Grace Baptist Church will be honoring fallen Hoosiers  Sunday, May 26^th.  These soldiers will receive recognition for their service with a patriotic ceremony and music. Please join us at 10:30 a.m. for this special service where we pay honor to those who have defended our freedom.

On May 11 at 6:00 pm, mothers and daughters are invited to a banquet in your honor. The meal catered by Tommy J’s will include salad, baked ziti, breadsticks and texas sheet cake with lemon sorbet. The program will include special music and a devotional from Karie Crockett.

Jonathan Washer will be speaking May 12 at 6:00 pm.

Jonathan was born in Togo, West Africa and was saved as a young boy. He surrendered his life to the Lord for ministry when he was a senior in high school. Jonathan met his wife Emily at BJU where he received a BA in Bible Evangelism. After graduating in 2006, Jonathan served the Lord as a youth pastor at Westgate Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC before the Lord called him to join National Hoops Ministries. Jonathan will serve as the coordinator for the new NH League program as well as the evangelist for a new division of National Hoops called National Goals, which will use a similar program to take the Gospel to soccer players.

Moms4Moms meets this Thursday at 10:00 am.

April 28 is our Christian Education Emphasis Sunday. We will hear a report from Indiana Christian Academy in the 6:00 pm service.

Testimony of Caleb Stein:

The many opportunities my family had to host missionaries in our home cultivated an interest in missions in my heart at a young age. My life aspiration from a very early age was to be a missionary in some far-off, exotic location.

I first traveled to Peru in July 2006, with an orchestra team. I also had the chance to teach a graduate level class to area pastors at the Baptist Seminary of Peru while I was there. It did not take long for me to realize that this was the ministry for which I had been searching and for which God had been preparing me through my graduate education. Since that first trip I have made 3 other trips to Peru to participate in ministry and better understand Peru.

I am excited about the opportunities I will have to evangelize, to plant churches, and to work with our Peruvian pastors and college students, preparing them for ministry and working with them to do God’s work in Peru and beyond.

Celebrate Christ’s triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem this Palm Sunday with services at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm on March 24.

We are excited to have a special guest speaker, Dr. John Whitcomb, as part of the Creation Expo lecture series on March 10 at 6:00 pm. Admission is free to the public.

Dr. John C. Whitcomb has been a professor of Old Testament and theology for more than 50 years, and is widely recognized as a leading Biblical scholar. He taught at Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana, from 1951-1990, and gained much recognition for his work on The Genesis Flood (Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company), which he co-authored with Dr. Henry Morris in 1961. This book has been credited as one of the major catalysts for the modern Biblical creationism movement. Among Dr. Whitcomb’s other published works are The Early Earth and The World That Perished (Baker Book House), and commentaries on Esther and Daniel (Moody Press).

Additionally, he has authored six comprehensive Bible charts, numerous multi-media slides, and countless Biblical and theological articles. Major emphases in his teaching have been Biblical creationism, dispensational theology, premillennial eschatology, and presuppositional apologetics. Dr. Whitcomb’s life and ministry may be summed up in this quotation: “I want to be in the full-time business of finding out what God says and telling as many people as I can.” His Website is located at whitcombministries.org

We will have a quarterly business meeting on March 3 at 6:00 pm that will include regular business as well as a special item. Pastor Crockett and the deacons will be making a recommendation to the church to vote on a pastoral transition plan from Pastor Crockett to Pastor Josh. All voting age church members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

After the evening service on February 17th we will have a Valentine’s Fellowship for the whole church family whether you have a special valentine or not. Join us in the fellowship hall and bring $3 for pizza.

Grace Baptist Church will be hosting this year’s G3 Blast Rally, an all-nighter with the Grace (Muncie) and Grace (New Castle) youth groups. This year’s Blast Rally will include fun games in our gymnasium, a time of singing and preaching, ice-skating, and all-you-can-eat pizza/laser tag/go karts/arcade games/mini-golf at the Incredible Pizza Company.

Our theme for 2013 is “Ancient Letters for a Modern Church.” Over the course of the year we will be looking at Jesus’ messages to the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3. These were real churches, but they were also representative churches. So the messages are timeless. They speak with uncanny clarity to the strengths and weaknesses of churches today.

Remember God’s blessings in 2012 with a special service including a year-in-review video and a light supper. Please bring a dozen sandwiches and chips or cookies for Sunday, Dec. 30th. The service will last from 6-7 pm. Supper will be served at 7:00.

