Make Your Jeans Brand New Again!

Love super dark denim? Me too! But I hate when it starts to fade. If your jeans are looking a little worn out, try this trick my husband and I just tested! Our jeans look brand new again!

Purchase two packages of Rit Fabric Dye (available at Walmart & most craft stores for around $2.20 a box) You want to get a box of Denim (or Navy) and a box of Black.

Get a large bucket or rubbermaid bin and fill with about three gallons of very hot water (enough to cover whatever you are dyeing.) Add a cup a salt and empty the two Rit packages in the bin. Stir everything up and add a pair of jeans to the mixture. Let sit for 25-30 minutes a pair, stirring every couple minutes to make sure every part is saturated.

Hang to dry, then turn inside out and wash and dry. We were able to do 3-4 pairs for every batch. You can do more, but the dye may not be as dark. (You can always buy two boxes of each color and do a double batch!)

Yesterday my husband got a coupon in the mail for a free Schick hydro 5 razor. I can't remember if I signed up for it or what but that was a nice surprise! Anyway, I knew I wanted to combine it with this weeks Schick/Banana Boat Spend $25 get $10 ECB deal!

I bought one Schick Razor @ $10.99 (free after coupon) and four Schick shave gels at $3.99 each. Each shaving cream had a $1.50 peelie on it so my total came to $9.96! So after the $10 ecb it was basically free! Not a bad deal!

Are you ever shopping and notice the clothes just don't fit you right? For me I'm often in between sizes and that can be really frustrating. ChapStick Review!

I'm sure you all remember how much I love ChapStick!? So I was ecstatic when my friends at ChapStick offered to send me a couple of samples of their new flavors- velvet cupcake and cake batter. Can you say yum? I love the cake batter flavor because it's sweet - sort of more like a frosting. It smells so delicious! And the velvet cupcake has all the things I love about red velvet cake -- right down to the smell and color! It's nice to be able to have a sweet - no cal pick me up any time of the day. Buyer Beware: Big Y Pricing Change

Big Y World Class Market wrote: "Hi Lindsay, we just wanted to let you know that we have decided to alter our "Must Purchase in Quantities of..." signs going forward. That text will be in ALL caps and will live right beneath the price. We just wanted to thank you again for bringing this to our attention and thought you'd like to know that because of your comments we are making some changes to better serve our customers."

Many thanks to Big Y for listening to my thoughts and for taking action on signage. It's nice to know that Big Y is looking out for the consumer.

To all my Big Y shoppers - I wanted to let you know about a pricing strategy that Big Y is now utilizing. Tonight after work I stopped by my local Big Y. While in a rush to get home I picked up a couple boxes of Lean Pockets, and assumed they were on sale 5 for $10 ( i.e. $2 a box). It's an unwritten rule at most grocery stores that when a price says 5 for $10, you don't actually have to buy five to get the sale price.

Now I've bought Hot/Lean Pockets here a hundred times during similar sales. So when I got in my car and looked at my receipt I was surprised they didn't ring up on sale. I checked in with the service desk and the customer service rep told me that the same thing had happened to someone else buying Healthy Choice. I went back over, looked at the sign and sure enough in tiny fine print it says 'must buy five'.

I am disappointed in Big Y as I think this is a deceiving practice. Big Y shouldn't have to trick customers into making purchases. Had I known I would have had to buy five boxes - I would have bought these items at another local store who has Hot Pockets priced at $2 every week.

So if you are a Big Y shopper - check the fine print! You might be surprised what you'll actually be paying.
