I hate shopping. I’d rather put time, energy and money into “experiences” rather than things. However, I’ve met some incredible people and discovered unique resources through Twitter and my blogging buddies over the past year. I love that. Many of these picks are local to OC and some are as far away as Bend, OR [...]

Clark Regional Park might just be my favorite OC regional park. It’s in Buena Park squeezed in between La Mirada and Fullerton. The grounds are expansive, but manageable for my 4 year old. There are no less than 3 separate playgrounds and an interpretive center. We walked almost the whole park during our visit. [...]

Pomegranate play is one of my best childhood memories and the ultimate in playing with your food. In California, neighborhoods and backyards hold fruit-filled treasure trees of citrus, plums, peaches, avocados and even pomegranates.

Now Trader Joe’s sells pomegranate seeds already plucked from their reddish-orb home. “Back in the olden days” things weren’t so easy. We [...]

Canyon View Park in Aliso Viejo offers 12 acres of fantastic play space at one of the entrances to Wood Canyon Trail. Between climbing on the playground equipment, biking around the park path, and running around the huge grassy area, my family always leaves this park happy and exhausted. Noel and Mali took us to [...]

I’m honored to feature Aliso Hills Taekwon-do in Laguna Hills. When my son started his instruction almost two years ago with Master D, I had no idea the improvements we would see in his self-confidence, motor skills and focus. Aliso Hills Taekwon-do offers classes ranging from Little Dragons as young as 3 to entire families [...]
