transfer of training effect into the execution of the golf swing. A transfer of training effect is the ability of a training program to have a direct benefit on the performance of the athlete during competition (Juan Carlos Santana, Institute of Performance, Boca Raton, FL).

Once the golfer understands the physical components connected to the execution of the golf swing as well as how a sports-specific training program can assist in the development of these physical components. The next step is the introduction of a sports-specific training program for golf. The ideal time for the introduction of such a program is during the off-season.

The off-season consists of the time of year in which competitive golf is not being played, and the amount of practice time associated with the sport is minimal. The traditional off-season for golf is the winter months where weather is not conducive to rounds of golf and the professional tour is on a hiatus. This provides an ideal off-season for any golfer from the recreational to professional level to implement a sports-specific conditioning program for golf. The ideal time frame for an off-season golf specific training program is 8-12 weeks. This is the minimal time frame required to introduce golf-specific training modalities into ones conditioning program to create adaptation in the kinetic chain. In addition, a time frame of 8-12 weeks allows for progressions to occur within the specific modalities of the clients off-season golf specific conditioning program.

Outside of the ideal time frames associated with an off-season golf specific conditioning programs are the goals of such a program. The general goal of the off-season program as stated previously is the development of the physical parameters within the kinetic chain required in the execution of the golf swing.

In order to achieve the goal of developing the physical components within the kinetic chain for the golf swing, a basic understanding of the biomechanics of the swing is needed. A brief review on golf swing biomechanics indicates the following: the golf swing is typically separated into phases which are; address, takeaway, backswing, transition, downswing, impact, and follow through. The goal during each of these phases is to keep what is termed the kinematic sequence in tact.

The kinematic sequence is a model determining the efficiency in the human body at which speed is generated and transferred to the golf ball during the swing. Researches behind the development of the kinematic sequence include Dr. Greg Rose of the Titleist Performance Institute, biomechanist Phil Cheetham of Advanced Motion Measurement, and Dr. Rob Neal of Golf BioDyanmics. The kinematic sequence allows a viewer to look at how efficiently and effectively a golfer generates speed, transfers speed through the body, and where in the golf swing a golfer may be lacking the physical or biomechanical requirements to execute the swing with the greatest amount of efficiency possible.

Understanding the kinematic sequence is imperative to the development of a biomechanically sound golf swing. The information provided by the kinematic sequence allows us to begin to dissect where the golfer physically is breaking down within the kinetic chain during the execution of the golf swing. This will be a cornerstone in the development of a golfer's off-season conditioning program.

Once an understanding of the kinematic sequence is in place, attention can be turned to the physical side of this equation in the form what physical requirements are needed by the golfer to execute a biomechanically efficient golf swing where the kinematic sequence remains in tact.

The ideal model to reference for determining the physical requirements of the golf swing is the mobility/stability pattern of human movement. This principle was first noted by physical therapist Gray Cook and strength coach Mike Boyle, and popularized in the sport of golf by Dr. Greg Rose. This principle states efficient movement within the kinetic chain of the human body occurs in an alternating pattern of mobile joints and stable segments. If this pattern of mobile joints and stable segments is altered, dysfunction in movement patterns will occur, and compensations in these movement patterns will be the result. A joint-by-joint view of the mobility/stability pattern of human movements is as follows: foot - stable, ankle - mobile, knee - stable, hip - mobile, pelvis/sacral/lumbar spine - stable, thoracic spine - mobile, scapular-thoracic - stable, gleno-humeral/shoulder - mobile, elbow - stable, wrist- mobile, cervical spine - stable.

As you can see the human body operates "feet to fingertips" in an alternating pattern of a mobile joint followed by a stable joint throughout the kinetic chain. Relative to the golf swing the mobility/stability pattern of human movement allows for the creation and transfer of energy through the kinetic chain from "feet to fingertips" into the golf club. If the mobility/stability pattern is dysfunctional relative to the golf swing, the development of speed will be limited, transfers of this speed to the golf ball will be compromised, and compensations in the golf swing will occur.

At this point, we understand the goal of an off-season golf conditioning program as well as the guidelines dictating the development of such a program. The next step is the implementation of a golf-specific conditioning program during an 8-12 week off-season time frame. The first step in this process is a physical assessment. An assessment through a series of physical screens will determine any dysfunctions within the kinetic chain relative to the mobility/stability pattern of human movement. If any dysfunctions are found during these physical screens, a series of corrective exercises will be incorporated within the golfer's off-season conditioning program for correction of these dysfunctions.

Once an assessment is complete, the next stage in the development of an off-season golf fitness program is a need analysis. A needs analysis is the process of determining what requirements the golf fitness program must fulfill. Such an analysis not only includes goals, but in addition, what pieces of equipment are available, time constraints on training, and the information from the physical screens. Once the needs analysis is complete, the development of the actual off-season program can commence.

An off-season strength and conditioning program is typically separated into the following training segments:

Mobility/flexibility training

Neuromuscular efficiency development

Strength/stability training

Power training

All or only a couple of the training segments listed above may be incorporated into a single training. Corrective and performance enhancement training modalities are incorporated within each of these categories. The actual exercises within each category are dependent upon a number of individual variables such as kinetic chain dysfunctions requiring attention within the golfer, goals of the golfer, and training experience.

The final steps in the development of the off-season golf specific training program is the introduction of the exercises into the program. Guidelines to adhere in this section are the introduction of exercises that are geared towards the individual needs of the golfer in a systematic and progressive approach. A useful methodology to utilize in the selection, introduction, and progression of exercises into an off-season golf fitness program is a periodization schedule.

A periodization schedule is the cycling of loads, volumes, intensity, and exercise within a given time frame. The time frame may be divided into days, weeks, months, or even years. The cycling allows for a systematic approach to achieving improvement in the mobility, flexibility, balance, strength, stability, and power as well as prevents overtraining.

Each time frame has a specific arrangement of load, volume, intensity, and exercises within the give time frame. The cycles of a peridiozation program are broken down into macrocycles and microcycles.

A macrocycle is the complete training time, which for golfers is usually one year. A mesocycle is a specific time frame within the macrocycle (for example, the off-season). The subdivisions of mesocycles for the golfer are as follows:

Phase 1: corrective, strength, stability, and endurance training
Phase 2: strength and stability training
Phase 3: Power training
Phase 4: Sports-specific training
Phase 5: competition/maintenance training

The off-season of a periodization schedule will typically find phases 1,2, and 3, phases 4, and 5 are found in the pre-season and competitive playing year.

Knowing the off-season consists of phases 1,2, and 3. The training for the golfer or golf fitness trainer can be focus upon the modalities incorporated within these segments, in addition to the development of these components within the kinetic chain.

To summarize, the off-season is the ideal time in which the golfer can take advantage of developing a physical foundation for the golf swing. In order for this to occur, the golfer must have a basic understanding of the connection between the physical body and execution of the golf swing. Once this basic component is understood, the development of an off-season golf fitness program can commence. The first step in this process is an understanding of golf swing biomechanics and the kinematic sequence. The second step is a basic understanding of mobility/stability pattern of human movement. After this final component is acknowledged, commencement of an individualized off-season program can begin.

The development of a golf fitness program in the off-season follows a specific order in terms of its development. A physical screen begins the development of the program to determine if any dysfunctions exist within the kinetic chain. Once complete with the physical screen a needs analysis is initiated to recruit the individual requirements and goals of the program. Finally, the development of the off-season golf fitness program commences with the utilization of a periodization schedule.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Sean Cochran
Sean Cochran is one of the most recognized golf fitness instructors on the PGA Tour today. Many people like this type of etiquette, but in the long run it just did not seem to work. Here we have described all the things that you need to know about etiquette on a golf course so that you can be the perfect gentleman.

What To Do When Teeing Off
It is a fact that golf etiquette is not something that is actually written within the rules of the game, but it is something that everyone needs to abide by. The first thing that you will do when starting to play a game off golf is teeing off. If you are playing a game of golf with a friend for fun then it is fine for either one of you to take the first shot of the day. Although, it is important that you practice proper golf etiquette by letting the person who has a better score tea off first on hole number two.

This practice should be continued for each hole on the golf course. Many people have different sayings such as your up or honors to tell the other person that it is there turn to go. It is not good to be the person that is constantly saying this because this means that you are constantly not scoring as well as your counterpart.

Replacing Divots and Fixing Ball Marks On The Golf Course
One of the most exciting things that you can do when playing the game of golf is to hit a nice shot into the green or onto the fairway. When you approach your next hole it would be disappointing to find that there is a giant divot on the box of the tee or even on a spot on the fairway. This is why it is important as a golf player to replace these divots by picking it up and playing it over the damaged area. After you place the grass on the area you can just step on it to keep it in place. Many people choose to use their clubs instead of stepping on it, but this can bend their clubs.

