So you’ve decided this year you’re going to go the whole hog and not only decorate the inside of your house with Christmas decorations, but also the outside too. The only problem is whilst you’re well practised in how you want the house to look on the inside, you’re not so well practised in the art of displaying Christmas outdoor lights.

Well never fear because we’re here to help with our run down of five of the best Christmas light displays that you’re ever going to see!

1. The Amazing Grace Christmas Light House Display

Put together by Richard Holdman of Pleasant Grove, Utah, this is not only of the most colourful, yet sophisticated Christmas light displays you’re ever going to see, but also one of the cleverest because it also moves in time to music.. now you have to admit that’s pretty cool!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

2. Jingle Bell Rock

Going slightly more subtle with it’s display, this animated Christmas light display sees trees and house lights worth in perfect symmetry to ensure that Jingle Bell Rock is stuck in your head for at least the next four days.

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean Christmas

So we have to say we’re not too sure what Pirates of the Caribbean has to do with Christmas, but when it ends up creating a display like this we’re not going to complain!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

4. Sandstorm Lights For Riley Display

Produced to support the Riley Hospital for Children charity, this Christmas display has us worn out just watching it … quite how the speed of it doesn’t short out the whole of the neighbourhood we don’t know!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

5. Holdman’s Winter Wonderland

Created by the same super talented guy who produced our first pick, this Winter Wonderland goes on for an impressive 14 minutes long and definitely had us memorised. Don’t know about you, but we’re loving the curved lighting to the front of the display! Have to say though it’s probably not so enjoyable for the neighbours after the tenth time they do it of an evening!

If there’s one animal that we associate with Christmas it’s the reindeer. The faithful companions of Father Christmas without these guys we’d never get our gifts arriving on time on December 25th, so why not pay tribute to them this year by adding some reindeer Christmas lights to your display!

1. Clear LED Standing Ruldolph Reindeer

Guaranteed to not only get noticed by your neighbours, but also by the reindeers flying through the sky, this Christmas display is both attention grabbing and stylish and can be either ordered on it’s own or if you’re wanting to save some money on your display it can be ordered as part of a 3 for 2 from B&Q.

2. LED Fur Effect Standing Reindeer

If you’re looking for something that looks a bit more like a real reindeer then perhaps Festive Lights option is going to be more up your street. Available for £89.99, it’s not the cheapest reindeer display we’ve seen, but it definitely looks the business with it’s fur like fabric weaved around the frame. Add to that the subtle use of LED lights throughout and you’ve got something that wouldn’t look out of place standing in a Harrods Christmas display!

3. Grazing Moving Reindeer

If a stationary reindeer isn’t enough for you then you may well want to check out this little number from Argos. Designed to move as though he is grazing, this reindeer is slightly less subtle in terms of lighting (it uses rope lighting as opposed to LEDs) but let’s be honest if you’re after something that’s going to move you’re probably not wanting to go down the super subtle route anyway!

Oh and we should point out, he’s also something of a bargain as the mo having been reduced from £79.99 to £39.99 on the Argos website.

4. Large Outdoor Reindeer and Sleigh

Like the idea of having something that’s going to create a little more impact than these single reindeers so far? Well you’re definitely going to get that with this Reindeer and Sleigh display.

Made using rope lights, this outdoor Christmas lights display consists of a doe, stage and sleigh with it all being held together by a solid metal frame within. Designed with a 5cm cable between each element it also has the added bonus that you can adjust the positioning to suit what works best for you.

Available for £59.99 from Lucky Seven on the Amazon website.
