An entrepreneur shows that marketing of content offers a great business opportunity to create a connection with consumers.

Shauna Mei, founder of AHALife said at the American Express Open Forum that his business has grown 600% in the last year due to its focus on the use of content to transmit her company's history.

Mei began documenting the history of your business and the history of individual products sold in his shop, through images and text on her company blog. She explains that doing this makes people more likely to make purchases.

In addition to posting to the blog site, Mei recognizes the value of the distribution of this content through social media. "We received emails and tweets saying that they like the stories of our products, and then see how it are shared through social networks."

Content sharing has helped to spread the word about the brand and Mei have seen that the company has grown 600% this year.

A recent report by Custom Content Council, noted that 75% of consumers prefer to receive information from the marks on content rather than traditional ads, and furthermore, 75% also say they feel good that a company would try to sell something when offered in the form of valuable content.

Marketing content is becoming a fundamental pillar of Social Media Marketing strategies.

How to Put a Chat in your Blog

Most users have a Google account, which allows you to use Google Talk, Google's messenger, and thanks to this we can now add a widget to our blog so our users can exchange messages with us.

The important thing about this widget is that only you need a Google Account to insert the widget, your users don't need an account.

We can chat with multiple people simultaneously, having a tab for each conversation and offering the chance to show our state for our users know if we're available or not.

Problems With 1&1, the Worst Company

As you know, a few days ago I bought a hosting on HostGator (I'm very happy with them) with the money I made doing simple work on MinuteWorkers.

Then I bought a domain name on 1&1 because their prices were very cheap and seemed a respectable company. As the result has been the opposite.

1&1 is the worst company I have ever met.

It took 2 days to register my user and another 3 more days to register the domain name.

When the domain name was active, I changed the DNS and put the HostGator DNS.

Well, it has spent over a month and they still have not changed the DNS. They don't have support chat, I've written many times to their support and they always say the same: "Our administration department is working on your case".

Doesn't matter if you ask them a thousand questions, always the same email sent to you automatically.

I don't know when I'll be able to use my domain name so I had no choice but to buy another domain name on another registrar.

I chose NameCheap and it's the best I've done.

In just 5 minutes I bought the domain name and they activated it. When you buy the domain name you can set up DNS so when the domain name is registered, already has the DNS that you want and not have to change it. It's something that with 1&1 you can't do.

The DNS took 10 minutes to propagate so in just 15 minutes I could use the domain.

I contacted their support through chat to see how they are, and immediately they resolved my questions.

In addition, all months they have discount coupons.

If NameCheap can do it in just 15 minutes... what the hell does 1&1?

If you have to buy a domain name I highly recommend to NameCheap and please, avoid 1&1.

Google Adsense is a good advertising system for your blog or website if you wish to make money with advertising, it provides everything you need to place ads.

But not everyone is able to squeeze the full potential of Adsense. Earn money with Adsense is possible, but like everything in life requires effort.

So, How to improve Adsense on my blog?
Will I expect to live every month from Adsense?

Starting with Adsense

If you don't have an account, you have to create it, but you can start from a Google account already created. Enter Google Adsense requires to be accepted they tend to be strict to avoid people already banned in the system.

Many bloggers often say "why not tell a friend to click on my ads? nobody will know" and that has become the main reason for being banned from Adsense from night to morning without explanation. Don't try to fool Google.

Putting Adsense

You must think about who will see your ads: All visitors of your blog? Or just those who arrive from search engines?

First you must know a few words:

- Impressions are the times that an ad is shown loading a page. If you always show Adsense, each page load will be a print.

- CTR is "Click-through rate", ie the number of impressions divided by the number of clicks. If the ad has been shown 10 times and only 1 user has clicked on the ad will have a CTR of 10%.

- CPC is cost per click, the price an advertiser pays each time someone clicks on the ad. The best positions are for the advertiser that pay more in the Google search results.

- The CPM is another metric used to indicate cost per thousand impressions.

Note that Adsense can become annoying for the visitors of your blog, so try to integrate it in your content with the best possible way.

How to optimize advertising for your blog

Here are some tips:

- If you put an ad inside an article, use the format 300 × 250 combined with text.

- Use the area of highest attention by users (usually the top), examines how they navigate your site, investigate the EyeTracking and use tools of usability.

- Combine different styles and formats.

- Visitors through search engines usually have a better CTR than your usual audience for one simple reason: they don't know where are the ads on your site.