One of the worst things that you can experience when playing a game of golf is putting and having your ball hit a bump, change directions, and completely miss the whole. This is why it is courteous for you to fix any divots that you may create when playing golf. This is also why it is important to check your line before you check any put on the green of a golf course. You may even want to fix the divot yourself even if you are not the one that created it.

Playing Slow
It is true that you want to take your time with your shots so that you can make a great shot. Although, if you want to be nice to other players you should not take too long. The reason for this is that no one wants to be waiting for hours to use a golf course. This is why if you are not going to play well you may want to get a cart. It is true that golf is an extremely fun game, but you need to be nice to your fellow golfers.

If you take too long on each golf course you may even be surprised to find out that some old guys with walkie-talkies will come over and tell you to speed up your game. The fact of the matter is that you will have much more fun playing golf is you try and keep playing at a decent pace. This is why it is important to be ready to hit your shot when your turn is coming.

Dress Code
Many people do not realize how to dress when playing golf. It is true that writing about a way to dress is not written in the rules, but you should still follow proper golf etiquette in terms of how you dress. You don't need to where an expensive suite, but you could do so much as wearing khaki shorts and a nice short sleeve shirt. Many people do not realize that some golf courses even have codes describing how you should dress.

Many people think that dress code is not important even if you are visiting a very small par 3 golf course. The fact of the matter is that as a golfer it is extremely important for you to dress properly. It is still important for you to dress well as a golf player no matter where you are playing. This will ensure that no one bothers you about the way you dress.

The Most Important Rule
By following all of the basic tips that were described in this article you will be fast on your way to fitting into any golf setting. Although there is still one more thing that you must do if you want to truly have an amazing golf experience. This thing that you must do is something that we call having funny. This is the most important thing for you to do if you want to be a successful golfer and enjoy the game at the same time.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Kevin Kirkpatrick
Kevin Kirkpatrick speaks and writes on charity golf fundraisers and events. This is a short but important golf lesson and one of the best golf tips I have ever written.

So many golfers take very little time in setting up and addressing the ball. They just get up, get in a stance, and swing away.

When I'm playing golf, whether I'm gambling and hustling or just playing for fun, one thing that I always do before each and every shot is very simple but effective and this lesson will have you doing it too. It's a short, consistent setup drill.

Think for a minute about what you do when you approach the golf ball. If you have no consistent routine for addressing the ball but still wonder why you don’t have consistent ball striking, I have one question for you.

What the heck do you expect?!!

I laugh at golfers who set up haphazardly and wonder why they hit their irons fat or thin and have no consistency in their ball striking.

Listen to what Jack Nicklaus has to say on the matter:

“If you set up correctly, there’s a good chance you’ll hit a reasonable shot, even if you make a mediocre swing. If you set up the ball poorly, you’ll hit a lousy shot even if you make the greatest swing in the world.”

So, clearly we need to set up with some consistency and correctly each and every time we want to hit the ball.

Here are 6 easy steps to take to set up every time you address the ball in order to get into a consistent groove and hit solid shots that the pros use and for some reason almost no professional teacher will teach you while taking your money for lessons.

I guess they figure if they teach you enough to get a little better but not enough to truly get better on your own, you’ll have to keep paying them.

Anyway, here we go. I execute this set-up plan each and every time I get ready to hit the ball.

It may seem time consuming at first but after a few times at the driving range or rounds on the course, it’ll be second nature.

Besides, it takes a heck of a lot less time to set up this way than it does to look for your ball in the woods 4-5 times per round!

Let’s get started:

Get your feet in position first. Stand the right distance for you away from the ball with your feet together and with your elbows bent at your sides, arms in front of you and holding the club in the air. The club should be perpendicular to the ground with the head in the air.

Open your feet to shoulder width, make sure the ball is in the proper position in your stance, depending on which club you are going to use. The club head should still be in the air in front of you.

Now, without moving the club yet, you want to lock your knees stiff.

Bend down, lowering the club head behind the ball. Keep your knees straight, bend down from your hips and keep your back, shoulder blades and spine straight.

Now you can bend your knees, relaxing them slightly but not too much. Always feel like your leg muscles are “engaged”.

Lastly, tilt the upper body to the right so that your head is just behind the ball. Guess what? You’re ready to hit!

I cannot stress enough how much your game will improve if you are consistently following this set up approach.

You can get a free newsletter at my website if you want, where I’ll be blowing the lid off of more things the “driving range pro” won’t teach you in future lessons, so keep your eyes peeled!

Until then, thanks for reading. Good luck.

Big Freddy Kaboot

“As long as there’s been golf, there’s been gambling. It is important to follow these ten simple rules so that your golf game will improve and you get the most out of your ability. Golf is a very challenging game and even professionals find it very frustrating. People put far too much pressure on themselves about their technique when there are playing. However if people focused more on these top ten golf tips they will improve their game.

Correct equipment - It is important to be using the correct equipment. It does not matter how expensive the equipment is or the brand name however it must be the correct fit and suitable for you. When purchasing equipment it is important to make sure you have the correct length of clubs. Measure your height with your shoes on. By having the correct clubs it can guarantee club speed and control. If you are over 6 foot then your clubs should be one inch longer than standard. If you are below 5 foot 6 inches you will need one inch shorter than standard. By having the wrong length clubs it makes it more difficult to hit balls from the middle of the club. The correct shaft is important as the club could be too or stiff. Also it is important to make the correct decision between graphite and steel. When choosing you equipment you need to make the decision between graphite or steel. This depends on the build and standard you are at. Consult your local professional for advice.

Warm up - Before you play any sport a warm up is essential however golf is no exception. Many people do not believe that golf is a physical activity and does not need a warm up. It is still important to warm up for a round of golf as injuries can occur if you do not do so. Before playing it is important to stretch your back, shoulders, legs and neck as they are more prone to injury. Not only should you stretch to prevent injury but to enhance performance. By doing the correct warm up it can help with a larger shoulder turn and prevent stiffness. Your game could improve by one or two strokes just by warming up.

Fitness - Golf is a physical activity much to the disbelief of most people. You must be fit in order to walk the course let alone play difficult shots and concentrate. Golf does not require you to go on long runs and go to the gym everyday however some fitness is essential. This is including diet; it is essential to eat healthy before, during and after playing golf. Fitness is vital as it helps with concentrations levels so staying healthy is important. It is recommended that you do some exercise three times a week to help with golf performance.

Practice - You cannot expect to walk on to a course and shoot the course record without practicing. Practice is vital to improving golf and to play the best of your potential. It is important to practice as it helps with muscle memory therefore performing good shots time after time on the course. Well that is the theory! Before playing on a course it is essential to have a good idea of the technique. For the average player the most amount of time needed for practice is twice a week. It is important to find the balance between practicing and playing. The best thing to do is to play on a golf course as much as possible as it is there you need to score, not just on the driving range.

Mental game - golf is not just a physical activity but a mental game as well. Many golfers can hit the ball like a professional however find the mental side difficult. It is difficult to forget about a bad shot when there is a large amount of pressure on you or you have been practicing for weeks and then hit a dreaded hook. The only way to improve your game is keep calm and focused. By losing your temper your game is ruined so keep calm!

Swing easy - The majority of golfers believe that the better the player you are the further you can hit the ball. This is most definitely wrong! When watching players tee off it is easy to see that the reason why they are slicing the ball is because they are trying to kill the ball! Many players try to hit the ball harder and harder therefore hitting bad shots. The only way you can hit the ball a long way is by timing. Swing the club easy and focus on hitting the ball with a square club face than how far you can hit it.

Only chip as a last resort - Many players make the mistake of chipping around the green then fluffing it to make a more difficult shot. Players find it very difficult to chip around the green due to the short fringe area before the green. This makes it more difficult as the bounce of the club does not help with getting under the ball. You do not have to use your putter just on the green. Putting from the fringe or fairway is easier than chipping the majority of the time. If you have no obstacles in the way it is essential to make the shot as easy as possible.

Competitions- play in as many competitions as possible. By playing in more competitions it gives you more confidence every time you play. There is a big difference between playing a round of golf with a card and one without. Many people panic when they have to mark a card. By playing in more competitions you get used to marking cards and there is not as much added pressure.

Course management- Before playing in a big competition it is essential to know the course. It may be useful to walk around the course before playing it so that you do not miss the hidden traps. Even better purchase a course planner. By having one of these it shows you yardages to the green and how far water hazards are. Course management can help knock strokes off your game and improve your handicap. Practice rounds are also beneficial as you can try different clubs for the par three.

Attire-Feeling comfortable is important when playing golf. By having the comfortable clothing on it gives you that added confidence when you play. Golf is all about confidence and improving your scores. Wearing the correct attire can give you the professional look and the respect off other players.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the

Author:
Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan

with Forgan St. Andrews provides you best information about golf bags and golf clubs custom fitting. Especially like there is now. Technology has come a long way.

