			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most companies in India end their financial year in March and yet again its appraisal time. Since 2009, due to economic recession the appraisal cycle has reached its all-time low. Based on internet research and my own experience in dealing with fortune 500 clients in India i can conclude that this year is going to be no different.  It’s going to be considerably better than what it was in the middle of recession but it doesn’t appear to get back to old levels. The main reason being overall slump in the market globally and more so specifically in India. </p>
<p>India Inc is faced with difficult economic conditions and pressure of higher cost of operation is leading to lower profits coupled with delayed sale cycle is making it increasingly difficult to provide higher appraisal percentage in the year 2012.<br />
A recent article on economic time suggested that the salary appraisal number in the year 2012 will be in tune with last year and could range between 10%-15%</p>

<li>Creating Public profile:  The HR department and marketing department needs to take adequate care while creating public profile so as to maintain consistency across online platforms. Important thing here is to ensure you choose right tag line that helps you entice candidates</li>
<li>Sharing the page: the next step is to promote the page, the idea is to first develop an interactive page as per your online recruiting strategy and only then exercise this option. As promoting the page will share the page with all your connections and a blank or half completed page will not give good impression and will surely not achieve ultimate objective of the page being added in your prospective candidates circle.</li>

A country’s progress largely depends on its financial backbone and it’s really heartening to see that banks will now officially accept UID as a valid address proof.  In today’s <a href="http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Default/Client.asp?Daily=TOIM&amp;showST=true&amp;login=default&amp;pub=TOI&amp;Enter=true&amp;Skin=TOINEW&amp;AW=1317372417042">times of India</a> it has also been said by UIDAI chief Nandan Nielkani that Aadhaar card is a valid KYC – know your customer document and this will enable financial institutions to further assess the background of individuals and help them serve better.</p>
<p>Even the telecom and petroleum ministry also consider Aadhaar as a valid KYC norm for issue of SIM cards and cooking gas connections.</p>
<p>I urge everyone to apply for the card if not already applied as the faster we all are on the system the better is it for all of us. <p><strong>Aadhar UID project touches one crore applications</strong></p>
<p>In just nine months since the launch of the Aadhaar project in Maharashtra, UIDAI has issued one crore Aadhaar numbers. 52 year old, NK Chheda from Maharashtra has the distinction of being the resident whose Aadhaar number was generated on reaching this milestone. Coincidentally, the first resident to get the Aadhaar number, Ranjana Sonawane, is also a resident of Maharashtra. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have recently installed a CNG conversion kit in my car and now it can run on petrol and gas both. Finally after a lot of research online and offline i have made this decision and it really makes me happy for two reasons:</p>

<li>It’s going to save me a lot of money as they say money saved is money earned</li>
<li>I am going to contribute in a small way by not polluting the environment hence helping reduce global warming ;-)</li>
</ul>
<p>I am writing this article for people to get accurate information and not spend time searching the internet just as i did. As there are not many source of authentic information for CNG or LPG conversion kits in India.</p>
<p><strong>Overview of gas conversion kits in India</strong></p>
<p>There are quite a few gas conversion kits available in the market most of these kits are either imported from Italy and Argentina and rest are made locally here in India.  Install only government approved CNG kits in your car. As when your car will be sent for RTO registration they will verify the status of the CNG kit manufacturer. There are two types of kits one with sequential system and other is lambad system.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last few months have been very critical in the context of Indian History. With super humans like Anna Hazare selflessly fighting against corruption history is bound to be written.</p>
<p>With Gandhi like avatar and ideologies Anna Hazare is bound to get public support and undoubtedly going to win the fight against the government.  It’s amazing to see how the entire nation gets behind one individual and accepts him as their leader. As i write this article million of Indians are gathering to stage a fight against corruption.</p>
<p>I have yet to meet someone who does not support Anna Hazare in his movement to curb corruption as it is the single largest issue obstructing India’s progress. There is corruption in entire world at one level of the other but in India is rampant and its present at all levels.</p>
<p>Citizen of India need to be careful at this stage as there might be a lot of political parties, corporates and individuals with maligned interest and would like to take advantage of this situation and redirect our efforts to benefit their vested interest.</p>
<p>Before we blindly support our leader we should be clear of our objectives and know more about our leader.  Most people I met knew very little about Anna Hazare and his team and also knew very little about lokpal bill.</p>