- If more than 80% of traffic comes from search engines, use an ad in the header, because if they don't find what they are looking for on your site, they are likely to click on the advertising.

- Try more services like Adsense for searches.

Where to put Adsense?

Probloger.net has a post where they make several tests and see which works best for Adsense.

Small details often get great results.

Which ads work best?

Ads formats that offer better performance are:

336 × 280 Large rectangle

300 × 250 Medium Rectangle

160 × 600 Wide Skyscraper

Why? Probably the traditional banner formats like 728 × 90 and 468 × 60 are immediately recognized as advertising and so ignored.

In conclusion, you can make an interesting amount of money with AdSense if you know well how to use it.

You also need traffic. The more traffic your site has, the more money you win.

How to Get More Friends on Facebook

The other day I write an article about how to get more Twitter followers. Today I will write about Facebook.

Many people want to have lots of friends on facebook.

This will take you to be more popular and will help you to publicize your blog, company or products. Every time you post something on Facebook, your content will appear in the updates of each profile that is already your friend and their friends will see it. So it's important to have many friends in Facebook, the more you have more people will see your posts.

But isn't good having thousands of friends if most don't like your posts or don't speak your language. The key to success on Facebook is to have many friends but are directly related to your niche.

So here are 5 tips:

1 - Add Friends: Add friends at every opportunity you can. Give you a daily goal of 10 / 20 friends added (remember that Facebook can block or delete your account for look like spammer, so only add 10 or 20 each day) Write on the wall of your friends, comment photos and video. Build an authentic relationship. Send interesting newsletters and always accept the recommended friends.

2 - Use the buttons and widgets: Use the Facebook widgets in your blog for people to be added, becomes a fan and recommend you.

3 - Join to Facebook groups: Join into several groups facebook may be convenient to appear everywhere and share content and get more friends.

4 - Create a group in Facebook: Create a group in facebook is a great opportunity to be noted that there are present. If you have an interesting niche surely many people will join the group.

5 - Post comments on popular profiles: Search profiles with thousands of friends and post on their walls interesting content, so all their friends can see it. This is another good way to get more friends.

The traffic that comes from Google has raised again an 5%. It's really good. I want that the traffic from Search Engines get higher that the traffic from Referring Sites becouse I don't need to do an extra work for the search engines. For the traffic from Referring Sites I need to do quality backlinks and more.

How to Get More Followers on Twitter

Every day more people use Twitter to make himself known, but to achieve this goal we must have a lot of followers.

With many followers you can promote your blog, your products and any things you want. With this you can get more visitors to your blog or web site and more sales.

Here are 6 tips to get more followers on twitter:

1 - Choose a nice profile picture, preferably one where you're smiling. Don't use any logo, just your face. Then type in the information section something that identifies you and captures the attention of other users.

5 - Follow people who tweet about topics that interest you. Also follow users who follow these people. Thus, you get more followers. The next step is to engage in conversations with others, respond and retweet to their messages.

6 - Make marketing of your Twitter profile. Put your tweets on facebook and your blog or web site and ask your readers to follow you on Twitter. Make surveys or contests to attract attention. If you have a mailing list, send an email asking them to follow you on Twitter.

When put Advertising on your Blog?

When put advertising on my blog? It is a question I've seen many times on some forums and blogs.

There are different opinions about when is the best time to place advertising on our blog.

Here I show you what are the strategies used by bloggers to decide when to add advertising to their blogs:

- When you create the blog: Many bloggers have chosen to place advertising from the beginning. That is, once you create the blog. Regardless, the number of visits, articles and time of the site. This is what I did.

We must accustom readers to advertising. Because if you place advertising after creating the blog, many of our readers would complain and they wouldn't visit our blogs.

- Number of visits: We must have a minimum number of visits per day. The recommended number of daily visits varies considerably, there are some who recommend 80 visits and others who think we must have more than 500 visits per day. If we don't have that number of visits, we shouldn't put advertising on our blogs.

- Niche: Some base their decision on the niche. First we must verify if the blog's niche can be profitable or not. If the niche is profitable we place advertising.

- Number of articles: It's like the number of visits. Some recommend having at least 10 articles and others have thinks that at least 50 articles.

- Time of the blog: The time the blog has been active. Not be confused with the creation of the blog, if not rather from the creation of the first article. The recommendation is from 6 months through a year.

So we must wait at least 6 month to put advertising on our blogs.

There is no strategy better than another. Is a personal decision when to advertise in our blog.