The mistakes I was making were not as easily fixable. Just goes to show you that you cannot watch the pros on Tv and then go out and try to copy their swings. it took them a long time to learn and with lots of practice. No amount of practicing on my own was ever going to get me swinging like the pros do now. can you just imagine trying to copy Tiger Woods swing?

If you are just starting out you have to remember that this game is not easy. It could take you a while to master some of the skills that go along with this game. it will take you lots of practice but you will get comfortable. There will be good days and bad but understanding that will help you succeed in the long run.

And that one day when you go out to play and things just click, ahh, those are the days we live for. That one thing you were working on that seemed so hard to do will seem natural, like you have been doing it forever.

Remember The Basics

The more you play this game the more you will realize, just stick to the basics. This might even work for you in your every day life. With golf there will always be ups and downs, just like anything else. But it will always serve you well to get back to the fundamentals of the game. With those you can never go wrong.

A good rule to live by is you want to always do better than the last time you played. It will not always happen but if you strive for that it will improve your game. Golf is a game of persistence and patience. These are just as important as hitting the ball. They will also drive you toward that ultimate goal of consistency on the golf course.

Hopefully you will not have the pleasure of watching someone with no patience out trying to strike that little ball and not having much success. it makes you wonder why they are even out there trying to play. Some good advice for that is to watch them closely and learn how to duck fast as you do not want to get hit with one of their clubs that they may fling about.

Be One With Your Clubs

As you begin to learn the fundamentals of golf, another piece of advice is to stick with the same set of clubs for a couple of years. Those early growing pains of golf can be greatly discomforting. It will help you to be able to have the reliability of knowing your clubs. they could provide the stability when out playing a good round.

Just knowing you have some trusted clubs can make your whole round easier. Especially in the beginning changing clubs can have a negative effect on your game. It could discourage you to the point of wanting to be one of those club throwers. Those trusted clubs will help you become comfortable with your game.

There will come a time when you will know when it is time to move on to that next set of clubs. It may be an intermediate set as you still may want a better set down the road, but at least you will know and feel like it is time for that to happen. Golf is a game that you can play for a long time. And I am sure during that time you will acquire more clubs than you will know what to do with. But I bet when and if you decide to give them up they will have a story, good or bad, that you will be able to share with some one.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Andre Arnett
Andre Arnett is a wanna- be middle handicap golfer who loves to be out with his sticks. Competitive golf and leisure golf are two completely different animals. Whether it's a 12 year old preparing for his first ever junior tournament, a business man preparing for the club championship or a fellow pro preparing for the PGA tour school, the atmosphere always get a little more intense when we have the goal of competition in our sight.

What is the one thing I would do to prepare for an important upcoming event? My answer! 100 three-foot putts a day for a week. That's right! Forget hitting bucket after bucket of drivers and head to the putting green. And don't just head to the putting green, but head three feet from the hole. This is the one area in golf that if we are extremely confident about, works into every other aspect of our game.

The drill is this. Pick a straight, three foot putt on the practice green and camp there for 100 putts per day for the week leading up to the big event. How does this drill work? Well as we start to hit the 100 putts, our eye begins to see the ball fall in the hole. It begins to see it fall in the hole again and again and again. This gives us some confidence. This added confidence begins to seep into our stroke. It becomes more solid and more confident. We begin to see more putts fall. It is a positive cycle that feeds off one another. On day one of this 7 day exercise, we may only make 75 or 80 putts out of the hundred. But by day 7, that number will be well into the 90s. Maybe even 100 out of 100. Now you are ready for competition.

Why is this short putt so important in preparing for competition? Because it effects every other part of our game. When we are extremely confident on our short putts, we can be more aggressive on our approach putts, because we have no fear of the come backer. We can be more aggressive with our chips because our short putts are falling. We can attack tight pins because we know we can get up and down if we miss the green. We can move with more confidence to the next tee to blast our drive after we've holed a nice three foot par save. And most importantly, making short putts keeps the momentum of the round moving forward. Nothing kills momentum more than missing a three foot putt.

So if you have an important tournament coming up, try the 100 three foot putts per day for a week exercise. I promise you, it's is the best was to calm the nerves and build confidence for that tournament. Good luck in that tournament and bring home that trophy.

"If you control the clubface-you control the ball"

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Nick Luvera
Clubface Golf's philosophy is to produce the best training products and educational material for the world of golf. Price! At that time, I thought one golf ball was pretty much the same as the next, so with only a few bucks in my pocket, I'd opt for the cheapest ball me could find.

But to be fair to myself and to be fair to other golfers (especially younger gulfs) I honestly didn't think there "was" a difference in golf balls. In fact, I felt I was paying more for the brand name than for any technological differences. Well, I was wrong. There are differences in golf balls and they can make a big difference, depending on the type of ball and how any particular ball is used on any given day.

Let's face it, most players (or at least the ones that I know) prefer to concentrate on their equipment rather than on the balls they use. They might have in their bag a Big Bertha driver, for more details visit to www.101-save-money.com some space-age high-tech composite irons, or even a handheld GPS unit, but the fact is, if the golf ball does not suit the player or the circumstance (i.e., weather), then the outcome of the intended shot may not be what the player expected.

In order to keep things simple and not bore you to death, let's just say, that there are essentially three types of golf balls: balata, two-piece, or a combination of both.

When you're choosing a ball, there are two things to consider (not including price, which would make it three):

In relation to your handicap, what do you need? If you are a low-handicap golfer and you're looking for the ultimate spin and control in a ball then you might want to consider using a balata ball. Essentially, this is just a softer ball, with a softer cover that allows for more spin. Because of this added control ability, this is what many pros play. They are not cheap though--but at this level of play, I doubt many balls are lost in the woods.

Now, if you play a higher handicap, you are probably more concerned with distance and durability. A good two-piece ball will be best in this case. These balls have a harder cover and will create less backspin, which allows you to hit it farther.

Keep in mind it's important to look at things like the weather and the course conditions when choosing a ball. When the course has been soaked with rain, you will need a ball that will travel farther and that produces less spin. On the other hand, if you are playing on a rock hard, sun-baked course, choose something softer that will land soft with increased spin to pull it up.

Temperature is important, too. When it's very cold out, the ball will not compress as much, so you would want to play a 90-compression. For reference, there are two compressions for men, 90 and 100. Use the 100 compression when it very hot out.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Rohan Nardia
www.fire-itup.com

How To Buy A Utility Club

There is a funny story attributed to golfing legend Lee Trevino. Lee was out playing a round of golf in the rain when lightning began to flash across the sky. Lee went over and grabbed his #1 iron out of his golf bag and held it over his head as he said to the gallery following them, "Now I'm safe. Even God can't hit a #1 iron!" And that's exactly how the average golfer feels let alone a professional and truly great golfer. Some clubs seem just impossible to hit. Due to that fact many manufacturers have looked for ways to make clubs easier to hit. One of the clubs that has come to the rescue of the everyday golfer is the hybrid or utility golf club.

In fact, hybrid golf clubs used to be called "rescue clubs" because they helped you out of tight spots and made hitting certain shots easier. These days hybrid or utility clubs have become extremely commonplace even among professional golfers. How do you know which utility club will work best for you?

Consider what you are looking for. What are the problems you're trying to overcome? Do you have trouble making shots with your long irons? Comparable hybrid clubs have a head design that allows a lower center of gravity moved further back from the face. This design will help you to get the ball into the air much easier and at a much higher angle. Problem solved. Do you have trouble controlling your shots? Many hybrid clubs have a shorter shaft and a shorter shaft will help you to keep your shot on target. The shorter shaft helps you to apply the head to the ball accurately for greater consistancy in the shots you take. Experiment with different club lengths in a hybrid to see exactly which length will help you with your shots.

Typically, you should also realize that a hybrid will get about 5 to 8 yards more distance than their comparable iron. So can get a bit more length in your shot and with a higher trajectory. You won't get as much roll because of that increased shot height but you will find you will have much more control on where the ball ends up on the course.

One of the things to remember with the utility club is to never try to "kill the ball". Always let the club do the work. That's what you bought it for. On the tee, set the ball very low and position it near the center of your stance towards the target. On the fairway, ball position should be closer to the center of your stance, you swing down and through the ball, hitting the ball first and then taking a small divot. From a bunker, position the ball in the center of your stance. Dig your feet about 1 inch into the sand and use a three-quarter swing but with a full follow-through. When you're in front of the green, just pitch and run shots just as you would do with a seven or eight iron. And always remember...let the club do the work.

There are so many varieties in shaft style, loft, design and flexibility in hybrid clubs that you can always find something that will work specifically for your particular golf swing needs. Because these clubs are easier to hit and the shorter shaft lengths make them easier to control and hit consistently, there is a definitely a place for a hybrid or utility golf club in every golfers bag. Don't leave home without it!