<p>I would like to thank <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/author/nicholas-carlson">Nicholas Carlson</a> as I am sharing his article for the benefit of my readers (especially fresh graduates aspiring to do something big in life)</p>
<p>Two years ago, a Stanford business school student named Tristan Walker sent <a href="http://www.foursquare.com/">Foursquare</a> cofounders Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai an email out of the blue, asking for a job.</p>
<p>Today, Tristan is Foursquare&#8217;s director of business development.  During his tenure, he&#8217;s built partnerships between Foursquare and huge brands such as Bravo, MTV, CNN, New York Times, NBA and Starbucks.</p>
<p>To celebrate the two year anniversary of the email, <a href="http://justtristan.com/post/7696394458/two-years-ago-today">Tristan just published it on his personal blog, along with some notes</a>:</p>

<p>Today marks two years since i sent my very first email to Dennis and Naveen (wow i was such a nerd! ha). Naveen sent a reminder to team foursquare today and i thought i’d share it on my blog. Man, how times have changed:</p>

<p><strong>Hey Dennis and Naveen,</strong></p>
<p>How’s it going? Hope all is well!  My name is Tristan Walker and Im a first year student (going into my second year) at Stanford Business School (originally from New York).</p>
<p>I m a huge fan of what you both have built and excited about what you  guys have planned for FourSquare. It is an awesome , awesome service.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I would love to chat with you guys at some point, if you’re available, about FourSquare. This year, I’m looking to help out and work  extremely hard for a startup with guys I can learn a ton from. Dennis,  with your experience at Google and the Dodgeball product, and Naveen, with your experience at Sun and engineering in general, I know I could  learn a great deal from you both!</p>
<p>Before business school, I was an oil trader on Wall Street for about two years and hated it! Moved out to the Bay/Stanford to pursue my passion for entrepreneurship and the startup world. This past spring I had the opportunity to work for Twitter as an intern and learned a  ton. Solidified my commitment to working at a startup that I’m passionate about, and FourSquare is one of those startups that I believe in.</p>

<p>A few things to note here:</p>

<li>I spelled foursquare “FourSquare”…capital F and capital S….TWICE! (so taboo these days) ha. Talk about green…and who says “stay awesome!” (hilarity!)</li>
<li>I sent this email after really thinking hard about this post from Jenn Van Grove at Mashable (thx jenn!). After reading, i IMMEDIATELY started to think about the potential for merchants and brands to start interacting with customers in ways that have never been done before. I read that post in May of that year I believe and signed up that same day</li>
<li>After my using foursquare every day for about two months I knew i had to work for the company. On July 16th i scoured the internets, found Dennis and Naveen’s emails (#crazytristan) and shot them an email right away. This was before they even had @foursquare.com email addresses (and well before our series A round).</li>
<li>This is the first of 8 emails i sent Dennis/Naveen. They both must have thought I was crazy. On the 8th email Dennis replied</li>

<p>“you know what, i just may take you up on some of this, are you ever in nyc?”</p>

<p>You could tell he was a bit annoyed (sorry dennis! oh well…ha) I thought on it for a little bit, and replied back (something along the lines of…):</p>
<p>hey dennis, yeh I was planning on being in ny tomorrow [i was in LA at the time!…and no, i definitely had zero plans to be in NYC] how about we meet up live at your offices?</p>

