As of yesterday, I am once again unemployed. I didn’t quit my job because i hated it, or because i hated the people because I LOVED working there, and i loved the coworkers.

I quit because im flying home, at long last! My man got offered a job back in our hometown so we’re going back in a couple of weeks. I don’t know if we’ll ever venture out of our little town again (i mean to live somewhere else) and i secretly hope we don’t.

I love our tiny community. everyone knows each other, and while it is a isolated community (fly-in only) it isn’t so isolated because everyone knows everyone else.

It’s going to suck having to pay more for food though. Food in thunder bay is cheaper then it is back home since things back home are priced higher to help offset the freight charges.

I probably wont have or even need a job over there so I’m going to work on my websites more often. I havent been that serious about them but now I’m going to focus on making them at least a bit profitable. I’d be happy if my websites were able to at least able to pay their own hosting.

Apparently the lead singer/songwriter Sebastian Roth teamed up with one of the guitarists from the band to recreate it. They've got a new sound but it is still Sin With Sebastian! They have their very own website where you can also purchase their ONLINE album! Their new "sound" is awesome!

If this band can come back after 10 YEARS then so can some of the other bands i loved from the 80's and 90's. Now to wait, petition and find out which bands still have live members.

Well, after all the excitement on Saturday, my little baby got taken away from me. I suffered a miscarriage last night and it hurts like hell.

I am dealing with it best as I can but I wish my husband was here. I wish he hadn’t taken that out of town job. At leats he’ll be back in a few days. We’re going to try again after this pain and greif pass. One good thing is that we always thought we were infertile, but this shows we weren’t. Just slow.

I hope I dont have to wait two years to conceive again and I hope to God that a miscarriage doesn’t happen again.

Last week, my “monthlies” didn’t come as expected but I ignored it since I had just started a new job. After all, stress can delay a period. A week went by, I knew I wasn’t stressed but I figured, “Huh, has happened before and the pregnancy test was negative.”

On Saturday, which was yesterday, I remembered that I hadn’t paid my rent yet. I called around and found out that the closest Shopper’s Drug Mart had a post office in it that was open on weekends. I decided to down and get the money order made, listened to my music while walking along the street. Said Good Morning to a few strangers just because I felt content with the way the day was going.

I reached my destination, purchased my money order and walked by the home pregnancy test aisle. I decided that I should buy one to check if that was why my period was missing. I bought one and went walking home, I walked down the street and got offered a ride by an old man. He made me feel creepy so I declined and kept walking. I walked by the future City Hall building, where I got hit on by the construction workers (How cliche of them, BTW) and continued my journey.

I came into my apartment, locked the door, put the money order into a safe place so that i could deliver it on Monday. I waltzed into the washroom, read the instructions just so I wouldn’t fuck up. Sat down, pissed on the stick, capped the stick, and went to go get my cigarettes. After finding my cigarette and lighter, I came into the bathroom, put the cigarette into my mouth, picked up the test and spit out the cigarette because the test said “Pregnant”

My man wasn’t home and I had no way to reach him but I needed to tell someone. So I called my Grandma, who is legally my mother, and told her the news. She was half asleep but she was WIDE awake pretty quick! After the call, I spent hours waiting for my man to get home from work and when 7PM rolled around, I heard him coming up the steps, and knocking. I unlocked the door and practically assaulted him with the piss stick.

He stared at it for awhile, until he saw that it said Pregnant. After which, he did a lot of babbling, smiling and hugging but not before nearly falling down the stairs.

So yesterday was a hectic day for me, and I imagine that the next 8+ months will be hectic as well.

I don’t imagine that anyone really gives a shit, but its my blog, and I wanted to share the news with people who happen to give a shit.

So now, I have quit smoking, as well as drinking pepsi & coke. They say drinking pepsi&coke is fine if done in moderation but I have no clue what that means.

It takes a lot to drive me up a wall, but there are at least 5 things that do. The hard thing is that some of the things are stuff that I find adorable! So it makes it very hard to be mad for too long.

When my cat wakes me up at 4 AM. My kitten insists on waking me up at odd intervals at night. It is even tougher because I sleep on a matress on the floor so she always has access to my face. She’ll meow in my ear, lick my face, and bump her cute furry head into mine. It gets me cranky but her loud purrs take the edge off. I wouldn’t be so annoyed if it was because she needed something but when I get up to check, her food bowl is full, her water bowl is full, and her litter box is clean!

When my cat goes nuts for no apparent reason. My cat has a crazy session every evening where she will run around, and jump on everything. Which sucks because I usually wear shorts in the evenings and she’ll jump on my leg which results in her claws sinking into my flesh. I don’t believe in declawing, but her appointment at the grooming center keeps getting postponed! I bought softclaws but I need to wait until she gets her nails trimmed.

When my boyfriend insists on eating dairy products even though he is lactose-intolerant! One word: P.U!

When people talk while other people are giving a presentation or anything similar. In college, people would always be yakking while a group/person was trying to give a presentation or ask the professor a question. I find it disrespectful and it drives me nuts! I have also experienced this at work, during the training sessions.

