The food looks good and well presented. The temperature is right because there are no open fridges and you can even get free recipes from celebrity chefs before you pay.

The iPhone mobile application is sadly not in the same standard as the physical experience. The navigation is inconsistent, the search is not working well and some of the icons are too small for a touch device.

When typing in a search query the results show images instead of text. This doesn’t give users any indication whether the search results are relevant.

Navigation
This navigation tab is confusing. When users clicks on the tabs they would expect the content on the top to change but this tab system only affects the content below. Navigation bars works best in a fixed position rather than scrollable objects.

Toggle view
The ‘toggle view’ button is too small for a touch screen device. Users are likely to press the ‘cook’s tools’ instead of this button.

Recipe’s action
This looks like the same interface you can find on the Jamie Oliver app. The interesting thing is that on both cases the grouping of the buttons is messy. In terms of affordance, the Category/recipe filter looks like a button instead of a tab.

If a user doesn’t not accept the app request to share location this message displays. The problem here is that there is no clear ‘call to action’ how to recover from this error. There should be a link to help users enable location services for this app.

Without asking your permission, Facebook started to share your personal information with external websites such as Bing, Clicker, Rotten Tomatoes, Docs.com, Pandora, Yelp and Scribd.
This feature is called ‘Instant Personalization’ and was introduced in April 2010. Facebook argues that they want to give you ‘a great social and personalized experience’ when visiting these external websites but they don’t ask for your permission to do this.

Instant Personalization is enabled by default and this is why Facebook is being criticized by many other website and blogs.
When you go to non Facebook websites, you don’t expect them to know who are your friends. The same issue exists when websites decide to adopt the Facebook comments box which shows your image if you are logged in to Facebook.

Charles Schumer, Michael Bennet, Mark Begich and Al Franken are US Senators who decided to write a letter to Mark Zuckerberg to express their concerns about users being automatically opt-in to share their information. Apart from Instant Personalization, they were also worried about Facebook not being able to enforce the 24 hours time limit given to advertisers to view user information.

It is not the first time that Facebook raises privacy concerns and a recommendation it might be smart to visit your privacy settings every now and then to check if anything new manage to sneak away from your awareness. Facebook makes it extremely difficult to change this and as you can see below it takes five steps to disable this feature.

If you want to disable Instant Personalization follow these steps:
1. Go to Account>Privacy Settings
2. On the bottom of the screen, go to Applications and Websites and click on ‘edit your settings’
3. Go to Instant Personalization and click on ‘edit settings’
4. Close the popup window ‘Understanding Instant Personalization’
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and untick the box next to ‘Enable instant personalization on partner websites’.

You can also see a video describing how to do this here.

You can mix and match whatever you like and have it with rice or couscous. Getting your food might take slightly longer than you would expect as after selecting your dish you can decide to pass it on to the person in charge of warming it up in the microwave…Overall this curry is a great value for your money but beware, some of the dishes are quite spicy!
This shop seems quite entrepreneurial as they experiment with selling various products such as Far East sculptures.
Next to the counter, some the finest baristas will make you a cup of a strong and beautifully crafted coffee. The coffee machine is quite impressive by itself and somehow resemble a Rolls-Royce…
The baristas are very friendly and when it is not too crowded will be happy to explain about what makes a good coffee and why do you need Microfoam to create latte art. The clothes are very expensive- a pair of shoes can buy you 120 cups of coffee…
For around £6 you can choose from a range of five hot lunch options (including vegetarian) to take away in a box. The coffee is good too and made properly most of the time. The staff are usually pretty busy so if you are looking for a chat this might not be the place but if you are hungry and looking for good and inspiring food, give it a try.

I was there with a group of friends and our experience was fantastic. My complements to our host who was simply amazing. She made us feel welcome and helped us choose what to eat. The food is served on top of a flat sour bread. You then get some extra rolled bread to grab the food with. It is a very nice way to share food with friends unless they are very greedy… You can easily avoid the Italian dessert. Italy has colonized Eritrea in 1935, that is the connection.

It is always full of people, both local and visitors. The wine list is quite impressive and probably the main attraction of this place. The food is worth mentioning and as you can see in the picture the breakfast they serve is excellent as well as the coffee. The deco is really interesting and full of old pictures and antique items. The staff is very friendly and their presence is pleasant. They won’t push you to order more like in many other places. It is becoming more difficult to find such charming places today when we are surrounded by the big chains which represent the opposite term of authentic. Harry Gill, the owner of the place seems to be a savy wine investor according to an article in the Financial times…
The price for the application is £0.59 which includes a free San Francisco guide. The price for the Lonely Planet iPhone guide is £8.99 comparing with the price of the book at Amazon UK which is £6.49… The clear advantage of the iPhone version is the ability to pin point your location and show you relevant nearby points of interest. It is also worth mentioning that the city maps are stored locally on the phone which means that users do not have to worry about roaming charges when taking the guide abroad. Is it still probably easier to read about the history of a place by reading the book rather than on screen which seems as the main weakness of this guide. The majority of the content is arranged in a traditional chapter format and is not affected by your location which is disappointing. It is a definitely great tool when you are looking for the nearest place for live music. Places can be added as favorites which is useful. One clear missing feature is sorting places by opening hours. If you are looking to visit a museum on a day when it is closed, the guide should allow you to filter this out.

Getting there was quite an adventure; you have to go inside a doggy lift with a large ‘heaven’ sticker on one of the walls. The lift only goes to the 6th floor from where you have to walk up the ramp to the 7th floor where the exhibition begins.
Until 30th September.