<p>then i booked my flight that night, flew out the following morning, hung out with him and naveen for a week and one month later I was full time at good ol foursquare.</p>
<p>which brings me to the last point. a lot of folks ask me how Ive been able to secure some pretty cool spots at awesome companies and my answer is always the same. “be so enamored with the product that you would work for the company even if they didnt hire you….more importantly find where the needs are within the organization and be willing to do whatever it takes to help them fill the need (work for free even!)…and MOST importantly make sure that youre filling a need that the organization doesnt have the resources to fill on its own. If a company is not willing to let a hungry, passionate, smart, unpaid advocate of the product help the organization to fill that need (when it doesnt have the resources to do it itself) then you probably shouldnt be working at the company anyway. They’re just being arrogant”…Dennis and Naveen made pretty clear that their passion was with product (and theyre the best in the world at it). I knew i could help them (without much guidance and hand holding) to think through the business opportunities / potential for foursquare. And i did it for free (for 30 days at least :)). I gained their trust, which was most important.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The past two years for me have been nothing short of amazing. Dennis/Naveen didnt have to but they gave me a shot and really did change my life. I owe those guys a ton and im truly appreciative of it all. Now, back to work…. :)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Generally I write about things that I experience on the professional front.  This time around I am writing something I have been experiencing a nagging issue (Itunes stuck at syncing contacts or calendars) on my iphone and thought would use this medium to help fellow iphone users overcome the issue.</p>
<p>I have been using iphone 3GS for couple of years now and have been actively involved in the jail breaking community.  Have been upgrading and tweaking my iphone for all sort of different things.  After an upgrade on 4.2.1 using Sn0wbreeze or Redsn0w I found three very common issues</p>
<ul>
<li>Iphone stuck at synching contacts or calendars</li>
<li>Battery drain</li>
<li>Multi-tasking not working well</li>
</ul>
<p>I will help you decode the first issue for the other two you can use SAM preferences and I am sure (on 3gs) it will surely solve the battery drain and multi-tasking issue.  Details click here http://www.bingner.com/SAM.html</p>
<p><strong>FOLLOWING IS ONLY FOR JAILBROKEN IPHONE STUCK AT SYNCING CONTACTS OR CALENDARS WITH OUTLOOK</strong></p>
<p>The idea is to do simple things first and try and arrive at root cause of the problem it’s not a one stop solution. Please backup iphone using itunes before you start.</p>
<p>Step 1: Try and sync your iphone with some other computer</p>
<p>Step 2: Uninstall Mobile Me if you installed it along with itunes</p>
<p>Step 3: Step 3: Reset Sync History &#8211; <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692">Process</a></p>
<p>Step 4: Install latest version of <a href="http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/">itunes</a> and try again. Strictly follow <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925">this process</a></p>
<p>Step 5: Create a new user on your operating system and then try synching itunes</p>
<p>Step 6: Disable third party login in outlook -<a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692"> Process</a></p>
<p>Step 7: I know it tedious but try all of the above on another operating system</p>
<p>Step 8: Take a backup of your .pst files – meaning just copy them and keep in another location</p>
<p>Step 9: Run Scanpst.exe and fix all pst files and then run the sync &#8211; <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497">Process</a></p>
<p>Step 10: Create a new pst file and make it as default and try syncing  - <a href="http://computeradvisors.net/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-new-pst-file-in-microsoft-outlook-2010/">Process</a></p>
<p>Step 11: unfortunately if all of the above doesn’t work then there is no option but to redo the jail breaking process.  Use <a href="http://www.redmondpie.com/">redmondpie.com </a> as a genuine source of information for jailbreaking.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I haven’t been  able to blog since last 5 months.  Though my passion  for writing and  sharing my opinions were still the same it’s just that I  wasn’t finding  enough time to blog.  Why am I writing this?  I could  have just  started writing  and things would go back to normal but at the  same  time a thought crossed my mind that there would be a lot of people  like  me who want to blog but had to stop blogging due to one or the  other  constraint.</p>
<p>In such cases we would think about a lot of stuff like: <a href="http://www.gigathoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/restart_your_blog.jpg"><img class="alignright" title="restart_your_blog" src="http://www.gigathoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/restart_your_blog.jpg" alt="restart your blog Blogging after a break – The restart of my blog" width="116" height="115" /></a></p>
<ul>
<li>Is it really worth starting a dead blog</li>
<li>What happens to my SEO</li>
<li>What happens to my Google indexing</li>
<li>My audiences would have stopped waiting to read my post</li>
</ul>
<p>Many such things crop up in our mind and we starting thinking towards   starting a new one or just leave this one behind.   Let me tell you,   it’s a bad idea to leave this one and let your effort go down the drain.</p>
<p>First and foremost, it’s your blog – your perception your views about   topics that you write about and the points mentioned above really   doesn’t matter.  This would matter only if you are a PRO Blogger but if   you were then you would never land up in this state.</p>

<p>Restarting to blog is more about mindset than anything else. Most   people think of having changes in design or functionality some might   improve interactivity of the blog and the other would improve / include   social media aspect of the blog. Each one of us is trying to give a   reason to the world that why you were absent for this long and why are   you starting all over again.</p>
<p><strong>Bottom Line when starting to blog after a gap:</strong></p>
<p>You aren’t starting to write because people want you to write, you   are because you are passionate about sharing your perception with the   world.</p>
<p>I have approached the whole thing with this mind set and everything has worked out well.</p>
<p>Few things I did before I re-started</p>
<ul>
<li>Promised myself that I will post at least once every 15 days</li>
<li>Informed my personal network to watch out for my blog again</li>
<li>Used social media to spread message so that people can be aware that I am starting again</li>
</ul>
