Beroposisi merupakan pilihan yang seakan-akan mau dihindari oleh partai-partai politik karena masyarakat Indonesia yang masih memandang kotor politik, oleh karenanya partai oposisi cenderung akan dianggap "hanya karena tidak diberi kesempatan". Padahal oposisi sangat diperlukan bagi kelanjutan bangsa dan negara, agar pemerintah tidak berlaku sewenang-wenang. Rencana koalisi beroposisi yang dibangun Golkar, PDIP, Hanura dan Gerindra adalah langkah maju dalam politik Indonesia, dengan catatan bahwa mereka akan konsisten mulai dari sekarang.

Megawati bukanlah satu-satunya penyandang nama Soekarno di belakang namanya. Namun kenyataannya, hanya Megawatilah yang saat ini dianggap sebagai representasi tokoh perjuangan Indonesia yang terkenal dengan gerakan marhaenismenya tersebut. Tapi nama besar Soekarno bukan jaminan bagi Megawati untuk mencapai RI1. Bahkan jika salah langkah, bukan tidak mustahil PDIP yang dipimpin Megawati akan terpuruk menjadi partai papan menengah atau mungkin saja lebih rendah dari itu.