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Lee MacRae
Check out our golf club reviews before you look for golf clubs for sale.

How To Buy A New Golf Driver

Choosing new golf clubs can be a bit tricky today since there is such a wide range and immense variety available from so many different manufacturers. However, all you have to do is keep in mind some very basic fundamentals about a golf club and what you should look for. And most importantly, you need to look for something that will fit in with your own personal golf game and your particular golf swing.

For example, you may have a tendency to drive all your shots off the tee with a slice. This can become extremely frustrating and, although you can eventually eliminate this with more practice, you still want to be able to enjoy your golf game. The amazing thing is that today there are manufacturers who actually design clubs to offset this flaw. Take a look at the Adams Golf Insight XTD a3OS Driver or the Cleveland HiBore XLS Draw Driver. Club design includes a draw-biased club face combine to eliminate slices. The club can actually compensate for your tendency to slice. Being realistic about your game helps you to choose the proper clubs.

You may be a golfer who has trouble getting difficulty on his shots. You need to determine the reason for this. Swing speed may be your difficulty. Higher swing speed can result in increased distances on your shots. You simply may not have the strength to swing faster or you may be limited by some physical problems. Or you may be just starting out. The average swing speed for a beginner is 65 mph. More experienced and stronger players can get up to 100 mph with tour professionals developing even higher swing speeds. You can either have the local golf shop help you determine your swing speed or you can buy a small radar device that can help you determine it by yourself. Once you know what your swing speed is you can now look to offset that weakness with golf shaft that will work specifically for you. Each shaft has a particular flex or bend. A shaft with a higher flex rating will actually help you to develop more power from your particular swing speed and drive the ball farther. There is a wide range of shaft flexes available for your particular circumstances. Keep in mind that a shaft that is too flexible for your particular swing can actually give you a difficulty in your accuracy. Since the club head has to be square to impact for an accurate shot, if your shaft is too flexible the clubface can be all over the place instead of square.

Also keep in mind that clubs that are too long or too short will have a tendency to hinder your capability of being able to rotate in your swing causing you to improperly transfer your weight. You end up topping the ball or hitting the ground too soon depending on whether the shaft length is too short or too long for you. Standard club length for a driver is 44.0 inches in the steel club and 44.5 inches in a graphite club. A standard length for women is 43.0 inches and 43.5 inches respectively. There are charts that will show you the needed club length for your particular height and wrist to floor measurement. Someone who is 5 foot tall with the rest of floor measurement of 40.0 inches would require a club that is 2.25 inches longer than standard. A golfer whose 6'9" tall with the rest of floor measurement of 28.5 inches would require a club that is 1.5 inches shorter than standard. Again, ehen you buy a club make sure you have the proper length of shaft for your own particular circumstances.

Also keep in mind that a larger clubhead can mean a larger sweet spot. A golfer with an inconsistent swing will find this type of club much more forgiving and less likely to lead to bad shots. Those who have a much more consistent swing when hitting the ball "on the money" can benefit from a smaller club head that allows them to have more control. More controlling your shot means you can shape it anyway you want. Once again, the factors are extremely personal.

When choosing new golf clubs always keep your own personal circumstances in mind. It might be fine to ask your friends to recommend a good golf club but it may be a model that works for them and will only create more problems for you. Analyze each factor of your swing as well as your own personal physical attributes. In doing so will result in full satisfaction when you buy a golf club and it will show up with better shots than next time you play golf with your new clubs.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Lee MacRae
Check out our golf club reviews before you look for golf clubs for sale.

Golf Equipment Selection Tips

You've seen it all at home on TV. The magnolias and the dogwood are in full bloom. The red and lavender flowers surround the green which is perched at a steep incline just beyond a pond that is waiting for golf balls to fall into it.

The greatest golfer in the world consults with his caddy and throws a few blades of grass up into the wind. The flag stick is tucked into the upper right hand corner of the green and a decision must be made whether to go for the flag or hit the ball safely into the middle of the green. Tiger Woods caddy, Steve Williams, reaches into the gargantuan golf bag and pulls out an eight iron that has been specifcally manufactured to match Tiger's height weight and swing and all the things that he's looking for including loft, distance, ball control and spin, and the ability to shape his shot.

Now you have the bag and you want to get out there and duplicate Tiger. We have some tips for you on selecting golf equipment. You want to buy equipment and look professsional, but your pocketbook is not the same size as Tiger's and you are just a beginner.

Let's start with a bag to put your golf clubs into. Tiger's bag is huge and is an endurance test for his caddy. Maybe you need something smaller that will fit nicely on an electric golf cart, or that you can fling over your shoulder if you want to play nine holes. Spalding makes a classy looking, medium sized bag for the right price, starting at around $60.00.

Nowadays bags come with a place to put your cellphone and you will need a strap for an umbrella in case you get caught up in an afteroon shower. Large pouches are essential because a few of your balls may find their way into the water and you may hit a tee shot or two into the trees.

When buying golf balls for the first few rounds, try to find a ball with a good hard cover that can withstand some mis-swings and not be left with a deep gouge in the side. Titleist has a nice sturdy ball, the ProV1, that gives you some distance and is durable at the same time. Its Tour ball is designed for the better player and gives you control and spin. Go with the harder ball the first time out and save the soft ball for after you break 100.

Tees are wooden or plastic and are used when you are driving the ball on your first shot of the hole. You can't tee the ball up anywhere else. They are free in just about any pro shop in America and come with some nice print advertising.

You're almost set; now all you need are clubs. Try to purchase a driver or number one wood with an oversized head for your first year on the turf. This gives you a larger striking area and if your swing comes unglued you still have a chance to hit the ball solidly. A titanium head is nice and allows the club to gide through on its downward journey to the ball.

When it comes to irons for the fairway, look for something with a lot of flex in the shaft to compensate for any problems you may have with your backswing. Hollow irons move out and away as you start your swing and give you a better chance for ultimtately making contact. Remember how you choked up on a baseball bat for some more swing control as a kid? Ask your pro about giving you clubs that are slightly shorter so as to compact your swing and allow for less things to go wrong.

A putter with a weighted, straight, solid head is good for keeping your ball on line right into the cup. Of course, all of your clubs will have soft rubber grips and your woods will have matching headcovers. The Jack Nickluas Signature Series is right up your alley. Jack gives an 18 club set (you can only carry 14 under the rules of golf) and he includes a real nice bag. All of this costs a modest $298.00.

Hit em high and let em fly!

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Jack Yang
Author is the market analyst for the Web 2.0 Acobay Networking service. The reality is we all get older. Some of you may already know what I am talking about, and others may have yet to experience the phenomenon of aging.

Those of you who are reading this article are no longer spring chickens if you get my drift. Even if you are one of the lucky ones, still young, let me fill you in on what happens as the body gets a few miles on it.

Probably the biggest thing that we all dislike when we creep into our thirties and forties is the extra poundage(weight) we tend to put on. (It is also a lot harder to take off when we get older.)

Unfortunately, because our metabolism slows down, we are unable to pound down a burger, fries, and a couple of cokes without the bathroom scale hitting tilt a few days later. In my mind, that probably is the most difficult adjustment we have to make: an adjustment in our nutrition intake as we age.

The second most noticeable difference as we age, especially for the more active individual, is it becomes a little more difficult to get out of bed. The back is a little sore, the knees are a little creaky, and, if you workout, the soreness does not go away as quickly.

This is a result of a few things that happen to our bodies when we get older. Number one is we lose a percentage of our muscle mass on a yearly basis. After the age of 25 (do not quote me on the specifics, but I believe) about 1 percent of your muscle mass is lost per year.

Makes sense now why we get a little sorer and getting out of bed is more difficult. We simply do not have as much muscle to do the work. I could go on and on with the depressing facts of aging, but let us look at just one more before moving on.

As you get older you become less flexible. It takes you a lot longer to limber up for any sporting activity: golf, tennis, or a pick up game of basketball. Less flexibility predisposes you to experience more difficulty with certain movements: touching your toes, rotating during a golf swing, or even reaching down to pick something up off the ground.

Why does this occur? Our bodies, as a result of wear and tear, become more tight and less flexible as we get older. So there you have it! Some of the great things to look forward to as you get older (kidding of course).

So if you are in your twenties and reading this article, enjoy it while it lasts, because the road gets a little more difficult to travel as you get older.

If you are beyond your twenties, I am sure you can relate to the general results of aging in relation to your golf game. Quite simply, extra pounds decrease your stamina (and may affect your swing plane). Less muscle equals less distance off the tee, and decreased flexibility tends to make the turn in the golf swing much harder to perform. An unfortunate situation, but the good news is that we can slow down the aging process and limit the effects of aging on your golf game.

I have given you a some background information on what transpires from the aging process. It is now time to discuss how we can slow it down and in a sense reverse the aging process.