The long wait when contacting customer service by phone! I especially hate it when it makes you go through hoops to contact someone and in the end you only had to press 0! Say it on the first menu, for pete’s sake!

I was thinking of going with the income breakdown of “Save 10%, Use 20% for debt payments, Live on 70%” guideline that I found while purusing the Internet. (I can’t remember which site it was)

My debt is currently over $900, but has manageable payments so 20% of my monthly income would suit that fine. Does anyone have a better way to save?

I am looking to have a home by the next year or two, but I am worried that the housing prices will increase again. Currently, houses in our area start at $43000 and are pretty decent starter homes.

I wish there was some type of funding available for off-reserve first nations people to buy a house. I know there’s a down payment assistance program out there but I would hate to run up more debt.

I was reading a few blogs and one blog made me remember a distant memory. (By the way, check out The Junk Drawer aka the newest addition to my google reader–woot!)

Anyways, I don’t have much pleasant memories of my childhood and youth due to reasons that I don’t feel like divulging right now. So, the great memories of my childhood and youth are very precious to me and I thought I would share my top five sweetest memories. (I have more, but only after I was adopted by my grandmother.) Please be aware that some of these memories may not be sweet but they were to me in their own unique way.

Sharing a room with my auntie who was a teenager when i was about 6 or 7 years old. It was awesome hearing her crawl in and out of the window. I especially loved getting threatened with bodily harm should I say anything. I may be exaggerating due to my age and mind capacity at the time but hey its what I remember. Ha!

The family pets-they were all the sweetest things in the world when they weren’t barking their heads off or humping you. I remember seeing one of the younger dogs being banged by my biological moms father when I was 8. I also loved the two family cats who have both since died. My cousin T got a kitten when she was 2 years old and named him after the fox in Fox and The Hound. This cat was awesome! I cried when we couldn’t find him after the entire family had gone on vacation. We also had a cat that was named after the dog in Fox and The Hound. My sweetest memories involve the pets, who have all since died so it’s too sad to think about right now, so moving on!

The time when my entire reservation (oh yeah-I’m Native American/First Nations/Whatever you call us) was convinced that Pokemon and Teletubbies were sent by the devil and burned everything connected to them. It all started because someone was burning their garbage, (as it is done on reserves since we have no other way to “mulch” the trash), and a blue light came from the teletubby doll that was in the trash. Ha, me and my cousins stashed some of the toys because it would have been hell to deal with their bitching and crying.

Watching North of 60, the best damn show that was ever on CBC. I always watched it with my grandma/legal mother and we loved the time spent together since she was always busy working, and I was always busy being a little snot. Watching it as an adult, I realize that I never grasped on what a corrupt place Lynx River was. Albert FTW!

Not being allowed to skip a class because the teacher had a personal vendetta against me. Even my legal mother agreed with me about that. Apparently this teacher didn’t like kids who cried a lot even if they have a MEDICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL reason. Things turned against her though when I would answer every damn question correctly and passed the class with the highest grade. Ha! Wait, that wasn’t much of a revenge was it? Whatever. That class ended up my favorite because that’s where I first befriended my first best friend.

Anyways, as you can see some bitter memories can actually be sweet memories if you dig into the big picture into the little pictures.

What are some of your best memories?

Oh, BTW if you’re interested in learning more about what caused my psychological problems or about how life actually IS on a First Nations reserve (has ups and downs) then please let me know in the comments section or contact page.

And also, for people who don’t know what the hell I am talking about when I say North of 60 or Albert FTW, check back here later. I will be installing some type of “footnotes” plugin a la Faboulously Jinxed.

After much heartache and job searching, I finally landed a job!

It provides decent pay, $9.5/hr for the first 3 months and then it goes up to 10$/hr. Enough for my lifestyle anyway, although the pizzas are gonna have to be homemade instead of being delivered by Boston Pizza.

I will be in extensive classroom training for the first few weeks so that I can learn about the company client’s products and services. After that, I will be attending on the floor training for another few weeks. It’s paid training so I’m looking forward to it.

I start on May 26th so until then I only have $175 worth of grocery food. (Rest of the cash goes to my rent.)

I will be a StarTek employee working in a call center. Sounds dull and yucky but it is actually pretty great. Aside from the great pay, the company is involved in a lot of community stuff.

I am so glad that the TBay branch of StarTek is different from the horror stories that I hear from US employees. Besides, one of my friends works there so if it turns out to be horrible then at least I have company!

My boyfriend and I were sitting down, watching some television after a hard day of sleeping, pooping, scratching, and petting the cat (weekends suck for us) when all of a sudden we were bombarded with SquarePants.

Apparently, kids like Spongebob with a little sex appeal. At least, thats the vibe that I got from the stupid commercial. What the hell were the marketers at Burger King thinking??? Isn’t this the type of ad that would have mobs of angry parents complaining? I know I have a thing or two to say and I don’t even have a kid!

It would be fine if it was just good ol’ SpongeBob in the advertisement, although the little yellow dude creeps me out, but they just had to have girls shaking their square booties.

Don’t get me wrong, I find it a bit amusing but I don’t think it is suitable for something targetting towards kids.
