We need young adults, students, young families and kids to be part of the Grace Baptist Church float at Anderson’s Independence Day Parade on July 3rd, an event that is expected to draw 10,000 people from our community. Everyone will receive a free LoveWorks t-shirt to wear. We will also give away church pens to the crowd. We will meet at the church at 6:30 pm. T-shirts will be distributed in the church foyer before and after the evening service on Wednesday and on Thursday beginning at 6:00 pm. The parade begins at 8:30 pm. At International Spy Academy, you’ll train to become special agents for the one true God who travel the world detecting counterfeits and teaching others to love and live for the one true God!

Grace Soccer League is an adult 5-versus-5 soccer league for ages 15 and up. Games will be held Sundays after the 6:00 worship service through August 3. Anyone interested in participating may come and register with a team of 5-7 players (2 substitutes allowed) or as an individual player to join a team.

Important Information:

• The registration fee is only $10.00, which includes a team t-shirt. Grace Soccer League is one of many family activities held during Summer Family Nights
• Players under 18 years of age need signed permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate (see activity release form)

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, we’ll be hosting the National Hoops 3 on 3 Tournament. The tournament includes round robin & double elimination games for Junior Varsity (ages 11-15) and Varsity (ages 16-19) teams. Each player from the winning teams will receive a championship medal and will have their picture posted on www.nationalhoops.com.

The JV MVP will receive a trophy and a National Hoops shirt.
The Varsity MVP will receive a trophy and a National Hoops shirt.
The Sportsmanship Winner will receive a trophy and National Hoops shirt.
*Players may play up into the next division, but may not play down.

We are excited to have a special guest speaker, Dr. John Whitcomb, as part of the Creation Expo lecture series on Sunday, April 17th at 6:00 pm. Admission is free to the public.

Dr. John C. Whitcomb has been a professor of Old Testament and theology for more than 50 years, and is widely recognized as a leading Biblical scholar. He taught at Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana, from 1951-1990, and gained much recognition for his work on The Genesis Flood (Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company), which he co-authored with Dr. Henry Morris in 1961. This book has been credited as one of the major catalysts for the modern Biblical creationism movement. Among Dr. Whitcomb’s other published works are The Early Earth and The World That Perished (Baker Book House), and commentaries on Esther and Daniel (Moody Press).

Additionally, he has authored six comprehensive Bible charts, numerous multi-media slides, and countless Biblical and theological articles. Major emphases in his teaching have been Biblical creationism, dispensational theology, premillennial eschatology, and presuppositional apologetics. Dr. Whitcomb’s life and ministry may be summed up in this quotation: “I want to be in the full-time business of finding out what God says and telling as many people as I can.” His website is whitcombministries.org.

Make plans to come to this conference with the Frazor Evangelistic Team March 16-21.  Not only will we enjoy dynamic preaching and music, but there are pre-service activities for the whole family Monday through Thursday.

This year’s Blast Rally is hosted by Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, IN. Every year, the three “Graces” (Grace Baptist in Muncie, Anderson, and New Castle) get together for a combined youth group all nighter. Featuring midnight bowling, an unlimited pizza buffet, concessions, and snow tubing at Valley’s Edge, this year’s G3 Blast Rally will be a great time of fun, food, and Christian fellowship.

The evening will start at 8pm at Grace in Muncie.

Tonight we will be having a Christmas Eve service in the main auditorium beginning at 6:00. The service will last just one house and feature special music and a special speaker. Come out and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with our church family.

We sat down with two members of our church, Luke Crockett and Julie Metzger, to hear testimony of how God worked in their lives through the death of loved ones. While trials are difficult and often painful, God is in control even in the midst of the trials working all things together for good for those who are believers (Romans 8:28).

Deacon Christmas Collection

Once again, the deacons will be collecting Christmas baskets of food for families in need. If you’re interested in helping, the deacon’s food barrel is located in the lobby for can or non-perishable food item donations. You may also donate a financial gift in the deacon box at the Welcome Center.

Secret Families Collection

Kids4Truth will  be collecting on Wednesday, December 4^th rolls of wrapping paper and Christmas lights to be donated to Secret Families of Madison County.  This is a local charity that provides a complete Christmas for a families in need.  If interested in donating, please see Amanda Huber or come by the church office.

