Earlier i made a tutorial on How To Change/Write IMEI On MTK Android Devices Using MTK Engineering Mode App. This time around goes to Chamelephon.

OBSERVATIONS:
Changing/Writing IMEI using the Chamelephon does not require root permision.
{In Some Android Versions} Changing/Writing IMEI using the Chamelephon require root permision.

STEPS >>

Download latest Chamelephon App from Google Play Store or from here v1.0

Install App

Lauch App
Select IMEI 1 (for sim 1 imei)

Select IMEI 2 (for sim 2 imei)

Write a 15 digit working imei (serial number) or generate any using the Generate random IMEIs Option

eg: IMEI 1: 35xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

eg: IMEI 1: 35xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Click the Apply New IMEIs button
A prompt will be shown asking "Do you comfirm changing IMEIs ?"
Select Change

Reboot device and dail *#06# to check if the imei has being written.

How To Root Tecno W4

This is a tutorial on how to Root Tecno W4.

What Is Rooting?

Rooting can be said to be Android jailbreaking. Its simply a means of unlocking the operating system of a device so you can install unapproved apps, delete unwanted bloatware, update the OS, replace the firmware, overclock (or underclock) the processor, writing or changing IMEI, installing fonts, customize anything and so on.

Tecno W4 is Tecno’s first phone to run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

This simply means that rooting this device might sound difficult to you but it's simply easy to execute. Simply follow the few steps given bellow.

How To Root Tecno W4

STEP 1. Download and install Miracle Box Drivers v1.0 to your PC.

STEP 2. Download SuperSU 2.66.zip.

STEP 3. Copy SuperSU.zip to both the device internal storage and SD card (external storage).

STEP 4. Insert the SD card to the Device.

STEP 5. Download TWRP for Tecno W4 [romshillzz].

STEP 6. Power of Device.

STEP 7. Flash the TWRP recovery.img to the device using SP Flash tool.

Flashing the TWRP recovery.img using SP Flash tool.

STEP 7. Boot the device into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume up button + Power button.
STEP 8. In TWRP, if you will get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow modification then swipe.
STEP 9. In TWRP recovery, tap Install.
STEP 10. Navigate to the location of the SuperSU.zip and select it.
STEP 11. Swipe to confirm flash and patiently wait until the flashing process is complete.
STEP 12. After the flashing process is completed, Reeboot System.

Now you have successfully rooted your tecno w4!

STEP 6. Select the Scatter File from the Stock ROM (Firmware) you have downloaded.
STEP 7. Select Format and click Start.
STEP 8. Connect device >> holding volume + and volume - button of your device at the same time or holding power button only.
STEP 9. Patiently wait for device to be formatted.
STEP 10. After format,

You can flash this device by the following ways; If the file is a PAC file use ResearchDownload or UpgradeDownload Tool (If there is no pac file, Simply launch the ResearchDownload.exe inside the extracted folder, start and connect device). If the file is a BIN file use Miracle Box, Volcano Box, or GPG Dragon Box etc.

How To Flash

Using SP Flash Tool

STEP 1. Download & extract the Stock ROM (Firmware) on your computer.
STEP 2. Install the USB Drivers (skip this step if drivers are already installed).
STEP 3. Launch SP Flash Tool.
STEP 4. Click on Download.
STEP 5. Select Scatter-loading.
STEP 6. Select the Scatter File from the Stock ROM (Firmware) you have downloaded.
STEP 7. Select Format and click Start.
STEP 8. Connect device >> holding volume + and volume - button of your device at the same time or holding power button only.
STEP 9. Patiently wait for device to be formatted.
STEP 10. After format,
STEP 11. Select Download and click Start.
STEP 12. Connect device & Patiently wait for the process to complete.

Using Miracle Box
STEP 1. Download & extract the Stock ROM (Firmware) on your computer.
STEP 2. Install the USB Drivers (skip this step if drivers are already installed).
STEP 3. Launch Miracle Box.
STEP 4. Click MTK.
STEP 5. Select Write.
STEP 6. Select Format ALL[Android] (Optional but recommended).
STEP 7. Click on the folder-like button to select Stock ROM (Firmware) on the location it is saved.
STEP 8. After Selecting Stock ROM (Firmware),
STEP 9. Click on the Start button.
STEP 10. Connect device holding volume + and volume - key or power key only.
STEP 11. When device is connected, Select Block will pop-out, Click OK.
STEP 12. Patiently wait while the process completes.
