Cindy and Aron’s Wedding at Youngberg Hill Vineyard

Cindy and Aron’s beautiful wedding held at Youngberg Hill Vineyard and Inn was a beautiful, sunny day. And what better place to photograph than in Yamhill County’s wine country? The award winning French bistro Bistro Maison, located in McMinnville, Oregon, was the perfect location for their intimate reception with close friends and family. Congratulations, Cindy and Aron!

Ulcaz and Ron’s Wedding at the Heathman Hotel

Photographing Ulcaz and Ron on their wedding day was a real delight. The reception was held at the luxurious Heathman Hotel in the heart of downtown Portland, where they were able to celebrate with their close friends and family. Our congratulations to you, Ron and Ulcaz!

Liz and Alex’s Wedding * Portland Wedding Photography

There’s nothing better than photographing a bride and groom as easy going as Liz and Alex. I was especially grateful during this particular wedding because just twenty-four hours before it I was crossing the finish line of the Hood To Coast relay in Seaside. Suffice it to say, I was pretty tired. The bride and groom really made my job as a photographer a breeze. They were also especially easy to photograph and they happily obliged whenever I suggested an idea. Liz and Alex, I tip my hat to you!

On one’s wedding day, I imagine it can be difficult to sit back, let the day unfold and just enjoy the day without getting too wrapped up in the logistics. Liz and Alex were masters of doing that. Even though they were under a tight time frame to set up the church for the ceremony and reception, they pulled it off with aplomb and most importantly didn’t forget to enjoy themselves. The small, white church the wedding was held at was located in downtown Portland near PSU, and it had beautiful stain-glass windows, which were great backdrops for the festivities, which included a mighty fine dance party to wrap up the celebration.

Jessica and Xixia’s wedding at Miller Farm Retreat

We had a great time photographing Jessica and Xixia’s wedding. This adorable couple were married at the Millers Farm Retreat at Mt. Hood, a group of four little cottages which are grouped in close proximity to each other, and nestled in a beautiful wooded and garden setting, with majestic Mt. Hood and surrounding orchards as the backdrop to this landscape. We were honored to be a part of their special day and capture the moments that will last a lifetime.

Xixia is a master of surprise. He coordinated with all the guests to do a flash mob dance during the reception. Jessica had no idea. And she was quite pleasantly surprised when everybody started dancing in sync!At Fritz Photography, we love to photograph wedding stories.

Black Belt Bride and Cracker Jack Boxes: Richelle and Nick’s Wedding

Wedding receptions are a hoot to photograph because during the speeches I become privy to all the hilarious inside stories only known by those close to the bride and groom. Last Saturday, a story told by the father of the bride at Richelle and Nick’s wedding was a perfect example. Months prior to the wedding at The Foundry in Lake Oswego, Richelle’s dad had walked in on Nick and her in a compromising position. Before your minds wander too far astray, it turns out that while wrestling in the downstairs living room the bride-to-be had wrangled her fiancé into a strangle hold, thoroughly incapacitating him.

During the reception at The Foundry, Richelle’s dad told this story with great pride and got an uproarious laugh from the guests. It was hard to imagine this petite, beautiful, well-mannered woman throwing the smack down on the man sitting next to her. Little did I know that Richelle is a full-blown, double black belt martial artist and is no stranger to dealing damage. Nick, of course, took this story in good stride, and it was easy to tell he was quite proud to have such a strong, confident bride beside him.

And Nick must be given credit where credit is due for netting his bride. Moments before shooting the first look, he told me their adorable engagement story. While on a fishing trip, he attached a Cracker Jack box to her line, and when she reeled it in and opened it she found her ring inside. Pretty smooth, Nick. Pretty smooth.

Lauren and Ben’s Wedding in the California Redwood Forest

What a wild, fun time I had at Lauren and Ben’s wedding tucked away in the California Redwood Forest. Beautiful location. Check! Awesome dance party. Double Check!! Camping. Triple Check!!! Amazing bride and groom. Quadruple check!!!! I’d go on but I’m a mere photographer and I don’t know what comes after quadruple. Suffice it to say, one of my favorite things about photographing weddings is getting to witness how every bride and groom make their wedding unique. And unique this wedding was indeed: custom-made rings, parachute dining tent, fields of sunflowers, musical performances by the bride and groom, late night glow-in-the-dark bocce ball.

The entire time, I felt like I was walking in a daydream about a fairytale wonderland, surrounded by incredible people having a great time. Both Lauren and Ben exude enthusiasm and joy for life, and their infectious attitudes reinforce one another’s resulting in explosions of merriment. That might sound a little over the top, but it’s absolutely true. I could go on and on about how awesome their wedding was but there’s only so much time in the day. Caitlin and Colin’s Wedding at McMenamin’s Edgefield

Photographing Caitlin and Colin’s wedding day was so much fun! This light-hearted couple made sure everyone had a smile on their face the whole day with those over-sized neon sunglasses. The sunny weather in Edgefield that day added to the already beautiful surroundings of the McMenamins Edgefield hotel near the Columbia River. We were so glad to be able to provide this wonderful couple with so many beautiful memories.

These guys were seriously fun to photograph. And they had some of the most photogenic kids at their wedding! The entire wedding was held in the Attic of the Power Station at McMenamins Edgefield, an awesome vintage venue which used to be the county poor house. No kidding.

Erin and Daniel’s Vintage Wedding at the Northstar Ballroom

We had a great time photographing Erin and Daniel’s wedding day. The Northstar Ballroom was a perfect setting for this young couple and all their friends and family. Check out those great vintage inspired wedding and bridesmaid dresses!