How do we do it? It is actually quite simple and only requires a little time out of each day (15-20 minutes) and a little discipline. Sounds pretty easy when you think of all the benefits you stand to gain.

Remember we can not stop the aging process, but we can sure slow it down. The benefits of slowing down the aging process are evident when you see guys in their fifties winning tour events.

It just takes a little time, some knowledge, and discipline. If you are saying, I do not have the time, let me ask you one question: How would you like to feel 10 years younger right now and hit the ball farther then you did in your twenties? I imagine the answer to both of those questions would be a resounding yes!

Let us start with the first topic that we described when you get older, the additional pounds. Unfortunately, as you age your metabolism slows down. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the word metabolism, think of it as your own internal furnace. It is the rate at which you burn fuel (food is fuel to the human body).

When we are younger we tend have faster metabolisms, and as we get older they slow down. Well, let me tell you, there are activities to speed that metabolism back up. The way to do it is by performing some fitness activities.

If you are active and participate in some type of structured activity your body will burn more fuel and elevate its metabolism during this time.

In addition, if these activities are resistance-training activities (weights, tubing, light dumbbells, body weight), then over time you will build some muscle. The great thing about that is the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be all the time (translation, you will burn more fuel all day and night).

A secondary benefit of such activities will be greater stamina on the course. So rather than spraying your shots around on the back nine because you are tired, you can have pinpoint accuracy going into the 18th.

Moving on to our second point, the loss of muscle mass as you age, this one is a tough one to swallow. Just think, we actually LOSE muscle as we age. Pretty depressing. The good news is it can be limited or stopped.

Before I give you the solution, let us look at how this affects your golf swing. Essentially, in the golf swing you create club head speed. That club head speed is the result of creating rotational power, which we define as torque. To create torque, the muscles of the body have to be flexible, strong, and powerful.

Now guess what? If you have less muscle, what do you think is going to happen to your power outputs and club head speed? The answer is they will decrease. No wonder they make senior shafts with a lot of flex. This is the golf manufacturers attempt to deal with this problem.

It helps to a point, but we have a better solution. How about putting something in your bag that makes you stronger, improves your power, and gets back that lost distance? Sounds good? Well, it can be done if you implement a golf fitness strength training program.

You can get back that lost muscle mass, get back that power, and improve your driving distance. This is what we call the development of golf strength, and it can be done with a program that takes a total of 15 minutes a day!

Finally, moving on to the flexibility issue, our bodies lose flexibility as we age. Flexibility is a must when it comes to the golf swing. Here is what happens when you do not work on your flexibility.

A loss of flexibility in the golf swing limits the ability of the body to perform the correct actions to create the proper swing. Essentially, your body will not allow you to take the club back and through on the correct swing path. This leads to miss hits, slices, hooks, and a whole bunch of other shots that are very unpleasant.

So how do we fix this problem or not allow it to become a problem? The answer is to implement golf flexibility program. This again requires a daily commitment, but the time frame is very little, about 5 to 10 minutes a day. So again, ask yourself: Is it worth spending 5 minutes a day on flexibility to have the golf swing you would like? I bet most of you would answer yes.

Well, there you have the pleasures, displeasure, joys, and sorrows of the aging process. We all get older, but there are things we can do to prevent the displeasures and sorrows. If we take a little time every day and perform the proper exercises and activities, we can reduce the effects of aging and have a great swing for as long as we like.

It becomes obvious after reading this article the benefits a golf fitness program can provide the mature player. Through a series golf exercises, a mature player can improve their flexibility, increase their strength, and develop more power. All of which lead to an improved golf swing. All that is required is a small amount of time and effort.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Sean Cochran
Sean Cochran is one of the most recognized golf fitness instructors in the world today. Golf irons are the clubs you'll usually use after you have used a fairway wood and before you use your putter. It is important that you have the proper golf iron for that middle portion of your game. Having the proper golf iron can help you to get on the green in fewer strokes.

When it comes to the material, there are basically two types of irons. You can buy forged or you can buy cast. Forging is an age-old method of shaping iron into a preferable form. Casting allows you to form the metal into more intricate shapes and designs. Cast clubs tend to have a larger sweet spot and make them much better for the beginner or high handicap golfer. They are more forgiving than the forged style of golf iron and can help you in overcoming the number of bad shots you normally have as a beginner. On the other hand, low handicap golfers tend to find they can control a shot much better with a forged iron. Due to the fact they have a more consistent swing, they are more likely to hit the ball on the smaller sweet spot and with more control and better shot shaping.

The club shaft is another thing you have to take into consideration. Basically there are two choices here that you can make. You can go with steel or you can go with a graphite shaft. Steel shafts or for those who have higher swing speeds. High swing speed helps you to put more power into each shot giving you the necessary distance for the club. If you have a slow swing however you need something to help you and here's where graphite shafts come into play. Graphite is lighter than steel allowing you to swing the golf club much faster which will usually give you more distance. Another aspect of using graphite shafts is where a golfer has arthritis or tendinitis. The graphite shafts absorb much of the impact of the club head with the ball preventing the shock from traveling up and hurting your hands.

Shaft length is another thing to determine when buying an iron. You need to choose the shaft length that fits with your body type. Generally if you measure:

29 to 32 inches then your iron should be based on a five iron of 37 inches

33 to 34 inches then your iron should be based on a five iron to 37 1/2 inches

35 to 36 inches then your iron should be based on a 538 inches

37 to 38 inches then your iron should be based on a five iron of 38 1/2 inches

39 to 40 inches then your iron should be based on the five iron of 39 inches

41 or more inches means your iron should be based on a five iron and 39 1/2 inches

As you can easily see there are many options available to you when buying a golf iron. You need to be very honest with yourself as to your capabilities, your swing speed, the consistency of your swing as well as your ability to hit a golf ball consistently in the same spot on the face of the club. Being honest with yourself will help you to choose the club that can actually make the game of golf much easier for you. The easier you make the game the more enjoyable it will be for you.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Lee MacRae
You can buy a great golf iron at a great price in our golf equipment store.

How To Choose A Golf Driver

I'm sure every golfer wishes they were John Daly and able to drive the ball a country mile on a tee shot. There is a lot of truth in the phrase "drive for show and putt for dough" but I'm sure a lot of people still want to put on that show for their friends. To that end many people look for the perfect driver among the various styles available today. Follow along and we'll show you some basics on what to look for.

The first place to start is the driver head. would you want to find is a club head that has a large sweet spot. The sweet spot is the area on the face of the club that will allow you to drive the ball the farthest and the straightest down the fairway. If you hit it just off the sweet spot your drive would go as far or as straight. Many clubs have been designed to have a much larger sweet spot for those golfers who are not as consistent in hitting the ball. Most manufacturers use titanium to give a larger head and therefore larger sweet spot to allow beginners and high handicap golfers to control their drives much better. The more experienced players will use steel driver heads. The sweet spot will be smaller but they hit the ball in the correct spot more consistently, they have better control of the club and steel is usually less expensive. You can obviously see there is a trade-off you have to consider.

The next thing you want to look at is the type of loft on the driver club head. the higher the loft, the easier it will be for you to get the ball up in the air. Less experienced golfers should use a 10° loft or more. Low handicap golfers will do well with the loft is under 10°.

Next up to consider is the shaft of the driver. Beginners and high handicap golfers should choose a more flexible shaft that will actually need them in generating more power in their swings. The more power you have the longer you can drive the ball. The problem with a flexible shaft is that you do not have as much control in the shot and it can go astray. Professional golfers usually have more strength in their swing is so they can use a much stiffer shaft that allows them to have better control. Again there is a trade-off you need to consider when choosing a shaft for your driver.

The type of material you use for the shaft of the driver will depend on your swing speed. A slower swing speed means you should use a graphite shaft since this material will help you to gain more distance with the slower swing. Again, professional golfers usually can generate a swaying in the 100+ mile per hour area and they tend to use a steel shaft to allow them more control over their shot.

The right driver is the one that fits your personal circumstances. A high price wanted golf driver doesn't always necessarily indicate a better golf club for your game. The best club is one that allows you to hit the longest, the straightest and the most consistent shots off the tee. The smartest thing to do is to go to a local sporting goods store over golf shop that allows you to drive a ball using different drivers. Take note of the various components of each driver use and how well it works for you personally. Try various combinations until you find one that works best for your game. The unique thing about many drivers today is that you can actually find technology that can correct a bad swing and help you to maintain a straighter shot until you develop more consistency. As you develop more speed, power and control in your swing you'll find your needs in a golf driver will change. Test out what you need again and go shopping online for the best price.

Article Source: http://www.upublish.info

About the Author:
Lee MacRae
You can buy a great golf driver at a great price in our golf equipment store.

