I had a great weekend! We ended up going to the fair and the movie on Saturday. The fair was a lot more fun than I had originally expected. I was a little scared that M. would drag me into all the scary rides, (I’m a pussy!) but there was only one that we went on that I didn’t enjoy. (the spider.. told you I was a pussy!) Somehow all these rides seem to go a lot faster than they did ten years ago. Same goes for water slides by the way. Anyway, we also went on the Ferris Wheel and the Log Ride but as always I had the most fun playing the Penny Pusher. There’s something relaxing about dropping those coins, I don’t even care about the prizes!

After I read some of the reviews at IMDB, especially on the message board, I was a little scared to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for myself. People were pulling it to shreds! But I saw it and though it wasn’t too faithful to the book, I had a great time!
Beware there might be spoilers ahead!

Just a couple of points:
1. The moment Cormac McLaggen licked his finger at the Slughorn dinner, all the girls in the theater went “Owww!”.. And I must confess, that was hot!
2. There was no explanation given why Snape’s the Half-Blood Prince.
3. While Harry was on Felix Felicis, for a moment I thought I was watching a parody. A good one, an enjoyable one, but still a parody.
4. The conversation at the end. Or no wait, the ending in general. Just weird.

On Sunday morning I slept in. My Mister however did not, for some reason he decided to clean the fridge instead. Because that is what you do on Sunday morning when the baby is away, right? Oh well, at least now I don’t have to do clean it, as I had originally planned.

Casper was supposed to have his check up today, but they postponed it for a week. It doesn’t matter when we plan these appointments because they always postpone it. I’m really curious to see how much he weighs and how tall his is now! He’s getting so big, I can’t believe he’ll be one year old in three months! My big son, I’m so proud!

My little manchild is in his cot, by the sounds of it much to his displeasure, and here I am sitting down to blog for the first time in a very long time. So that last part is not exactly true. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve sat down to blog quite a few times, but it just never happened and I guess that is because I overthink it too much. I should just go with the flow and stop thinkering untill there is nothing left to post. I mean, it’s a blog for crying out loud, not a novel!

So what’s been going on? I’m happy to report that I’m quite happy! I’m starting a new job at the end of August, I’m getting better at keeping up with household duties, Casper is doing great. Last week he learned to crawl (It seemed to take ages before he got it) and he’s happily been getting himself into trouble ever since. He’s also eating a lot more in a day than I do. I mean, this guy can down three slices of bread and still have room left for a banana.

If all goes well (I have yet to ask) Casper will be spending the night at my parents house this Saturday and we’ll go out and do something fun. What exactly is yet to be determined. We can go and see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Or we can go to the Fair in Tilburg. (The biggest in the Benelux) Or we can go out for a drink. Whatever we end up doing on Saturday night, you can count on us doing something on Sunday morning what I’m really, really looking forward to, which is (you guessed it) sleeping in! Ha!