This year during the Sunday evening service, December 15th, the church choir will be performing a Christmas Cantata.  The service starts at 6:00 pm and last approximately an hour and a half.  Come enjoy the free performance of the story of Christmas.

On Monday, November 25 at 6:00 pm, we will have our annual Thanksgiving Dinner in the gym, followed by a special Thanksgiving Celebration service in the main auditorium. Please contact the church for details on what sides to bring.

Jason and Stephanie Burrough will be collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

If you are interested, there will be a flyer with instructions and suggested gift items in the Welcome Center.

All shoeboxes must be turned in by Friday, November 22^nd.

This Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Anderson, IN, we honor want to those men and women who have served our country. This Sunday morning’s service will include patriotic music, a tribute to all veterans present, a military flag ceremony and a special dinner for all veterans and their families after the service.

Families and children are invited to the 5th annual Harvest Family Night at Grace Baptist Church on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 6:00 p.m.

Come to our safe indoor alternative to Halloween trick-or-treating.

Pastor Leigh Crockett’s visitation and funeral service were both at Grace Baptist Church 432 W, 300 N, Anderson, IN. The visitation was held Friday 4:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service was held Saturday 11:00 am. Dr. Bob Jones III presided. The graveside service was held at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. Dr. Bruce McAllister presided.

We are excited about the good financial report from last night’s Annual Business Meeting, including the significant budget growth for Indiana Christian Academy.

We’re also glad to announce the overwhelming election of all the church officers who were up for reelection. All were reaffirmed by at least a 99% vote.

Grace Youth Group will be attending the 3G Conference hosted by Burge Terrace Baptist Church in Indianapolis.  The 3G Conference will include a dodgeball tournament and messages on the theme “Show Me Your Glory.”  The cost of the conference is $10 plus money for concessions.  The youth group will leave the church at 7:30a and return at 5:30p.  For more information, please contact David Luttrull at david.luttrull@gracetoanderson.com.

Join us for evangelistic services with Brent Sivnksty October 6th at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm, then weeknights Monday through Wednesday at 7:00.

Tonight at 6:00 we will meet to grieve and pray for our brothers and sisters at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Yesterday their bus carrying teens returning home from camp crashed killing three and injuring dozens.

Pastor Josh Crockett will bring a message entitled, Our Shepherd’s Strong Arms, followed by a time of prayer for the Colonial Hills families.

On Saturday, July 20th, the students of the Grace youth group will enjoy a time of Canoeing and a Cookout at the end of the day. The students will meet at the church at 3:00 and head to Riverside Canoe Outfitters. After spending a couple hours on the White River, we’ll head out to the Lander’s home for a cookout. As the sun begins to go down, a game of capture the flag will begin in the woods. Parents should pick up their children at 9:00 at the Lander’s house (910 Heritage Lane). Riverside Canoe Outfitters has graciously provided the canoe trip for free. So, the students should just bring $4 for the meal. What: The GBC Classic is a competitive community tournament for men ages 16 and up.

When: July 13 from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Where: Indiana Christian Academy gym

Format: The morning round will begin at 9:00 a.m. as Round-robin format. There will be a 3-point shootout between rounds, and the tournament will continue in the afternoon with single-elimination play.

Prizes: Gift cards will be awarded to the winning team and to the 3-point shootout winner.

Registration: $5/person-includes lunch.

Calling all knights and maidens! We’re lowering the drawbridge and opening the gates to the castle! Grab your armor and prepare for fun at Vacation Bible School where you’ll learn to stand strong in the battle for truth!

Starting at 7:00 each Sunday night, the playground will be open for younger kids, the gym for older kids and the fellowship hall  for those who want to play board games.

For supper, the teens will be selling food and soft drinks for $3.50 per person.

Dr. Nathan Crockett, professor of theology at Bob Jones University, will be our guest speaker May 26 at 6:00 p.m.

We’re excited to honor the hard work and accomplishment of the graduates of 2013 on May 19 in the 10:30 service.

All high school, college and graduate school grads will receive public recognition and a special gift.