Golf-fitness Exercises For Women Golfers

Golf fitness exercises can be beneficial for the woman golfer in terms of improving the foundation of the swing, rotation in the backswing, speed development in the downswing, and a consistent finish position. Learn how golf fitness exercises can benefit the woman golfer. Lowering golf scores and making the game more enjoyable.

It is well known in professional golf how integral golf fitness exercises are for success at the highest level of golf Men on the PGA Tour and women on the LPGA Tour understand the benefits of golf fitness exercises in achieving success.

Outside the circles of professional golf many questions exist about golf fitness exercises. Questions such as; what are the best exercises to improve golf fitness levels, are flexibility exercises and stretches better than other forms of golf fitness exercises, and what are the benefits of golf fitness exercises for the woman golfer?

These and many questions surround the topic of golf fitness. This article is to provide some answers for you on the topic of golf fitness exercises for woman.

It has been well documented in magazines and television how LPGA women such as Annika Sorenstam utilize golf fitness programs to benefit their play on the golf course. Is there a difference between the LPGA player and the amateur woman golfer in relation to golf fitness training? The answer is no. Yes, the women on the LPGA Tour are the best women golfers in the world, but the physiology of the LPGA player and amateur are the same.

The skeletal, muscular, and neural systems are the same. The professional golfer has the same number of muscles in their bodies as the amateur. The woman's professional golfer has the same skeletal structure as the female amateur, and nervous system as well. Granted the LPGA player has more refined and efficient swing mechanics, but the body is the same.

As a result of the body being the same, the principles and structure of a golf fitness program for any woman is similar. Before discussing the specifics of a golf fitness program for women it is necessary to understand a few important principles.

The first principle to understand about a golf fitness program is sports specific. Sports specific is a term describing the type of training utilized in a golf fitness program. Sport specific training simply states the program utilized by the woman athlete is geared towards improving them in their chosen sport.

A second principle closely related to sports specific training is cross specificity training. Cross specificity training is the utilization of exercises to develop the woman golfer in the positions, movements, and actions incorporated in the golf swing.

The goal of cross specificity training is a transfer of training effect to the field of competition. Simply stated, a transfer of training effect is the ability of exercises utilized to train the female golfer having a direct benefit on their performance during a round of golf.

For example, golf fitness flexibility exercises will attempt to improve the flexibility within the woman golfer. As the woman golfer improves her flexibility parameters in relation to the golf swing. She may be able to create a bigger shoulder turn, which may increase the distance of her drives.

This benefit is an example of a transfer of training effect onto the golf course. In summary, the three principles that assist in the development of a golf fitness program for women are; sports specific, cross specificity training, and transfer of training effect. Many additional principles exist that are used as guidelines in the development of a golf fitness program, but these are three essential ones.

Outside of the guidelines governing the development of a golf fitness program for woman. Specific physical components within the body are needed within the body to execute the golf swing correctly. Remember, it is the body performing the biomechanics of the golf swing.

In order for the golf swing to be executed correctly and efficiently certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power are required. These are the actual physical components within the woman golfer a golf specific fitness program looks to develop and enhance in relation to the golf swing.

The golf swing requires the body to move through a long range of motion for an efficient movement to occur. Much of this is contingent upon the ability of the core to coil and uncoil during the swing. In order for these two biomechanical actions to occur efficiently, the development of proper flexibility in the core is necessary.

We utilize flexibility exercises that are cross-specific to the movements in the golf swing to develop flexibility. The majority of these flexibility exercises are rotational and dynamic.

The golf swing is a dynamic movement, indicating that the body is in constant motion. It is crucial to develop a range of motion for the swing in a dynamic rather than a static (not moving) method. The goal of these exercises is to create a range of motion in the core for the golf swing. Flexibility is the first physical component requiring development within the woman golfer.

One needs to maintain, dynamically, a stable body throughout the entire swing. We have all hit balls at the range and know what happens when we do not stay balanced during the swing.

Improving the balance and stabilization capabilities of the core translates into a better golf swing. Better Balance equals a Better Swing. Even subtle movements are consistency killers; thus we need to develop and maintain balance for a consistent swing.

Balance is connected to the efficiency of the nervous system and strength of the muscular system working together. The development of greater balance in the core and swing is the result of two types of specific exercise. The first challenges the nervous system creating greater efficiency.

The second are exercises that create increased strength in the core. The combination of these two types of exercises permit for the body to maintain posture, promote efficient weight transfer, and create power in the swing. The result is a more consistent, accurate, and powerful swing. This is the second component included with a golf fitness program for women

Remember that the golf swing is a repetitive movement. The mechanics of the swing repeat with each stroke. This process can be repeated hundreds of times in a round of golf Ever go to the range and hit two buckets of balls? At some point the body starts to tire, and shots scatter.

Proper endurance training enables us to repeat a sound swing. We produce this through a series of exercises developing endurance in the entire body. This nets us a consistent swing through eighteen holes. Increasing endurance leads to lower scores. This is the third physical component of the golf fitness program for women.

Club head speed is a function of power. The more power generated by the body, the greater speed at which a club head impacts the ball. More power to the ball equals longer drives. Developing higher levels of power within the muscular system of the body is achieved through the implementation of power exercises. These types of exercise assist in creating higher power outputs of the muscles involved in the golf swing. Power training is the final component found in a golf fitness program for women.

In summary a golf fitness program for the LPGA or amateur woman golfer is relatively the same. Golf fitness exercises for the woman golfer are sports specific. The exercises contained within the golf fitness program are cross-specific to the movements, positions, and requirements of the golf swing. The exercises within a woman's golf fitness program induce a transfer of training effect onto the golf course.

The golf swing requires certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power to execute correctly. A golf fitness program for women will look to enhance these physical components of the body. The end result is an improved golf swing equating to lower scores and more enjoyment on the golf course.

About the Author:
Sean Cochran
Sean Cochran is one of the most recognized golf fitness instructors in the world today. Through biomechanical studies by the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) located in Birmingham, Alabama a sequential model of the golf swing has been developed.

Through the utilization of this model in conjunction with the kinematic sequence we can review the golf swing and determine the necessary physical requirements of the body for the execution of a biomechanically efficient golf swing in which the kinematic sequence remains intact. ASMI has broken down the golf swing into the following series of biomechanical movements: Set-up, Backswing, Transition, Downswing, Impact, Follow Through. In order to better understand the connection between the kinematic sequence, golf swing, the body, and the interaction of these three entities, we will look at each phase of the golf swing from a biomechanical perspective.

The set-up position often referred to as the address position, is the position in which the golfer places the body to begin the golf swing. According to Glenn Fleisig MD, the set-up position is a functional body position, which includes the proper grip. A balanced, athletic address position, which is consistent swing to swing, will provide the golfer with the correct starting position for the swing.

Inconsistency in either how the body is set up or with the grip leads to inconsistency from shot to shot. The body, in terms of muscle activity is fairly low at address. The muscles of the body are supporting the body in a specific anatomical position and preparing to swing the club. The backswing is when the body begins to move the club. The backswing is the portion of the swing that places the body in the correct position to begin the downswing. During the entire backswing the body begins the recruitment of energy that will be transitioned at the top of the backswing towards the ball.

Key points from a biomechanical analysis of the backswing are: as the club moves backwards, shear force is applied to the anterior portion of the right foot, at the same time a posterior shear force is applied to the left foot. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf); This is the beginning of torque development in the body that will be transitioned into the clubhead at impact. Rotation of the knees, hips, spine, and shoulders continues during the backswing. This creates additional torque to be translated into the clubhead in later stages of the swing. The important point to remember in the backswing is that the entire rotation of these body parts occurs around an imaginary axis of the body. The body during this portion of the swing is creating and storing energy to be released towards the end of the swing.

The biomechanical analysis of the backswing indicates this is the stage of the swing at which power development (clubhead speed) begins. The process by which this occurs is through the creation of torque, and the development of torque by the body requires rotation. Rotation in the lower body, torso, and shoulders is contingent upon a number of physical parameters such as joint range of motion, muscular flexibility, and segmental strength in the lower body, hips, core, and upper back. If any of these physical entities (flexibility, strength) are lacking, the ability to execute the backswing and develop torque will be diminished.

The completion of the backswing is termed the transition stage of the swing. The transition point of the swing is where the body finishes its backward movement and begins the forward movement. The best reference point of when the transition stage of the swing begins is when weight shift onto the inside of the right foot is completed (right-handed golfers) and movement back towards the left foot begins. Research indicates the transition of the swing is where additional elastic energy is stored within the body. This is a result of the lower body moving forward as the upper body continues to coil backward(X factor). Studies show at the completion of the transition (top of the backswing) the hips are closed approximately 45 degrees and the shoulders are closed to about 100 degrees. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf).

