This is Beth, a.k.a. kewl_jive, bringing you today’s gallery standouts. To those who celebrated Father’s Day yesterday, hope you all had a great day with your loved ones. We had lunch buffet at The Westin Hotel Tokyo and we enjoyed the good food. My kids prepared breakfast, cards and some crafts for their Papa and he was so happy. It was a beautiful memory for us. I always love clean and crisp designs. I remember I have layouts with lots of white space and monochromatic designs. I miss doing that. This layout is simply gorgeous with great pics and love the perspective plus the short journaling says it all. So sweet!

Amazing photo-less layout especially since it says all about Moms. I just have to agree with what she said here and I can totally relate although sometimes I get to expect more from my kids. This is just a great reminder to all the Moms. Great work on the page, love the lil flower on the Mom’s alpha. The stitches around and all the flowers she added here are just perfect. So fabulously done!

I thought I’d start with this lovely Dad inspired page seeing as it’s Father’s Day! Super set of fun photos here and wonderful use of colour – this kit could have been made for the photos!

I was really drawn to the nautical feel of this page with all the neutrals, the spots and stripes and that fun anchor paper! The little arrows with the sentiments add such a great touch of fun to the page, super composition too!

This just jumped out of the gallery at me! Super blending and brush work here, I find this so uplifting. If you click through to the original in the gallery you can read about casbury’s process in creating this page.

I have a bit of a soft spot for bubble photos and pages, especially ones as fun as this! Super use of the circular cut out shapes in the foreground paper and all the other circular elements to echo the bubble theme!

I hope to admit to a slight bias here, seeing as I was born in London and grew up in the home counties but this was another page that caught my eye in the gallery and called, “Pick me!”. I really like the contrast between the reds in the photos and the greens and blues of the background and the blending work here is fabulous – the more I look, the more details I find!

PL week 24 by mrphoto What a sweet PL page this is. I love all the pictures of the kids and isn’t the one with the daughter kissing dad adorable and see the little son splashing into the puddle! The green, orange and blue work so well together on this page, they contribute to a happy feel. I love the little notes the daughter wrote to dad. Great PL week!!

Colors by sbpoet as a colorlover I could not ignore this one. Wow, the colors jumped right into my face! You should read the little poem on the site this page was posted on, it’s sbpoets selfmade poem! You have me, with all the ‘messyness’, all the brushes and stamps and colors. Just adorable!!

‘Magination Birds by LeeAndra another very sweet page about the imaginairy feathered friends of the little girl. The rainbow title is just perfect for rare moments like these.The little stars add to the imaginairy feel of this moment, like it’s a moment in a fairy tale. Beautiful!!

Enjoy Life by Naadi Ohhhh, I LOVE this photo and the page Naadi made with it!! I love the B&W treatment and the one little red flower popping out between the papers. Also love the subtile stitch and totally love the different fonts used in the wordart. Gorgeous!!

Broncio by kyky although I can’t understand what is written, I’m completely in love with this page. Love the black and white with the colored picture and some brushes on the opposite side. It makes the page so much stronger and draws the attention to the funny picture of the son/grandson. Great page!!

Annalift by oldvwblues What a view oldvwblues created here. Love all the scribbles and the vintage and tranquile feel of the page. Great blending, wonderfully done!!

My first choice for you this evening is this very soft and subtle beauty by faby33 titled Boats. I really love how clean the overall design is! The masking and blending is absolutely superb! And the processing on the image is so expertly done! A real beauty for sure!

I about fell over when I happened upon this BRILLIANT artwork titled the road i took by misslovescraps. This is so jaw-dropping CREATIVE it’s stinking ridiculous! REEEE! DIK! U! LUS! And truly, I don’t know if the journaling is a poem of sorts or the artist’s own journaling but, it  is truly the cherry on top of a splendid work of art!

Really love the “split” design in my next choice by Lynne-Marie titled Renewal. The color palette here is nothing short of delicious! The colors seriously work extremely well together! I LOVE all the brushwork with the butterflies and that scallop border is right. up. my. alley!

My next choice titled OLB Flight Plan #22 by purlz76 is wholly fabulous with its more traditional and masculine feel! Really love the clustered design and the layering and her shadowing is nothing short of phenomenal!

Up next is a really lovely tribute for a dear Father titled My Dad by cfile. And truly, I’m having difficulty with my words after reading her journaling! So heartfelt and heartwarming! Beautiful, beautiful tribute!

Rounding out my choices this evening is this drop dead GORR! JUSS! art journaling page titled What Holds me Back by captivated visions. REALLY love the color palette here with all the neutrals and black! All the messy artsy! The brush work is simply DIVINE! And the message . . . “it’s not Who you are that holds you back it’s who you Think you’re not” . . . perfect. perfect. perfect. A truly gorgeous piece of art!

I am definitely a fan of a good Art Journaling page and I must confess that this is my fav page of the day…Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE all the other pages, but this is the kind of page where I say to myself “OMG”!
Not all pages are happy, this one is so real and honest and my heart aches at this page. We can feel her anger, her frustration and her sadness… and join her, in the cry. Nothing like that should happen to any child, this girl’s family has lost part of its soul…

This layout is also using the After The Storm charity collab. I think the photo is very appropriate with the sun shining through the clouds – the painted background accenting the photo really draws your eyes to the focus of the layout. Great title work and the use of the word art is very inspiring.

I know some of you are enjoying the vacation and some are still busy in school like me. I still couldn’t believe I’ll end up with a teaching career here in Tokyo but I am happy and grateful for my students and wonderful co-teachers. For those of you in the southern hemisphere, have a wonderful winter time. Now that we are feeling the heat, I wish I could trade it for a little of snow. hehehe

I love the subtle splashes of color blended into those fantastic black and white photos! Also love that some of the photos have frames others are masked and others have regular old frames. A very beautiful and artistic page that deserves a closer look so you don’t miss any of the more subtle details.

The awesome blended cluster of elements and fantastic combination of fonts immediately caught my attention. The nostalgic feel of the sepia colors in combination with the crisp white number 50 made me curious as to what this layout was about. I found myself reading a wonderful blurp of thoughts, memories and wishes. A real sneak peek in cherpea’s mind. Such great journaling and beautiful page! I sure hope you get your 50 days!

I just love the vibrant, warm colors of sunset against the cooler background color of the see. The waves at the bottom, the arrows in the paper plus the fabulous shadow work on the birds, elements and that piece of string gives the whole page such a great sense of movement. It’s like a soft summer breeze is blowing across the page and I can almost smell the salty air. LOVE this!