Join us at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23rd for a short devotional followed by caroling. This is a chance to spread the love of Christ and holiday cheer to members of our church family who are shut-in and unable to worship with us during the winter months.

After a fun time of caroling in groups, we will meet back together in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy hot cocoa, coffee and donuts.

Joan Pinkston and Dr. David Burke have combined their talents to bring you a cantata for Christmas. Featuring a simple drama for three characters, it tells the story of one of the magi searching for the star that had once led him to Christ. Music selections feature both new and familiar Christmas songs all arranged and composed by Joan Pinkston, with original lyrics by Duane Nichols.

Titles include: “Star of Bethlehem,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “As with Gladness, Men of Old,” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” “May I Be Wise,” “They That Be Wise Shall Shine,” “Great, O Lord, Is Thy Forgiveness,” and “A Humble Heart.”

The Christian life is not only a race, it is a relay race. Our faith was handed to us by those who ran before us, and we must focus on passing the baton of faith to others. The Exchange is a ministry of relational evangelism and discipleship utilizing the circle of ministry described in 2 Timothy 2:2.

We’re looking forward to hosting what we like to call “Teen Combat” hosted by Evangelist Mike Pelletier. At Teen Combat, we will have a great time of competition (Army vs. Navy), plenty of free food, a comedy routine and a gospel message to help you know how to grow closer in your relationship with God. Our Hope in Troubled Times evangelistic meetings with the Mike Pelletier team start next Sunday (Oct. 7-10). Sunday night will be our usual 6:00 start time, but Monday through Wednesday the service will start at 7:00 p.m.

Each night we will give a prize to the person who brings the most visitors with an emphasis on different ministries: Sunday (SS classes), Monday (Keenagers), Tuesday (ICA) and Wednesday (Kids4Truth).

On Thursday and Friday, the Pelletier team will conduct a Teen “War” for our young people. Invitation cards are available in the Welcome Center.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, we can take care of that as well. Elephant ears, apple dumplings, and slushies are among our sweeter menu. Prices range from $1 – $5 per item.

Hayrides

1 ticket per each rider

Children one year old and under are free! Hayrides during the weekend load up near the Greenhouse/Nursery, and run about every 15-20 minutes. It will take you out to the patch to gather your pumpkins, come back around a little later to pick you up, and bring you back to the Greenhouse. This is where you will pay for the pumpkins you have chosen. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted at the Greenhouse.

Kiddiepillar

1 ticket per each child

Sounds strange, doesn’t it? The kiddiepillar is a giant, inflatable caterpillar that young children can crawl through. Children enter the front of the caterpillar and come out the end. Shoes are not permitted to be worn inside and must be removed prior to entry. Shoes are kept at the front of the inflatable by the staff member overseeing the activity.

Haunted House

2 tickets per each child

This giant, inflatable haunted house is child-friendly! It is a small, easy to navigate maze with inflatable ghosts, vampires, etc., throughout. Most children are not frightened, but some very young children have expressed fear. Adults may enter with their children for the same ticket cost if they desire. Be assured that nothing in this haunted house can injure children. There are no traps, actors, or any other intense props.

Playground Equipment

Our playground equipment is free to families who are visiting the farm. We have swings, a fort, a slide, and big ol’ tractor tires for children to climb on. We even have a small tractor buried into the ground for curious kids to check out!

This activity is suitable for children 2 – 12 years of age. Parents, please watch out for your little ones! The Playground Equipment does not have an appointed staff member and is unattended. Please do not leave your children unattended for any amount of time on the Straw Pile.

Straw Pile

It may look like just a bunch of straw…because it is! However, kids have a blast playing and jumping through it. The straw pile is also free to families who are visiting the farm.

This activity is suitable for children 2 years of age and up. Parents, please watch out for your little ones! The Straw Pile does not have an appointed staff member and is unattended. Please do not leave your children unattended for any amount of time on the Straw Pile.

Farm Animals

Come out and see all of our adorable farm animals! We’ve got all kinds of furry and feathered friends for you to meet. Goats, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, and more!

Please be aware that some animals may bite! Petting or handling the rabbits, chickens, or ducks is discouraged. Please use common sense! If an animal looks like it doesn’t want to be bothered, it is best to leave it alone.

There is a feeding station nearby so that families may feed the donkeys and goats. Remember, keep your palms flat! Doing so will keep them from accidentally nipping hands. There is also a hand sanitizer station nearby so you may clean your hands afterward.

Parents, please watch your children and teenagers around the animals. Do not let them chase, tease, or hurt any of our furry friends. They are apart of our family, too!