After completion of the transition, the downswing begins. Weight shift continues during the downswing. The generation of torque is created in the lower body and then is transitioned up through the body into the club. The majority of torque in this phase of the swing is generated by the glutes, hamstrings, quads, and core musculature (lower back, abdominals, obliques) of the body. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf) The torque created in the lower body creates acceleration in the upper body as energy is transferred onto the clubhead. Studies indicate there is moderate muscular activity in the pectoralis major (chest), latissimus dorsi (upper back), and rotator cuff muscles during the downswing. (Geisler, Kinesiology of the Full Golf Swing) The downswing is complete at the point in which impact occurs with the golf ball.

Keeping the kinematic sequence in place during the downswing allows for the generation and transfer of speed into the golf ball. In order for this to occur, high levels of neuromuscular efficiency, strength, and power are required in the lower body and core. This allows for power to be generated by each of these segments, transferred efficiently to the next segment of the body, and in addition, allows for each of these segments to slow down once energy has been transferred to next. It is important to note how dependent the kinematic sequence is upon the physical entities of the body to achieve this outcome. A golfer lacking physical strength, power, or flexibility will struggle to develop speed and transfer this speed to the golf club during this phase of the golf swing. Impact is the point at which the potential energy created by the body during the backswing, transition, and downswing is transferred into the golf ball. Impact with the ball occurs for approximately half a milli-second. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf) The purpose of impact is to hit the ball in the correct direction with the chosen amount of force.

At impact, weight transfer is complete. Shear forces from both feet are towards the intended target. Research indicates at impact the left foot (right handed golfer) is supporting 80 to 95 percent of the golfers weight. (Fleisig, Biomechanics of Golf). Execution of impact requires the release of the hands with correct timing for transfer of power to clubhead. In order to perform the wrist release into impact, shift weight correctly, sequence the transfer of energy through the body, and release speed into the golf ball, all phases leading up to this point must be execute correctly.

Errors in the kinematic sequence or phases of the golf swing caused by physical limitations, poor mechanics, or improper equipment will affect impact. Physical impedances to the golf swing such as a lack of mobility, flexibility, limited stability, or a lack of power development will show up at impact relative to ball flight, distance, and direction.

One common physical limitation viewed in many golfers is a lack of stability (strength) in the core section of the body. This limitation impedes the ability to maintain a fixed spine angle and develop torque, both of which become very apparent at the impact position of the golf swing.

After contact, the impact stage of the swing is complete and the follow through stage begins. The follow through is essentially the deceleration of the body after contact with the ball has been made. This is completed through the body rotating to a completion point where the clubhead is behind the golfer.

The follow through is where the kinematic swing ends, energy not transferred into the golf ball is dissipated, and the body slows itself back down.

Information on the kinematic sequence and biomechanics of the golf swing provides an insurmountable amount of information about the golf swing. These segments of information provide any golfer, swing coach, or conditioning coach with a great deal of insight on how speed is developed in the swing, how energy is transferred to the clubhead, and what is physically required of the body to perform the golf swing efficiently.

We know limitations in mobility, flexibility, neuromuscular efficiency, stability, and/or power will cause limitations in the execution of a biomechanically efficient golf swing as well as negatively affect the kinematic sequence, resulting in less accuracy and distance on every shot.

About the Author:
Sean Cochran
Sean Cochran is one of the most recognized golf fitness instructors in the world today. While it may seem unachievable, just practicing and working to improve a few minor things will greatly better your skills. Once you have determined what you must do, practice the skills until you have them perfect. Remember, a good putting skill will surely translate into a much better long shot as well so taking the time to improve on your putting is really essential.

You are of course going to take the time to practice to make yourself better, but the exact skills that you need to practice tend to vary from player to player. As a standard rule of thumb, there are three things that you need to specifically focus on in order to get the greatest golf game attainable. The best skill is insuring that your swing is correct so that you will contact the ball precisely in the middle of the club head. If you are not hitting directly on the center you will never be able to conquer the skill of putting. You simply cannot hit the ball from the side of the club head and expect it to go perfectly. No matter how long you practice, this is not possible and will result in plenty of frustration over what you are doing incorrect.

Once you have worked to get better at striking the ball from the very heart of the club head you need to advance to seeing to it that you always hit the ball in a straight line to the target. This means if the ball needs to go 2 feet away from you towards the pond, you would not want to aim the ball towards the tree standing next to it. You may think this sounds a tad bit unusual, but some people do not squarely approach the ball to the object. They then stand around and wonder why they are missing their putt. Even if you are off by just a tiny bit, this can seriously change your putting skills because the ball is not going to go exactly where you want it to go.

You will definitely need to practice this point a great deal, most people do not realize when they are just some what off center from the target. Nevertheless even the smallest difference away from the target will ultimately be a missed shot and an raised handicap. Work on this by seeing to it that you take enough of time to practice. This is even a skill that you could practice in your office, or bedroom at home using a smaller at home putting kit. However, going to the driving range is not going to assist you here so avert them if viable while you are shaping this skill.

Your very lastskill that you need to work on to better your putting accomplishments is working to insure that you are accelerating the club head when you are actually coming into contact with the ball. Many players make the mistake of slowing the club down right before they really strike the ball. This will make you to drop off the momentum that you require in order for the ball to make it to your target. If you have a bad golf swing, it may work against you alot and cause you numerous problems in trying to play a successful game. While learning how to swing the club successfully may seem hopeless it truly is something that you can easily do with a lot of practice and a lot of patience to really continuously practice your skills.

In the beginning, it may seem literally hopeless to discover how to properly swing the golf club. This is regrettably due to the many diverse views of a successful swing that come into play. From the proper stance, to the right club to use, to even the way you control the club and then ultimately the way you change your weight there are some things that can vary your swing skills. This can oftentimes make it quite challenging to determine why you have a terrible golf swing, and what you have to do in order to make you a better golfer.

The vast majority of people who take golf lessons tend to spend a bunch of time working at ways in which they can get a better golf swing. This is one of the main skills that you need in golf. Without good swing skills, you simply cannot play a quality round of golf regardless how hard you try. This makes it extremely important that you spend a lot of time finding out how to improve upon your skills. Your initial step should always be finding oneself an teacher who is patient and makes you feel comfortable. This is important because you need to be relaxed in order to insure the proper posture.

If you are working with an instructor that you feel intimidated by, you are much more likely to be stressed. This may cause your golf shot to be wrong, and ultimately hinder your golf game. Because of the comfort that you call for, it is urgent that you are comfortable with your teacher so that you can loosen up and center appropriately on your overall form. If you have complications controlling your golf swing you may need extra sessions with your teacher so you can perfect any problems you are realizing before you go on.

With a lot of time, plenty of patience and a knowledgable golf instructor you might very well be astonished at just how quickly the rest of the facets of the game appear to fall into place once you have perfected your golf swing. Without a mighty swing, you are not likely to have a very winning golf game, which in essence can have the outcome of making golf unenjoyable to play. Patience and exercise to better your general golf swing is a very good thing to do so that you can see that you are getting the best determination possible each time you swing at the ball. Merely swinging to swing will surely leave you very stressed out and with a very dreadful golf score.

You may discover that you master a great golf swing in a single lesson or it may take you alot more lessons to master the ideal golf swing. Regardless of how long it takes you, this gives you a good base to shape up and should not be rushed along. If you are a natural at golf you will be able to advance alot faster, however if you have complications with your golf swing it is perfectly typical and natural that it will take a bit of extra time to master the skill. Numerous people when they are starting out to play golf spend more time perfecting their golf swing than acquiring any other single skill for golf. You should also anticipate to have this same need, after all a bad golf swing will result in miserable playing skills while a stable and refined swing will make you highly successful.

About the Author:

Jeremy James
Get the latest Tips and Advice on How to lower your Golf Score. Learn why the discipline of stretching improves strength, stamina, flexibility and mental toughness. When you take all that to the course you will hit the ball farther, straighter and more on target than ever before. Make your golfing buddies envious with your new and improved swing.

With the weather turning colder as winter sets in many of us will have limited golfing opportunities. In the coldest climates courses close and as for the rest of the country, well you have to be especially dedicated to play in the cold conditions. Just because we can't get to the course or the range doesn't mean we have to forget about golf or our efforts to improve our game. We should take this time to work on improving our swing, putting stroke and our bodies.

The most overlooked item from the list above is our bodies. The more physically fit we are the better it is for our golf game. Strength, stamina, flexibility and mental toughness are all important benefits gained from becoming more physically fit. Now no one said this was the most fun aspect of golf or that we needed to go to Tiger like extremes. Applying yourself to a routine of golf oriented stretches will yield a noticeable benefit by the time warmer weather returns to your area.

The key with any stretching program is consistency. Choose a routine that you can and will utilize daily. Even a little time invested daily will be of great value to your goal. We all want a consistent golf swing. It is something we yearn for every time we hit an errant shot, but here is the cold hard fact, the truth that many don't want to hear. The reason we are inconsistent on the course is because our bodies are unable to execute our golf swing 80 to 100+ times a round. Late in the round we are just not up to the task, but that does not have to be the case.

