As I mentioned, I’m going to continue doing one lesson every month on the topic until, well, I don’t. So, here’s the first of the continuing course!

But before you watch it:
PLEASE fill out the survey for the class if you watched enough of it to have an opinion. Over 250 people watched the last lesson, but I only have 26 surveys! If you thought “someone else would do it”… They Didn’t!

It’s 10 questions, and is very important to help me justify to funders that the money they spent to support this class made a difference.

Please take the survey now at http://tinyurl.com/glcsurvey !

Today’s lesson is exciting for me, as this is a model I have developed for library gaming experiences. As you’ll see, we’ll be using this model to help organize the next portion of the class. This is my original research that has been submitted for publication. I would invite feedback on this model and tomorrow’s lesson over at ALA Connect. I have also written all this up in an article, which is in the peer-review process; once it’s completed that process, I’ll post it here.

Welcome to Week 2!

It’s “Tell Someone Monday”! What that means is that I’d like you to tell someone else about the course today. Think of everyone you know – there’s a person or a mailing list or a blog or somewhere that you could tell people about this free class. I’d love to have more interaction over in the discussion boards or more ratings and comments on the YouTube site, as that makes it a richer experience for all. The best URL to use is this blog – http://gamesinlibraries.org/course . Thanks for helping!

Today, I’m presenting the three major ways in which libraries interact with games. There are probably more, but most of the things I’m aware of fall into one of these three categories.