Just the least amount of golf oriented stretching will make a noticeable difference to your shot making. You will see more successful shots per round, improved scoring and lower handicap just a few weeks into your stretching program. Let me emphasize this again. If you will be consistent with a golf oriented stretching program your swing will become more consistent. And that folks is just what we are all seeking as we work to improve our golf swings.

I saw all this happen first hand when my golfing partner and friend, Dooley Duffer began his program late last fall. He had noticed the signs of late round fatigue and decided to do something about it. He said it was about time he did something for his health anyway and if it would help his golf swing, well, all the better. Dooley found help with Mike Pedersen and the Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide. He began working on a few stretches and stayed with it all winter long. As time went by he started playing better and feeling stronger in the later stages of the round. He attributes his 10 minute morning stretches to his improved performance on the course. Dooley says he can feel improved strength in his legs and abdominal muscles. All key elements to producing a sound golf swing.

Why not try a stretching program of your own? Wouldn't you benefit from a stronger more flexible body? Would more stamina at the end of a round help you score better? Burning a few extra calories each day would be a good thing for most of us too. Add in some off-season swing instruction and indoor putting practice and your winter time golf improvement program will be all set.

About the Author:
Wayne Hudler
Wayne Hudler is an avid golfer of over 30 years and golf writer. And yet a golf putter is a very important part of a golfer's arsenal. In fact, in many ways the golf putter could possibly be the most important club in your bag. Most golfers will take two thirds of their total shots within 100 feet of the hole. And your putts take up a large part of those shots. So what exactly should you be looking for in a golf putter? The first thing you'll notice is the number of different putter shapes that are available. The blade putter is the traditional style used for many many years on golf courses around the world.

The blade putter is narrow from face to back and long from the heel to toe. Many people feel more comfortable using one of these standard, classically shaped putters. The more modern shape is the mallet putter. But even then these new putters can come in a variety of shapes although they are all typically just as deep from front to back as they are from heel to toe. You can find square shapes, triangular shapes and just about everything in between. Through the use of these different shapes, along with a variety of materials, a higher moment of inertia can be achieved when manufacturing the head. The moment of inertia is simply the ability of the putter head to resist twisting when you hit the ball. This twisting can send the ball off target.

There are also a variety of materials used for putter heads these days. You can get a putter that is forged, cast, milled or crafted from aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, nickel, beryllium, plastics and a number of other materials. You can get them with various face materials and various inserts, again crafted from various materials to give different feels, striking surfaces and moments of inertia.

When you think of all this variety, the smartest move is to go to a golf shop or sporting goods store and check out the various types of putters and see how they "feel" when you take a shot. That will help you determine what exactly will work for you in a putter shape and material. you'll also note that some putters include some type of alignment lines to assist in lining up your putts. some will have lines, some have notches, some will even have a system of lines and arrows to assist you in making the shot. Will these help pr hinder you?

Also keep in mind that you don't need to keep the grip that comes with the putter. You can always have a club fitter change it to a better grip for you if you find a putter that is perfect in every other aspect. Never settle for less than the best in your putter. But the most important thing to remember when you're trying different golf putters is that one of the largest parts of a professional's putting stroke is confidence. If you have confidence that your golf putter will strike the ball firmly without twisting, that the face is milled properly to give you a consistent striking surface then you have won half the battle. You can concentrate completely on sinking the putt.

About the Author:
Lee MacRae
You can buy a great golf putter at a great price in our golf equipment store.

Tips For Picking The Best Golf Bag

A golf bag forms an important part of the equipment that lets you carry all your golf items. These items include your golf balls, golf clubs, markers, tees and even umbrellas and towels. Golf bags don't impact the result of the game. However they can have a great effect on your attitude by providing comfort as you move around the course.

The more you play golf, the more sensitive you are likely to become to the bag that you choose to use for your game. You can choose golf equipment that meets a variety of practical needs, while also selecting from a range of styles that express the correct tone for who you are as a golfer. Golf bags are no exception to this rule. The gear you choose will not only play an important role in your game on a practical level by determining the accessibility and protection of your clubs. It sends a message to spectators and fellow golfers regarding your attitude and capabilities in the game of golf.

The amount of load of your gear you keep in the bag depends on you. You can also decide how it will be carried around the course. You can either carry it by hand, or ask a caddie or put it in the cart. If you want to ride in a golf cart on your rounds, then the weight does not matter. But if you want to carry it yourself, then it makes sense to carry a lighter bag.

The basic bag comes in three sizes. The first is a staff golf bag or tour golf bag. Obviously, this name comes from the professionals that are on staff with a certain company to promote the company's products. The second is the golf cart bag. These bags are typically not quite as large as a staff or tour bag and are meant to be placed on the rear of a golf cart. These golfing bags are not meant to be carried by the average player during their round of golf.

A golf stand carry bag can be used on the bac k of a golf cart as well as carried by the player during the round. These bags are typically about 4 pounds in weight prior to adding your golf equipment. Depending on the golf you usually play, any one of these styles can suit your needs. In determining the kind of bag will best suit you and the type of golf that you play, you need to first decide if you walk or ride most of your rounds of golf. If you walk the majority of your rounds, you will need a golf stand carry bag. You may choose to also have a cart golf bag for trips or special occasions. In addition, you will need to think about your typical golf club and how your golf clubs are normally transported about the club.

Do you have to personally carry them quite a bit or is the staff able to assist you with your bag? I think that you get the drift, the more that you carry your own clubs the more you need a golf stand carry bag. The golf stand carry bag is a smaller bag designed for those who are prone to walk the golf course or have to transport their own clubs around the club. These lightweight golf bags are designed for the players comfort as they are carried by the player. Although these bags are light weight they can hold a full set of golf clubs (fourteen), golf balls, range finder GPS unit, tees, umbrella as well as a rain suit. These bags typically have room for a pair of golf shoes for when you travel.

The staff or tour bag is the largest selection of golf style bags which is available, they are much larger that the travel carry bag or the cart golf bag. You see the professional golfers on TV use these bags. However, they do not personally carry them due to their weight. They travel with caddies to help them instead. The amount of equipment that these golfers can carry is as much as they would like and an average PGA Tour Bag is 40-45 lbs with all the equipment in it. The price for the staff tour bags is substantially higher than that of the golf cart bag or the travel carry bag.

Ultimately, you should buy your gear bag based on personal preference and style. Determine which type of bag you prefer, or have one of each for varying games. Then assess the features offered by each bag and compare them to your own needs and preferences as a golfer. Lastly, style can also play a role in your selection. Weigh these factors to select a great bag that is right for you as a golfer and as an individual.

About the Author:
Matt Chang
Ready for great golf packages in Arizona? But have you ever thought what goes into making a good golf course? I mean, what makes a good golf course, and what makes a not-so-good golf course? While we don't have the freedom to go through special device designs, we can hint on some of the aspects of a golf course that makes it fun to play yet challenging too. Like the small golf course, a recurrent golf course should be fun. You very can't add the fun windmills or other hazards on a recurrent golf course, but you can use the accepted rudiments of the land to help make challenges into the design. Visibly, the first thing you're free to must is land. I mean, you're free to must A LOT of land!

The golf course must have some long yardage defects as well as some abrupter yardage defects. However, most golfers will grant that having typically longer defects is a great challenge. But they also must those abrupt par 3s for a little ego boost! Keep reading further to learn how this topic can benefit you, as the rest of this article will supply you will the needed information. Having numerous smooth bunkers is a great way to organize challenge on the golf course. Most bunkers are located around the defect, but they can also be sited in the fairway for added headaches! Having to hit out of the smooth provides for all sorts of stroke modifications, and golfers worship to have the challenge at hand! Water hazards are another great way to give golfers a challenge on the golf course. inherent lakes and rivers can be found all over the place, but you can also invent man-made water hazards by digging out a large corner and stodgy it with water - clearly!

Water hazards make a player have to use elegance to shun them and make a golf course fun to steer. The golf course that we play most regularly used to be a cow ground. The revolveing mounds that used to have Holstein's instead of golf carts make this particular golf course a lot of fun to try and get "up and down" on. Rolling mounds root a golf ball to - take a estimate here - revolve! You may have a great need, but if your ball manor on the plane of a mound, it will also fuse there making your shot hard or it will revolve off the plane. also way, this is another way to make a golf course challenging. Inherent leaves and woods are also part of the golf course environment. There's nothing inferior to consider on a golf course than the sound of your ball striking a ranking. Then you have the fun charge of difficult to find out where the ball landed. Did it go expand in or did the ranking drive it out into the fairway? also way, you have another great way to challenge manually with accepted rudiments.

Scheming a golf course can be great fun - for both the deviceer as well as the player.
